WOW!! Just went to the office and had a completely different Idea of what was going to happen.. came away just delighted with every one I met. I thought I'd be getting an extraction and implant, as I was told that I'd need a root canal and crown on this tooth.. But dr Ricardo was amazing and actually managed to fix the issue and save the tooth from root canal. I am truly grateful and loved the staff and all I met there. My friend just accompanied me as it was my first time going to Tijuana and walking in and she lives nearer in San Diego and does trips there more frequently. She ended up getting a cleaning and night guards the same day-- gratefully they could fit her in around my appointment. It was such an excellent experience for both of us! Highly recommended. 6 years later the root canal from Baja had to be re-done. Only 80% of the canal was filled; the last 20 was left unfilled (according to x-rays). Sure enough, that unfilled portion got re-infected. Apparently failing to fully fill the canal is common with lower priced Mexican dentists. This procedure should last the life of the tooth if done correctly. If not done completely, it's a gamble how long before infection comes back. read more

I found this dental office to be superb in both professionally and client care. I and my wife both had wonderful experiences with the staff and the dentists. The location was in a very business oriented area near very good hotels and restaurants very short walking distance. I had eight caps done in one week and they look great! We traveled from the Bay Area and had a mini vacation after we cross the border. After having horrible and expensive experiences with so call high end dentists here in the states, this was completely the opposite. Both the receptionist, Olga and the dentist Lupita were fantastic, I'm sure the others and just as great. We're planning to back next year for more work. I recently experienced the dread of having to have dental work done. After visiting several local dentist's in my area, I was fortunate enough to have a recommendation to this dentist and although it was not local, it certainly was worth the drive. From the moment I called to get an appointment until I got a quote for work to be done, I was made to feel absolutely confident. The staff was friendly and made me feel confident. I was certainly not excited about having dental work done, but everyone was very accommodating and not to mention that this particular place compared to the local quotes I got for dental work was about 75% less for the same work, I decided to get my dental work done here. I'm glad I did. The dentist personalized my experience by making sure I was comfortable and I was also impressed with the technology this center has in comparison to the dentists here in the U.S. There is a stigma about dentistry in TJ but I can attest to the fact that out of the 4 dental offices I visited in the U.S. BOC was above and beyond more professional, equipped and caring, the bonus was that their prices and work are worthy of my recommendation. read more

This is an A+ establishment. All the staff speaks perfect English and are really friendly. The office was hip and modern and the music was chill. Dr. Garcia communicated with me explaining what she was doing as she went. She did the cleaning herself. I was amazed that I got in and out in just over an hour for a cleaning (it had been 4 years--yikes!) she bonded a broken tooth, and took an impression for a night guard. Also, she didn't try to upsell me on a crown, but let me know that it might be necessary later. I went across the street for lunch and 45 minutes later I came back and picked up my dental guard, for a grand total of $240. My night guard alone cost $600 last time in the states. Sparkling cLean every time we go, receptionist is so helpful and is bilingual. The are very accommodating to my folks and my mom is in a wheelchair. Elevators or stairs. ADA except their restroom, wheelchair could not go in nor is there space inside for a wheelchair. The are very patient, the doctor came out to meet and talk to my mom after we informed him she was a bit apprehensive. He was very encouraging to her. On site parking in building, and walking distance (one block) to pharmacy and a fabulous restaurant across the street. All the staff at dentist are very kind and polite. Free WiFi, coffee, tea water. Kids welcome I brought mine 14, 7, and they waited in waiting room with my folks. and 3. Prices $150 for post, $350-500 per crown, and $250 for root canal. Pay as you go plan. read more

