I should have realized that on every visit to this office I was the only patient when i got there and when I left... not sure how they stay in business. When the Dr. could not figure out why my hearing was so muffled and i had so much pressure in it, he basically gave up. If he can't treat you with a pharmacy of drugs you are out of luck. read more

Douglas Smith is one of the best doctors in the valley. I had horrible strep throat all throughout 2023 as an adult and he was so supportive of helping me get my tonsils removed. I cried and told him how much he helped my life. As a side note - I also had horrible psoriasis and getting my tonsils removed really helped my skin to go into remission. Dr. DOUGLAS SMITH is an outstanding ENT doctor with a great bedside manner. He is always positive and smiling when interacting with me. Also, my condition turned out to be outside of his field of practice (neurology related issues I am having)... however, Dr. Smith still always helped me out with any referrals I asked for as well as helped me navigate through this complicated issue. My ears were clogged, so I tried to make an appointment with one of the top reviewed ENTs in the East Valley. They were booked a week or two out and wanted to charge $320 without insurance! So I called Dr. Smith's office and got in to see him a few days later. Super nice guy, my appointment was for 3:40, they saw me early and I was out of there before 3:50. The charge was $120. Perfect experience all around, from the office staff to the doctor's assistant to Dr. Smith himself. Highly recommend! read more

Had an issue for three weeks with my left ear that two other doctors (including the 'world famous' Mayo Clinic) could not diagnose correctly. Dr. Smith took one look at my ear correctly diagnosed my condition and prescribed a regimen of drugs that cleared the infection in a matter of days. For three weeks I had trouble hearing. Had I only gone here first, I could have saved myself at least two weeks of frustration and mild fear of not knowing what was going on. Thank you, Dr. Smith for knowing your stuff, being friendly, and getting to the bottom of my problem. Dr. Smith is friendly knowledgeable doctor and his care and treatment are first rate and for this I would award 4 1/2 stars. Follow up is different story. During my AM appointment today Dr. Smith said he would call pharmacy with my two prescriptions. At 2:45 pharmacy had not received prescriptions so left message with Dr's assistant. At 4:10 pharmacy still not received Dr's order so left another message with Dr's assistant. No return call or prescription equates to 0 Customer Service. I'll look elsewhere for future ENT needs. I'm happy to recommend Dr. Smith but not assistants or support staff. read more

I live in Hawaii and was visiting our Son in Chandler,AZ for a week.. I have chronic ear wax problems where hardened ear wax sticks to my ear drums and needs to be removed with forceps by an ENT. I had neglected to have this procedure done for the past year and it was affecting my hearing.. I called Dr. Smith's office on Friday and got an appointment, as a new patient, to be seen by the Dr. for mid- morning on Monday.. Andrea, their scheduler, made that possible. I showed up on time for my appointment on Monday, filled out all my paperwork in less than 10 minutes and immediately was taken to the exam room by Kelly, the Doctor's nurse. Dr. Smith came right in.. He was very nice, very gentle and totally professional. He asked a few questions about my condition and I explained my symptoms.. He Then he examined me; found and removed the annoying wax in both ears. That was it. He said everything was fine now.. I was free to go home.. My experience with Dr. Smith and his entire office staff was extremely friendly and professional. I would highly recommend him for anyone needing ENT care. My local doctor could not get some cotton Q-Tip swabs out of my ear.....yeah I know at my age I should know better! I called Tues & got an appointment for Wed. My appoint was at 3:40. I got there at 3, sat down to read my magazine & they called my name within 5 mintues. I saw Dr Smith. A polite, friendly guy. He gave me no grief about my stoooopid mistake. Within minutes the cotton was out...no pain...WooHoo. I was out the door by 3:30! I would recommend this wonderful Dr to everyone. When I made my appointment I went through all the insurance and the dates that would work for both the patient and the doctor. I arrived 1/2 hour early. When the receptionist called me to the desk she ask for my I.d and insurance card. I told her I gave my insurance documents over the phone and I gave her my id. She said she needs my ins card and I did not have it she then proceed to turn me the patent away and said I could not see the doctor. I have had ringing in my ears and dizziness and she turned me away? Will never go back. I wonder if the doctor knew what she did? read more
