Great place to get donuts in Ballard! They have dairy free donuts, which are so helpful for my lactose intolerant friends! Everything was perfectly sweet, every donut had a unique flavor, service was spectacular, overall I highly recommend and I will come back!

They have three rotating monthly flavors besides their regular flavors.

    1. This is our go to donut shop in Seattle. They have a good mix of classic flavors and fun creative flavors. The cinnamon sugar and twist are great versions of these classics. At the holidays the raspberry filled sufganiyot is our favorite. 2. The staff is always friendly and after just a few visits recognized us. And it's a fun light filled shop. 3. All their donuts are vegan but what's great is that you'd never know that. I'm pretty sure many people visit and never know. That's how good these donuts are.

*CELIAC / GLUTEN FREE REVIEW At first glance, these donuts don't catch your eye; but MAN were they delicious! the display flavors are in a shared case, but the actual donuts are prepped in a safe space and kept separate in the back until ordered. The staff seem SUPER knowledgeable and I did not get sick! we got the macchiato chocolate chip and the flavor / moistness was great!

We stopped here after the Ballard farmer's market for something sweet and tea. The donuts are super soft and not too sweet. For the friends that got the French toast, he didn't see the difference from a maple donut. The glazed with sea salt one was a great combo of sweet and salty. The last got an apple fritter and he said it was perfectly sweet. The service was awesome and felt like a friend was helping us. The ambiance is so cute with the neon signs and cute merchandise. Parking was rough because of the market so be patient.

Really love the vibe and interior design of this place!! Staff were very nice and friendly to answer all our questions. Really like their icing because it was very dense, full of flavor, and delicious! But some of the dough was not chewy-like donut, it was more like a hardened bread that was overcooked or the dough got harden overnight type of texture. We really like the lemon-flavored cream filling inside the donut. Will definitely go back to try again with other types of donuts!

Had NO IDEA this place was vegan. Just stopped in because we were craving donuts and they were honestly quite good! It you're vegan, definitely give this place a try. The woman working there was kind and gave us recommendations. Donuts were about $3-4 each. GET the blueberry fritter! It was like an apple fritter in texture but BETTER. Wonderful blueberry swirls of flavor throughout the dough and the glaze over the top was just perfect too. We weren't as a fan of the pop tart donut mainly because the strawberry jelly was a bit thick and artificial looking, but the dough itself was springy and light. They also have a variety of coffee and espresso options available. I will say the inside felt quite industrial, very concrete and plain feeling, and was also cold inside because the doors were purposely propped wide open on a cold winter day, so we ate our donuts quickly and left. All that to say this is NOT a place with ambiance that says come meet up with a friend here and hang out. It really feels like a place to stop in and grab a donut, but they are yummy!

This place brings me a lot of joy!

I love Dough Joy! I went here with my hubs the first weekend they opened and have been back another three times. We've tried more of their donuts and they've been great. My favorite so far is the cinnamon sugar raised donut. It's just perfect. My hubs doesn't have a fave yet but he had the raised French Toast recently and really enjoyed it. Service has always been friendly and the vibe here is happy and light. There's a lot of joy to be found at Dough Joy!!!

Impeccable, warm service. Beautiful and equally delicious doughnuts where you wouldn't even know they were vegan!? 10/10 Space is beautiful and clean and cozy. Will definitely be back.

This place is fricken awesome. I highly recommend dough joy for your donut needs if you're in this area! I loved the vibe, ambiance, customer service, workers, and the donuts. I absolutely love the bags they use for individual donuts. It's cute, eye catching, and good quality! I'm a huge fan of blueberry donuts so k had a blueberry glazed and a blueberry fritter! Both were soo good. I love the glaze on the fritter and the blueberry glaze was thicker than your average donut shop! I'm definitely coming back here.

Probably one of the best doughnuts in town and you would never know they're vegan. I was bummed when their Ballard food truck disappeared, and then excited to see a store front from them a year or two later! It's a big store front with a handful of seating. Lots of variety of flavors. We got their Poptart and Matcha Strawberry. The Poptart didn't really taste like a Poptart, tasted like a regular vanilla doughnut with a strawberry filling. The Matcha Strawberry was great, the matcha was subtle but noted, and the freeze dried strawberry was a nice tart flavor.

The foam was so deliciously creamy. I loved the lemon flavor, and it worked well with the matcha. I think they could have done a little more lemon, but I always think that. They have lots of beautiful looking pastries to try. The croissants were especially beautiful to admire. There is ample amounts of seating, so you can choose to take your goodies or eating them inside. I went in the early afternoon, so there wasn't any line, but I am sure if you went at brunch time, it would be a whole different story. It is close-ish to Greenlake, so if you are willing to brave the hill, then it is a great post walk/ post workout spot.

Definitely one of the more unique and memorable drinks I've had in a while. I also got the oat and coconut cookie, which was absolutely divine. It was incredibly soft and had a great texture, with the coconut adding a really nice flavor. Honestly one of those cookies you wish you had grabbed two of. The service was also super friendly, which made the experience even better. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, and the overall vibe felt warm and inviting. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable, which is always a nice bonus. Great drinks, amazing baked goods, and kind service--would definitely come back.

A good day always starts with a good cup of coffee!…read more On our first morning in Seattle, my daughter and I found this little coffee shop nearby with excellent reviews, and it turned out to be a wonderful start to our day. My daughter ordered the June special, the Fruity Pebbles Cold Foam Cold Brew, while I chose the Brown Sugar Latte. The special drink was beautifully presented, and my daughter loved both its unique flavor and refreshing taste. My latte was made with Stamp Act Coffee, and I really enjoyed its clean, smooth, and naturally rich flavor. You can definitely tell they use high-quality beans. For breakfast, we paired our coffees with a croissant and the pumpkin nutty bread. Both were decent and convenient for a quick breakfast, though the coffee was definitely the highlight of our visit. If you're looking for a cozy neighborhood café with excellent coffee to start your day, this is a great spot to check out.

Matcha latte w/ almond milk was alright, knowing this can't be compared to what I can get at tea cafes. I love how they make this place green w/ all sorts of indoor plants. Plants do light up the area and mood given that Seattle can be so gloomy around this time. Def coming back if I'm in the area again.

I hope this review deters many people away hoping to get a decent matcha here so I can save you the hassle of trying to find parking just to pay $9 for this sad excuse of a drink. We ordered their regular matcha latte and banana matcha latte both with oat milk. Right off the bat just looking at the top I knew it wasn't going to be good. Sometimes color can be deceiving so I still had some hope but the amount of foam that was sitting on the top wasn't helping its case. The matcha was powdery and tasted extremely presweetened, I would liken it to the old starbucks matcha before their recent upgrade. The banana matcha was not any better, it tasted super artificial and like a kid was bored and decided to mix a melted leftover matcha drink and banana milk. No, I did not just go on a bad day, I've been to enough shops to know the difference between purely bad technique and just straight up bad matcha. I heard the owners have changed recently so maybe that has something to do with it but the amount of cafes trying to hop on the matcha trend just to serve half attempted concoctions like this is really not it.
