He was so thorough and speedy. He gave me all the options, all the pricing I wanted, wasn't pushy, and was VERY competitive... it took me a couple weeks to make my decision and he didn't pester me during that time. When I was ready to buy, I went in again and the prices for my trade in and the new car were exactly as we had talked about previously. The Finance guy was really helpful. We used true car to do an internet comparison for Santa Fe models. We found the perfect one at another dealer and purchased it. When Doug's emailed us with their deals, we politely informed them that we had already purchased, thanks very much. We have since been continually harassed by sales people with repeated emails telling us about their great deals and to come buy from them. Each email has been politely answered with thanks, but we are no longer looking. The emails keep coming and the sales people will NOT STOP harassing us! Let strat with the fact I made an appointment for oil change. Arrived 10 min early. Waiting 3 min someone to come and take the keys. Then i waited an 1 hour and 20 min. At that point I wander why I even bother calling for appointment. Three other people came after me and left in 30 min which is like reasonable time to wait for oil change. And I even ask not to wash the car so I can safe time. So disappointed. read more

Based on my own experience, I would strongly recommend Doug's Hyundai to anyone in the market for a new one. I was shopping for a small SUV and also tried nearby Honda and Toyota dealers. The service I got at Doug's was overall the best of the three. The sales person (James) was friendly and pretty laid-back, not officious or pushy. He worked with me patiently though the process, and he knew I was considering other brands as well. We did the test drive and looked at lots of options, colors, etc. They have a cool internet comparison tool from the H. web site that is projected on a big touch screen. You can compare features and options of the Hyundai with any other models or other vehicle(s) you are considering. In my opinion, the automobile purchase process is always is little mysterious, but it seemed to be less so, i.e. more straightforward, at Doug's. The general manager produced several different pricing/financing options that were helpful. I have reason to believe that pricing I got was very reasonable. Then came the bad news - and the "miracle." They did not have the color I wanter in stock but checked around and found one at another dealership in the state. I had not ordered the car yet because I wanted to sleep on the choice I was making. When I went back to firm up my decision to get the Hyundai, the one with the good color had sold late the day before. The manager checked around and by chance found another of the good color. Delivery was promised in 3 days, but it actually came in and was ready the following day. I did not have a problem with the financing department. The rep did explain the option to purchase a couple of different supplemental warranties, and I did choose one. But I did not feel pressured to do so at all. When I went to pick up the car, I was given a very thorough orientation on the systems and options on the car - it took well over an hour. It has only been a couple of days since buying, but I have to say I am very pleased overall with my experience at Doug's Hyndai. read more

I haven't bought a car yet from Doug but I thought my interaction with one of the sales associates needed mentioning. I was there the other day looking at the new Elantra's to replace my aging Chevy. A guy named Q helped me out. He was very knowledgeable with Hyundais and seemed to have every answer for every question I had. He wasn't pushy and didn't try to pitch me a typical sales speech and wasn't rude when I told him that I was still shopping. I haven't made the decision to buy another car yet with the economy in the shape that it is in now, but I have his card for when I am ready. read more

Do not trust this dealership! I made a deal with "Tom" the manager and drove up from Portland. They then reneged on the deal and tried to lowball me on my trade-in, after we had negotiated the price. Wasted the entire day. Tom was no where to be seen and let some other manager reneg on the deal. read more

I spent my entire Sunday between Doug's Mazda and Doug's Hyundai, they even bought me both lunch and dinner while I spent time finding out which car suited my needs the best. Leonardo was incredibly helpful; I test drove 3-4 cars, then was given a fantastic lease offer on a 2015 Sonata which they allowed me to put on hold while I left and test drove cars at the Mazda dealership and elsewhere. Ultimately I came back to the Hyundai dealership and traded in my Volvo S40 for a leased 2015 Sonata. My monthly payment is only $8 more per month, and I have a brand new car. I've been on the market for 2 weeks searching for my next SUV. I've been emailing my local car dealerships to send me quotes/ask availability of cars I saw on their websites or at Cars.com. Most of them replied with "what time are you coming in?" Doug's Hyundai in Lynnwood