Good pizza. Even good vegan pizza. The place is small and can be loud, but atmosphere and area is classy.

Our team at work does a summer team-building experience each year. I pulled myself out of organizing it. That task went to two other colleagues. However, I got pulled into the planning details as a consultant, especially when it came down to finding a place to eat. I'm glad that they consulted me. I really should charge a fee... haha! My manager originally said that we should go to The Keg. I immediately shot that suggestion down because our vegetarians on our team would be miserable eating salad and bread. We needed a more inclusive eatery for lunch. We were doing pottery painting at Crock a Doodle. While one of my peers was setting things up with this store, the staffer suggested dining at 850 Degrees Pizzeria, which was across the street. I looked at the menu. The wood-fired pizzas looked incredible. It also had gluten-free and vegetarian options. Perfect! My friend and I had parked on a side street. Our manager parked behind us. We walked over to this eatery together. It's free parking on a side street. You can park on Lake Shore Boulevard, but it's paid parking until 6 pm. We were the first folks to arrive at noon. We had a reservation and got a long table for the ten of us. I had looked at the menu before coming here. I knew what pizza I'd be ordering. I also ordered an appetizer to share with others. I got the following items: - Shiny peach cider - Meatballs with garlic bread - Oh, Canada pizza My Shiny peach cider came out. I got a glass with ice. I poured my drink into the glass. The peach flavour was subtle. It tasted watered down. My friend to my right got the Shiny apple cider. She let me have a sip. It was yummy. I should have got that flavour instead. My meatballs with garlic bread came out next. OMG! This appetizer was incredible. The meatballs were beef. They were juicy. It was effortless cutting through them. You can also get vegan meatballs that are a mixture of chickpeas and mushrooms. The sauce was bright and fresh. The garlic bread was really pizza bread with garlic and butter on it. It was excellent dipping it into the sauce and eating it with the meatballs. I shared them with my manager and friend across from me. They loved them, too. Whenever I see a cracked egg on a pizza, I have to order it. So, I got the Oh, Canada. I love that each pizza has a Canadian-related backstory to its name. As a hockey fan, it was nice seeing Lord Stanley as a pizza. Oh, Canada had maple bacon, egg, fior di latte cheese, and tomato sauce. This pizza was excellent. The maple bacon was wonderful. It has a smokiness with the maple flavour. My egg was runny when I sliced through it. It was excellent with the tomato sauce. I highly recommend getting it if you love maple bacon and a runny egg. It felt like breakfast on a pizza. The crust had pillowy, chewy edges and was crispy underneath. Depending on the type of pizza, the base can be soggy because it's thin. I had a slice of my friend's Group of Seven pizza, which was a bit soggy. My Oh, Canada was fine. The Group of Seven pizza had goat cheese, tomatoes, spinach, roasted red peppers, olives, parmesan cheese, and fior di latte cheese. Maybe it got soggy because it had more cheese and toppings than my pizza. My manager got the Grand River pizza. It's essentially a wild, fancy version of a meat lover's pizza. It had spicy Calabrese salami, local ham, wild boar sausage, Niagara prosciutto, fior di latte cheese, and tomato sauce. I got to enjoy a slice. It had a spicy kick to it from the salami that was delightful. I loved the sausage that didn't taste gamey. The prosciutto looked like pretty ribbons on the pizza that were delicious, with a smokey subtle taste to them. Yum! You can get dairy-free cheese on request. Some of my colleagues opted for pasta. The beef ravioli and pappadelle di funghi looked fantastic. I need to return to get one or both of these dishes. They loved their food. I used the washroom before we left this eatery to do pottery painting. The women's washroom was clean. The downside was that the mirror was mounted rather low. I saw my midsection only through the mirror. If you're shorter, you'll be fine seeing your reflection without doing a squat. I thanked the man making all these pizzas in the kitchen. The pizzas were delicious. He appreciated the kind words. He worked so hard to get our pizzas to us in a timely manner and did it seamlessly. I had an excellent experience. This place is on lakeshore on south side not too far from the Timmy's. Sit down or takeout. No slices. Food (4.25/5) - tried two different ones: - St Johns - equivalent of a margherita. Was pretty good. - Bloor By The Park - pepperoni bacon and cremini mushrooms. Was an excellent variety. Both were cooked in stone oven Napoli style. Crust was nice and chewy and the San Marzano sauce was really good. Service (4/25/5) - it was pretty quick turnaround until both were ready and friendly service. Atmosphere (4/5) - smaller place with some tables and chairs. I can imagine it might get bit loud when at capacity. Overall (4.25/5) - it's a very solid choice and I will definitely repeat to try out some of the other pizzas and maybe some of the other dishes. We dined here with friends. It is a popular spot and the service and food were excellent. The range of choices is good and they cater for all dietary choices. The ambiance is lively but not loud. Obviously this is a popular place for ordering delivery but plenty of seating is also available. Calabrese salami, fior di latte cheese and tomatoe sauce are the ingredients for the David Bolland pizza. Who knew three simple ingredients could make such a tasty pizza. There's a bit of a kick from the calabrese salami so this may not be suitable for folks that can't handle some spice. read more

This pizzeria is quite popular in Etobicoke and receives a lot of hype that I was excited to finally try it out! From browsing the menu, they had a great variety of pizzas to choose from with so many options for both meat-lovers and vegans, I was really impressed by the options (so tough to decide!). On my first visit, I ended up going with the Bloor by the Park pizza. The pizza was thin but the crust was more on the thick side and had a nice chewy texture. Everything was amazing from the tomato sauce to the quality of the toppings. It was really good that I ended up going a second visit to get another popular pizza (Grand River) and try out a pasta dish (Pappardelle di Funghi). The pizza was good and the pasta dish was delicious. The only minor complaint was that the meats were a bit too salty but besides that it was good. This place definitely deserves the praise they receive! I would recommend visiting this spot if you're in the Etobicoke area when you're craving wood oven pizzas and pasta. read more

This place BLEW my mind. A few thoughts. Who knew that vegan pizza could be this good?! Such amazingly thin and delicious dough!! What fun pizza menu assortment!! Came here with my boyfriend and another couple on a Friday evening. We asked for a spot on their patio, which is quite well shielded and not bad for something right beside the street. I got the Shinny, a mushroom pizza, but asked for vegan cheese. Mostly for my lactose intolerant tummy but also because I've heard great things. My boyfriend got the Grand River (the waitress said it's a great choice, one of their most popular), which comes with wild boar sausage and prosciutto. Both pizzas were amazing! Super thin and crispy crust with a beautifully chewy crust and great leopard spots (though burnt in some places). I loved my Shinny pizza! The mushrooms added a great earthy and umami flavour, and the vegan cheese was surprisingly like real cheese! It melted well and was stringy too. My only complaint was that it was a touch wet in the centre - could barely pull apart the pizza as the toppings would fall from the centre. My boyfriend's Grand River was good too - drier, meatier, but also saltier. I found it a touch too salty from the cured meats, but wonderful. I was stuffed by the end of the meal, but we naturally ordered dessert as well. We got the brownie, but kept on eyeing my friend's chocolate cake. It was tall and handsome, but we found ours a tad too dense and heavy. Overall, really enjoyed the meal and cannot wait to try it again! Wow, is all I can say, I went there today, had a promotion, all week different things, for their xth anniversary, today was $10 pizzas, so I went in for one, at the crack of opening, so at 11 I called, they answered, even though they open at 1130, I asked if I could pre-order, no problem at all, so shot down, 1130 on the nose, they were open, no nonsense business, love that, lady was nice on the phone, nice in person, didn't even have to wait 5 minutes, for a Long Branch, eggplant, goat cheese, red peppers, sauce, out came a nice sized box, no puny by any means, when I opened it up in my car, at work, I literally Whoo'd!, literally, it looks so good, 8 small slices, 8!, for $10!, amazing deal, and it tasted great, nice charred crispy crust, wasn't crispy in the middle, should have asked for well-done, but it didn't take away from the flavor, just have to fold the slices, like I said TASTED GREAT!, ate 6 slices, nice left overs, plus I'm gonna go back for another for dinner, it's that good, this place has a new customer for life, all it took was a simple promotion, great customer service, which should be the norm, and a wonderful product, that is well worth the regular price, can't wait to try their pasta and appetizers, I am sure I won't be disappointed, boom, ps - it's very nice inside, quant yet spacious, classy yet down to earth, and in the summer they have a nice parking lot patio, so there, read more

