The concept is very nice. You basically get a furnished studio apartment with a sleeper sofa that can sleep 4 total. There is a small supplied kitchen and refrigerator plus cooktop stove and small refrigerator freezer. You easily could live there for months. It has a high top dining and working counter. It has a large screen tv that swivels for watching from bed or living room. It has a clothing closet. It has two low dressers four drawers total. And a nightstand. TV stand has some small shelves. By door you find a shoe and pantry nook for small food storage. Also has a dishwasher. Pros: Can cook and eat there. Rooftop pool with bar. Great location by arena and football stadium. Walkable to restaurants, Trader Joe's, ASU Tempe campus, light rail and buses and transportation center all right there. Town Lake and office complex a few blocks away. Free breakfast every day that's pretty good and varies a little each day with free coffee and other morning drinks. Has a workout room with a great view. Very friendly and helpful staff, went out of their way twice to fetch sweetener and ice. Small convenience store next to front desk. Reasonable daily parking fee that includes unlimited in and out privileges Cons: On a five night stay, housekeeping only checked on us 2 days. Needs small repairs here and there. Example: 2 or 3 drawers had loose pulls that needed screw tightening, saw a weather strip partially detached from door frame. Small workout area had limited equipment. One treadmill was broken one day and I had to wait an hour for the treadmill hog on the only working treadmill to get off despite posted 45 minutes max use rule. Other equipment like weights a bit limited. They allow pets and one day we had to deal with a barking dog somewhere morning and night. We complained twice and the hotel staff could only say they tried and that people are not supposed to leave their pets unattended. First time here with a Resort pass. Not a bad deal, $15 for a day pass. The front desk staff had incorrect info about food and when the bar actually opened, so that was about annoying. The bartender was nice. Pool is small and shaded seatings with umbrellas were away from the pool.. read more

First off, the checkin (on March 15) was straightforward, and the male check in staff member was less than enthusiastic. I wasn't expecting much based on my first impression. The room had a view of the train and mountains, which was good. The room itself was well-designed, newer looking, and clean. It was really nice. The hotel also has an awesome rooftop with a bar (open until 11:00pm), a small pool, heaters, and a fantastic view of ASU and surrounding mountains and buildings. There is also a lobby bar open from 5-10pm. The included breakfast was what one might expect and was comprehensive; eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, breads, and more. We thought it was good. Parking was $16 per day in the adjacent ASU parking lot. We experienced no issues. Regarding location, it is perfect; pretty much on ASU campus, near restaurants, and short drive to Diablo Stadium. Overall, it was 5 star experience; the rooftop bartender made up for the checkin guy. read more

I'll start with the positives. Good walking distance to campus, parking nearby, water in the lobby, and you need a keycard to access guest rooms. Now, staying here. If you like to sleep past 6:15, go somewhere else. The doors are HEAVY, and every time someone leaves their room, BAM. When they come in at night and you are almost asleep BAM. This morning, day 3 of this, I started counting the door slams at 6:45, because this is the one day we could have slept in until 8:30. I stopped counting at 39 around 7:30. (2 families nearby contributed.) This hotel is a sleeping nightmare. If you will be up and out before 6:00am, you will be fine and likely think the place is wonderful. read more

Great location: It''s located a stone's throw away from ASU campus, desert financial arena, restaurants, coffee shops, a Trader Joe's. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast, coffee/tea, a small snack shop, cafe, a rooftop gym, pool, and bar. The major con that's burned into my braind: My room was facing the METRO Light Rail, so unfortunately, all night and into the early morning all I heard was the train and its beeps, bells, dings, and other odd sounds... even with earplugs. Had I known this upon check-in, I would have requested a different room, even with an upcharge. They should inform hotel guests about this and give them that option if available. Or at least provide earplugs. As mentioned, I had my own, but what if I didn't? I was down to my last pair and had to dig through my bags for them in the middle of the night. Needless to say, I got terrible sleep during my two nights there. The room also doesn't offer any body lotion, cups, and even at the mini-fridge's coolest setting, it wasn't cool enough to keep my leftovers from spoiling. read more

