The crust is perfectly chewy and crunchy & they were generous with their vegan cheese and impossible sausage toppings. I so appreciate having plant based options especially when on the road - and not walking away feeling like I had to sacrifice flavor or fullness. My colleague and I devoured the majority of an 18" pie in about 15 minutes. Service was also quick and friendly, and the restaurant was filled with college kids, young kids, grandparents and everyone in between. Ordered 2 pizzas and 3 Cokes to be delivered on Friday night. The pizzas were delivered 15 minutes earlier than expected but the driver forgot the Cokes. She said she'd be back. An hour later still no Cokes so I call. The manager offered to refund everything but then said, "if you want pizzas on a Friday or Saturday night maybe order from someone else if you want it on time because we are very busy." I was not upset about the delivery time but rather the fact that I ate pizza with nothing to drink and 90 minutes later still no Cokes. After being called unreasonable I let him have it. I haven't been reviewing much this year, quarantine will do that to you. But I am trying to get caught up on the places we have either had delivery or take out from. This place popped up in my FB feed, and it looked interesting. So I asked them a question on their page. The main question, what sort of oven? Metal, stone, or conveyor? They replied; We cook all our pizzas in a beautiful Marsal stone oven! I do not consider pizza made in the conveyor belt ovens, or as I refer to them "Easy Bake Ovens" to be pizza at all. We had to try this. We got the South Sider pizza with pepperoni, salami, banana peppers, roasted red peppers, and provolone and oh my it was tasty. Nice bite to the pepperoni, the salami was a smoother taste that balanced that off nicely. And the banana peppers gave it a nice, sweet heat. I didn't notice the sauce, so that says that it fit with the toppings nicely. The crust is a little thicker than is my preference, I like a basic midwestern crunch to it, but this is very good. A bit thicker than NYC style, but not by much. We made a joke that we were testing this out for science. Initial samplings are very positive, but a wider sample size must be obtained to complete the testing. Yeah, we are definitely going back, and soon. Great pizza. read more

This place is amazing! We left the Iowa State Fair and wanted a quick bite before our flight home - convenient to both, and easy street-side parking. Everyone was so nice, The pizza was great, we enjoyed the music (Pete Seeger!) and we watched the Olympics on one of their TVs. No refund...nothing other than having to wait another 30 min for them to remake our order. Pizza was just ok, but our cinnamon bread was burnt. The second time was tonight. We ordered through their online system which told us 45 minutes for pick up. We live fairly close, so waited the 45 min before we left. When we got to the store, our pizza hadn't even been cooked yet. All we got were excuses about them being busy with walk in traffic. We were asked to come back 20-30 minutes later. So this was our first time ordering Dough Co. a taco pizza and a pepperoni/mushroom pizza along with the cheese breadsticks and some meatballs. The delivery was super fast, 25 minutes or so when we were told 45 minutes to an hour. Pizza arrived and it was SO overdone. How does that happen??? My husband who is normally the complainer said it was fine....but agreed it the pizza was overdone/burnt. While we were hungry and knew they were closing soon, we gave a few bites and my husband refused to call and make a complaint of the over cooked pizza. The flavor of the pizza was good and I assume would have been AWESOME hadn't it been WAY over done. The breadsticks were cooked to perfection and hubby said meatballs were good. Great pizza, sensible price. Would have to dig around to find something bad to say about this place after this first visit. The counter girl was quite friendly, the two pizza "slices" for the lunch special filled the entire pan, and the price revealed some empathy for the common man (and woman). They gave us a call about 10 minutes before our delivery time to let us know our food was coming out of the oven and they would be running a tad behind, which I super appreciated. We took advantage of their Family pack, which is an 18" pizza, breadstick Bites, cinnamon dippers, and a 2 liter for $35. It was a great deal and we still have plenty of pizza/breadsticks for a sizeable lunch tomorrow! We got the New York thin crust, which was really good. I've never had New York pizza before so I can't speak on that part, but I am a connoisseur of thin crust. Theirs was perfect. Not too dry/crispy, but also held up nicely and didn't get soggy! The pizza is really good if you can get one. If it's any kind of normal time you probably won't get food. If online ordering isn't turned on just don't even try, you can call but their phone doesn't seem to work, or you can go in person and wait an hour+ it's just not worth it. If you do get an order in, it probably won't be ready until 20-30 minutes after it originally is supposed to. I really don't want to be so negative because the pizza is good, I really do enjoy it. I just don't understand how this place gets so backed up. I'm either waiting forever or just giving up and going somewhere else. read more

