First time here with a Resort pass. Not a bad deal, $15 for a day pass. The front desk staff had incorrect info about food and when the bar actually opened, so that was about annoying. The bartender was nice. Pool is small and shaded seatings with umbrellas were away from the pool..

Super surprised at the low ratings for this Hyatt right next to ASU! Maybe once upon a time it was really shoddy but for commencement being right next door, we had a great convenient stay here during our time in Tempe. The hotel is very clean with wide open seating in the first floor lounge, along with a lovely rooftop where we took some commencement photos. Room wise - we stayed in a double queen room and were quite comfortable. Rooms included an ironing set, empty mini fridge, and lots of plugs around the wall to charge your devices. Each person also had their own individual reading light which is an excellent touch. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was modern and clean. Only minor gripes with the room would be that the AC fan wasn't working well so it felt quite warm inside, and the shower drain is a metal bar which would make a lot of noise when water from the shower head hits it. Complimentary breakfast is served daily from 6:00 - 9:00 and it was awesome. My family enjoyed all the offerings while I was happy with oatmeal (and toppings such as bananas, granola, and coconut shavings) and the occasional potatoes that would be thrown in. Each day had fresh fruit as well. If they offered non-dairy milk and spread options, I think it would seal the deal. They also have a 24-hour fitness center upstairs that has a few cardio machines, a rower, dumbbells, kettlebells, and yoga mats. It was enough for me to do some WODs I'd normally do back home and the water dispenser was necessary given we're staying a desert.

    Sunset from the rooftop bar.

Modern lovely hotel in the heart of the ASU campus with really nice rooms and beautiful views. The bed was extremely comfortable, the water is soft and has a strong pressure behind it, and the included breakfast was delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive as well. My only complaint is the AC. It would only go down to a set point of 68, and never actually made It below 70, even at night. Big negative.

My team and I stayed here while working in the area for Super Bowl weekend. This hotel is located in a very nice part of the Phoenix metroplex, and is conveniently located on the ASU campus fringe. The common areas and rooms were all well-maintained and clean - I utilized the gym, rooftop bar, and main lobby bar/dining area. All were in tip-top condition. The breakfast buffet offered an excellent selection of items, and the rooftop bar offered a beautiful view of the area. Customer service was good, especially Kaitlyn, who was stuck working the bar during the Super Bowl by herself. She rocked it, though, and was super with me and my colleagues. We were quite the group, almost 30 in all. There are a lot of restaurants, stores, and bars all within walking distance, as well as lots of walking trails. Some of the trails follow a close by waterway, which offers a view that gives you a break from looking at rocks and sand.

This is a long overdue review for this amazing hotel…read more I've visited Tempe to attend the Innings Festival three times now. Each time staying at a different Marriott property: Aloft the first time, Westin the second time, and at this Residence Inn during my last visit. And I have to stay, this was probably my best stay. Location wise, this property is a couple of blocks away from the Westin. But still within walking distance to the Innings festival site. The nightly rate to stay at this property was also much lower in comparison to Westin and/or Aloft (at the time of booking). And being a Residence Inn, obviously breakfast is included in the rate. Anyway, the check in process during my stay was quick, and the staff was super friendly and hospitable. Actually, all the staff encounters I'd had during my stay were super pleasant. From offering me a bottle of water when I had purchased a pack of ibuprofen to just a simple hello and a smile as we're walking by the front desk. I don't think I've ever stayed at any Marriott property where the staff is just overall pleasant! During check in, I found out that my room had been upgraded. I had originally booked a room with two queen beds but got upgraded to a two bedrooms suite with a personal bathroom in each bedroom. The hotel room also had a little common area and a kitchenette. Awesome! The noise level at this hotel was pretty much on par with every other hotel I'd stayed in so I'm not complaining about that. I thought my bed was comfortable and I always had a good night sleep during my stay here. Breakfast foods are pretty much what you'd get at any other Residence Inn. You get your eggs, sausages, potatoes, juices, waffles, etc. And although the hotel was sold out during my stay (or so I was told), the line for breakfast never got too long. And although I didn't drive here, there's a parking garage (I think public parking garage) attached to the hotel and I believe it was only around $15/night to park there. So they weren't charging insane parking fees that hotels located in downtown anywhere typically charge. Would I stay here again in the future? Hells to the yes!

Cons: Proximity to the airport leads to a lot of noise, making it difficult to sleep. They did provide earplugs which didn't help very much. No room service. Responses to messages on the Marriott app are slow. No makeup mirror in the bathroom. Room was uninspiring. There was one small drawer and no other place to unpack. The shower was of dubious cleanliness. Coffee machine in the room was sub-par (W has nespresso for example). Limited toiletry extras. Housekeeping doesn't go the extra mile (for example arranging toiletries for you, restocking lotion, etc).

That said, this isn't a hotel I would choose again. The road noise outside is surprisingly loud. You can hear virtually every passing car, and I honestly can't remember ever making that complaint about another hotel. On Saturday night, the DJ on the 14th-floor rooftop had the bass turned up so high that our room on the 8th floor was literally thumping. I called to ask whether the music could be turned down and was told it could not, and that it would continue quite late into the evening. I then asked whether the hotel had a couple of fans we could borrow to help mask the noise. Unfortunately, they didn't though they did offer earplugs, which I appreciated. To their credit, the front desk was empathetic and relocated us to another room, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall noise issues were still enough that I wouldn't choose to stay here again. If you're planning to enjoy the rooftop nightlife, this may be a great fit. If you're looking for a quiet night's sleep, I'd look elsewhere.