Super surprised at the low ratings for this Hyatt right next to ASU! Maybe once upon a time it was really shoddy but for commencement being right next door, we had a great convenient stay here during our time in Tempe. The hotel is very clean with wide open seating in the first floor lounge, along with a lovely rooftop where we took some commencement photos. Room wise - we stayed in a double queen room and were quite comfortable. Rooms included an ironing set, empty mini fridge, and lots of plugs around the wall to charge your devices. Each person also had their own individual reading light which is an excellent touch. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was modern and clean. Only minor gripes with the room would be that the AC fan wasn't working well so it felt quite warm inside, and the shower drain is a metal bar which would make a lot of noise when water from the shower head hits it. Complimentary breakfast is served daily from 6:00 - 9:00 and it was awesome. My family enjoyed all the offerings while I was happy with oatmeal (and toppings such as bananas, granola, and coconut shavings) and the occasional potatoes that would be thrown in. Each day had fresh fruit as well. If they offered non-dairy milk and spread options, I think it would seal the deal. They also have a 24-hour fitness center upstairs that has a few cardio machines, a rower, dumbbells, kettlebells, and yoga mats. It was enough for me to do some WODs I'd normally do back home and the water dispenser was necessary given we're staying a desert. read more

The evening staff on our last night there entered our room without permission. We returned from dinner and they had deactivated our keys. So we went back downstairs and spoke with the male front desk staff. He claimed that he had 4 different people next to our room complaining about the dogs barking. I told him one did you attempt to co tact us, two, all the 8 rooms within our hallway is part of our group which we were all at the dinner function. He tried to tell me that he went upstairs and could hear the dogs . It once he mentioned that he entered our room, even though we had a DND sign. He went in and left opened our bathroom door which was the indicator someone entered our room without permission. He saw us when we returned and did not stop us to tell us anything. I contacted the front desk immediately and asked for a manager . I asked for a manager and let her know that someone had entered our room . She said a manager won't be available until Tuesday. I feel so violated and upset that this man tom it upon himself to enter our room and open our bathroom door which. We always kept the bathroom door shut so our dogs won't go in there. I will be sure to report this to corporate and definitely will speak with the general manager . I will post this horrible experience on all media platform. read more

I am currently lying in bed listening to the light rail go by every few minutes like it's parked outside my window. I paid extra for a "high floor" room on the 8th floor, but apparently that just means thin walls and premium noise. The elevators? I spent a couple nights here, and while everything looked nice, quite a few small things added up that made my stay less enjoyable. What I liked: Front desk staff is helpful and has great service. Breakfast is average for a hotel of this sort, but I still of course had a second helping of french toast sticks. My room was stylish and surprisingly had a full kitchen with pots, pans, and glassware (I didn't use it). I had some food on the rooftop bar and it was tasty. What I didn't like: The parking situation is simply loathsome. You have to use an ASU parking garage and scan yourself in with your room key. At check-in it was implied that guests get a special rate, but I learned quickly that was not the case. You are paying the same price as everyone else, and adding a layer of friction to the transaction for no good reason. Although the bar is pretty good, the amenities leave much to be desired.The rooftop pool is tiny and only has room for one small group, so good luck getting a chance to dip your toes in. And worst of all, the air conditioning is woefully weak. I know it's scorching here, but it shouldn't take nearly an hour to actually get things down to room temp. I could see this being a decent place if you were spending a week or so on business. You could go to the nearby Whole Foods and bring back items to cook, then take advantage of the 24/7 fitness center. I just wouldn't come back here in the summer. Shoddy AC, long walks to offsite parking, and a puddle for a pool really add up and might make it hard to relax. read more

The bed was extremely comfortable, the water is soft and has a strong pressure behind it, and the included breakfast was delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive as well. My team and I stayed here while working in the area for Super Bowl weekend. This hotel is located in a very nice part of the Phoenix metroplex, and is conveniently located on the ASU campus fringe. The common areas and rooms were all well-maintained and clean - I utilized the gym, rooftop bar, and main lobby bar/dining area. All were in tip-top condition. The breakfast buffet offered an excellent selection of items, and the rooftop bar offered a beautiful view of the area. Customer service was good, especially Kaitlyn, who was stuck working the bar during the Super Bowl by herself. She rocked it, though, and was super with me and my colleagues. We were quite the group, almost 30 in all. There are a lot of restaurants, stores, and bars all within walking distance, as well as lots of walking trails. Some of the trails follow a close by waterway, which offers a view that gives you a break from looking at rocks and sand. read more