Dough Co has some tasty pizza. Came here on a Sunday for lunch. They did a great job on spacing in here and also have a good selection of craft beers too. We tried their breadsticks with cheese, simple and good, sauce was fab. We also tried their Sicilian square, and this was tasty. Very nice staff here and the atmosphere is good too. Really impressed with Dough Co Pizza experience last night.. My first. First off they have a fantastic ordering experience on-line, super easy and I said I wanted my food by 6pm and was ordering around 4:30 pm. It was at my apt by 5:45! I love that they have vegan cheese for pizza's and cheese bread! I got the veggie special with the vegan cheese 14 inch and it was fantastic! A really great vegan pizza with NYC style crust! Fresh veggies and they did not skimp. The vegan cheese bread really hit the spot too! Perfect cheesy bread texture. I also love I can order a giant slice of NYC pizza for my son with real cheese on it.. He loved it and it took about 3 meals for him to finish it was so huge! The gal who delivered the pizza was wearing gloves and a mask and was very sweet too. This was the first time I ordered but wont be the last! Heck I might do it again this week! read more

I (a 26 year old female) was declined an alcoholic beverage because they thought my ID was fake. The manager then went on to call me questioning their decision suspicious behavior. Vigilante: I paid extra for goat cheese and received feta (there's a big difference); however, specified no onion and green peppers on half, which was executed. Taco Pizza Slice: The taco meat was just straight up hamburger. No seasoning--I don't even think salt and pepper. I ended up picking off the big chunks and giving them to my dog. Disappointing for sure! Went early on a Saturday to celebrate a couple of birthdays. Only one other table was occupied when we arrived, so we assumed service would be reasonably prompt. We ordered 2 pizzas and 2 kids meals. We were told the kids' items would take about 15 minutes and about 30 for the full pizzas. After 45 minutes we still had not received either. The place was getting busier and several of those tables were already receiving and enjoying their orders. My husband inquired about the remaining time for our pizzas, especially about the kids meals. Our 1 year old and 3 year old granddaughters were getting restless. He was told that our ticket hadn't even been started. It was tucked under some other orders and had been overlooked. They said it would be next in line. The staff did not offer any apologies for the delay. Finally after about 20 minutes, one of the kids meals was delivered... and was incomplete. We assumed the balance of the order would come with the second kids meal. After 10 more minutes the second kids meal had still not been delivered, so I approached the counter for an update. The kitchen expediter was VERY RUDE and said we would get it when the full sized pizzas were done... that they were short staffed and I needed to be patient. There were several employees in the open kitchen and I could see them boxing up lots of to go orders. I said we were trying to be patient, but a slice of cheese pizza shouldn't take close to an hour and half. She again snapped that we should be more understanding, muttered something and walked away. About 10 minutes later our 2 pizzas were delivered to the table. No cheese slice and the missing items from the first kids meal never showed. We finished our pizza and I requested a refund for the missing meal. The pizza was decent but the service was TERRIBLE! Because you pay when you place your order, I added the 20% tip to our $75 ticket before ever receiving a single bit of food. This was certainly disappointing and something I will NEVER do again. They were disorganized, slow and rude. We had to make three trips to the counter to follow up on our order which took 90 minutes to prepare, was never fulfilled and no one ever apologized. The girl at the cash register was the only person that attempted to help, but the rest of the staff didn't seem to be interested in making any effort to correct the situation. The manager was apparently in the kitchen (the cashier had to get approval to refund the missing kids meal) but never came forward to offer any sort of regret. Apparently Customer Service is LOW on the priority list. With the number of pizzas going out the door, this place seems to focus primarily on the carry out clientele, rather than appreciate their dine-in customers. Very disappointed. I didn't try the cauliflower crust this time instead I got a plethora of pizza slices. Dough Co makes good stuff and their lunch specials are pretty good. But, for some reason ordering a pizza on a Fri or Sat jnight is a complete disaster. It takes FOREVER. Please keep that in mind. First of all, when you place the order, it says it'll be ready in 45-50 minutes, which is already significantly longer than other places in the area.. Secondly, it's usually much longer than that. Sometimes it will be ready, but often you'll have to wait when you get there, sometimes for 15-20 minutes. I've waited for longer than that. Here's a typical Dough Co fiasco: last night I placed an online order and my gf, who was coming from out of town, would pick it up. She got there much earlier than I realized but she decided to just wait. They told her it would be "right out". Long story short: she was there for 45 minutes and asked several times about it. I called and they said the order was ready but by that time she had gotten fed up and left, 25 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. I guess they had never called it out. My girlfriend said several other people were there, also waiting and also annoyed. I had to go get it. From ordering to pizza-in-hand, it was well over an hour and a half. They also never comp or offer us anything for the long wait. They rarely apologize or are even aware of how long it took. We order from Dough Co once every few months because it's the closest place and we're always hoping it improves. But it never does. Probably never calling them again. read more
