OK. I realize I wrote a review 7 years ago. Been a long time but I am back. I ordered some…read morebiscuchitos a couple years ago and had them shipped to Virginia. I get desperate sometimes for food from home. They were amazing. Just stopped off for some more while in NM. Still excellent. What makes them perfect is she uses enough anise, many people don't. Texture and taste are perfect. Wish I had her recipe since she does a better cookie than any of my relatives. Owner is also really flexible, went out of her way to meet me after hours and sell me what few cookies she had left. We ate them slowly, with happy noises.

I had to mail some things from the Post Office and there it was! They just opened for the day. She had a display of the days offerings. Not as big as the ones in Albuquerque, but very tasty and great looking. The day's offering were: Blue Berry Cheesecake, Fruity Pebbles, and a Chocolate Covered Marshmallow, this one looked heavenly. Cupcakes were $2.50 each or 6 for $12. I forgot to note the dozen price. We got 6 to go. There is a place to sit and enjoy your treat. My daughter said that would be perfect for her and her friends to come, sit and enjoy. This place is a little hidden, at least to me. If I had not parked where I did for the Post Office we would not have spotted it. While there we checked out her custom order cakes. Very creative! My daughter likes to have a place to get just one cupcake, you know for after those finals!

Los Ranchos Bakery - The inside is very comfortable and functional. And it's always fun to see which pastries they have near the cash register.

Every time I've come here they've always been professional, serving up top shelf baked goods. If you've never been...just go and enjoy!! Regarding my five-year-old's birthday cake... Friendly service and faces always warm up a cold morning, and we definitely got that at Los Ranchos Bakery. The menu is simple and the baked goods look great! We ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon and green chile cheddar bagel, a lavender latte, and a red chile mocha. A cherry tart and a cinnamon roll to go. The drinks were, unfortunately, missing a few ounces and flavor. The sandwiches were smaller than I expected. The bagel had a hint of heat and chile. It was perfectly toasted and held the egg and bacon quite well. The bacon was crispy and the egg was well done. It was filling in the end. The baked goods will have to wait until tonight but I've had their scones before and they were excellent! I'm betting on excellence on the tart and cinnamon roll. Overall, this is a nice local coffee shop that can be a great alternative to a chain coffee shop. The space is nice for some work or chatting with friends and family. Don't bet on the coffee, but definitely go for the baked goods!

They do walk-up service only. You order at the window. I love how casual this place is on the outside. But inside, it's all business when you peek in while you wait for someone to take your order. Their open-air display case is a fantasy to behold. With its beautifully arranged with enticing treats. You'll have a hard time deciding. I've tried several of their pastries and enjoyed each one. Sweet favorites are any of the toasts. My most recent one was their seasonal Peach Raspberry Toast. Of their savory options, the Elote Croissant Cup is fun and worth trying. You can't go wrong with anything you order. Go for your favorite flavors or try something completely new. Try to get there early. They tend to run out.

We came Saturday morning and I was expecting a long line but we only had a few people ahead of us. We go the last green chile croissant and I'm so glad we got to try it because it was amazing. Also loved the red chile sourdough loaf. The elote cup thing didn't hold together well but overall everything was amazing and it was a great start to our New Mexico trip. If we had more days in ABQ, I would've totally come back. Also, had their own parking lot and easy to park. We ended up eating in the car with the AC on.