was the last dealership that I've emailed for availability and just after few minutes, I got a reply from Michael Daniels, one of the sales consultants. First, I love that he includes his picture next to his name on the email. Second, he mentioned right away what I was asking for: the vehicle's availability and informations about the vehicle I was inquiring for. I ended up coming by with my sister at their dealership couple hours after my first email with them. When we got inside, Michael was there greeted us right away with his beautiful smile (same genuine smile as the photo on his email) Michael is very friendly, accomodating, super helpful, and most of all genuine! It felt like I just came by to see my friend that I haven't seen for couple months! I didn't even feel pressured, he didn't ask me to get things that I don't need or offered me other more expensive options like those other salesman do. He is very straightforward. He is like those people in an auto show that tells you what features are there in the vehicle that you inquired. If you don't like the vehicle, he won't force you! :D After I decided that I wanted the vehicle, I met Suni, another awesome person at their finance department! She is very helpful, explain all the paperworks and oh she also gives great financial or nonfinancial advice if you ask her! She is very honest. So, how does one adequately provide a review for a car dealership, without sounding either too sycophantic or too furious? That is a conundrum, indeed, however, I'll try my best. Doug's Lynnwood Hyundai was simply the easiest, most pleasurable car buying experience of my life! I was looking for a used MINI Cooper S, and Doug's had one on the lot that had extremely low miles and almost every 'addition' I personally could want in a vehicle. During the initial conversation stage, they weren't predatory and didn't contact me numerous times a day. I made it clear (on a Tuesday) that I would be ready to shop/test drive on Saturday, and they only contacted me once to verify that I would indeed be in. Even when my timeframe changed from Saturday afternoon to Saturday morning, my initial sales contact, Alex C. Woo, was more than accommodating of my schedule change. When we pulled into the dealership, the car was right out front waiting for me. Alex handed me the keys and let me tool around town without him. When my test drive was over, I knew it was the car for me. Alex didn't try to pressure me into buying a new Hyundai off the lot, and he was willing to work with me on total sale price. The entire sales experience made me feel like a welcome customer, not a mark to be preyed upon. Alex worked with me throughout the entire process, working behind the scenes to get the car prepped for departure, answering any questions I had about registering and liability, and generally being super nice all around! Once it was time for financing, their finance manager Brian Bannon was great as well! He answered our financing questions, he got us a great interest rate and made us feel secure in our financial transaction. And then Alex handed me the keys, took a couple photos of my wife and I with the car, and we took off! But it didn't end there! Alex has been in contact over the last week or so to check and make certain that I love the car (I do)! This kind of follow-up on a used car, and not even one of the dealership's own models? That kind of follow-through is rare in any business in this day and age. I have to say, I've had nothing but a 5-Star experience with Doug's Lynnwood Hyundai. He really listened to my needs, budget and wants and came up with the perfect solution. This is my second Elantra, although my first from Doug's, because I love Hyundai so much. I don't think I will buy another brand again. I traded in a 2015 Elantra on a 2017 Elantra- it was a smooth process. I dealt with Brian and he made the whole transaction so easy. I was given a good amount for my trade in and I got a far better interest rate on the new one, making my payments a little lower. Dropped by after Thanksgiving and Ashley was there to greet us right away and quickly got down to business - didn't try to sell us something we didn't want. In fact didn't experience any pressure to buy at all. They didn't have the Genesis Coupe I wanted so they went out and got it for me and it was ready for pickup the next day. I got it on a lease and Ashley was great at keeping in touch and making sure the car was working out. I bought a used Hyundai Veracruz in late September. A few weeks later the tire pressure monitor reported a below pressure tire so I put some air in. Two or three weeks later it again was low. Eventually Les Schwab took a look and told me there was a non-repairable pinhole puncture in the wall. I called Doug's back and explained the situation - obviously I couldn't prove the tire had a puncture when they sold it to me, so I really had no expectations that they would help. I bought a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe on December 30th. From day one, the key fob wasn't working. Brought it back in, they said it was fine, you just