Stopped in for a quick donut to reward myself for a run. The worker was friendly and gave us all a sample of the vegan strawberry donut. It was interesting, as I don't think I've ever had a sourdoughnut before. I ended up ordering the brooklyn blackout chocolate donut, which was good, although not quite as indulgent as I was hoping. One of my favs! The service is always fast and friendly, like they know I need a doughnut ASAP. The vibe is very grab-and-go--walk in, secure the doughnuts and drink, walk out happier. Even when I order through Uber Eats, there are zero issues: the doughnuts show up warm, intact, and never squished (a true miracle). I was in the area with my family and stopped by here to get some coffee and doughnuts. The attendee at the front, Bicker (sorry if I got it wrong), was super friendly and informative. He was patient with me and my niece trying to decide which delicious doughnut we would want. I got the Iced Glazed Vanilla coffee and it was delicious. Hot chocolate for the kids were good, but since its "real" hot chocolate they thought it tasted weird. Only because its not processed and has real chocolate in it haha. We decided to get the tres Leche, strawberry, blackout, and red velvet. Strawberry one tasted like a Pocky stick, delicious! Tres Leche was a second fave amongst the kids, and then the blackout. Full of flavor and right amount of sweetness. The red velvet was the least favorite as it didn't give much red velvet flavor and was lacking something we couldn't put our finger on it. Overall really good doughnuts and can't wait to try others. The place is in a fancy looking lobby building and across the college. We went on the weekend so it was not as busy during that time. I have to be honest, I thought the doughnuts were average at best and overpriced in terms of the size. Nothing screamed out to me in terms of flavor. Here are some of the doughnuts that we tried: - Lucky Shamrock - Limited addition menu item for St. Patrick's Day. Interestingly, this had a lemony glaze on top, but this didn't taste much like an Irish soda bread. - Tres Leches - a good basic cake doughnut, but there was nothing tres leches about this. There was barely any cream on it! No taste of condensed milk. I was expecting for the doughnut to be soaked in milk. - Wild Blueberry - probably the best doughnut out of the ones we ordered. This one had blueberries inside and more tartiness to it. But unfortunately, it tasted quite similar to the other ones. I wish the doughnuts could have also been served warmer. I cannot say enough about how much I love Doughnut Plant. Although it is not celiac-friendly (as per their website), their gluten free donuts are amazing. They usually change flavors every month (which makes me both happy and sad) and this month was the best. They had three donuts I could actually eat (I could not eat their past almond one, unfortunately) and each one was fabulous. The berry donut was my favorite, followed by the mocha and then the pecan but honestly, they were all great. The staff were kind enough to twist-tie the wrappers so they stayed fresh (I retied them after taking the pictures). With most gluten free foods you can really tell the difference but with these, I sincerely can't. I hope Doughnut Plant never discontinues their gluten free donuts. read more

I ordered all the donuts in advance so that I could just pick up and leave as I had to be somewhere. However, they did have my order but sold out of one of the donuts. They gave me a donut of my choice to replace the vanilla bean and blackberry jam, which sold out and added in mini Hanukkah ones, too. Which was super nice of them and a great deal! The other ones that I got were red velvet, tres leches, peanut butter, and blackberry jam, creme brulee, and wild blueberry. Out of all of them, the wild blueberry was the best flavor. I love Doughnut Plant. The doughnuts are excellent, the limited edition and seasonal specials are fun and interesting, employees are friendly, they don't use eggs (so grateful for this because of a family allergy), the drinks are refreshing (I usually get the seasonal agua fresca), and now I can add to the list, the Wonder Wheel is amazing. I picked up the mini version of the tres leches Wonder Wheel on my recent visit, and it might be my favorite ice cream sandwich ever. It was texturally perfect (usually my biggest issue with ice cream sandwiches), and stayed intact for quite a while without becoming a melty mess. The other doughnuts we got on that visit (the raspberry Pride doughnut - I look forward to that one every year, the limited edition maple doughnut, and the blueberry cake doughnut) were all great, but I can't stop thinking about that Wonder Wheel. Price: I will say that these are a bit on the pricey side. Spent $25 on 6. Service: it took a while to be serviced even though there was only one other person in there before me. There seemed to be only one person behind the counter. Which i guess is appropriate since this location is not large. But a bit annoying to wait in a small indoor location when there isn't really a line. I was provided with a box and offered a bag as well on my way out which was appreciated. Woman at the register was friendly. Ambiance: happy to have a location in Queens. Location is pretty small. Very much a grab and go spot. I tried this place out when I was at the Uber office. It's located right when you enter the building. Nice decor and they have a lot of different types of donuts. I am a fan of black and white cookies and really wanted to try the donut version. I will warn you it was very pricey so don't be surprised. Donuts are already prepared making it quick to grab and go! This place is open early, closes late and very conveniently located between Sunnyside and LIC. I have had Doughnut Plant donuts catered in for various events, but was never able to get a fresh donut on my own. I popped in and got the Coconut Cream Doughnut with a cold brew. The doughnut was light and fluffy. Its unique square shape was also fun and different. The filling was also light, tasted like natural coconut and the cream was lightly sweetened, unlike the thick syrup-like custards at most other places. This helped maintain the integrity of the coconut flavor. The cold brew was also surprisingly good, which is something I often worry about, as most donut shops have watered down coffee, but this one delivered. Been looking for a creme brûlée doughnut forever, this one did not disappoint. I ordered the creme brûlée, blackberry jam, and a vanilla iced coffee. The creme brûlée was a 9/10. Flavor was spot on. Creamy, fresh, sugary- exactly what I was expecting. Only downside is the size is so small! For the blackberry jam, it was a 7/10. It was good just not great. The taste of lard (or whatever its fried in) overpowered the taste of the vanilla bean glaze and jam filling. The iced coffee was great, toasty and not too sweet.
