Eight months later, the restaurant continues to have service problems. A minute after I was seated, a senior staff asked if I had been waited on. When she returned to where the waitstaff were mingling, no one did come to my table at that time. Of course, I did not expect anyone to come by so soon. Eventually, a waitress did come to take my order. Sometime later, an employee placed a large tray with various plates by my table. As he was to serve me those plates, another waitress stopped him and said they were for her table. There were two plates which she could not recognize. I said yes when she asked me if I had ordered those items. Rather than serving me my items, the employee returned the plates to the kitchen. Several minutes later, my waitress came by with those plates. Since it was the Saturday before Christmas, I decided to order the chocolate pancakes listed on their featured chalkboard. When my waitress asked if I wanted two or three, I opted for two. I also ordered sausage. Unfortunately, due to the taste and light color, the patties may have been chicken. It has been about 2 years since Northlake Cafe opened near my neighborhood. We still enjoy going there for breakfast & lunch. I have tried many items on their menu, but this was the first time I noticed they had eggs Benedict with crabmeat. I got it and really liked it. I thought the Hollandaise was a little heavy, but still tasty. It is pretty large. It comes with 2; English muffin, which you can switch out, crabmeat, avocado and a perfect poached egg. I took one home and it was perfect the next morning for breakfast. And, the hollandaise sauce was also perfect, being in the refrigerator over night made it a little lighter. I like the Cafe' feel of the restaurant. It gives it the right ambiance. Service is usually very good. We have only had to wait a couple of times. read more

Our server was great. My granddaughters' lunches were very good. Kids chicken tender meal and banana Nutella pancakes. My meal, however, left so much to be desired. The side salad was filled with a large clump of rotten, slimy lettuce hidden under the top tin layer of lettuce. Our server offered to replace it but I didn't trust the kitchen at that point and that rotten clump of lettuce actually left me nauseous. My BLT consisted of a LOT of lettuce, a decent amount of bacon and one paper thin sliver of Roma tomato. The slice of tomato on my rotten salad was more substantial than the sliver on my BLT. read more

Truly the worst dining experience I have ever had. While a wait on a holiday is a given, bad service is not. All of our food wasn't brought out and it turned out to be incorrectly put in. The omlete was sitting in a puddle of grease. The worst part was the service. We had to flag down someone for everything, order drinks, place our order, extra napkins, since we soaked up grease with the one we were given, paying. I didn't even bother trying to get a refill. We have loved this restaurant for breakfast for several years. They have a large variety of offerings on their menu but do a great job with everything we have tried. Their food is consistently good and arrives to the table quickly. Our favorites are the TexMex Skillet which is loaded with goodness, the Migas and the oatmeal. I know, oatmeal? Yes! Good morning Yelpmates. Made the drive north of Fort Worth to Justin and Northlake house hunting. Hunger struck hard. Came here to you guys for the heads up on brunch. You lead me here, let's hope you're not pulling my leg. So far service is awesome, and the place is spacious, new, well-lit, nice cafe feel. Coffee came out in a sippy cup. Tiny. The coffee is weak. I'm adding an expresso shot, but the coffee is so far from coffee, it's closer to brown water. The shot placed it at a normal level. This is a miss. 1st world or not, coffees are universal. I ordered Country fried steak. Was fork tender. Eggs are a perfect over med. Potatoes were just barely cooked. No browning. Looked boiled then skillet tossed, but not browned. Service checked on the table maybe 6 times. Service made this 4 a 5 star. I do not doubt if I asked for the spuds to be browned they would have corrected, so I didn't bother. I felt confident they care, that's worth 5 stars. This was a winner. Would return were it on my trail. This is out of town though. Take care of yourselves. read more

Went today around 10:00 for breakfast. My husband wanted pancakes and I ordered traditional eggs Benedict. The eggs were almost hard boiled and I needed a serrated knife to cut the English muffin (which I didn't have.). Our server dropped off our food and never came back to see how everything was. I wanted to show her the eggs. We actually had to ask another waitress to send ours over with the bill. Again, no questions about our food. I'm not inclined to go back. read more

