    Tempe Art Fair
    Dolores Z.

Tempe Art Fair, tons of vendors with high quality wares. There was fine art, art prints, various crafts, jewelry, clothing, candles, and much, much more. Prices ranged from moderate to high. There was musical entertainment as well as other acts, like jugglers and a section with activities for the kiddos. Food trucks provided snacks and meals, and many appealing restaurants with a variety of cuisines and bars are in the area. Flat rate parking in a nearby lot at a reasonable rate ($10.) This is a fun event, highly recommended!

I think that the most appealing aspect of Downtown Tempe is the fact that the Valley Metro Light Rail stops there; talk about convenient for us Easy Valley residents. One can find some interesting little shops, some decent food, bars, and other hidden gems here. Also, the City schedules other great things like farmers markets, art festivals, concerts, Octoberfest, etc. Obviously the whole ASU thing is here so that can be both a positive and negative depending on how you look at things.

This is a long overdue review for this amazing hotel…read more I've visited Tempe to attend the Innings Festival three times now. Each time staying at a different Marriott property: Aloft the first time, Westin the second time, and at this Residence Inn during my last visit. And I have to stay, this was probably my best stay. Location wise, this property is a couple of blocks away from the Westin. But still within walking distance to the Innings festival site. The nightly rate to stay at this property was also much lower in comparison to Westin and/or Aloft (at the time of booking). And being a Residence Inn, obviously breakfast is included in the rate. Anyway, the check in process during my stay was quick, and the staff was super friendly and hospitable. Actually, all the staff encounters I'd had during my stay were super pleasant. From offering me a bottle of water when I had purchased a pack of ibuprofen to just a simple hello and a smile as we're walking by the front desk. I don't think I've ever stayed at any Marriott property where the staff is just overall pleasant! During check in, I found out that my room had been upgraded. I had originally booked a room with two queen beds but got upgraded to a two bedrooms suite with a personal bathroom in each bedroom. The hotel room also had a little common area and a kitchenette. Awesome! The noise level at this hotel was pretty much on par with every other hotel I'd stayed in so I'm not complaining about that. I thought my bed was comfortable and I always had a good night sleep during my stay here. Breakfast foods are pretty much what you'd get at any other Residence Inn. You get your eggs, sausages, potatoes, juices, waffles, etc. And although the hotel was sold out during my stay (or so I was told), the line for breakfast never got too long. And although I didn't drive here, there's a parking garage (I think public parking garage) attached to the hotel and I believe it was only around $15/night to park there. So they weren't charging insane parking fees that hotels located in downtown anywhere typically charge. Would I stay here again in the future? Hells to the yes!

I noticed charges that didn't seem accurate and tried to get clarification, but getting clear answers or basic documentation was surprisingly difficult. Instead of transparency, I was met with vague explanations and inconsistent information. The lack of communication and accountability turned what should have been a smooth long-term stay into a frustrating and time-consuming situation. The property itself is fine, but based on my experience, I'd strongly recommend reviewing your charges closely and getting everything in writing!

Because it was 3AM Janelle stated that she couldn't do anything and we would have to wait for Mr. Carlos Zavala to call. He never called so I reached out to. Mr. Zavala and he claimed that he had someone come out and checked the room and couldn't find anything. He also started to insinuate that the rooms headboard doesn't match their records when clearly we checked in to room 308 and had photos of our experience. Do not stay here unless you plan on bringing bed bugs home!! They have no accountability and would rather deny the outbreak rather improve their customer service and room cleanliness. Not worth it.

Ronny, at the front desk, and the other staff are very friendly, professional, and polished. Good, hot water pressure in the shower. The gym is pretty good- water was always stocked, equipment worked, plenty of towels. They have a couple of bikes, free weights, a rower, and other cardio machines. Cons: Proximity to the airport leads to a lot of noise, making it difficult to sleep. They did provide earplugs which didn't help very much. No room service. Responses to messages on the Marriott app are slow. No makeup mirror in the bathroom. Room was uninspiring. There was one small drawer and no other place to unpack. The shower was of dubious cleanliness. Coffee machine in the room was sub-par (W has nespresso for example). Limited toiletry extras. Housekeeping doesn't go the extra mile (for example arranging toiletries for you, restocking lotion, etc).

