    Dark chocolate iced coffee

We've been here early with lots of options and later with very limited options and every time it's been great. The coffee is delicious and the donuts are really good and fresh. My son loved the everything bagel breakfast sandwich! Service was decent and it's a clean little place. We love having a donut and coffee shop on our way to school and work.

This year, I decided to fully lean into self-love and make Valentine's Day extra special for myself -- and somewhere along that journey I discovered Dough N Joe's social media post about their legendary HEARTZILLA donut. It was love at first sight. According to their ad, the GIANT HEARTZILLA donut is a massive, customizable, heart-shaped masterpiece designed to feed 6-8 people. Naturally, I ordered one for...myself. As soon as pre-orders opened, I secured my spot: strawberry icing, peanut butter filling (because obviously), and instead of choosing a written message, I left a note asking them to surprise me with something sweet since this was my first Valentine's Day on my own in a long time. Total cost? $20 -- $18 for the donut, plus $1 for filling and $1 for the mystery message. Honestly, a bargain for a donut with main-character energy. Pickup was scheduled for Valentine's Day Eve at 10:30am. I arrived right on time, found plenty of parking, and walked inside to see my HEARTZILLA already boxed up with my name on it waiting near the front door. Ordering online had been simple, payment was easy, and pickup was completely seamless -- always appreciated. Determined to fully surprise myself, I refused to open the box until the next morning. The anticipation nearly took me out. At 5:30am on Valentine's Day, I finally opened the box... and I'm pretty sure angels started singing. This thing was HUGE. And the surprise message written on top? "Be your best self." Hand me a knife because I am absolutely about to become my best self by eating as much of this giant donut as possible. The strawberry frosting was sweet without overpowering the fruit flavor, and the peanut butter filling was everything I hoped for -- clearly peanut butter (not just vaguely tan-colored sugar fluff), light, airy, and perfectly whipped. Together, it tasted like a PB&J in donut form, which was exactly the vision I had when placing the order. The donut itself hit the perfect balance -- not too heavy, not overly dense, but still substantial enough to feel like a real indulgence. Somewhere perfectly between "I just ate a bowling ball" and "Did I even eat a donut?" From ordering to pickup to the actual eating experience, everything about this was fantastic. I especially appreciate their online ordering system with customization options -- it let me take my time, double-check my choices, and avoid the stress of hoping a phone order didn't get lost in the bakery chaos. Dough N Joe's seasonal and holiday offerings clearly bring a lot of fun and creativity, and I'll absolutely be keeping an eye on their social media for future treats. Huge thanks to Dough N Joe's for making my Valentine's Day feel special. Made to feed 6-8 people, but happily devoured by one girl on her own, fully committed to loving herself on Love Day this year.

This place has really good donuts, but what is most impressive is the variety of flavors. I got a chocolate banana donut that was really good. I have never seen that combination of flavors for a donut before. So fun and so good! I'll keep going and trying different flavors!

Finally a doughnut shop that actually sells fresh homemade doughnuts. I ordered a plain red velvet and plain cake "old fashion" donuts and both were delicious. The doughnuts are also double the size as Dunkin doughnuts and fresh. I was also happy to see they sell Harrisburg Dairies products. Employee was very pleasant and loaded with knowledge I was impressed that she knew what was inside all the filled doughnuts. Shop looked clean and bright. They were running low on doughnuts but I don't hold that against them due to me stopping in so late, but they still had a nice variety available.

French glazed, regular glazed, and chocolate sprinkle yeast donuts!

As someone who grew up in Houston with a Shipley's Do-Nuts on every corner, I was so sad to learn that the northeast favors Dunkin', which gets all their donuts shipped to their locations frozen and thawed for the most bland yeast donut you've ever had. Other than that, so many people here prefer cake donuts, which are way too sweet for me. So I've been on a crusade to find the best yeast donut in the Harrisburg area. Today, I found it -- it's Dough N Joe in Mechanicsburg!! Also a huge fan of Fresh Donuts in Lebanon, but this is much closer and so more likely that we'll return time and time again. The glazed donut is, in my opinion, the true barometer for a donut shop's prowess, and this one impresses -- its got a nice flaky sugar topping and the yeast donut beneath it is soft and fluffy. I just wish I had managed to get there when they were still warm from the fryer. I imagine they're especially heavenly then!! I also tried a French glazed, which has an eggy, moist consistency. Very unique. I'm not sure I'm a fan of that style, but it was something new to try. The chocolate sprinkle was perfect as well, same yeast donut base with a thick layer of chocolate frosting, encrusted with sprinkles. I will definitely return and I'm so excited for this addition to the greater Harrisburg area!!