O Canada had good quality smoked pork loin & a nice sweetness from the maple syrup while not being too sweet. I came here for dinner on a Sunday with a friend who was craving for a good pizza place. As we enter the restaurant we are greeted with this unique scent reminiscent of an airport checking through the front counter. We were seated immediately by their friendly staff who immediately offered us something to drink and we requested tap water. Looking at their menu it's very straight forward some salads appetizers pasta pizzas and antipasto. It's not your traditional classic Italian flavoured pizzas but it's their own twist. W proceed to order bruschetta 850 salad and 2 pizzas. Their salad is good fresh and on the tasty sour note. The bruschetta is very good and tasty no need seasonings. I love the crust of their pizza chewy and moist (still no comparison to the best Neapolitan style pizza I had in Naples, Italy). I find the sauce above average and topping are good. Overall I enjoyed 850 degrees pizza . I had the Charcuterie board, polenta, ravioli, and a few of the pizzas . Everything was great except the ravioli. The sauce wasn't very authentic and I found the filling of beef to be very dry. A few of my friends ordered the salads and they looked amazing. I would def try it again read more

I now agree with all the positive reviews on 850 Degrees Pizza, it's great. I would give this restaurant 5-stars but I had to ask for the spicy oil and there was an older gentleman in the restaurant who was coughing allot. Thin handmade aromatic pizzas!!! The pizzeria is located near Longbranch TTC station and there is an ample of street parking there. The place is always busy during weekends. They offer pizzas, salads and pasta along with some sides. On yelp check-in, you get a complimentary garlic bread which is handmade bread with garlic butter on top. It is delicious! They offer cheese platter for 12$, it is a steal deal. The platter is huge. They have salad in 2 sizes, for me, even the smaller size was way more than enough. The pizzas: a very thin pizza-base with aromatic sauce and fresh toppings, Italian style pizza! I loved it. It looks big when it arrives but it is not that heavy on your tummy :) Do not forget to check their seasonal menu. Drinks Menu: They have a decent collection of beers & Wines, along with some non- alcoholic drinks. I love their 3.5$ 591 ml of Calypso Ice Tea/ Lemonade. Wow their pizza is tiny! Not even enough for 1 person and definitely not shareable. No wonder they don't write sizes on their website, I was very disappointed. The taste was alright, not bad but not great either. Not what you would expect for the price you pay. Huge bummer! Edit: thanks for your very informative reply. You should really try and inform your customers that your pizza is small. For the reference the small size is usually between 10 and 12 inches. Came here on Canada Day and was able to get a spot on the patio. The patio tables are spaced very well for physical distancing, and some even have plexiglass partitions between. Our server was extremely diligent in ensuring everything (chairs, tables, menus) was clean and sanitized before seating us. The pizza can be described as Neapolitan-esque - thin crust, soft pizza centre, nice char. The toppings are generous and fresh. We started with a rapini and polenta. It was not bad. Loved the bittersweet rapini and rocket combination. The spicy sauce wasn't that spicy. Wish the rapini was a bit more charred. The pizzas are 12" size. The Grand River is a meat lover's dream. Even though there are 5 types of meat, each type is generously added. The Rocket is very clean tasting. It feels like your palette is cleansed with each mouthful of arugula. All that said, I think the star is definitely the dough and crust. My partner often leaves her crust and I will for sure clean that right up. The crust can stand on its own, tasting like freshly baked bread. You can tell this place is a local institution with the constant takeout and pickup orders. I unfortunately had a very bad experience here. I came here with a group of friends for a pleasant outing but received perhaps the worst attitude/service from the staff. We had requested patio dining with our reservation and upon arrival, was informed they only had dine-in. No problem, but the attitude and frustration we received was absolutely uncalled for. One of my friend's PREGNANT wife asked if it would be possible to put a couple tables together (a polite, expected suggestion) and our waitress literally said "why don't you do it yourself" or "why don't you show me how it's done?". She also snarled and was very condescending to our group. This was hurtful, bigoted and uncalled for and no amount of food would revive my appetite after such treatment. She is pregnant, how do you expect her to do your job for you? For a restaurant with so many reviews, I truly expected more. We were polite, they were not. Cute restaurant on the Lakeshore. They have their own pizza oven so thin pizzas are delicious. They have a good assortment of flavours and service is quick and friendly. It was my last day in Toronto before I flew back to Los Angeles, so I yelped a place