This was our First Visit!! Great atmosphere bright and cheery.. the menu offered a lot of variety. The food well It was Not too bad .. but not the best .. I didn't like that the toast is served dry with cold butter on the side by request :( no fun putting cold butter on dry toast. Service was okay .. drinks were not filled and syrup/cream etc was not brought until it was almost too late - pancakes were great except again I love hot whipped butter melting on my pancakes and they serve cold little butter packets .. :( Omelet was decent .. not oversized by any means. Nothing fancy. Hashed browns .. hmm same, you could that tell they were not fresh grated potatoes - but they were fine, I would have preferred less grease.. chicken friend steak tasted good.. Wife and I went for lunch. Had the West Coast Chicken Salad. They shouldn't call it "chicken salad". It was 90% filler (apples, raisins, other crunchy things) with VERY LITTLE chicken. My wife got the club, and I envied her sandwich. The waitress did bring me a small dish of a tablespoon addition of the salad, but it was just more of the same. Not her fault. Best kept secret. It's not every day that you find a restaurant who's owners who care about supporting local farmers, providing the best and highest quality ingredients, and grow their own herbs etc. With a diverse menu you offering, won't be disappointed. They neglect to tell you that many many things are locally sourced, farm fresh and many are even organic. The back of the menu does hint at the special blue water that is complementary to every table and the fact that it is alkaline. If you're not familiar with the value of alkaline water for our bodies look it up! This is a great offering and I am so proud that they offer this here without hesitation or added cost. I wish the staff were more forthcoming about the quality ingredients in the food and the local sourcing. I think that the certainly should be celebrated. We've eaten here a couple of times now and have not had a bad meal. The staff are very attentive. Things move fairly quickly because they use handheld ordering devices and that also helps to expedite exiting because you can pay right at the table with the waiters device. We have enjoyed salads, eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, French toast, crêpes... Oh and mimosas!!!! they offer all of their French toast and a gluten-free offering, aside from the cinnamon roll one, and so far everything we've tried has been amazing. my very favorite though are the hashbrowns. When we walked in there was no waiting, it was like 10:15 it was crowded, the atmosphere was cute our waiter was friendly, he told us the favorite's on the menu but we ordered the omelettes which you get 1 side and a bread item. The pancakes were thick which I was a little spectacle but actually the butter melted and it was delicious and fluffy. The veggie omelette had a lot of fresh ingredients but didn't really have taste and the potatoes too, you will have to season it which I had too and I understand their are people who can't have a lot of seasonings but I feel sometimes salt and pepper doesn't always make the season to your liking. The downfall was when we were seated they put us in front of the door area and today was still chilly outside I feel they should have put us somewhere else because their was a booth away from the door. I don't realize it until I sat down, I feel when it's cold outside they should not seat people by the door unless they say "I don't mind". That's why they get a 4 from us. PERFECTLY cooked eggs, crispy hasbrowns, fresh fruits, alkaline water and the FRESH SQUUEZED OJ...oh, my!! Now that you know the food is eggcellent!! The FOH service team was top notch too. Very attentive and communicative. Our server, Tristan, was so sweet and accommodating. Today was their 3rd day open so we expected to experience some "first day jitters" but they handled everything with style and grace. We live in Harvest and are looking forward to our next visit. Amazing place, but found plastic in my wife's food! We ate there today, and my salmon benedict was delicious! Would have given 5 stars for food and service but my wife bit into a half inch of hard plastic in her crab cake benedict. It had a sharp edge so she got lucky she felt it before any accidents. We alerted the manager about it in case any other customers order from the same batch. She mentioned that they make the crab cakes there, so we hope they do a better quality check in the future. For what it's worth, my wife loved the crab cake benedict up until that last few bites. Since we already paid, no items were taken off the check. No refunds were offered either, but we weren't necessarily requesting one. We just hope for a better experience next time. read more

What a pleasant surprise this place was. The Northlake Café has such a creative and extensive breakfast menu. We went there for lunch but both ended up ordering something from the breakfast menu. My wife had a Greek Omelet which was very large and filled with Greek flavor. Different than most omelets we have had. The potatoes on the side ere also excellent. I had Breakfast Enchiladas. I have had other Tex-Mex breakfast items at places before but never enchiladas. The chipotle hollandaise on these is really flavorful without being heavy. Could use a little more chorizo, but everything else is perfect. The house potatoes are very well done and are great to dip in the hollandaise as well. With such an extensive menu also featuring sandwiches and salads, I feel we have just touched the surface here and will return often. On a Saturday at about 1:00 pm it was quite crowded but service was still very crisp. In fact, we were pleasantly shocked how quickly our food arrived. Biscuit, gravy, eggs and perfect hash browns!! Came to Northlake cafe after church today. Less than a week opened and they were fairly busy. Service was stellar, thanks to Sonny! Food was prefect!! I had pancakes eggs and bacon - the pancakes were some of the best I've ever had. Hash browns were cooked to perfection. If you come, please remember they are new and still in the learning stage - new servers, new cooks, new everything. We've been here twice. Once on Mother's Day and another for a regular breakfast. Both times the staff were great and the wait times weren't crazy. Our server was great in both instances and the food came as ordered within a very reasonable timeframe. The pricing and food options are what you might expect from a breakfast/lunch restaurant, although they have various takes on each dish that adds variety.