I will no longer be a patient at Baja Oral because: - no one confirmed the time of my appointment either by email or phone, basically I was confused by inconsistent responses/contact (in fact, I think sent about three emails trying to get in touch prior to a second appointment) - no one gave me a receipt for my prior services although I was promised one (I need receipts for the way that I finance my dental work) - when I had an extraction in November the original implant specialist doctor that I had planned to see did not see me -I was not given a bone graft with the extraction which I have learned was a mistake by another dentist who showed me that a bone graft is needed as seen in a cone beam imaging CT scan (the bone graft would have been more successful at the time of extraction too) -the cost was slightly higher for an extraction than stated on the website (I could have had the extraction done closer to me for much less money actually) I did have a pain free extraction, the dentist and office staff were nice but because of the stated problems above I believe Baja Oral's dental services could be improved and I will seek my implant elsewhere. Edited to add: It's been over two years now and my veneers are still as pretty as the day they were done. I have not been taking special care of my veneers; I adore caramel and I clench my teeth a lot, so, if anything was going to chip or get loose, that would've happened by now. I feel like my teeth and gums are in better shape than they've ever been before, and that really says something. *** Dr Garcia and his staff are consummate professionals, and they work hard to make sure you're completely happy with your results. It means you'll probably make more than one visit if you're getting more than just basic work done, but it's worth the trip. Their office is impeccably clean, with all the latest fancy toys, bells and whistles you would expect at a Beverly Hills dentist, and they speak fluent English. (They of course converse with one another in Spanish, but they'll translate everything you need to know.) I'm sure their prices vary slightly with the exchange rates, but are substantially less than you would pay at a bargain US dentist, even if you account for travel expenses. I had three crowns, an implant abutment and implant crown, *twelve* porcelain veneers, and four fillings done, plus got a copy of my impressions, and a night guard, all for less than $7500. Now that is amazing. They're also willing to go to extraordinary lengths to make sure they do the job the right way -- I had a very rare type of implant that needed an abutment and crown. It took them a while to source the correct tools, but it was worth the wait! They're literally the best dentists I've ever visited, and I have had so much dentistry done, seriously. I'm a long time Yelp lurker without an account, so I just created one to leave this review. Dr.Luis and his staff were amazing! A++ on communication and professionalism. I was able to get scheduled in within the week I called and the entire work (root canal+porcelain crown) was done in 1 day; not to mention an unbeatable price. Also the whole crossing the border was a zinch! I left my car in the border parking lot across from the outlets in San Ysidro for $9, walked like 10min across the border, and ordered an Uber on the other side to the office for $3. Crossing back into the US wasn't a problem at all either, just the 10min walk back to the parking lot.. Note this is on a Wednesday night; I don't know why I haven't been doing that for years, instead driving and getting stuck in the exit line for hours. I was looking for a dental office for a crown and cleaning. I don't have dental insurance in California where I live so it was going to be over $2,000. I found this place and the front desk associate Joseph was so helpful over the phone and email. I can't express enough how friendly all the staff is here. Not only were they so nice and helpful but the technicians were gentle and friendly. Even the other patrons in the waiting room were so delightful. After about 3 phone calls with no luck, I became a little nervous. Why do they not have a dentist there? Were they just hoping to find one? I'm going to begin by saying that I was quoted over $800 to fix 3 cavities by a dentist in San Francisco. That's quite a bit of money that I don't have laying around. This review is for March 22, 2018. I grew up in San Diego and have been hearing that Tijuana is a great place to go for dental work. I did my research and found Baja Oral Center. I literally have nothing bad to say about my experience. So professional, super friendly, and really thorough in their work. We parked our car and walked across the border, ordered an Uber for $2, and then walked back across. The whole experience from border to border only took an hour and a half. We were greeted by a super friendly guy at the front desk who offered us bottles of water. They even took me in early. They did some x-rays and got straight to the point, no waiting around for multiple people to check in on you, and my female dentist was amazing. Absolutely painless. Turns out I only needed two cavities filled, and it cost $120 overall. I highly recommend this business! I'm already telling all of my friends and family. read more

I had an appt last monday to replace a broken upper denture. It was a difficult process getting the right fit for the denture due to some uneveness in my jaw and i was there longer than expected as Dr Garcia took the time to redo it a few times to make it feel as comfortable as possible. I got the denture Friday and it feels great and looks good. And the price was better than i thought. I highly recommend this dental office. read more