close by to where I was staying for lunch. This place had good reviews so my cousin, uncle and I came here for lunch. We were their first customers when we promptly arrived at 11:30am and decided to sit on their patio outside since it was such a nice day out. Our waitress quickly came out and brought us water and took our drink order. The placemat is the menu so we were easily able figure out what we wanted to order. Their menu consist of various thin wood-fired pizzas (8 or 12 inches), build you own, salads, and pastas. They has several bottled beers, wine, and a pomegranate ginger ale which was so refreshing. We started with the antipasto plate and the free garlic bread with check-in which came with two different meats, cheese, olives, eggplant, artichokes, mushrooms, and roasted vegetables. It was a great starter to share and the garlic bread was great. Then we ordered three different pizzas to share, the rocket which had arugula and ham, the oh canada with ham and egg, and the superman with spinach, olives, and pepperoni. We tried to order the muskoka pizza with sausage, but they didn't have any sausage. The pizzas were overall good, but not as crispy as I was hoping. I also thought they were a bit skimpy of the tomato sauce and cheese on all the pizzas. Of the three we tried, the oh canada was my fav because an egg on top makes everything taste better. They also give you chile oil on the side which I used to dip the crust in. Service was very pleasant and attentive. Our waitress was great at checking up on us with us choosing to sit outside. Great little place. Ended up here right before closing last night with my brother looking for something to eat. Since we happened here super late we were told we had take out as our only option. Totally cool seeing as we got there five minutes before their posted closing time. The place was super cute and very clean. I ordered the Canuck pizza, free garlic bread (thanks Yelp for the check in offer!), a side salad, and the pasta al poppette (spelling?). Everything was really delicious! Loved the homemade pepperoni on the pizza. The salad was simple and could have been a bit more fresh (this is my only complaint and cause of one star demerit lol) and the house made dressing served with the greens was so good (basically like a creamy garlic - yum!). The pasta was awesome, the sauce and the meatballs were great. Garlic bread was also super tasty! I was in town visiting a friend on Friday night and they had a recommendation for a really good Pizza place, so we ended up coming here. At first glance, the restaurant seems wholesome enough - It gives off an very old fashioned "Pizzaria" vibe and you can actually see the staff preparing and cooking the pizza in the oven in plain sight. We arrived kind of late so the restaurant was not as busy as it might have been during the lunch/dinner rush, but it was still dececntly crowded on a Friday evening around 9PM. There was also an outdoor patio should you choose that option. I didn't know about the Yelp garlic bread promo, and to be honest I'm too far to come back to this location to ever take advantage of it, but it's good for those who know about it beforehand. As for the menu, I noticed they had some appetizer and pasta dishes but I only really looked at the pizzas since that is what they specialize in. They have a very good selection of different types of pizzas with unique names (mostly Canadian themed, which is a nice surprise). I decided to get the Oh Canada, my friends tried the Canuck and Grand River pizzas of which I had a slice each to try. The service was prompt and polite, although it took a while for our food to arrive (understandable as the pizzas need to be baked). They provided a large water container at the table which is something that I prefer over having to call over a server every time you want a refill for a drink. The Oh Canada pizza reminds me of a hawaiian pizza without the pineapple - there's a sweetness to it that I liked, and the egg in the middle was a nice touch. The canuck was kind of like a pepperoni pizza, with the pepperoni slices being really spicy. I read that they make the pepperoni inhouse and you can tell because it's actually thicker and spicier than the regular kind. The Grand River was a meat-lover-esque type pizza with a bunch of meats trying to overpower each other, I guess it's all right if you enjoy that type of pizza. We stayed a little past closing which made me feel a little bad, so I tipped them a bit more than I usually would. Overall I would say the pricing is fair, quality of food and service are both excellent. If there was a closer location I would definitely go back. read more

If you want delicious wood oven pizza, come here. We went here with a large group for my brother's birthday. Even though they are a small restaurant they were able to accommodate. We ordered the Superman pizza and the wild mushroom salad, both were filling and enough for two people. They were delicious with fresh ingredients.
