Have always enjoyed the locations in Loveland and Fort Collins but Windsor continues to disappoint more and more each visit. The prices, food quality, and especially the service are getting worse and worse each year. Today was the final straw so we'll make the trip to one of the other locations. We were ignored at the entrance and finally stuck in a back corner at a small table but waitress didn't acknowledge us. Asked to sit in main area but they wanted to clear it for the dinner guests. Disrespected paying customers in favor of diners who were not even there yet. Brilliant business model if you're committed to closing the restaurant. Ate breakfast here on Feb. 10. Both of our orders were correct and super delicious. I had the pancake, egg, and bacon. That was the tastiest pancake I've ever had! Took my daughter to breakfast for her birthday. Didn't feel like driving to Fort Collins and remembered this place was in town. It's kind of out of sight out of mind. We were sat immediately and our drink order was taken. My daughter ordered the breakfast quesadilla with chorizo and I got the lil Billy - my usual. We've been a few times, first visit for breakfast a month ago was pretty good, 2nd last week for lunch was great!! Service and food! This morning was quite a disappointment... the 1/2 biscuit was so hard, could not cut with a fork, the hash browns were slightly warm at best and the bacon you could barely chew!! My brother and I dined at the Doug's Diner in Windsor on 10/3/25. I ordered the Hearty Combo Platter and was not impressed with the entree at all and felt it was not worth $17.95! The tamale was inedible and hard as a rock (& was replaced by the waitress after about 15 minutes), the food was basically just warm at best. The cheese wasn't even melted inside the enchilada. I could barely see any green chili as there was so little of it. The beans weren't very good or even seasoned very much. The rice was okay but kind of dry. I kept thinking I wished I had ordered the Adovada Papas ($13.95) my brother ordered. It was bigger than my "hearty platter" and good, he said, but not very hot either. Wait time for the food was fairly long for Doug's (like 20-25 minutes). The waitress was good and these things I'm mentioning were not under her control, and I was surprised that when I mentioned to her that that she might tell the cooks that the cheese wasn't melted she stated, "if they can even understand what I'm saying to them". This may just be my new favorite restaurant! The service was beyond enjoyable especially thanks to our absolutely lovely waitress Sophie. Impeccable is an understatement when describing the food. Not a single person at my table had a bit of food that was less than transcendent. The prices were very reasonable and a steal considering how great the food was. Additionally the decor is adorable and inviting! If you want an amazing meal served by delightful people then this is the place for you. Went to Doug's for my birthday breakfast today. We sat at the bar since the table wait was so long. The waitress was nice and helpful and regularly checked on us. The food was good, not great. The reason for 2 stars: one of the other waitresses (she wore a Rolling Stones t-shirt and had a bunch of tattoos) was VERY unhygienic. She seemed to have a runny nose that she was sniffling and rubbing her nose with her hand and fingers frequently and without a tissue. I didn't once see her apply sanitizer or wash her hands at the sink. Everything she touched, and it was A LOT of people's food and to-go containers, is now infected. I feel management needs to retrain this woman on proper food handling. I probably won't be back to this Doug's location. read more

Doug's has something for just about everyone. Breakfast, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, burritos, quesadillas, the list goes on. I had the fiesta salad and a bowl of chili soup. Both were excellent although a cup would be plenty next time. The bowl of soup could be a meal by itself. My coworker got steak and eggs and it looked amazing. Not your average breakfast steak here, a full cut strip perfectly cooked. I'm looking forward to as many lunches as possible here as I work my way through an exciting menu. If you've had Cracker Barrel, you've had cheaper Doug's. It's pretty good but most of the times I've eaten here, I've left disappointed from the price to portion ratio. It also is unfortunate to watch the prices climb by dollars at a time for even basic dishes, but inflation I suppose. read more

I've been to Doug's in Greeley and am happy to have this one in Windsor. It's a nice low-key vibe and the portions are hearty. They have several options for making half sizes on many of their items which is nice when the normal portions are so big. Definitely must try their griddle biscuits and house made strawberry jelly. Also, I'm a big fan of their green chili and usually get a side of it with the breakfast items. Their omelettes are huge and packed with stuff. I recommend The Sharon which is basically a big veggie omelette, I recommend the English muffin as a side - they are so fat & fluffy! It can get pretty busy but for the most part the staff at this location is super friendly and attentive, a solid choice for hungry breakfast seekers. read more

Great food, but service is even better. Two hurried parents and two under 10 year olds had a wonderful brunch experience. Our server rocked, she was able to read the table and got our kids order immediately seeing that they both had a handful of ants in their pants and were a ticking time bomb. The quick action by her saved the meal and honestly stress for Dad. All 4 meals were well portioned and tasted amazing. One could say they have great biscuits (like myself) in previous review, but in the end they are just big with not a great taste. People from Windsor are probably blinded by this place because it's a dedicated breakfast place in Windsor and they have lots of options. If you want an average, run of the line spot, then go. But if you want a spot with like GOOOD breakfast and that's why you are going out to breakfast, then go to Fort Collins Just opened so we thought would give it a try. I decided to try the other Doug's Diner location in Weld County. This location is in Windsor. It's by-far the nicest community in the county, and it's a suburb of Fort Collins. I have ordered the huevos soccoro & breakfast enchiladas. I got them with carne asada and green chili sauce. My two dishes were abundant in flavor and made with high quality ingredients. I greatly enjoy the hash browns here. This is also just a better location than the one in Greeley (which is the best food in its city limits by the way). The Windsor location has better customer service and a more pleasant dining environment. The restaurant is also spacious and modernized. If someone is in Weld County and wants good breakfast, have the Doug's Diner in Windsor. read more

Doug's - Windsor is average at best. If you're on the east side of Windsor and need a close option to get food, I guess it works. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I personally like Urban Egg in Johnstown. I've been to Doug's - Loveland and it is much better for whatever reason. I see other reviews mentioning new ownership, so maybe that's the issue. We were visiting family here and were given this as a recommendation. When we arrived we realized the atmosphere of this place is great and the staff were very welcoming. The entire 'Farm to Table' concept is awesome. Our waitress was fantastic and very accommodating. She gave us a great deal of recommendations and walked us through the varying sauces they made in shop. The huevos rancheros was delicious, with the green sauce being a real hit. The red sauce is not as spicy as it looks and has a nice deep flavor. The basic was good as well! The side of pancakes were huge. We had high expectations of the biscuit - but it was slightly too dense for us and the entire food needed more salt. But... it was a very good meal and would highly recommend!! read more