I found this place from a Yelp search and I took a gamble on it. There are so mAny dentists in TJ, that it's hard to figure out which is good. I got lucky. I thought the prices were reasonable and the dentist who did my fillings did careful and good work. I am heading back down to finish the other side of my mouth. Getting there was also not bad. I parked in a guarded lot for $8 for 12 hour limit. Then I walked through the check in building and got a free entry pass and ordered an Uber ride to the address shown on Yelp. It took 15 min and around $2 USD. The building was professional and the office was modern and clean. The trip back was also minutes. There were no lines at the pedestrian entry at 3 pm on Tuesday. I've been going to Baja Oral Center for a number of years now and have always been happy with the results I got there. Dr. Garcia is a wonderful dentist. He's a very charming guy, and he'll make you feel right at home. The staff is great and everyone speaks perfect English. They have the latest, up-to-date equipment. Nothing is lacking except the price for excellent dental care. Compared to dentistry in the US, the cost of dentistry at Baja Oral Center is minimal. I have had a dental implant performed by Dr Martinez there, and specialists are available for root canals and more elaborate dentistry. They will try to minimize the number of trips you have to make over the border. I always park in the parking garage right in the professional building where the offices are located. It costs about $2.50 USD. I have a SENTRI pass which allows me to get back over the border without a long wait. Yesterday it took about 5 minutes. I would highly recommend Dr Garcia and his team of dentists and specialists, and it won't bust your wallet especially if you need extensive dental work. read more

This review is way over due!! I've been coming to Baja Oral Center for over 3 years now, and I won't go anywhere else. I've had a TON of work done including a root canal, extraction, multi-unit bridge, two implants and cleanings!! They are so gentle and calmed my extreme fear of dentists. They accept insurance which has been great because their prices are so fair that with the insurance reimbursement I pay nearly nothing out of pocket. Their prices are on their website. My entire family comes here now and every single person has had a great experience. It's worth the trip from Orange County, CA, even with the border crossing. Dr. Garcia, Dr. Lupita, Joseph and the rest of the staff are so nice plus their English is great. They just remodeled their office and it's so modern, clean and beautiful. Two Terrible Experiences, there will not be a third. All I will say if your already on your way is PRAY that Eva Arriaga is not your "specialist"... First thing to understand I am a gringo who speaks semi fluent spanish and lives in Tijuana. Something to undestand about Dentistry in Mexico, special procedures like root canals are done by specialist and those specialist are generally young and inexperienced. My first procedure with baja oral was like going to a nail salon or barber shop, the specialist was having conversations with everyone in the office, topics included "weather or not a mutual acquaintance of theirs was Gay", meanwhile drilling in my mouth and clearly focused on anything BUT DENTISTRY. After a year passed (this month June 2019) I decided to give them another shot so I set up another appointment requesting another specialist to perform another root canal with hopes that this time would be more professional. Set an appointment for 12 noon, Missed my alarm, Missed the appointment, when I woke up I felt terrible and called Baja Oral Immediately, I apologized profusely, they told me, no problem that they had an opening at three, I thank them, apologize again and was sure to arrive 10 minutes early. When I was seated in the chair I offered a sincere apology to the specialist (Eva Arriaga) saying I'm so sorry I was up all night and missed my alarm, The tone I used was one of complete remorse and I was not offering a lame excuse, I just told her the absolute truth, why I missed the appointment. she then responded as if waiting to scold me "thats not our fault" I said it's not at all and that I am terribly sorry, She had such an aggressive tone with me continuing to lecture me over how other people have appointments and how I was LUCKY that they were seeing me. Her condescending, aggressive tone, made me so uncomfortable, I had to leave, I said ok, that is ok, and began standing up, calmly, she proceeded to berate me (Eva Arriaga) as I made my way toward reception, I explained to them what had just happened and reminded them there are hundreds of dentists in Tijuana and that they failed to be professional two times. their prices aren't even that much cheaper and they use some out dated practices. I had 13 crown/onlays installed and all of my amalgam filings replaced in 2 days that were one week apart. First, that was a really dumb idea, doing it that fast. It was my idea, but I would not recommend doing it that way. Stretch it out if you can, that was way to short a time for that much work, the recovery was a challenge. I did it because it's a 2 to 3 hour drive for me to get to the border. Second, and most importantly, they were awesome! Perfect English, explained everything before we started, great work, will use them again when necessary. Really nice people! They were very patient with me, went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable (in the chair a long time). They were very, very friendly and the office is quite nice. Great job with the numbing injections, very, very little pain. Excellent job perfecting the bite, no issues chewing hard stuff after a bit of healing. We had long sessions and they diligently worked them with a smile. Very, very professional, the entire staff. (I wound up interacting with pretty much all of them). The lab for the crowns is in the building so they came really fast and fit quite well. Xrays and all the work on the bottom of my mouth was done the first day. Did the top of my mouth the second day, a week later. They provided a full and complete estimate of all costs after the initial exam and it was significantly less expensive than my US dentist's estimate. Even including a wisdom tooth removal that was not included on the US dentist estimate. About 1/8th the cost. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I went to them because they had a 5 star total Yelp review. I'm giving them 5 stars also. My insurance paid it's part so I got some of my money back that way. It's really cool that my insurance recognized them as licensed dentists and covers the work in spite of their not being in the US and reimbursed me up to their limits. I found a recommendation online to park on the US side by a Trolley station and take the Trolley to and from the border. Do this, you get across the border much much faster than driving across, hours faster. The dentist even paid for the Uber back to the border to walk back across. The office is close to the border, about a 5 minute Uber drive there after walking across. read more

