The estimate was 1500.00 for the door plus tax, shipping and installation. I paid less than 1300.00 for the refrigerator itself so I declined the repairs but still had to pay 140.00 for the service call. A day or so later I decided to look into it myself and found some videos online to diagnose the problem. Turns out the icemaker needed replacement, I ordered a new one and installed it myself, 90.00 parts and a little bit of my time and my fridge is making ice. An update to this review: after posting the manager of A Action reached out to me and apologized for the misdiagnosis of my fridge and offered a refund for the service call. He was friendly and wanted to make things right, he also made me aware that they have had a lot of problems with my model and usually quote it for door replacement and mentioned a possible class action lawsuit against whirlpool for a poor design.

He was very helpful and we opted to have Joshua (owner) come to our house for an evaluation. Joshua arrived on time and provided great customer service. He explained our options in a way that we understood. We selected the replacement option. Joshua brought the unit same day and installed it, since had it in his inventory. Our old unit had been discontinued. He provided Cental Vac training 101 to us, so we knew how to change filters and attach the hoses. He was very patient and friendly. Excellent customer service. I called AAA appliance repair to come take a look at a refrigerator that wasn't getting to temp in…read morethe freezer. When I called they were not interested in the model # of the fridge and said they would send a tech the following day. I was met with a rude tech who came to my house, opened the freezer a few times & said he thinks it's the control board. At no point did the tech pull the fridge out of its cubby, at no point did the tech inspect the fan or wire harness for the freezer, at no point did the tech even look at the control board which he claimed needed replacing, all he did was open my freezer & confirm what I already knew (that it wasn't getting cold) he said he would see if the control board was still available/discontinued & would follow up. They called this morning to let me know the part was no longer available & nothing could be done. I paid $100+ for absolutely nothing, AAA appliance should have taken my model number over the phone when I had first called for service and tried providing it, had they done this they could have come to the same conclusion (parts not available) without scheduling a tech. Beware consumers, this companies schtick is making money off of "diagnostic inspections" which in my instance should've been avoided as it was completely unnecessary due to unavailability of parts.
