Awesome dough! We ordered two pizzas - Smoking Dough Frazier and Marlon Brandough. Both were really good. My fav was the bbq chicken (Smoking) while others preferred the sausage and spinach (Marlon). The crust is amazing. I have tried the long-lined award-winning places and I'd choose this crust over those every day. One of the things I liked was the chicken was shredded and not diced i to tint pieces that turn into pebbles when baked at a high temperature. The bbq sauce was amazing. The only thing I didn't really care for was the very wet spinach, which I imagine was topped after baking. They don't give you a choice to build your own, which is fine given they do offer many options with all kind of toopings on the menu. What I do like tho is they do sell slices since a whole pizza can be a lot, and you should go during peak time to be be able to buy specialty slices. If they only have pepperoni or buffalo chicken when you come, just come back a little later, because they literally told me they probably wouldn't have specialty slices so I bought the whole pie and when I picked up there were so many specialty slices :/ The pizza itself was good! Got into Philly late and despite having an early lunch we were famished. Looking for late night eats in City Center is always a challenge as well as we had an early morning the following day so we're looking for delivery. My son had good things to say about Dough Head's so gave it a try. The pizza for a delivered pizza was really good and loved the fact you could request it to be cooked more. Nothing worse than doughy pizza. Pizza arrived fairly quickly though it was luke warm but still hit the mark. My only wish was for more pepperoni. Photo on their site showed a pizza overloaded with Pepperoni. Price was on the steep side but to get a pizza late at night I have no complaints. This is a very good pizza spot, I did order it to my house which admittedly is a bit far from the location so it's hard to fully assess how the pizza was before the transit. The flavors were very good and there was a good amount of pepperoni on the pie which is important. There were more garlic knots that I thought there would be and they were good but not life changing. Had a pretty tough time deciding on which two pies to go with as there are so many similar-ish options but each with their own character. Ultimately asked for help and went with Dough Joe & Grannie Pannies Dough Joe: I'm a huge white pizza guy and this was just okay. I surprisingly felt like the ricotta was too soft to hold up the rest of the pizza in terms of overall texture. The garlic spinach was a nice touch. The sausage was fine-really nothing overly special. The crust is good but there's a LOT of it. We ended up buying extra marinara sauce and the garlic parm sauce for dipping-I really enjoyed the latter but some may find it a bit salty. Grannie Pannies: The thickness of this crust was key- a nice thinness without being too floppy. The sauce was nice. Added some of their garlic powder, chili flakes, and truffle hot sauce which really put this slice over the edge. I was actually quite surprised they had the truffle hot sauce in the condiment section-would recommend (it is HOT!). The prices for the pies were a bit of an eyebrow raiser but the pies were really sizable so I actually think they were quite reasonable. Truth be told, I don't have the patience for Angelo's so I can't compare Dough Head to them (yet). I enjoy the food here, but the service is not it. I order pizza to be delivered around 11/11:30PM as I work night shift through their website on Thursday 10/2/25. My order never came. Drivers kept getting assigned but no one could pick up the food and the ordering/delivery system canceled my order 37 minutes after the store closed. With canceled orders it is not automatically refunded. I had to call the store a few times and speak to a few employees before the owner finally resolved the issue. All this was fine, I get it, the delivery service they use is a third party (UberEats/DoorDash/something like that). The owner Joe called me from his personal cell on 10/5/25 at 4:43PM to confirm I received the receipt for my refund (I did at 4:09PM). But, what annoyed me was the owner said he was giving me a $25 gift card for inconvenience of it all. I told him I did not need it, but he insisted. He sent the gift card over at 4:50PM right after he got off the phone with me, and by 5:29PM had revoked the gift card. This kind of FALSE COURTESY is what annoys me the most. They actually thought I'd want another. This place is disgusting. I also got a salad that time and the cucumbers were at least a month expired and complete mush and it was swimming in dressing. I don't know how they can serve such gross food. I walked by today and they wouldn't let my toddler use the bathroom. I would've sucked it up and bought something just to throw in the trash. Pizza is not too floppy and the undercarriage cooked to the right texture. Flavor is great, right amount of sweet and tangy tomato. We placed our order and it said it would take about 35 mins. No problem. 45 mins passed, so we decided to call to check-in with them. We called and the business apologized that they were busy, but upon checking on our order, assured us that our order went out for delivery and should be there shortly. We continued to wait. Another hour passed and the brewery was closing so we closed our tab, and decided to walk over to Dough Head. When we got there, we explained who we were and asked about our pie. He remembered that we had called and looked at his shelves where two pizza boxes were sitting. Our order was the bottom of the two and cold... he did not apologize, but rather told us that he "didn't realize this was a Cartesian order because I normally walks them over himself." All of which, still doesn't explain why a delivery pizza was left sitting there in any situation. So, 2.5 hours later, we got our pizza but was so turned off by the whole situation that if we weren't so hungry and it being so late, we would have asked for a new pie or refund.