Half Dozen left to right; Red Velvet, Crushed peanuts, chocolate, Samoa, coffee crumb, blueberry

HIDDEN GEM IN MECHANICSBURG !! My girlfriend is from New Cumberland and said how all of these new spots have opened since going to college in Pittsburgh. Whenever I travel to unfamiliar places I'm always on the hunt for donuts. I showed her this place and she hadn't been so I took us there yesterday The second I saw these donuts I knew these were gonna be DYNAMITE and trust me they were. First the inside was super clean and bright. I enjoyed the lighting, made seeing the options way easier. They moved fast and everyone was nice I'm not a yeast donut person. I do not like them. They're too boring and not filling. Team cake through and through. They had a good amount of cake donut options. It was amazing so we got a half dozen. Most places only have 3-5 Left to right: Red velvet - 5.5/10 I don't like red velvet. Just wanted to try Crushed PB - 8/10 It almost was like peanut butter on the outside for how crushed it was. It's dry Chocolate - 8.5/10 Solid. Samoa - 9.5/10 Coconut was so good, not artificial, not loaded with caramel and chocolate Coffee - 10/10 I will have dreams about these Blueberry - 8/10 Solid.

Stopped in, TBH, bc we found a coupon in the Clippd magazine this week. Grabbed a dozen donuts to share with our adult kids this afternoon during football games. This place offers a first responder discount...thank you very much!! Donuts look and taste good. Not overly priced in comparison to other options. Will have to go back to try coffee at a later date. The store seemed clean and quiet. Service was quick and friendly. For any locals from Mburg HS in the 80s/90s...Mrs. Ashenfelder was working the counter. Check it out. I love to support local businesses.

Bavarian/boston cream, blueberry filled crumble top, peanut butter, french, apple filled iced
    Leah B.

Light, fluffy, and filled doughnuts. Very friendly and quick staff. Flavorful and large. These are worth every penny. Went back again a week later to take some into work. Every single person loved them. Personal faves are blueberry filled with crumble on top and bavarian/boston cream. Have not had a bad one yet! Fresh and ready to serve ya with a smile! A++

Uneaten variety of donuts. unfortunately, they are not that good. The toasted coconut is so dense and dry.

First time trying the donuts, unfortunately it's not as good as what people are raving. The toasted coconut is so dense and dry. The chocolate is just dry. All these other donuts are just mid. I think Wegman's donuts are better.

    Half-dozen donuts!

Rolled into Mechanicsburg Breakfast & Pizzeria at the extremely conventional breakfast hour…read moreof...5pm on a Friday. I was the only diner in the place, which honestly made me feel like I had just rented out a private pizza studio. Bonus: plenty of free parking right out front because it's tucked into a little strip mall. Before I even ordered, the menu caught my attention--an eclectic mashup of pizza and tacos, with breakfast versions of both served all day long. It's honestly the kind of menu you'd expect to stumble upon in a dream where the universe says, "Go ahead, choose joy." I originally planned to be "responsible" and just grab a slice to test the waters, but they didn't have any slices ready and would've had to make an entire pizza just for me. That felt like a sign from the Universe to stop lying to myself. If they were firing up the oven anyway, why not go big? So I took the cosmic hint and ordered their semi-Instagram-famous Mexican Breakfast Pizza: eggs, chorizo, mozzarella, cheddar... a 10" "personal" pizza (their wording, not mine) for $14. Twist my arm. Drinks live in the cooler by the door and you just grab whatever you want and pay at the end. As I was mid-debate between soda and water, the guy behind the counter popped out from behind the curtain and said, "Hey, since you're getting a breakfast pizza, if you want juice... orange, cranberry, apple... you can have it!" Sir. Apple juice is basically the secret key to my heart. SOLD. He also mentioned they have games and coloring books available--apparently dominoes is the crowd favorite here. Unexpected and charming. A little sign on my table caught my eye: "If you love it, leave a nice review." Challenge accepted. This place was already earning every star. Placed my order at 5:02, snagged a seat by the window to watch the sunset fade and the traffic chaos whirl by. The sign on the wall said "GOOD vibes, GREAT flavors," and let me tell you: an accurate mission statement. At 5:20, my pizza emerged in all its glory--and it. was. stunning. The crust hit that sweet middle ground between thin and deep dish: sturdy, doughy, beautifully crisped on the edges, and wonderfully yeasty. The eggs-to-cheese ratio was perfection, and the chorizo? A knockout. Spicy, chunky, far more personality than the usual breakfast-pizza sausage situation. I ate 1.5 slices and boxed up the rest, which will easily feed me for another three days because, yes, I believe in leftovers as a lifestyle. As I was leaving, the man behind the counter introduced himself--Sebastian--and he had been nothing but attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure I had a great experience. Service like that sticks with you. Total damage: $22.26 including tip. For great food, even better service, and days of leftovers? That's what I call winning. I'll definitely be back--probably at another totally normal breakfast hour.

