Fresh, delicious doughnuts. Prompt, courteous service. Love their story, and yummy doughnuts are the icing on the cake!

Doughnuts are available everywhere, there are chain companies and local shops, but I never been to one that support people with special needs. Their message is good but the doughnuts are also good. Small little place off the road, you can order online which is different and convenient. They have many different type of icing available and you can even upgrade to gourmet style which is more sugary toppings. Gourmet is too much for me, it is too sweet. Same reason I don't like Duck doughnut because they are just too much. Regular icing is just perfect in my opinion. Check out their online menu and see what you like.

I had heard about Down for Doughnuts for a while now--and only good things. My expectations were high and I didn't think they would be met, but my expectations were exceeded. These doughnuts are superb. They look simple but taste amazing. What's more amazing is the story and operation. The couple that runs this shop are high school sweethearts that have been married since 1987. Their son was born with down syndrome and they wanted to create a business related to that. Their son blurted, "I want a doughnut shop." So ... they opened a doughnut shop. It has been a huge success. The store employs 4-6 people with disabilities and the operation runs efficiently and everyone is friendly. This is along with a great product. Highly recommended.

Donuts are awesome. Right now order online and schedule your pick up time ( at least 2 hours in advance). We ordered an assorted dozen. 2nd trip ordered 6 muffins. Muffins were tasty , but undersized at $2.50 each. Walk up window limits contact. My advice is to get a dozen of each kind of donuts and skip the muffins. There are some items available which do lot appear in the website menu, but get there early for best selection.

location location location and they're open too which goes a long way in my book. I've been looking at the sign off and on for a while now and was wondering if I'd missed the show entirely? was the dream of a donut hut in the upper east end so short lived? actually, no! turns out the shop was just a long time coming and opened as the plague settled in. ouch! guess it's a nice little shop but we can't go inside right now :-( peeping though the window is just creepy so we'll wait and see. common sense and decency mean ordering on line or phoning ahead because, well, you know... the distance thing. you'll get messaged or something when it's time to get your goodies which helps with the spacing. cake doughnuts and yeasts, filled and/or frosted plus variations on the theme. really like the tightness of the yeasts, produces a good bite and just a little chew. yea! extra medium donuts!! so good!

These are the most delicious doughnuts I've ever had, hands down! Something a little different they do compared to a regular frosted doughnut is they glaze the doughnut then add the frosting on top making the doughnuts (especially the chocolate ones!!) absolutely delicious! The people who work here are so nice and helpful too!

I've passed this little local Donut shop on my way to a job sight for the past few days. Today was the day I had to go try it out and it didn't disappoint. The young lady at the register recommended the vanilla filled and I got the original glazed. They were great. Definitely recommend it if you're in the area and want a small treat.

Absolutely love this place first time going.. we tried a while back but the line was too long. The doughnuts melt in your mouth and you can tell they are handmade they are different sizes, which is awesome. I met the dad at a local red one day., he told me the story behind them opening this doughnut shop, and I love it. They give a ton back to the community. It great to have them in the community.

This is a little boutique shop (it auto-corrected to 'little booty shop' but I fixed it. Anyway,…read moreit's in the middle section (where the grass is) in Birkdale Village. But it's also at the end of the strip of shops and near the movie theater, which makes me come to a realization... You get five tiny donuts for $5 (and then they ask for tip on screen and since service was good I obliged) so you could sneak five tiny donuts into the movies and save money on movie snacks and popcorn but the donuts would be gone very quickly and popcorn lasts longer. You probably want the popcorn. Another thing about these donuts is that they are owned by the same guy that owns them at the state fair--not the donuts themselves but the donut booths. And they do taste like state fair donuts. If you're at the state fair, they're sensational. If you're at Birkdale Village, they're small sugary donuts in a really nice-looking trailer. The donuts might also be nostalgic for you as they were for me. My friend in junior high landed a date he had a crush on for two years. The date was at the state fair. I know for a fact they went on the Ferris Wheel and when it stopped at the top, the girl panicked and demanded they rotated the wheel so she could get off the freaking thing. This wish was granted, and that friend ditched her forever. It's also possible that he ate a donut.

Cute concept and super cute place! The service was great! I came here on opening day and there was…read moreno line. I ordered 2 half dozen donuts and got an assortment of them. They came out nice and warm. My favorite was the cinnamon sugar one. I wasn't a fan of the apple cider because it had a fake apple taste. The chocolate one was too bitter I think because they dusted it in cocoa powder. Overall, the donuts were nothing special and they were very overpriced. For tiny bite sized donuts they were 6 for $5. I probably wouldn't get them again.
