My favorite place for breakfast! Staff is great and the service is quick. Many times I place an order for pick-up for my son. He loves their Carne Asada smothered in red sauce. It is really good. Really can't go wrong with any of the food items on the menu. ALL of it is great! Go early or later in the afternoon to get better seating. Come hungry. I esp come here w out of towners. My Japanese and German friends really enjoy the place. Green chili is solid which is a serious criterion for a Colorado breakfast joint. And the jelly/jam/preserve thing that seems to rotate is very good. We really like this place! The food is pretty good and the entree sizes are pretty big. Great place if you are hungry! The food has a homemade feeling to it which is great. The green chili and Asada are amazing! The only reason I didn't give five stars is the atmosphere is "cheap" like the tables and chairs are cheap and the eating area is packed like a sardine can. Really close to each other. Also every time I order a cappuccino it's lukewarm warm so I've started to just get the coffee which is good. Service is always good. This place is horrible. I have been there 3 times and each time the food got worse and worse. I have also talked to many people who feel the same. The last time we went was the worst. I ordered a burger. It came out served on sub sandwich bread and the burger was in the shape of a really long oval (was really thrown off when I saw this). When I took a bite I literally spit out the food. The burger was so charred that it crumbled to ash in my mouth. It is important to note that this is not an exaggeration, this really did happen. I waited to see the waiter to let him know what had happened but ended up waiting about 20min and still saw no one. The host was nowhere to be found, no other waiters or waitresses, no workers period. I had to walk over the where the kitchen and sat on a chair waiting for someone to come out. After about 2-5 min someone saw me. I showed them the food and they were shocked, they apologized and took it back. 1 HOUR later they brought me out a new burger, it was exactly as the first. I explained that maybe the grill was too high and asked why it took an hour (we were the only customers in the entire restaurant on a Saturday mid day). They did not respond and ignored me when I was talking to them. They then brought the check and we explained that we would not be paying for inedible food. After going back and forth they finally agreed not to charge us. We left 2 hours later hungry and upset. This place has a notorious bad reputation in my neighborhood, amongst friends, and family members. It is a shock that they are still open. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. read more

I love Dougs!! Everything there is handmade and flavorful! Ive never had bad service quite yet. The last time i tried the buffalo chicken wrap lol omg im in love its my new favorite thing, tried it at the Boot grill here in loveland and it just wasnt even close. It is conveniently located and there's a lot of parking nearby as it's next to the King Soopers. My husband had the carne asada papa's and the green chili was far from the high standards we've come to expect in Colorado. I had the rancher -- huge plate of country fried steak on top of hash browns smothered in gravy with a biscuit on the side. Again, the issue was in the sauce, the gravy mostly tasted like flour. Everything on both of our plates could have used a healthy helping of salt and pepper, if not any other seasonings. Even the biscuit was less than desirable. Would maybe try again at lunch, it's hard to mess up a burger, but won't be back for breakfast. Also, they do not serve alcohol for the brunchers out there. read more

We got the Sharon and Drizzle omelets with biscuits and homemade jam. The omelets were very unique and flavorful, which was surprising for me because I'm normally not a fan of omelets! The biscuits were honestly huge and the jam of the day was amazing. The service was super friendly and accommodating as well. We did very much enjoy this restaurant. As soon as We walked in We were greeted by a man. Hopefully he was THE Doug of Doug's diner, but after some investigation I think it was an impersonator of Doug he looked more like a Ben or a Jack. We got seated right away. All of the staff was very welcoming and friendly but not suspiciously friendly. The temperature was at a fair 75°. The menus were VERY well designed. Prices were fair, out bill came out to about $10 per person. The food came out hot and quick, not to hot more of a ... warm-hot. Would I go again? This was our first visit to Dougs and we will definitely eat back. The portions are huge, the food is AMAZING, Doug stopped by our table twice, the prices were fair, and it is very family friendly. An overpriced Denny's at best, but even Denny's has better quality food. Let me start by saying that after reading the reviews, my family and I were pumped about coming to eat here. The reviews boasted large portions and tasty food. Though the food portions were large, the food was disgusting. We went on a Friday night around 4:30 pm when things were slow. My family and I had placed a to-go order a little over 20 minutes before and were coming to pick up our order. The servers were friendly and welcoming. That is the only reason we rated the restaurant 2 stars, but no matter how genuinely great the servers are, it means nothing if the cook can't satisfy the customers. When we arrived at home, the over-easy eggs we ordered were over-hard. Thinking that it could've been a fluke and that maybe the cook didn't realize that to-go order eggs should be less cooked because it has to sit and it will continue to cook during this time. We opened the smothered hash-browns container, and they were extremely uncooked. The gravy on the biscuit&gravy and the country-fried steak was unseasoned and bland, and the mashed potatoes tasted old and reheated. The only semi-decent food was the pancakes, but they weren't anything special The Italian cream soda was good, but the Arnold Palmer was a little heavy on Lemonade, which is okay. So, in conclusion, don't order anything from here unless it's a drink. read more

It was our first time at Doug's today- We loved it! We were so happy to see the great variety on the menu, that included some New Mexico favorites! The food was perfectly prepared (that's a big deal!) and the service was fast and friendly. There's a great patio with umbrellas at the tables, and gorgeous flowers surrounding. Inside, is a clean, casual setting. We had breakfast today, and are looking forward to trying the flip-side of the menu. We will be back OFTEN!! read more
