Went here for the first time and it was excellent. I went here with a large group and got the seasonal item avocado toast and it was really good, it was a sourdough bread slice spread with guacamole along with 3 avocado slices and diced tomatoes on top. My dad got the cowboy without a pancake, which he also described as being good. Despite the large size of the group and the amount of food ordered it arrived swiftly bringing joy to the whole group. Our server was very polite, friendly, and social. Almost no mistakes were made in the order except them forgetting to bring the gravy to the table for someone's dish. The environment of the restaurant was very traditional western inspired with a 3d wooden sign of the restaurant's logo on the wall as well as the word howdy spelt and made with horse shoes being hung above the kitchen door. Great small business to go support! Good home cooking! Open from 7am- 2pm. Got there at 1015am on a Sunday and there was already a 10-15min wait. There were several open tables but it seems they take reservations or were allowing people to call-in to get on the list. We only ended up waiting 8 minutes which allowed us time to review the menu and decide what we wanted. Big wooden tables with comfortable wide chairs. Looked like a table sturdy enough for a bunch of Cowboys with chicken fried steak plates. Lol. They have a couple iced coffee drink specials. They even had a sign on the table for a special Valentines Dinner they're opening that evening for reservations only - $45/person. A few tables were getting a cinnamon roll to share as a starter. Looked yummy! We got HONEY BUTTER BISCUIT W/BREAKFAST POTATOES (8.99). Sooooooo good! Warm honey - we ordered our honey on the side instead of poured all over. 5/5 CHICKEN BISCUIT DELUXE (14.99) 5/5 One biscuit with cream gravy topped with fried chicken sprinkled with a little cheddar cheese topped with 2 eggs (your way) served with 2 strips bacon. It was really good and filling. Had nearly half leftover. Could have taken a nap after eating. Decaf coffee kept me warm on a cold morning. I want to go back to try their cinnamon roll, famous chicken fried steak, & other delicious sounding menu items! They had a tv scrolling pictures of their food which looked really good. This place is great! I had the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. The potatoes are what I dream about! The gravy, rolls,etc. are fantastic. My husband loved his bacon, sausage and eggs. Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive. Jasmine, I think was her name. They have tables and booths and a quaint place. There is even a TV if you want to sit in the back and relax while you eat. We loved this place and will be back. The restaurant itself is huge so I'm gonna safely assume waiting to be seated should not be an issue. The food was amazing and the portions were insane. Stopped in for brunch with my son's family. I got the Signature breakfast which was 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties, grilled toast, and hash browns. The grilled toast was great. It had lots of butter on it and was so good my very picky granddaughter ate most of mine. The eggs were good especially after I added some salt. I was pleasantly surprised at Dove Creek Cafe. The service was great! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I had the most delicious iced coffee and their Cinnamon Rolls may be the best I have ever had. I am typically disappointed in Cinnamon Rolls. If I would prefer to have Pillsbury'd I am not impressed. These were impressive. One of my friends that I went with let me try his hash browns. I am also picky about hash browns and these were perfect. The omelette and strawberry crepes my friends had looked delicious and they said they were. I will definitely be back. Inside was clean and inviting. We moved to Texas ten years ago and shortly after found DCC. It was our go to breakfast spot for several years. We had a regular waitress and everything (Bonnie). We ended up moving a bit north and had not been in the last 2-3 years but stopped in just recently. I was initially impressed the inside had been nicely renovated. Seemed to be more seating too. However, after ordering my usual the food tasted completely different. Not in a good way. I believe they got new owners who obviously put money into the appearance which was appreciated but the food quality just was not the same. I don't believe we will be back. read more

The food is great and the service friendly. The ambiance is what you would expect from a small town cafe. The parking lot is small so be prepared for that if you have a large vehicle or special needs like letting a lift down. From their potato options I prefer the shredded hash browns, the biscuit and gravy is delicious and you can get sausage gravy or country gravy without meat. Several of the omelets are good and I love their grilled sourdough. The last time I was there they did add $1.25 per slice so I opted for wheat instead. Try to bring cash if you want to save a little because using a card adds a charge. read more

Yelped this place as I was nearby looking for breakfast. Great ambiance, very much a homestyle restaurant. "Made my own" omelette (ham, cheddar, mushroom & spinach) fantastic. Served with hash browns (a little crunchy...) and toast. (They do have Sourdough; I chose wheat) Quick service, all the coffee I could consume, and all at a very reasonable price point. Servers and cooks need training. Order was wrong and had to be sent back for missing items. Hashbrowns had zero taste and were only cooked on one side. Didn't receive refill during meal. Also no napkins provided outside the silverware. Plenty of workers standing around and talking but not assisting tables. This isn't the first encounter of this. I went to Dove Creek Cafe today for breakfast. I was referred by a friend. The place is nice and clean. The staff is friendly. The cinnimon roll was good. The homemade biscuits were good. The one pancake I had was under cooked. The gravy was just ok. The eggs,hash browns and bacon were good. I didnt like the menu. There was only one plate that served a pancake. I don't like paying to subtitute for a pancake. I have been to better places. read more

Alright y'all. I was expecting more than what I got. Overall, it was OK but let me touch on a few things. I got the fried catfish. This is not fresh they are frozen square oblong portions that are battered most likely at their restaurant. The breading did not stick to the fish.....it was also very obvious it was square/oblong portion of fish and not fresh or even frozen fillets. The hush puppies were good but I'd think I got more than 3 (they are very small). The pinto beans were not cooked all the way through. The cole slaw was ok. That's all the catfish meal came with. So overall ehhhh it was ok if you can deal with oblong fish with no batter because it all fell off. read more

Our last few visits have not been worth our time or money. While we usually love the food, the service has been very slow and unfriendly. Today my husband was told that he can't chose "build your own omelette" on the weekends. Unfortunately, we are taking this off the list of our breakfast favorites. Food was great and I love the options! Would love for them to have espresso, but it seems they only have drip coffee available. I wanted to give five stars, but the only thing I didn't enjoy was the atmosphere. It felt a little stuffy and the lighting was artificial and irritated my eyes. When you walk in everyone notices and stares at you and for my introverted self that is not ideal. But hard to control that! One of the better places our group of 7 car club guys likes. Great service, good food and coffee. The price is fair for today's breakfast and lunch offerings. Salads are enormous, all the breakfast foods are great, the lunch offerings we have tried are very good. The on premise parking lot is terrible with potholes and ground up cement with little markings, however a new lot is just across the small side road and it's terrific. read more

Oh my goodness this place we have dove by it and said we have to try it. Well we did and it was so delicious and the waitress was the sweetest she had a cast on her arm and still was able to serve us. She came up and gave our son crayons on some Mario bro pictures for him to color. So last time I was here I watched total rudeness/discrimination taking place. Today I go and say maybe it was a once off experience. We walk in, the "host" and lady of Asian decent yells from across the room sit here. So we grab our own menus and go sit down. 10 mins pass and no acknowledgement, but hey, times are tough and maybe they are just busy. More come in, they are greeted by the same lady, then she gets them drinks. Still not anyone has come to the table. The same lady is walking around and honestly asked every table how they were and gets to the table next to us, turns her back and literally ignores us, with menus still on table and no drinks. I'm not sure why this place is like this, but honestly no good food or ok prices are worth giving this place a cent of my money. Visit at your own risk. read more
