Outstanding acrylic work with gel overlay. Absolutely spa quality pedicure with leg and foot massage. If you're lucky enough to get Auntie for your Pedi, you'll be transported to a place of tranquility. Her foot manipulation is so different than any other salon is offering. She knows the trigger points that radiate up your leg and relax every muscle right up to your knees. As for my acrylic fill, Lisa is bar far the best I've had in over 40 years. Her filing skills for glamor length nails is just outstanding. Her freehand artwork is also very impressive. I get numerous compliments on my nails wherever I go. The salon is immaculate and they make you feel like family. No brawls between employees and zero interruptions. Meaning; walk-in customers do not trump your standing appointment. My nail tech took the time and effort to preserve the natural quality of my nails (they don't look chewed off by a small animal like they usually do when I go for removal somewhere else ) it's amazing... Disappointed in their gel manicure ($37 not including tip). It was less than half an hour, lotion quickly applied to my hands without any massage, and my nails are noticeably shorter on one hand. There's another nail salon down the street (Classy Nails) that I'll try instead of going back to Lily's. read more

Wow! This is the type of nail salon I have missed. It's a small, local shop with a few chairs for manis and pedis. If you aren't looking for it you might drive right past as it is in a strip mall. I got a spa pedicure and it was so great that it was a challenge not to fall asleep. You can choose your scent and color and they start by lining the bin (always something that is a plus especially for feet!) I chose the mango kit which smelled good, not super strong. They exfoliate, massage, and even use warm stones on your legs. Combined with the massage chair I was in Pedicure Bliss! It was the perfect Sunday treat for myself. Not only that but my feet are as soft as butter and look amazing too! I haven't had a pedicure in years and it was incredible. The whole thing lasted over an hour and was WELL worth the ~$60 for how amazing the service was. I will 100% be back for another! My roommate also got a dip fill for her ombre nails. These turned out amazing and were super quick (about 20 minutes for a full set.) We definirecommend Lily Nails! read more

I guess I had a fluke awesome experience upon my first visit to Lily Nails, about 8 months ago. I was leaving a job in the Medford area, my toes in serious need of TLC. It was a Sunday after 5 pm, and I stumbled upon this salon, which was open, willing to help me, and took credit cards. Oh, and they have free wireless. I had the girl others have mentioned who had such a light touch I could barely feel her touching my feet. Not the best foot massage ever, but she did a nice job on my nails, and they had this cute coral color I've yet to find at any other salons. Today, they were open on the holiday and I luckily drove right by on the way to another work appointment, so I dropped in afterwards. My experience wasn't bad; more average/good. Something was funky with the jets in the pedicure tub thing and my foot turned red-- she said it was something to do with the heat of the water, but since it didn't feel that warm to me, I was surprised. She did an okay job on my nails, and I picked an obnoxiously uneven color for my hands, which she happily redid a few nails on when the paint bubbled a bit. And her attitude was awesome. I felt bad she had to deal with some bitchy bitches in the the salon. But, I did notice her own nails were nasty-- super dirty, which immediately made me question the cleanliness at this salon. I'll likely give them one more chance to wow me, and I'd advise others to do the same-- hard to know if my 5 star or 2.5 star experience is the norm. read more

So, I've been here a few times. It's within walking distance to my apartment so it only makes sense. It's easy to get to. Bam. I've only got pedicures here. I'm not a fingernail polish gal, only when I have acrylics which is too costly for me at times so that's a once a year sort of deal for me. I digress. I've had the same woman, unintentionally for my pedicures. She is very nice but too light on the hands. Like she is terrified of touching you. Now, I understand having a fear of feet - I have that fear myself but to be working at a nail shop - yikes. I'll continue to visit because of its location but in the event I go elsewhere its because I'd prefer to get my feet 'man-handled' so to speak when it comes to receiving a pedicure. Cleanliness. You see the person cleaning the station you were just at while you wait for your toes/fingers to dry. So you know that's what's going to happen every time so that's pretty clean. Walked in here last Sunday and was very impressed, the place was clean, the staff was friendly, and I was happy with what I got. I got a spa pedicure and manicure and they looked great when I left- but sadly the polish started coming off the next morning. (I know nail polish won't stay forever, but it actually came off in big pieces without me chipping or hitting my fingers at all. I think it is more of a product thing than anything else, but it is still really disappointing for what I paid. I was excited that I found a great place close to home, but now I'm not sure if I will be back. I've gone to this nail salon for many years and today was the last time. The quality and cleanliness of the place and diminished quite a bit. Chairs and foot baths need to be replaced. Nail equipment looks worn and unsanitary. They definitely over charge ($28 for a super basic pedicure and they barely cut your toe nails even when you ask for them short, and don't really pumice your feet). Doesn't help that a new nail place has opened a block down from them. On top of it all, they're slow as anything. read more

