I am not complaining about this bill - okay, I got the service so I would pay them, even though neither I was told at that time of service. But with concerning about too much dental cost I paid this year for my children, I asked them for a pre-estimation for one of my kids upcoming treatment so I can better know how much I would pay for the service. The receptionist refused to submit any pre-estimation because she doesn't know what exactly my daughter would get for her next appointment. Well, she had an appointment in two weeks and they better know what kind of service they would provide with. I worked at an insurance company before, and majority of dental offices submit pre-estimation for themselves and customers for better idea how much would be paid by insurance and would be patient's responsibility. It is a simple paper work any dental provider can provide to their customer because they know the service codes and their service fees that we don't know in advance. She finally said I may pay around $400 if my insurance doesn't pay any, and I need figure it out my responsibility on my own. I asked them to cancel my upcoming appointment, she said "Okay, perfect!"

I'm so glad Country Club dental proved me wrong!! The front staff here is superb. They are friendly and available to answer questions. It has always been easy to schedule and reschedule my appointments. I also have not had any problems with them accepting my insurance. They even offer a membership plan so that you don't need insurance to have dental services here if you become a member! I was seen by Dr. Gray and his assistant Sammie. Both are absolutely fabulous. They are very friendly, funny, and personable. Two weeks ago I had a dental cleaning. Sammie was very gentle taking topical pictures of my teeth. I think there was another device used to detect the density of my teeth too. I was impressed (and never got this type of service in Chicago!). They really check for everything here! Dr. Gray thoroughly reviewed my teeth, X-rays, gum recession and density and photos of my teeth. I was really impressed with the examination and the technology used here. They really care about dental health. At the end of my appointment I was even given an option of a manual toothbrush or a sonicare type replacement head for my electric toothbrush. WHAT?!!? My mind was blown that I had these options! During my appointment I had mentioned that my Chicago dentist had recommended to fill cavities of two of my wisdom teeth and that I wanted to move forward with that procedure. I also mentioned that I was prescribed some special toothpaste to prevent further decay and wanted that refilled. Dr. Gray immediately called in the prescription to my pharmacy to refill the toothpaste and we scheduled another appointment for a cavity filling. Done and done! Today....two weeks later...I just got my two cavities filled and felt compelled to write this Yelp review for Dr Gray and his team at Country Club Dental (and these days I'm only writing reviews for those places that are truly special to me). I'm not the type of person that is usually scared of the dentist, but I was anxious today because of my small mouth and possible difficulty maneuvering within the small space. But they had all the tools necessary to make this experience SO EASY. My small mouth was not an issue at all and I did not feel any pain! I had to open my eyes every so often just to check if my mouth was still being worked on because I was so comfortable and didn't feel anything during the procedure! They also had a device (that amazed me because I never had it in Chicago) that allowed me to comfortably rest my mouth, while still keeping it open, and sucked up the particles/water in my mouth during the procedure. I'll be annoyed if Dr. Gray gets booked up because of this review but life isn't all about me so I'll be okay to share him and his team. ;-) I initially heard about Country Club dental from a friend who raved about Dr. Fung. I'm sure all the dentists here are wonderful but I'm sticking with Dr. Gray. =)

My son had a ton of cavities when he was a bit younger, and they did such a good job with him. The dentist even called us those nights my son had work done to check in and see how he was feeling. A couple scrapes into the cleaning, and I told her to stop, it felt like she was causing damage to my teeth. I left Dental Professionals and drive to my previous dentist (I changed due to job location change) I asked them to check that there had been no damage. Thankfully there was no damage to the teeth. However, they went ahead and did the cleaning for me. There was no pain, no extreme prying at my teeth, and no rudeness.

I had complained about the pain over the next few days. I began wondering at that point as to whether the doctor should have done a root canal. The doctor sent me to another doctor that "evaluated" it, and decided a root canal was not necessary at this time. I am on Social Security, and that second opinion cost me over $300 out-of-pocket. So now I have to find another dentist to fix this problem.

It was a herculean task to get him to communicate with the other professionals he referred me to. He delayed my treatment and wouldn't even say hello, whenever he had to interact with me (which were rare occasions). I assumed that he didn't realize the difficulty of the case, and knew he was probably not capable of doing the job. He could have just said so, instead of treating me in such an unethical, inhumane and humiliating fashion at the most vulnerable time in my life. That is when I decided I needed to take my son (3.5 y/o) to the dentist I have personally trusted for years who has taken the best care of my teeth with having my best interest in quality of life and financial interest. When we got there he reviewed the X-rays, looked at his teeth and then explained to me what his treatment plan would be. It wasn't that the pediatric dentist was wrong, but just was not necessary to put a 3.5 year old through all of that. He then treated my son and was amazing with him, along with his super friendly staff. The location is easy to find. The building looks nice from the outside. When I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the front desk. Its a nice open floor plan. I checked in and filled out my health questionnaire. My appointment started on time. I was at ease right away with my hygienist, Brooke. She was very nice and was easy to talk to. She really had her work cut out for her since it had been a minute since I had an appointment. She listened to me when I had questions about my appointment and played along with me when I let her pick the flavor to use to clean my teeth. My dentist, Dr Erickson, came in and was very kind as well. I really appreciated the time they spent with me. I am happy with the move I made to the new dentist. I hope to have the same great experience going forward. As a bonus as I was getting ready to leave. I looked out the back window and a herd of city deer came up and were wandering the yard.