Order at the counter and your food is brought out promptly. The owner made sure everything was good and kept asking if I needed anything. Making customers feel important is, well, important, so I'm glad they aim to please. Pizza slice was really good, could've been a bit more well done, but that's my preference. The birria quesadilla and (thick) consommé were out of this world excellent. Can't wait to come back and have that again and try some other dishes. All day breakfast is cool and a nice option to have in this area. Try this place and see for yourself.

You entered into a very barren space up front that felt completely unfinished, and then went to the rear of the restaurant in a completely separate room to be sat. In general, the food was ok...but nothing special. It's a diner. There are several of them within just a few miles. There is nothing about this place to set it apart from any of the others...except it is the closest to my house. A few drawbacks: -most of the breakfast meals came with homefries OR toast...not both. And if you wanted to get the potatoes and order a side of toast, it was grossly overpriced. -I received the wrong meal. Turns out the waitress ordered it wrong, wasn't the kitchen's fault. In her defense, she did give me a discount on our bill. -the entire restaurant just had an "unfinished" feel to it. I didn't feel like we were sitting in a dining room. It was just a bit weird to me. Would I go back? Probably...but there are a few diners I like a lot more within a very reasonable distance. It isn't going to be my top choice for sure.

Naturally, I had already done my due diligence (read: stalked the menu for a full week) and had a game plan. At the top of my list? The deviled eggs and the Kale Caesar salad with salmon. The only problem...I absolutely did not need $40 worth of food for lunch. So I quietly spent the week putting "deviled egg energy" out into the Universe, hoping my lunch partner would suggest splitting them. Manifestation is real, people. I arrived around 12pm and found plenty of parking out back in Watershed's designated lot, which is clearly labeled--a good thing, because parking in that area looks like it could get competitive if you're not paying attention. We had made a 12:15pm reservation (Monday lunch felt safe, but why risk it?), and our table on the enclosed patio was ready when we arrived. It was the perfect setup--sunny and bright, but still warm enough to be comfortable on a chilly day. The vibe was great, and our server was even better--friendly, attentive, and consistently checking in without being overbearing. Then it was time to order. I let my lunch partner go first and waited... "Do you want to try the deviled eggs as an appetizer?" Are you kidding me?!. YES. Yes, I did! We ordered the deviled eggs ($11) to share, and I followed through with my Kale Caesar salad ($15) topped with seared salmon (+$13), officially completing my week-long menu-stalking mission. The deviled eggs came out FAST, and in my excitement, I completely forgot to take a picture--which tells you everything you need to know. Each egg was topped with a cube of candied bacon that absolutely stole the show. Sweet, savory, and just the right texture to complement the creamy filling. We made quick work of all four--excellent start to the meal! Not long after, our lunches arrived, and my salad? Gorgeous. Like, actually exciting to look at. I dug in immediately and it delivered. The mix of shaved brussels sprouts, kale, and romaine gave it great texture, the dressing was well-balanced, and the red onion didn't overpower the rest of the flavors. But my favorite part? The garlic parmesan crouton crumble. No chasing rogue croutons around the plate--just perfectly distributed crunch in every bite. Genius! The portion size was generous, too--I made it through about half before calling it and boxing the rest for dinner later. By the time we were wrapping up, the enclosed patio had filled up significantly, which tells me this is a popular lunch spot--and for good reason. The food is solid, the atmosphere is great, and the service was spot on. That said...$40 for deviled eggs, a salad and water is a bit steep for an everyday lunch. For me, this feels more like a "treat yourself," client meeting, or special occasion kind of place rather than a regular rotation spot. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I be casually popping in every week? Probably not. But those deviled eggs? Totally worth manifesting!
