I read all the reviews and the ones giving them the 1 stars are prominently the people there just walked in like I did to get an estimate. How they told me that I have to go through the website and they are in a one month wait was embarrassing. Pompous insulting and I went to another shop that told me why both men upfront, as others have mentioned these two clowns, are like this. They are the top referring Autobody place for StateFarm so they're always busy. PEOPLE DONT GO HERE. THERES A CONSEQUENCE FOR BEING TWO A-Holes!!! We have had repairs done at Downers Grove Auto Builders over the years and always been very pleased. This time the door over the gas cap on my 2007. RAV4 broke off. I thought I was going to need a new part. When they looked at it they were able to repair it without getting a new one. They also popped in a back bumper that had come out without charge! Great communication and very friendly. I put a nice dent in my door scraping against a concrete stanchion. Another repair shop said they would have to order a new door. DG Auto Rebuilders were able to just repair the door. They also buffed out a small scratch on my tailgate at no charge. Cleaned it inside and out as well. Friendly Customer Service. Professional, yet Local. And Affordably Priced. About 2 months ago, we had gone to 3 other Body Shops around the area in order to get some minor fender-bender repair done for our company car, and this shop provided us with the cheapest quote. Unfortunately back then, we didn't have the funds necessary to do the repairs and had to hold off on the project until now. But even after all that time, Mike there still honored the original low-cost quote, much to our appreciation. One of the guys in the shop told me they were too busy and to come back in 5 days, The other gentleman said he can do it real quick. So the first guy stopped him and said no, they are too busy. They were not professional in the slightest and totally unwelcoming. I went to 4 places in the area to get an estimate on my front bummer and this place was slightly lower than the other 3 places. All were very nice but there was something about Mike and his brother that I wanted to work with them regardless of the 1 negative review they receive. They kept me posted and totally met my needs with in record time. All the other place had to keep my car for at least 2 days but Mike made it super easy for me. All he ask me to do was bring in the car once the part came in to make the check that it was the right part, he did his thing and call me the next day to bring in the car. I dropped it off at 9 and let him know that I have to pick up my son at 3 pm and i forgot to take the carseat out before I came. He said he will call me and let me know if that is possible and 2 pm I got a call and he was done, best part I picked it up and it was washed, he even buff out the scratches on the car that wasnt the bummer, I got a little touch up paint if I ever get a scratch, and best of all it was cheaper than the estimate because he was able to find the part cheaper. How can you I not be happy with them. Honestly if I was the owner and got a cheaper part it would be a win for me and staff but he gave me the discount, and that is how you need a customer for life. read more

I am ABSOLUTELY overwhelmed by their service. They went ABOVE & BEYOND my expectations. It is a family run business, they are so friendly and knowledgeable and honest!! The estimate I received for a small dent and few scratches was done by the father (who is a complete expert). He felt he could buff and paint it and it would look like new and only take 1 day - cost $300.00. A well known competitor told me it would take 4 days and needed new parts and it would cost me $1200.00! Not only did DG Auto Rebuilders fix my car w/in 6 hours, they called me to ask if I wanted them to take it to Meineke and have my Emissions Test done (they saw my yellow "past due" slip in the car)...WHAT??? I am very happy with the service that my family and I have received from DG Auto Rebuilders. When anything cosmetic needs to be fixed, we go straight to them without hesitation. I was on I-55 and was rear-ended into the car in front of me in stop and go traffic. The rear bumper needed to be replaced, but the front just had some spider fractures on it. I took them to DG Auto Rebuilders and they made my car look brand new. They even took care of some scratches on the car that were not a part of the accident. When I asked them about them, they said they had the opportunity to do it on the side and decided to toss it in for free! They then asked about my passenger side mirror (which had the casing knocked off from a hit-and-run). I told them that I had bought the mirror online and was waiting for an opportunity to put it on after a friend of mine got around to painting it. He said they would be able to take care of it. When I asked him how much that would run me he said "Nothing. We have some paint left over from when we repaired your bumper, might as well use it." What stand up guys. We have been going to them for business for so many years and for the most part we were happy, although they sometimes seemed to leave something left to be done, especially when it came to scratches. Granted, previously, when we would call them and mention these deficiencies, they would fix it, and it never seemed to be a big deal. Overall, we felt like they were a good company to deal with. We gave them a lot of business over the years and recommended them highly to many people. Yet, today we went to pick up our car only to receive a rude awakening as to the true nature of how they operate. Let's just say customer service is not a priority, in fact they have no qualms about being rude to their customers, even when we have been loyal to them for years, more than a decade, in fact. Today, we went to pick up our car and we saw some scratches right in the front. We asked Mike, who usually deals with us, and who I believe to be the owner or part owner, to fix these scratches, and, while he seemed to be a little irritated, he did not complain and fixed them in front of us. We left without noticing anything further. However, as we went to fill up our gas we noticed more scratches on the side that we had not noticed earlier. This was surprising and so, we called Mike again just to mention it, as they usually offered to fix these things without a problem. Well, we got a shock when we called for what should have been a routine conversation and certainly should not have been a chance for Mike to unleash whatever ill feelings he had towards us that was built up over the years despite his pretense at appreciating our loyal customer service. We have always dealt with them with complete courtesy and politeness, and in return they usually offered to give us discounts which I see now must have generated concealed resentment. That is the only explanation I can give for his shocking behavior. When we called to discuss the scratches today, Mike answered, and essentially said to us, while yelling and screaming on the phone (he has an unusually loud voice to begin with and this was so much worse and hard on our eardrums when he yelled): "You think you can come here and get your car buffed again after I gave you a discount?! We are done! We're finished! I am sick of you complaining to me. Don't bother coming here again and take your business elsewhere and see how they will treat you!!" He literally sounded almost violent and very unstable. If we had talked to him in person, or if we had said something in return (which we didn't) God knows what would've happened on his part. He probably would have sworn at us; he seems like that kind of person. His tone was just that shockingly rude and uncalled for. Yes, we will gladly take our business elsewhere. I am sure any place will treat us better than they did, as talking to a customer like that is totally unacceptable in any decent place. We will gladly take our business elsewhere, for now we have seen their true colors. I cannot stress this enough: do not go here, they do not value customer loyalty and they will treat you like dirt (as they did today) whenever they choose and on any whim. We have given them more than thousands of dollars in business (I think we have even dropped more than 10 grand on that little shop alone) and they cannot even fix and buff up a few scratches?! This just goes to show you where the customers stand in their book. They could care less how loyal we have been to them; all they care about is whether something will be a little bit of inconvenience to them, and such selfish behavior should not be tolerated by any business owner by anyone that works in their shop. Unfortunately, it seems that Mike is the owner so there is no one to take our grievances to except good old Yelp. Thank you, Yelp, for being there. To all those who have given them five stars, I will say this: We would have given them five stars as well in the past, but their behavior today should be a wake up call to everybody. I wanted to let you all know how little they truly value customer loyalty; you have been forewarned. Take your business where they will appreciate you, not where they will treat you like dirt after literally more than a decade of having a loyal customer relationship with them. I had visited them to get a small crack on front bumper and a slight dent and rust on back panel of the car to repaired. Not only were they highly professional in giving me a quote they actually advised me to leave the dent and bumper crack as is saying there is no major need to fix them. The guy even painted over the rust and gave extra paint to me in a bottle for future use.
