Took my elderly and wheelchair bound father to this dental specialist for consultation. If you are immobile, park outside in the back of the building and enter the building through the ramp. Be prepared to go slowly up the steep ramp! Friendly and very patient front office and clinical staff. They were able to examine my father while he remained in his wheelchair. i cannot believe this just occurred. i booked an appointment with Gabby N. (the Management of this location) on Wed for next day. I need an extraction on my wisdom tooth. I am in extreme pain, I cannot eat nor sleep. I was told by Gabby that my appointment would consist of a consult, x-rays then extraction due to the location of tooth, the damage it may cause by remaining there and lack of food that i have been getting into my system. my mouth is literally swollen and cannot open past an inch wide. I just got to the dentist office. 2 hours, and arguments later, I have been told to leave. Gabby made an appointment knowing the schedule did not fit any other surgeries. Upon arriving, Gabby shared with me that "she was in contact with my mother for my appointment, and frankly she doesn't understand why my mother was calling, why i did not do the foot work myself, why i am upset about the pain i'm in, etc. I told Gabby calmly and respectfully, I think we should change the topic to the treatment plan because this is upsetting. My mother was only trying to help me. I asked the front desk for assistance from another person, because we don't seem to be understanding each other and that was denied. I shared that I was in pain, and I only want help with it. I was told "well i'm sick" by GABBY. Dentist came back into the room after an hour and a half, only to tell me that the schedule was completely booked and I would need another authorization for this removal. despite me having a referral and cash. Gabby then continued to hand me my referral paper and order me to leave because she "wasn't going to help me with my procedure", (she's not even a dentist) Do not go here. The receptionist at this dental office has a bad attitude and does not know how to do her job. Her tone of voice sounds like she does not want to talk to people. She gave me a total price of $3,600 for the total cost of a procedure that I need to get done. After I brought up a necessary part of the procedure that the doctor mentioned I needed, she then added another $500. The total prices are deceiving because they add surprise additional charges. I am not sure if it's because I have insurance or not, but I had a great experience. Dr. Mc Andrews was kind and funny, put me right at ease with the way he explained things to me. Yesterday I had an appointment at 1 PM to extract all four wisdom teeth with general anesthesia. I arrived early and was taken in immediately. The staff was all friendly, funny, and professional. Dr. McAndrews extracted all four teeth in under 20 minutes. It was such a quick and easy procedure. The next day after surgery I have no pain, nor swelling. I was able to drink and eat the same day with no discomfort. I am very pleased that my surgery went well with no problems involved. I am impressed how nice the staff was, they were all attentive and answered any questions I had. I had two oral surgeries performed here to remove all wisdom tooth, and I couldn't be more satisfied. The staff was nice and friendly and the waiting time on each appointment was minimal. The office was extremely clean and organized as well. Dr. Andrews was amazing and made me feel very comfortable every step of the way. I didn't even feel when he inserted the IV and three seconds later I was out! The surgery lasted about 15 minutes and the pain was not that bad even after the medication wore off. I also had very little swallowing and no bruising. The staff contacted me next day to see how was I doing which was a nice detail. A week later, I went to my follow up appointment and the experience was as pleasant as every other; no wait, friendly staff, and attentive Dentist. I just called the office to try an make an appt. to see the the oral surgeon, the office had no compassion for my situation. My dentist recommended to make an emergency appt. with an oral surgeon because my son had a very bad wisdom tooth infection and the other wisdom teeth were coming in and making my kid sick. She asked me what kind of insurance my kid still has medi-cal and she said that for medi-cal the next appt was for the end of the month. I asked if I had cash how soon could I get my son in and she said that for that I would be able to see the surgeon the following monday. I dont think that an oral surgeon that accepts medi-cal as a form of payment should make their patients feel any less if they use medical, cash or straight insurance. People are people regardless of what form of payment they use. read more

Only to find out from another DENTAL OFFICE after doing a full mouth of xrays that 1/2 of the lower tooth was left in. I was NEVER told about this. After emailing proof of the tooth, I asked for a portion of my $$$ back. HOWEVER the RUDE, ARROGANT ASSISTANT RENE, NEVER EVEN APOLOGIZED, only the offer of an appt to remove the remainder. Who would want to go back after being treated like this, & now having lack of trust on top if that. NOT TO MENTION I WAS OVER CHARGED TO BEGIN WITH ! I was a cash patient and charged $900, & embarrassed to say I DID NOT DO MY HOMEWORK with prices PRIOR. After paying this ridiculous amount, I found another oral surgeon in WESTWOOD for my other daughter. I bit on a whole peppercorn at a chinese restaurant causing a hairline fracture in a tooth. Sure enough, two years later it cracked my tooth. Dr. McAndrews extracted the cracked tooth, a wisdom tooth, and and we are now going through the implant process. I have to say he's an amazingly talented surgeon with the friendliest office staff I've ever encountered. Everybody in this office goes out of their way to ensure every patient feels comfortable and safe. I mean come on, who wants to go see an oral surgeon? When we do, it's because the pain is becoming unbearable. The only thing that impresses me more than the level of professionalism I've received is the singular competence and exceptional care that everyone in this office has extended to me and my wife - yes, she's going through a procedure here too. I just had my very first wisdom tooth extraction. Ohmmgg. It was so fast. My flu shot hurt more than the numbing needles. Dr. McAndrews and staff were awesome. They were very professional and kind. Not a good experience at all. The customer service I received from staff member in the billing dept was poor. Long story short due to poor billing and not verifying my benefits I was sent a bill several months later and threatened to get sent to collections for almost $400 for a 10 minute consultation. Had a great experience with this dental surgeon and office staff. My 94 yr old dad had two teeth hurting him and we were able to get an emergency appt. the same day! I was afraid my dad would get very upset from the pain as he had when three teeth needed to come out two years before. (Went to another oral surgeon at the time.) But it only took about 20 minutes and my dad was sitting placidly in the chair afterwards - no problem at all. I appreciated Dr. McAndrew's compassion with my elderly dad and he obviously did GREAT work as my dad suffered very little pain after and no obvious swelling. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that this office is a 1 1/2 star business. I feel they are a zero star but that's not an option to chose in this forum. They performed oral surgery in me by extracting 4 teeth in January. Today I called because I have a piece of either bone or tooth creating much pain protruding through my gum line. I called spoke with a Michael whom said I can be seen at 1:45. I arrived at 1:40 to be told there would be a 45 minute wait. I said well let me just run home change out of work clothes and I'll be back. I then receive a phone call telling me I can't be seen. My initial consultation with Mcandrews was in January only to be pushed back due to him not being available. Another surgeon performed my surgery and apparently didn't do something right. They don't stand behind there work. Will pull a bait and switch with what surgeon actually treats you. And they create great inconvenience for there patients. I would stay away from this office. read more
