Doug's - Windsor is average at best. If you're on the east side of Windsor and need a close option to get food, I guess it works. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I personally like Urban Egg in Johnstown. I've been to Doug's - Loveland and it is much better for whatever reason. I see other reviews mentioning new ownership, so maybe that's the issue. Generally though, service is okay at best, atmosphere not great, food pretty blah...not worth my money or time. read more

We were visiting family here and were given this as a recommendation. When we arrived we realized the atmosphere of this place is great and the staff were very welcoming. The entire 'Farm to Table' concept is awesome. Our waitress was fantastic and very accommodating. She gave us a great deal of recommendations and walked us through the varying sauces they made in shop. The huevos rancheros was delicious, with the green sauce being a real hit. The red sauce is not as spicy as it looks and has a nice deep flavor. The basic was good as well! The side of pancakes were huge. We had high expectations of the biscuit - but it was slightly too dense for us and the entire food needed more salt. But... it was a very good meal and would highly recommend!! read more

We absolutely loved our breakfast from Doug's. Our favorite thing we ordered was the blueberry pancakes! The home fries were nice and crispy and paired well with our eggs and bacon. The restaurant was nice and clean and the service was excellent. Our omelette was slightly greasy, so that's one thing I wouldn't highly recommend ordering. My husband still thought it was food though. read more

Beware! Went to Doug's this morning and found out new owner means new charges! They are now charging per refill for all juices and lemonades! We waited 40 min for a cold plate of food. I ordered The Basic, browns, scrambled eggs, bacon & griddle biscuit. When it finally arrived I sent it back because everything was cold and the bacon wasn't cooked. Two minutes later they brought back a microwaved plate of food at which point I told the waitress it wasn't acceptable and please take it off the bill. A few minutes later she brought back what supposedly was a just made plate. Same, situation, lukewarm and undercooked bacon which she ended up charging me for and basically told us it was the lunch rush. Terrible food and service. read more

Here's the deal, we were in town for a mid-week wedding looking for a good breakfast. Dropped my shirts at a laundry and asked for a recommendation, she said Doug's was the best in town and be warned they have huge servings. How often do you hear that? Every time, right, never quite accurate. Until this day. We arrive and there was a wait. On a Thursday? Yep. I am an expert on Huevos Rancheros, best I have had . Hash browns included. On corn tortillas Full on beans and cheese and eggs exactly like I ordered (egg whites) there should not be meat on ranch eggs and there was not. Choice of Red sauce, green sauce or both. I got both, woo-hee spicy but very good. I ordered extra flour tortillas which they gladly delivered. They were great (Grandma's Tortillas). It was a diner as you can sit outside, at a table inside or at the counter. We also ordered pancakes, big, light & fluffy and bacon (crispy). This is a great spot and a great stop in Ft.Collins. They also sell photography with photos along the walls for sale. Good photos, too. I bought breajfast for our table. 3 of us ordered Huevos Rancheros. About $10 a piece for huge plates of food. It was very good, big food, all true. We'll be back someday! read more

Moving here from California its been difficult finding good Mexican food. I was very surprised when I stopped in to Doug's to find a decent amount of Mexican options. I ordered the Huevos Socorro with Carne Asada (steak) as my protein option with Green Chile. I am very pleased to say that this was very close to the what I ate in California! The chunks of meat were so tender and savory. The eggs and tortilla were excellent as were the hash browns. The beans could have been cooked a bit more, I would have wished they had retired beans instead. The staff were very attentive and cheerful even at the early our of 7:30am. The place was very clean and organized. Im so glad I decided to stop in on a whim. I also ordered their One Plus to go, which is a Waffle, egg, and bacon, for my wife. I will report what she thinks of it in a future post. I think next time I will try their breakfast burrito. I saw someone order it and it looked big and good! read more

We got dinner here tonight. Its really the most awful food i've ever had. I had a french dip that was cooked in a microwave. Its completely inedible. The dogs won't eat this food. My wife ordered Nacho's that literally had ez-cheeze spray cheese. its looks like cat barf. you would be better off to stop at a hospital cafeteria before this place. I frequently go to Doug's Diner. I wanted to comment on another review I saw. It was a complaint about being charged for kid's refills on certain drinks, due to "new" owners. Every Doug's I've been to does this so I don't think it has anything to do with being bought by someone new. With the cost of food these days, I believe it is absolutely acceptable to charge for refills on juice and milk. To be honest only 6.50 for a kid's meal the size they serve is pretty awesome. Have you seen the portion sizes? Dougs in Windsor is my favorite go to for "from scratch" good food! That means someone is in the kitchen preparing all that deliciousness from raw ingredients, hard to find that kind of menu these days and did I mention the portion sizes? Then someone is back there washing the pots and pans, not to mention the dishes used to serve the food. Then someone has to serve and clean up after everyone. The new owners most likely have to pay higher wages and food prices given the state of our economy, being in the restaurant business today is not easy! I'm grateful that this industry survived the last 4 years! With that being said, if you can't afford or are not willing to pay for what you get, stay home! I drive 10 miles, one way, to eat at this location and will continue to do so due to the great service, prices and food quality! 4/24, 0715: No host(ess), and a sign "Please wait to be seated". How long? There appeared to be 2 servers, who had about 5 tables each. No one seated at the bar. I waited about 5 minutes as neither server acknowledged me. Finally, the tall server said "I'll be with you shortly." I said "thank you". She took plates off an active tables & took an order from one of her tables. Meanwhile, the older, dark haired woman who has been there for a long time, ignored me & was chatting with customers at a table (not taking their order). I waited another 3-4 minutes & left. Eight-nine minutes waiting to be seated is ridiculous! There were at least 5-6+ tables open in each section! This location has had poor customer service since opening. They only seem to care about their "regular daily or weekly" customers. If it wasn't on the way to where I needed to be, I would not have attempted. I needed to eat before an event, so had to drive 5 miles out of the way to eat elsewhere & was acknowledged & appreciated my business. read more