I went here yesterday to get my teeth worked on. I went to a dentist in my local area of Orange County and they told me I had 9 cavities and it was going to cost me an arm and a leg to get fillings, even with insurance. Since a lot of Americans are coming down to TJ for dental work I decided to do some research and found this place. This place is pretty easy to get to once you cross the border by car. It's located very close to the freeway so you don't have to navigate all over the city. There is both parking across the street and a parking lot at the building where the office is. Depending on how long you're at the office. It should not cost you more than 2 to 3 bucks. The office is very clean and well kept. It definitely has the same standards as a dentistry in the US. The staff here speak very good English and are very honest with what you need done. It turned out that they couldn't find any of the cavities that were reported by the dentist I saw in my local area. Not even one! I was shocked and asked them how this could be. They told me that sometimes X-rays aren't accurate and it could look like there might be something there but there isn't. They even did X-rays themselves, and results came back negative for cavities. I'm very satisfied with this place and will be coming here for dental work in the future. The only con is that you'll need to dedicate your whole day if you drive down from Southern California to TJ since you'll be waiting a while to get back into the US, but if it means saving hundreds if not thousands, I think it's worth it. read more

Dr. Pedro Martinez, Maxillofacial Surgeon, just removed my badly impacted wisdom teeth, and I feel great! You can trust him and his team. We will recommend him to our friends and family. The entire process was smooth. Took x-ray next door, took to Dr. Martinez staff, gave me pricing, I agreed. Afterwards, they gave me severals pills to prepare. Embarrassingly, I had an anxiety attack 20 min. in, but Dr. Martinez was calm and even told me we could stop if I wanted to. He gave me half a dosage to relax and 15 minutes to rest. This did the trick! I didn't feel any pain. Before I knew it, we were done! Coming back in 2-3 weeks to remove two more. By the way, he's fluent in English. read more

One of the best dental experiences I have ever had! I had my first root canal here and I was pretty nervous going in but they made me very comfortable and the procedure was painless. OH Man...I am SOOOO pleased at the work Dr Lupita and Dr Godinez did for me!!!  They were extremely patient with me, but I NEVER had to wait for them!!  Scared of EVERYTHING, I was in GREAT HANDS.  I WILL be going back for ALL of my dental needs.!!  Anesthesthetist came in and  promptly administered the IV sedation AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY PAINLESS!!  YES PAINLESS!!  They didn't give me anything for anxiety or lidocaine either. They really try to run on time, and let give apologetic updates if anything's taking longer than expected. Prices are reasonable, even for TJ. I highly recommend Dr. Cano and Baja Oral, not so much for the cost of dental care compared to the States, but simply better equipment, accommodating schedules, and overall top care. Oh, and of course easier on the pocketbook. I did my research, visited four dental offices in TJ and settled on Baja. It was worth the drive from Los Angeles. Consider I have dental insurance stateside, but its worth crap. Can't get an appointment that fits my busy schedule that doesn't go out three months just for consultation. And then insurance coverage for cosmetic work costs double out of pocket vs Baja. Got all my work done November 2018 in 3 appointments. I purposely waited 6 months before posting.