Unfortunately, we were not able to sleep in. Three times between 930am and 1130am housekeeping knocked on the door. After the second time, I even checked the door to make sure the sign was still on the door knob. And it was. Very annoying and my only complaint about my stay and the reason for not giving more stars. Good location. Surrounded by many businesses and the college. Parking is in the garage, not far. Surprised by the low rating this place has, I had a lovely stay. From the moment I checked in the staff was inviting, friendly, and helpful. Parking garage right next to the hotel for only $15/night which is pretty low which was appreciated. Hotel was clean, had a bar on the rooftop and on the first floor. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable, and the gym was a little small but nice as well! My favorite part of the hotel is its location. Close to campus, Mill ave with tons of bars and restaurants, and the ASU mountain hike is right at the entrance of the hotel pretty much! Loved my stay and look forward to coming back! read more

Stayed 3 nights in January 2022. I don't understand why this place has such low reviews. Our room was clean and it's an excellent location if you have business at ASU. We had a regular room that had mini fridge and a microwave and coffee pot, not a full kitchen, which some more expensive rooms have. Parking in the garage is $15 per day but breakfast is included so I guess it evens out. We requested cleaning service because we have status so it's included, but nobody ever came to clean our room. Not the end of the world, but this is like a solid 3.5 star stay. read more

Cons: They put us in the room furthest from the elevator to reduce noise coming from other hotel patrons. However, I could still hear the construction outside the building. Really not their fault. They can't control that. $15 to park in the garage daily. The modern bathroom shower was aesthetically pleasing. But the drain was really noisy (metal clanging) at the end of every shower. Booked a room here for a work trip. Walking in, everything looks nicely decorated. I was greeted promptly when I arrived and was offered 2 free water bottles for being a Hyatt member. There is a bar/restaurant with pool side bites and free breakfast in the morning. I liked how you had to use your room key to utilize the elevator but did not like that there is no hotel parking. There's a parking garage next door which is $16 a night as of March 2024 but it is not attached to the hotel. My room was pretty much what I expected having stayed at Hyatt in the past. Despite the temperature outside, I preferred to keep my room warmer. Even having my thermostat at 75, I fell asleep and woke up with goosebumps. I was up and down every couple of hours trying to find a stable medium. This went on for 3 nights. I was convinced the central air was defective. The bathroom looked great! The barn door was super cute and I really like the build in drawers leading up to the bathroom. I think it looks so much better than a dresser. I loved the concept of the shower with the step for those who shave their legs. Sooo helpful. As hot as I like my showers, and clearly as I mentioned above, I like the heat - this water gets dangerously hot. Like 3rd degree burns hot. And has 0 water pressure. Last but not least - as cute as the little cubby by the door is, I really would have preferred a full length mirror. Overall, as visually appealing as the hotel is, there is definitely room for improvement on the maintenance side. read more

We picked this hotel for the proximity to the airport, the cost and the free breakfast :-) It exceeded expectations! Belle at the front desk was absolutely oozing friendliness! I felt completely welcomed after a long drive from Prescott. Parking costs $15 at the nearby garage (tacked on to your room bill), and the room key allows for easy in and out of the garage. The hotel itself seems brand new. It was spotlessly clean, bright and airy. Our room was spacious, with a small, separate seating area in addition to the very comfortable king sized bed. You can stream Netflix or Prime from your phone to their flat screen TV. The room also came with a mini fridge and decent closet space. The bathroom was downright luxurious! I thoroughly enjoyed my shower! The rooftop pool is very, very small, but you do get a great view of the ASU stadium and basketball arena from the pool deck. Pool deck has a bar as well (did not partake). The lobby bar and cafe was limited and overpriced; we skipped that. The complimentary breakfast was pretty extensive, with a good variety of hot and cold items. The only ding is that the room was a tad on the noisy side. The hotel is literally on the ASU campus, and their on campus shuttle bus and train goes right by the hotel, seemingly all night. The AC was also very loud when it cycled on and off. I had ear plugs and it was still a bit disruptive. Finally, and this is really minor, the garage is not attached to the hotel, so there is a bit of a trek, which could be a hassle if you have a lot of luggage and / or are traveling solo and / or forget something in your car. All in all, for $165 including the parking, this was a great find! 10 minutes to the airport made our day of departure a breeze! read more

