Have been here a bunch of times and have never written a review so here goes. Love all their donuts, but the jelly and fruity pebbles are a couple of my favorites. They are very cake-like (not sure if they use cake flour??) so even though they aren't the biggest donuts around they are so packed with flavor you don't need anything more! Another great thing about Dough Hut is that when you walk in the staff seem happy you are there. I am all for the Long Beach restaurant resurgence that's been happening in the last few years. However, some of my other favorite places need to take a lesson from Dough Hut, especially you front of house people! There are no snobs, wannabes or rude weirdos here. Nuff said. read more

Simply the best! I lived down in LB for the summer last year. Every time I was on the bus, we passed this place and I caught a whiff of the fresh doughnuts! Living in a beach town, I tried to stay in beach shape all summer. I finally decided to indulge a bit. I bought a half dozen doughnuts and surprised my roommates when they woke up. We all tried some and I fell in love. Every time I'd go home for a BBQ or family party I'd pick up a dozen. People love the novelty doughnuts and how it's something "different." I love that they're fresh! I started going there for iced coffee every morning. The coffee is good and they let you put your own milk and sweetener in - which is a huge plus for me. You're always welcomed with a smile and the owner and workers will chat with you. They really love what they do and it shows! ...My friends moved down to LB a month ago. Just travelled 40 minutes, the place closes at 6:00pm. I walked in for NATURALLY a doughnut but they didn't have any. They said they sold out. I paid 2 tolls just to get here. I am disappointed, my first time in long beach since late 80's and the last time of my life. This might be the only gourmet doughnut shop on all of Long Island, but it is definitely worth the drive! I got there on a beautiful Sunday afternoon (1-ish) with my girlfriend and to our surprise, all of the doughnuts were available to choose from. We got a dozen doughnuts at around 20 bucks, which isn't bad considering there are some of the lightest and best tasting doughnuts I've ever had.The doughnuts are small, so tasting a few with the help of someone else is easy. Top three flavors were the Maple Bacon, Vanilla Crumb, and S'Mores! All of the others were great tasting (Pistachio, Fruity Pebble), but these three really made their presence known. Small place, so call before you go to ensure they have a big selection, They have about 16 different varieties. We had the French Toast, Maple Bacon, Cinnamon, Strawberry sprinkles, Fruity Pepples. My fav has to be the French Toast, with the Maple Bacon a close second. The doughnuts are smaller than your average dunkin size.
