Worst customer service. DO NOT COME HERE!! The old lady/owner Kitty has terrible customer etiquette and approached my farther and I upon arrival with hostility when I asked to pick up an order for my sister in law. We were given misinformation about who can pick up the order when my sister in law was told by another employee that I would be able to pick up with a picture of the receipt. When I explained that her she cut me off and aggressively and said she needed a physical copy of my sister in law's ID and the copy of the receipt. Mind you my father and I already drove 35 mins to get there. She refused to let me pick up the order and I had called my sister in law and had her on the phone and asked if I can FaceTime her and she can show her ID and the receipt. Once again with hostility shut me down and refused to give me the tables/chairs that were already paid for in full amount. My father and I had to drive back to Orange County and wasted another 35 mins driving back here, my sister in law had to drive there and explain to Kitty and whom else that my father and I would be picking up the order and had to leave a description of us. Finally, another 35 mins wasted just to drive there AGAIN the older lady still gave my father and I a hard time and made my father pull out his ID. I have rented from Downey Party Rentals for years. Its just a regular Party Rental place. They have everything you need for your party. When you walk in it is typical. They try to get one of everything on display so you can see what they have and it helps you remember what you may have forgotten. Their pricing is reasonable. I always get tables and chairs, tablecloths and napkins. Sometimes I get umbrellas and maybe some various other stuff. They have just about everything. Their rental terms around the holidays are really flexible and you don't have to rearrange your whole life to pick up or return your stuff. They also deliver and pick it up, sometimes I have it delivered but there is an additional charge for that. But the main thing that keeps me coming back here is the service. There are other places closer to me but Kitty and Nick are the best. They are so friendly, nice and accommodating! Why would I want to go anywhere else. read more

This is the WORST rental place ever! We recently had a devastating death in the family. My daughter went to this place and Kitty supposedly help her! Not! She sold a bunch of BS which was old and mildewed! We received 2 10X20 tents which holes all over the canopy, 12 splinter ridden tables, 6 of which wouldn't fit under the tents and 6 tablecloths!!! All to the tune of $985.00!! WTF... we're devastated! It to mention we paid for black chairs and received white! Kitty was more concerned about her tables than our guests land told us "to store" her tables so THEY wouldn't get wet!! What about my guest!? I said forget your tables will my guest be wet, my food...they brought the wrong size canopy and Nick had a tantrum because he was hungry! The other2 guys were really nice but the owner and her son off the hook! When I inquired about the mildew and holes all over the place, another old guy was miffed saying wait a minute cause I'm working on it. I gave him time even though the tents were LEAKING! He became belligerent and told me he'll "take the shit down and I won't have anything!" Not without giving all my money back you not!!! I called downey party rentals about 20 mins before closing and explained my situation, she told me to come down the next morning and I could still rent what I needed. They mentioned they usually have available chairs and tables any day because they have a lot of inventory. I am so thankful they saved the day. This place has horrible customer sírveme skills ! They charge excessively and make you pay for the smallest things. I wouldn't ever do business with them again nor recommend them to anyone. There are plenty of party rentals that's charge 1/3 of that they charge and go above and beyond to keep your business . They charged us a table cover that had a stain that was actually not even visible ! It was smaller than a seed. To top it off they charged more than what the actual cover cost them! This is just one examples the bad experience I had with them. If you want to rent supplies Google part rentals and there is one in Pico that is great! It would not cost 25 for replace that linen. First off when I called they were friendly, answered all my questions and have a large inventory, I called another place and they had a $65 min. So I rented some chairs for my bday party. 20 chars $20 something dollars no big deal. I picked them up Saturday and was suppose to return Monday. Well as we all do I forgot to take them Monday. We Rented a slushy machine here for a retirement party. The machine leaked & we had to leave during the party to go replace the O-ring. Thank goodness Home Depot had the part. two days later finally got to speak with the owner kitty who was unwilling to make things right . She also said it was our fault for waiting for the last minute to turn the machine on. she refused to listen or give us a partial refund nor did she offered to pay for the part that we bought . she also proceeded to say she did not like my tone or attitude now she's angry and requested we call her back tomorrow when she had time to calm down & then she hung up. I'm renting a pop corn machine (best price I found), and I've never rented one before. Obviously, I'll have tons of questions. As soon as I walked in I was approached by an elderly lady very aggressively. She seemed very annoyed. As if I was interrupting her work. Right off the back we clashed. Called about a dance floor rental and the gentleman who helped me was very thorough and said to come in to book. When I went in, the woman who was helping me right away went into how bad their dance floor is, how beat up it is and even went as far as to say she keeps a piece of it out so people can see how bad of a condition it is in. What kind of place does that; who displays how bad their rentals are so that people don't rent from them? It would be helpful if the person on the phones just said that they didn't have a dance floor so I didn't waste my time going there and now have to start over. read more

My husband was in the area on Friday and decided to stop by to pick up the astro turf we rented. Because I was at work I failed to give him the copy of receipt, she refused to give him the astro turf. I called her and asked her if she can please accept me faxing over a copy of the invoice and I would sign authorizing my husband to pick up the astro turf. He can provide his identification and he had the 50.00 deposit with him. She refused, very rude told us he had to drive to my location and pick up the receipt and drive back again.