I first want to acknowledge the parking since I know the valet cost is a an issue. I did self parking at the Brickyard Parking Garage for $16 for 24 hours which was a 3 minute walk across a side street and down a short flight of stairs. I found it super convenient and would recommend it to anyone looking to skip valet. The lobby was nice, very clean and open with high ceilings and a comfortable sitting area. Austin got me checked in quickly and hooked up with their welcome package that included two free margaritas at the rooftop bar Skysill, two free cups of coffee or tea at their coffee shop and two free smoothies from Terra their restaurant on the 1st floor. I stayed in one of their Executive Suites With Mountain View and when I say the room took my breath away, I actually gasped!! It was more than I could hope for with beautiful views overlooking Tempe and Phoenix in both the living room and bedroom, a big comfy bed, a nice sized table to get work done at and a beautiful bathroom complete with a spacious shower and luxurious soaking tub! The room also came with bathrobes, complementary water bottles in the mini fridge, wine glasses and a corkscrew. I really loved being able to relax knowing everything was thought out! The rooftop bar and pool was beautiful, again with breathtaking views. The welcome margarita was good and strong but the Hibiscus Paloma was a show stopper! I also really enjoyed the rooftop patio the next morning when I took my laptop up to enjoy the sunrise over the city while getting my work day started. My morning was a breeze, enjoying beautiful views, my complimentary tea and smoothie but the standout of my stay was Aneesa at concierge. I had a last minute schedule change for a meeting that left me stressed for time to checkout and make my meeting but Aneesa saved the day when, without hesitation, she moved my checkout time back so I could complete my Teams call in the privacy of my room and not feel rushed to leave. I only ended up needing 30 extra minutes but I can't thank her enough for giving me that extra hour! It's people like her who keep me coming back somewhere and I'm happy to say I've already recommended this hotel to a few friends and work colleagues. A couple places I feel the hotel may have room for improvement on is stocking additional amenities for the bath like epsom salts or bubble bath and the windows of my room could have been cleaner but those little things really didn't bother me much at all. Honestly, I just walked across the street to the 24hr CVS and bought some bubble bath after my drinks and enjoyed a nice relaxing soak, it was perfect! We had the opportunity to attend Sunset & Sparks at Vīb Hotel Tempe, where guests enjoyed an evening filled with rooftop views, a buffet dinner, complimentary cocktails, lawn games, live music, a photo booth, and of course, fireworks to end the night. As much as we love our usual Independence Day traditions, this was a refreshing change of pace. Instead of rushing around, we were able to slow down, take in an incredible Arizona sunset, enjoy some good food, listen to live music, and simply spend quality time together. Inside the rooms, the flooring is actually popping up in areas, which makes the whole place feel worn out and poorly maintained. Overall, the hotel just looks very old and neglected now. The elevators are another concern. They make loud noises and honestly sound like they could break at any moment. There is also an unpleasant smell in parts of the building. When you get off the elevator and walk toward the lobby, you can see construction going on, which only adds to the messy and rundown feeling of the property. This place used to be a great stay when we first came here, but now it's honestly pretty shameful to see how much it has deteriorated. The location and concept are great, but the hotel clearly needs serious maintenance and attention.

We were staying one night in Phoenix before our flight and decided to book through our Hilton Honors account at a DoubleTree. The location we originally wanted was full, so we chose the Tempe property instead. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. The woman at the front desk was very standoffish. When we asked about room rates, she quoted a much higher price than our Hilton Honors rate, so we decided to book online while standing in the lobby. When we went back to check in, she told us we had to wait. I also asked for one of the famous cookies, and she said they "weren't ready." She offered no welcome, no information about the hotel, and didn't ask any questions. If you're the face of a hotel, a warm and friendly attitude makes all the difference. Once we got to our room, things didn't improve. The property itself feels very old and outdated. The carpet was torn right at the entrance with sharp pieces sticking out, the AC was loud and squeaky, the headboard wasn't attached to the wall, and we heard a strange tapping sound all night long. We decided to give the property another chance by trying the on-site restaurant, Milagros. Unfortunately, both meals, the ribeye and fajitas the ribeye was raw (and made my husband sick later) and the steak on the fajitas were super tough and both were disappointing. The steaks were poorly cooked and lacked flavor. The one bright spot of the evening was Pedro, who apologized sincerely and provided 50% off my fajitas. His customer service was excellent and truly appreciated. Overall, this hotel does not reflect the quality or hospitality I've come to associate with DoubleTree. It's old, outdated, and lacks the warmth and care that usually make this brand so dependable. I truly hope management takes steps to refresh both the property and the guest experience.

Due to a flight delay, my husband and I ended up having a last-minute stay at this hotel--and it…read moreturned out to be a pleasant experience overall. The first impression was warm and inviting: the decor has a cozy, Native American-inspired vibe, complete with a little fire pit area that added to the charm. At check-in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly front desk staff, who made the check-in process smooth and of course offered us the Signature Doubletree cookie. The hotel's layout blends indoor and outdoor spaces, so after checking in, we had to walk outside to reach our room. While the room felt a bit dim, outdated, and slightly worn, it was decently clean and worked just fine for a short overnight stay. One of the biggest perks of this hotel is its proximity to the airport--super convenient for layovers or early flights. They also offer a shuttle service, and the drivers were cheerful and friendly, which made the travel experience very enjoyable. If you're looking for a quick and comfortable stop near the airport with friendly staff and a unique ambiance, this hotel is a solid choice.