have to push the button a certain way. Okay, whatever. After driving to and from work for a couple days, I noticed it wasn't shifting into gear as smoothly as it should be. Brought it in to Hyundai, and they reset the computer so it can learn to shift according to the way I drive, and oh, by the way, "Did you know your back tires have almost no tread and need to be replaced?" I told them "No, I was told that all 4 tires were brand new when I bought it." They said "Well, the front ones are new!" Next was the big snowstorm. The cold killed my battery, and it wouldn't start without a jump. I buy a new battery, and a week later, my car won't start again. This time it's something to do with the battery terminals. I've had 3 days now where my car wouldn't start. Sooo yeah. Save yourself the money and buy a Toyota. read more

In summary: after unnecessarily lengthy negotiations I agreed to a price for a new car. I signed documents and took home the vehicle. Nine days later (during dinner, and one day after I had talked to them and been told everything was fine with the loan and purchase) they called wanting me to pay an additional 10% ($3000) immediately or Brian would be "sending out the tow truck." I have purchased 5 cars and 3 houses so I am not a newcomer to moderately complex sales. This transaction was astounding. They reneged on the deal, and then reneged again when I agreed to undo the deal in order to be done with them. Once the deceptions (which much later they re-characterized as mistakes) were discovered and brought up with them, they lied to me, berated me, and threatened me. If this was indeed the result of a mistake, had they treated me respectfully and taken my concerns seriously at the beginning, most of this mess could have been avoided because I caught initial episode and questioned it (not to mention the subsequent ones). That is, however, apparently not who they are as a company. Based on my experience, extracting the most money possible is their priority without regard to fairness, truthfulness, or respect. And more detail: If I was willing to lie like Doug's, they would have no proof I didn't pay them that $3000 cash. It shows up on the contract as having been received. Since that is not who I am, I didn't lie about that. Every interaction with them tells me that given my strong beliefs in truthfulness, respectfulness, and fair dealing, I need to be done interacting with this company. If you are happy with lies and okay with being treated like a sack of money to be squeezed as much as possible, this may be the dealership for you. To be absolutely fair, it may be just one employee/manager caused this mess and perpetuated this treatment, however, higher management hasn't chosen to rein him in, nor attempted to remedy his harm to the customer, nor provided an alternate contact, and they have seemed content to perpetuate his misrepresentations and condone his outrageously contemptuous treatment of a customer. I did not want to finance a car. They insisted that I would get a much better deal if I financed. So good a deal in fact, that I had to sign it that night (I didn't end up leaving the dealership until past 9PM, despite Brian's assurances it couldn't go past 7:30PM ). They said it was $750 better to finance (again they put that in writing) but then when it came time for the official paperwork they attempted to reduce that to $500. When I made clear that upping the price $250 was not going to get me to complete the deal, they backed off. Of course, as it turned out, they made a successful play for slipping in something much much bigger through even more blatant lies/"miscommunication(s)." They lied (or made more "mistakes") about the finance terms: they told me that the interest I would pay in 4 months would be under $200. I challenged that and they came back from a calculator with a specific figure under $300 [I later got the actual terms and it's more than $500]. They claimed this was a "0 down" deal. They put that in writing too. In a phone call they told me that they had good news and that the loan processed for 25 basis points less than shown on the paperwork. Of course, when I got the processed loan documentation it shows exactly the original rate. They sold me a 10 year extended warranty that on final paperwork showed it expiring within 2 days from the purchase date of the vehicle. At the time I thought it an innocent typographical error. After all the rest of this experience, I now am very suspicious of deliberate duplicity. And looking at other people's reviews, it seems problems with extended warranties not actually being valid come up again and again at this dealership. They omitted from the official paperwork the 3 years of routine service promised in writing. Again, watch out! I caught this one too before signing. They had two nearly identical cars on the lot. One had more features. They subbed in the car with fewer features They lied (or made yet more "mistakes") about the contract: there is a line for down payment which they explained away as being covered by cash back rebates and incentives (and it shows as received on that contract). They told me all I had to worry about was the fact that I wasn't handing over money and would be financing the correct amount, and that the "AMOUNT OWED" line was correct. That was true. 9 days later they called asking me to reduce the amount of financing by making a $3000 payment over the phone. I was happy to do that (even had pulled out my credit card), but things turned ugly when I questioned how that payment would be documented. I immediately got turned over to a middle manager (Brian) who told me I owed them $3000 more and if I didn't pay it immediately he'd be "sending out the tow truck" that night. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Doug's Lynnwood Hyundai since 2002, when I first moved to Seattle and bought my first vehicle -- a new 2002 Hyundai Accent. When I was ready to upgrade to a new, larger car in 2008, I returned to them and traded in my Accent for a new 2008 Sonata. They gave me a fair trade-in price (granted, the Accent only cost about $10,000 new, so I only received a few thousand dollars for it, which matched the Kelley Blue Book value) and even though the car cost a bit more than my intended price range, they were willing to negotiate when I told them that the chrome wheels made no bit of difference to me and that I didn't feel like it was worth paying an extra $500 for them. I always have brought my Hyundai vehicles to Doug's Lynnwood Mazda (where the main Service Department for the Doug's dealerships is located) for routine maintenance and have kept a relationship with the Doug's family of dealerships because I've felt treated fairly -- and not abused, even though I'm a woman who has little experience with cars. This is precisely why, in July of this year, when I was planning to move abroad, I made the painful decision to sell my car -- but nothing was painful about working with Doug's Hyundai as they went through the process of purchasing my car as a flat-out buy and not a trade-in. Initially I was in touch with a regular sales team member, but when Young Lee, the Store Manager, learned that my car was purchased from them, was still in near-pristine condition, and only had about 33,000 miles on it, he quickly stepped in to help. It only took a few minutes for the dealership to appraise my car in mid-July, and the price that they offered me was so fair (about half of what I paid for the car, which seemed generous) that I decided not even to bring the car elsewhere for appraisals. His appraisal even exceeded what I was expecting upon researching my car in the Kelley Blue Book. A few weeks later, when I was ready to sell, the process only involved me doing a little bit of paperwork. Young was kind enough to give me a loaner car -- at no cost to me -- to tide me over between when I sold my Sonata to them and when I was flying abroad. This was true V.I.P. service, which was just what I needed during an already stressful time. I was paid by check for the vehicle, as promised by Young, within a few days of when they bought it. Everything went incredibly smoothly and they resold my car within in a week of when I sold it to them. While I know I probably could have earned a little bit more money had I sold it on my own through Craigslist, Doug's eliminated the hassle of paperwork, and the time and effort I would have had to spend showing the car to prospective buyers. Young was helpful and extremely communicative with me via phone calls and emails during the sale process. He made an emotionally difficult process much easier for me to bear and I appreciate his willingness to go "above and beyond" to make the sale so easy for me. I already have promised the dealership that if I find myself back in Seattle within the next few years, I'll definitely look to them first when I need to purchase another vehicle. read more

I was curious about Hyundai's after driving one as a rental while my car was in the shop. Thank you, Enterprise, for introducing me to an automobile I had never considered and fell in love with! I had been a long-time loyal customer of Infiniti of Bellevue (a company and staff I valued immensely -- still do!), but things changed after driving that Hyundai Tuscon. I felt so secure and comfortable in the Tuscon and unlike my Infiniti, it took regular unleaded gas (vs $$ premium) and the technology hooked me! My lease was coming to an end with the Infiniti so I spontaneously stopped at Doug's in Lynnwood to explore what Hyundai had to offer. I was approached immediately (and warmly) by Briana Kalenderian. She earned my trust right away. As a woman who has always felt uncomfortable purchasing cars in the past, I LOVED being in her care and found her knowledgeable, fun and NO PRESSURE. Before I knew it we were taking a test drive and I was negotiating on my next car! It almost felt like I was being divinely directed to Lynnwood (I live on Queen Anne) and to Briana. She provided EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE and I made a friend in the process! Her attention and follow-up has been extraordinary...truly. After my purchase, Briana introduced me to all the key staff.