So if you follow the reviews I write, I barely even get haircuts, but I splurge every 3-4 weeks on a pedicure. I'm not really married to any particular place here in the Medford/Somerville/Cambridge area and am still willing to give many places a try, which is why I came to Lily's. I recall having gotten a mani maybe 4 years ago here, but I figured that since it's in my hood and parking on Boston Ave. is relatively easy to find, I'd give it a go. It's hard to muck up a pedi, I feel, and I had a pretty good experience. My polish, however, came off after only 4-5 days and I actually paid a lot more ($30+) than I normally pay for a similar or better service in the same area. I'd probably not be as harsh with the two-star rating, but I *have* experienced much better, more sustaining pedicures at $10+ cheaper, so I guess here we are. read more

The ladies at this joint are wonderful and prices can't be beaten, even though the quality isn't the best. They offer special deals for Tufts students, which I appreciate. Their selection of polishes is good and tools are clean. Despite being a walk-in, I was welcomed and made comfortable with water. They even offered me candy! I was there to remove a particularly bad acrylic job I had gotten in California and one of the ladies (I'm sorry, I forgot her name, but will go back, find out, and update this review) spent nearly an hour diligently prising multiple layers off my nails. Moreover, she was lovely and friendly. The damage done to my nails had been pretty deep and she conditioned and coated them with gel. More than one week down, the polish is still immaculate and there has been no breaking of my thin, brittle nails (picture attached - streaks on nails are because of the lighting). Overall, I paid $25, which is extremely affordable considering the work I got done. Yes, this salon isn't fancy, but its staff is welcoming and kind. I will definitely return and have been recommending it to all my friends. read more

I've gone here twice, both times for acrylic manicures, and have been extremely satisfied with my experiences. I live right around the corner from here, so it's convenient, and I would recommend it to anyone in the area! The employees are very friendly and attentive, and the salon is clean and comfortable. My only complaint (very minor complaint) is that during my most recent visit, the woman doing my nails was a little rough when it came to cleaning them and pushing back my cuticles. She immediately noticed my discomfort and was much more gentle from there on out. Overall, I'm extremely happy and impressed with my experience here. My nails have never looked better! read more

The place itself was fine, but I totally agree with the earlier reviewers who said that the manicurist was WAY too gentle. There were two women working there, so I wonder if the positive reviews are for the other woman and the negatives for this one. It seemed like she was REALLY afraid of being too rough that she barely touched me at all, especially when it came to buffing and trimming calluses and cuticles. It took twice as long as it should have because she was being overly careful. Somehow, my feet and hands came out drier/with more dead skin than when I went in (she was also way too hesitant while lotioning, so I think the combination made it even worse). Despite the fact that it is cheaper than other options, I really don't think it's worth the money. read more

I'm just not impressed. I have gone here a couple of times for a pedicure and I always leave feeling underwhelmed. I wear flip flops all summer. ALL summer... for everything, including day long walking trips. My feet can start to look a little busted, so I try to regulate and get routine pedicures in the summer. I need someone to scrub my feet, buff 'em up, clean 'em up and make 'em look perrty. These guys are just a little too... delicate. They don't really scrub or soak your feet. It's more like a light soak, they file your nails and then they put some paint on. And for $27.... I'll just do that myself. read more

I visited Lily's for the first time this weekend with a friend and had a great experience. Great prices ($45 for pedicure and shellac manicure) , friendly staff, and a wonderful mani/pedi--what more can you ask for? Cam (or Kam..not sure) was the sweetest and I had a great time chatting with her. We were even able to walk in on a Sunday afternoon and get in right away. There were no heated towels or free coffee, but when I left my nails looked better than they do when I leave my high(er) end salon that charges $25 for the same service. I can only rate pedicure, but I am pleased with Lily Nail. I went twice last summer and again last Saturday. The place is CLEAN. As others have said, they are not much on the soak and scrub routine, but the cuticle and polish work is good, and lasts me for 3-4 weeks.