Stayed here for less than 12 hours and wish I could have stayed longer. This is a Hyatt Place/ House. It looks pretty new. No issues during the stay. We got a House and it was a great size. Room was clean. I wish we stayed long enough for the breakfast. You can also checkout via the app. Parking is an additional charge. FYI, late night (around 3am) it looks like the front counter staff become college students, so they aren't dressed like Hyatt staff normally are. I didn't interact with them, so I couldn't tell you if they are just as professional. Otherwise, it's nice that Hyatt is giving college students opportunity. I tried to get an early check in and they said it wasn't available for me because I booked on Hotels.com When I was trying to check in at 3pm there were 4 lady's and a gentleman checking customers in. The gal I chose said she couldn't help me because she was not checked in on her computer and told me to get in line. As soon as one was available instead of pulling people from said line she yelled next and another lady cut in front of me. I told them they were very unorganized. *Pool one star the rooms are larger than their pool for gods sake and it's in the desert! *Gym one star it'll do for a night or too but don't get your hopes up too high. Not impressed. Our room was dirty and the pool is not what is shown online. Very small and underwhelming. We got in our room and there was hair in the sink and shower. I asked for service to come and clean and we would leave and go to the pool. The front desk said sure we will send someone up. An hour and half later we come back and the room has not been cleaned. I get it. I work in the hospitality industry as well! I get being under staffed, but come on, I'm paying over $300 to be here the rooms should be clean. Especially in this era of covid. 2 hours after check in this room should have been clean.. The staff said they're sorry, but that's basically it. They comped parking (which is $15 a night) another added fee they don't tell you until you check in. I really hate leaving bad reviews. I'm a huge believer in the energy you put out is what you get back in return. I don't like putting outegative energy. I understand the struggle for hospitality during this pandemic. Nice place to stay with comfortable rooms and a nice bar inside as well as one on the top floor. My biggest complaint, they have you park in the ASU parking garage. The day we left, I went to get our car, and my room key didn't work. Seems the couple who made both room reservations had already checked out, and the hotel closed both rooms, so my key didn't work. After 5 trips to the front desk and one very pissed off guest, I was finally able to get the nice lady at ASU services to let me out. So if you stay here and park in the garage, do NOT check out before rescuing your vehicle, or you will have one hell of a hassle. read more

Plus: + This hotel is at a really great location. It's close to the Phoenix airport-ish, and located on the ASU - Tempe campus. The room I had featured a King bed, large TV, blackout curtains (much needed!), full length mirror, hair dryer, fridge, safe, a standing shower with a sink + enough counter space which was sufficient. + The gym was decent and had a lot of natural light which was an upgrade from basement gyms of other hotels. + I love that this place had breakfast! The other Hyatt (the resort one) in town does not serve breakfast as a part of your room cost. Having breakfast saves time getting out the door in the morning as you don't need to look for a breakfast spot in a new city. My favourite was when they did the French Toast. Much better than the days they did the potato hash. Also, they should add a waffle maker! It's a classic. + There is TONS of parking in the garage next to the hotel and it feels safe. It's quite convenient. Their validation system was down though, so it was a lot of manual back and forth, something to fix. Minus: - There is a pool located on the roof, but it was pretty small. The rooftop bar had very odd hours which I guess was due to COVID/demand of when people would be up there. It would have been nice to be open more often. - Housekeeping situation due to COVID was pretty much non-existent. You had to opt-in to request housekeeping with a 24 hour heads-up. This was fine. Unfortunately, requesting housekeeping by chatting with the staff in the lobby did not properly get communicated to the actual housekeeping staff on 2/4 days there. So some process improvements needed here. Everyone was nice about it though. read more

