Had Downriver Door come out a couple years ago to replace my springs on my garage door. I have a wayne dalton and he suggested to change the spring system. I agreed, but with the new system the put cheap springs and one broke only after 2 years. I will not use this company again. Just had another garge door company out to look at it and downriver door and window put the wrong springs on my door due to it weighing 246 pounds. buy beware read more

Got 4 doors 2 years ago. He installed the doors with the wrong handles even after I told him I didn't want that color handles. I have called him 10 times to replace them. Always an excuse about the manufacturer in China. I don't care about that, he should not have installed the doors if they were wrong. The doors are cheap, the screen is loose and the weather strip is peeling. Not worth the extra money. Go to a budget store. Very disappointed that I have to keep calling to get what I paid for, I don't care if he buys the handles from home depot it is just wrong. We purchased a custom ordered front entry door from Joe at Down River Door. From day 1 we had issues with the paint not matching where the trim work was installed. The window trim on all 3 of the windows began peeling. We notified Joe 7 months ago and he promised that he would take care of it. After phone call after phone call and broken promise after broken promise, he has refused to do anything what so ever to remedy the problem. Every phone call included a different excuse on his part. Think twice about purchasing a door from him. I attempted to post pictures but they don't seem to be posting. He presents well in a sales call, but once he has your money, he is finished with you. Gas prices don't Fluctuate as much as his prices for parts and labor. I do not recommend his services, if you do go ahead and purchase the parts instead of him providing them as they will go up almost 50% in price. And if you have a nice car in your Garage, make sure it's hidden and put away as prices seem to go up as well for some strange reason. However he will get the job done it just might cost you an arm and a leg. read more

Made mistake of paying them without checking doors. Poor workmanship, door pours in water every time it rains ruining floor etc. Has made every excuses why he cant get here to fix "We dont work on Mondays", "I have golf on tuesdays" " I will be there today myself to fix" but never shows up. Joe the owner is very rude text messages and on phone. Been weeks and weeks and now wont return calls. He subs out his work and have gotten excuse after excuse from them as well. Yes he is cheaper but you get what you pay for! Beware/Stay clear of this company! This is no way to treat a customer. read more

i normally do not post reviews, but i give this company no stars but had to select one in order to post a review..!. they charged us 650.00 to replace a roton hinge on a door at a medical professional building 3 weeks ago and the door is now not hanging properly. first of all, they replaced it with a hinge that clearly does not even match the one it had but ok its just aesthetics as long as door works. the door is not hanging properly. i called and spoke to joe today and joe said he will not come out and even look at or see his poor work that he had done due to the owner questioning and wanting to understand why her lock fell out of the very door 1 week after "joe" repaired it. so if you question their work, that is enough for them to say to you that they will not even come out and look at their repair job. i have dealt with a lot of vendors, none of them have are this way! this is the first and last time we will ever use this company. i recommend you do not use these people!!!! call american lock and key they will service you better and some door repairs they can do. avoid this company! i should have known when joe showed up in a truck about to fall apart, stuff falling out of the truck as he opens the door, hole in the crouch of his shorts when he bent over, just very unprofessional and unorganized. but i thought shouldnt judge a book by its cover, he's here to help, or so i thought!! until he collects $$ anyways.. its apparent they do not take ownership over their work! they will take your money and you are on your own if you have any issues at all with their shotty job! beware! read more

His name is Joe Hale. He took me for $1350. I ordered a white door and I got a primed white door. I ordered a storm door and got a broken used storm door. He wrecked my door frame by drilling holes right thru it. I could not even lock both locks because they did not line up. The plates were crooked and not even installed properly. Unfortunately I left a check for my mother to give to him because I could not be home at the time it was installed. She gave him the check before he was done. When i came home, he was gone and I had a huge mess on my hands. The plates were crooked and not recessed, both doors damaged, putty all over everything. I called Joe and he said I was crazy everything was fine, he would come fix whatever little problem there was. When he got here, he started out by calling my mother a liar because she told him my neighbors came over to look at the job. Why would she lie about that. He just didn't want anyone to see his absolute terrible job he did. He actually came up to my house with a screwdriver and 8 toothpicks to fix the door. REALLY??? I kick him out of my house. I do have pictures but I can't post them at this time. I can assure you it was terrible. I am stuck with 2 wrong doors and the existing frame was all hacked up. I can tell you he is a one man operation. He never answers his phone. He is always screening his calls. His phone says "I am either up on a ladder or with a customer, I will call you back within 15 minutes. He is a one man wrecking crew. And of all days, it happened on my mothers birthday.
