Stop #4 and I had high hopes when we first stepped in. The gentleman at the door was polite and welcoming. The space is small but they have lots of options clear up to the ceiling utilizing all the space available. My daughter wanted to see a short sleeve lace top dress in mauve and the lady at the back of the store said No. "The color too old for you. Try maroon, better, younger. That's your size." #strike1. Then my daughter asked to see a full skirt gown. Again the lady said No. "You big. Big skirt gonna make you bigger" as she spread her hands out in front of her like a ball. #strikeWTF My daughter tried on the maroon dress and then this baby blue dress the lady shoved into her dressing room without knocking. If I could give this place a 0 I would, but that's not possible. The lady at the register is one of the rudest women I've ever encountered. First, she tells my mom to sit down, then rudely tells her to get back up not a minute later bc she needed extra hands to zip me up. No kidding she went "i said stand up." to my mom just because she didn't hear the first time. The dress was very tight on me but that lady insisted. I swear i felt like I couldn't breathe. I was looking for a place that had formal dresses for kids. When we walked in, we're immediately greeted and led to the area where the kids dresses were. The guy asked her what color dress she wanted and when she told him he started pulling the ones they had out. Both him and his wife were the absolute sweetest and so helpful. The lady definitely knew her stuff and even knew what shoe size to bring without me even having to tell her what size. The prices were very reasonable and the dresses are really good quality. I loved this shop and had a great time choosing and selecting the dress I wanted. I went to one shop before hand and looked for hours. I couldn't find the perfect dress, but decided on an okay one. Walking down the street we ran into this shop, and it was already near closing, but they welcomed us and helped us so much. I found a dress and fell in love, and it was gorgeous. They gave me free alterations, shoes, and jewelry, and took the shoes out of the final price because I had shoes already. Overall a great experience, and the lady was so nice. Pros: Lots of dress shirt, tie and few vest colors for a cheap price. Cheap Tux for those on a budget. They got nice selection of dresses also. Cons: Sometimes they can be unwelcoming but not all the time. Not making excuses but that's how some Chinese cultures are, very aggressive and blunt especially under stress. The lady doesn't mean to be rude it's because some Chinese languages sounds loud so when they speak in English it's loud lol. Who's cares though? They have nice selections and affordable! However, due to her attitude and clear disregard for customers...we took our cash and bought gowns at Do's Fashion, a block away from this rat hole. People are saying that the clothes in the store are falling apart or is dusty, but little do you know, she doesn't sell you the garments in the store! She orders you brand new ones! The ones in the store are solely for trying on. This place is cheap, has Quality dresses in comparisonto Do's formal which was ratty asf and Calista was fob looking and wayyy to expensive.. You can go somewhere else expensive and get the same product. It all comes from China. I pretty much found the same style dress as Calista at this store, but nicer and $100 cheaper! Prom: I went to Do's Formal & Calista by Cotton Cargo before I came to this place. I loved the dresses there but they were out of my price range especially since it's coming out of my own pocket. They(one woman and a man, a couple?) were very welcoming and nice. I tried on like 4 dresses and the lady even recommended which ones would look better on me(out of the 4) along with my siblings, brothers girlfriend and other half. I didn't once feel pressured or felt like they were complimenting me just to make a sale like how other shops would, or maybe it was just me personally. The changing room is small so if you're trying to try it on with someone, it's better to wait till they come out. There is high heels inside the room to use if you need to see if you need to alter your dress. I really loved the color and style(which is what I was looking for). The pictures are edited & it's slightly darker than the actual color(the last photo will show the actual color). My dress was 231$. She let us know about the different types of payment before we paid. For example, give a certain amount to her every day/week or whatever it may be until it is paid off or put it on hold for a couple days if I find another dress. I gave her 40$ for that moment so I could go right outside to pull out more money & pay in full. No problems at all. She did let me take pictures and video but only of me in the dresses. She also gave us a card to give them a call if we need alteration, etc(I just looked at their card, their name is Andy and Teresa. If you are not ABSOLUTELY of purchasing a dress, do not get it and complain that you want your money back. All sales are final so no exchanges or refunds. So be absolutely sure if you want to purchase. I'll be back to give them a prom picture:) read more

My daughter is a size 00 and we had a difficult time finding a dress for her prom. We had gone to 5 other stores before discovering Downtown Fashions. When we walked in they were very welcoming. All the gowns were up high for display and protection from being mishandled. The options were endless, they were very patient, and the sequence were stitched professionally with detail. This place is literally packed from the ceiling to the floor in dresses. After going to two dress stores near by, it was nice to go into a store and see all of what they had to offer displayed in a way that didn't involve me running around in circles, peddling through countless racks. I instantly found a dress that I liked. Though they didn't have my size, I was assured that it would be ordered and in store within several days and that if I needed any alterations, she would do them for free. Checked out shops in downtown for my mom's dress. Alot of selections, but the couple were not as friendly in the beginning, but once they saw we had some sort of interest in their dresses they immediately began to be a bit friendly. Very compact store. It has tons of dresses; short, high low and even long ones. They also have tuxedos and quite a number of accessories. The staff will be honest with you, such as telling you that an item is expensive, or if something else would look better on you. They give a deal where you get free shoes and/or an accessory. I visited this dress shop after going to Do's Formal first just to see if they had any other dresses I might like. The man was really nice and graciously greeted me at the door as I walked in. The lady was busy helping one other family check out so I patiently waited until she was done. I picked out a few dresses I liked and she was rather helpful. She's very loud and a bit abrasive but overall a pretty pleasant experience. I ended up getting a dress that I liked at Do's from here and it was $45 cheaper and alterations were free which is always nice to hear. Love my cocktail dress. I know what I like so I'm an easy customer. I liked that I told them what I liked & they helped me pull out similar styles. I tried one on, fit perfectly, & got a good deal. The short cocktail dress was beautiful, beaded, & good quality so I paid over $100. It was still a deal. This is now my secret gem when I need a formal or cocktail dress. And the sales lady, she's just eager to help, definitely a sales woman, but she is generally just honest. Appreciated her input, we got along fine. I parked at the Chinese Municipal Building down and across the street. Was there for 30-40 min, paid about 1.75. The place has no frills and is small, but if you just want to find a dress quick & more affordable than a department type store this is where you should go.