I would recommend this staying at this hotel if you live out-of-state and plan to visit Arizona State University. I especially say so it if you are going to any on-campus sporting events, including the Arizona Coyotes. Mullett Arena is just yards away. They had a helpful staff, clean rooms and good accommodations for the daily rate. Only thing I would prefer is not having to pay each night you stay for parking that adds to the overall cost. I did not use the pool or gym and did not visit the street level bar, so I cannot give you my review of those amenities. We stayed here two weeks ago while doing college visits with our son. The location can not be beat if visiting ASU is in your travel plans. It is literally in the middle of campus, right down the street from Hayden Butte and the football stadium and just a couple of blocks from the visitors center if you are doing the campus tour. How neat is that!? No free parking, but you can prepay for parking in the garage next door when you check in. This is a great benefit as it gives you in/out privileges for the length of your stay. We stayed in a one bedroom and were really impressed with the kitchen, the cozy corner sitting area, and the size and cleanliness of the room. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment for cooking and dining. It lacked a cookie sheet, but I am willing to bet I could have asked the front desk if they had one or grabbed a throwaway at Target. They're doing a great job maintaining the property. By the way, this seems like it's a relatively new hotel, which is a bonus. The rooftop pool is small, but it was large enough to provide a nice area to relax in the afternoons after tours. We did not try the bar (though I wish I had! They have one near the breakfast area and another on the rooftop.) I did not notice anyone doing drugs as was reported in another review. In fact, it was actually pretty quiet the week we stayed. Breakfast, given we are still under COVID protocols, was amazing! A great mix of hot food and ready to eat options. Coffee was hot and fresh every morning! They also have you check in at breakfast to confirm you are staying at the hotel, which I appreciated. Trader Joe's is across the street within walking distance if you need to pick up groceries for your stay, and there are a number of restaurants within walking distance. If you don't mind the heat, you could probably walk to Mill Ave. from here. We drove. We're wimps. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Made recommendations for restaurants for us to try and were eager to chat with our son once they heard we were there visiting ASU. Left a positive impression on all of us! Way to go, Hyatt! TL;DR - It's on the campus of ASU; if you want to sleep, and not be kept up all night by the party crowd DO NOT STAY HERE! If you want a hotel that doesn't care how loud, obnoxious and disruptive you are, this is your place. I stayed here while traveling from Texas to California with my wife and our two teenagers. My first impression of this hotel was positive. It is new and the lobby is well appointed. The person at the front desk (a nice looking, heavily tattooed young lady) was friendly. However, she informed me that parking on site would be an additional $15 per night which was not disclosed at booking. Upon checking into our room, we found it to be modern and clean. When we arrived, I noted that the hotel is located in the heart of a college campus and the clientele was largely young (college age) but did not consider what that might mean later in the evening. Throughout the night, but especially after around 2:00 AM, there were continual disturbances from noisy guests. Loud stomping, yelling, banging on doors. At one point, a female voice was repeatedly yelling, "let me in! Michael, let me in! Let me in Michael," while pounding on the door and crying. My wife called the front desk to notify them, but nothing changed. I don't believe hotel staff took any measures to end the disturbance. Later, from about 3:30 to 6:00, a dog in an adjacent room began barking nonstop. Loud groups of young people continued to come and go through our floor the rest of the night/morning. Sleeping was practically impossible. Upon checkout, I notified the front desk of our evening experience - I dealt with the same employee that checked me in - and the response was essentially *shrug*. She said, "yeah that happens a lot since we're on a college campus. I'm actually surprised when I don't get these kinds of complaints." No apology or anything, just pretty much - it's on a college campus, if you wanted a good night's sleep, you should've stayed somewhere else. 1/10, do not recommend read more

But consider the cost was under $100, on-site bar & restaurant, clean hotel room, comfy beds, free breakfast, rooftop pool, etc. Yeah parking isn't free & people b;+ching about it should read the fine print. But it was ample parking in a structure. The only problems we had were the guests doing drugs at the pool. Overall, a good spot near the ASU campus. read more

Terrible customer service! Booked a room on Rock n Roll Marathon Weekend, arrived and had wrong room, was told they wouldn't change room until I was walking out the door to go somewhere else. They then gave us a downgraded room and double charged us at higher rate!!! I been calling them back numerous times trying to get my money back for 3 months and didn't receive anything until I said I was taking it up with corporate. They were talking crap about their customers within earshot of other customers. Something to the extent of saying that the customer was rude and was asking a question they didn't want to help with. I overheard that the customer asked "Can you explain why I have to pay $100?" And they sarcastically said "No. Can you explain why you're so rude?" I get customer service sucks but at least have enough brain cells to figure out, "Hey, maybe I should talk trash about customers in front of other customers." The system was down so they couldn't validate parking automatically and instead did it manually. They didn't explain that the parking needed to be validated prior to leaving the parking structure. When I brought this issue up with them they tried to say they told me saying "I know personally I tell everyone." I know personally I wasn't told. This coupled with the fact they were too incompetent to figure out how to refund the cost of parking afterwards is just the icing on top. I'm not sure if this is a recent problem for the hotel, but my air conditioning unit was consistently making this loud jack-hammer like noise every time it came on!! They claimed it was fixed but within 12 hours it was making the noise again. I was pretty much gaslit into thinking that AC units just "make that noise" and it was normal. I was eventually able to switch rooms but wow. I spend x amount of money to be here TO SLEEP but that's the last thing I got. I could also hear the same noise coming from several other rooms, so I would not consider this an individual case. Not to mention the paper thin walls. You'll hear every noise in the hall... if you want to sleep, pick a different hotel and save yourself the hassle!!!!!! read more