The amenities, whether it be the flat screen, the coffee maker, or even eat plugson the night stand. Look, we didn't need the ear plugs, but they were there. The pool on the roof was cool, and next time we are in Tempe, we will definitely use it. I also found the location to be excellent. We were within the shadows of the ASU grounds. There were plenty of locales to check out within walking distance, but the Canopy had everything you might have been looking for. And for an overnight, not too shabby - resting was easy. The on the spot parking is valet for $45, and the self parking is only $6 less a block over. I recommend.

The hotel opened in 2021 and it's conveniently located just off of S. Mill Ave, the main drag in downtown Tempe. The property has been well-maintained. Check-in was smooth and easy - our resort fee included a daily credit to use toward drinks at the restaurant, rooftop pool, or cafe. Our guest room had a view of "A" mountain, which was really cool! Despite the hotel and area being BUSY for Ironman and an ASU football game, our room was quiet and we happily collapsed into our comfortable bed each evening. The hotel restaurant was just ok for dinner - there are better options just a short walk away. We ordered breakfast room service once - eggs and pancakes - and that was solid. We did appreciate the coffee shop / market in the lobby, making it easy to get a morning coffee without leaving the hotel. And the well-equipped fitness center. There's also a small rooftop pool and bar - worth visiting for the views. We'll definitely stay at Westin Tempe again when we're in the area.

Both bars are fully stocked to cater to any taste. The bartender was great very conversational very informative. I also enjoyed the accommodation that I had of my room. It was very spacious. It was very clean and it had all of the complementary items from dry bar that I personally did not use but glad that they were available. The only thing that I can say that I was not a huge fan of was having to pay $10 for parking. Another thing that I did not like the taco bar was not as tasteful as recommended. I strongly suggest other alternatives surrounding the hotel. The tacos appeared very appealing however to taste they were very bland, not to mention lack of seasoning, cold and cost $5.5 for one and $15 for three.

It's a lobby bar/game room and the bartender also serves as the person who checks you in. Rooms are bare minimum: thin mattress, no comforter just a blanket. No rugs or couch or any furniture and the walls were thin, making it hard to enjoy a quiet stay. The blackout curtains worked well. There was a huge beanbag chair which was fun. I didn't mind the lack of a closet. I thought the concept of hangers on the wall itself was funky, functional, and a better use of space in most cases. The "ironing room" -- a supposed area stocked with towels, toiletries, and other amenities. Unfortunately, it was completely understocked, for basic supplies like towels. It's clear there's a lack of attention to detail when it comes to maintaining the hotel's resources. There was a hotel restaurant but free breakfast is limited (parfait, fruit, muffin) not like other hotels in Marriott Bonvoy hotel chain offer. And overall this hotel is in a great location. Close to downtown Tempe as well as quick freeway access. Location is the only redeeming quality. The location is ideal, with a CVS right next door for any quick needs, and it's incredibly easy to catch an Uber, Lyft, or even a Waymo to explore different areas around the city.

The fourth floor looks terrible -- there are empty, broken-down rooms and the hallways feel neglected. The carpet on both the fourth floor and first floor is in very bad shape and looks like it hasn't been maintained in a long time. Inside the rooms, the flooring is actually popping up in areas, which makes the whole place feel worn out and poorly maintained. Overall, the hotel just looks very old and neglected now. The elevators are another concern. They make loud noises and honestly sound like they could break at any moment. There is also an unpleasant smell in parts of the building. When you get off the elevator and walk toward the lobby, you can see construction going on, which only adds to the messy and rundown feeling of the property. This place used to be a great stay when we first came here, but now it's honestly pretty shameful to see how much it has deteriorated. The location and concept are great, but the hotel clearly needs serious maintenance and attention.
