Fourth of July: Sunset & Sparks at Vīb Hotel Tempe We're a little late getting this one posted, but this rooftop celebration was definitely worth sharing. We had the opportunity to attend Sunset & Sparks at Vīb Hotel Tempe, where guests enjoyed an evening filled with rooftop views, a buffet dinner, complimentary cocktails, lawn games, live music, a photo booth, and of course, fireworks to end the night. As much as we love our usual Independence Day traditions, this was a refreshing change of pace. Instead of rushing around, we were able to slow down, take in an incredible Arizona sunset, enjoy some good food, listen to live music, and simply spend quality time together. The buffet featured grilled chicken, burgers with all the fixings, creamy potato salad, coleslaw, fresh toppings, patriotic desserts, and plenty of drinks to keep everyone cool throughout the evening. Sometimes it's not about doing the biggest celebration--it's about finding the right atmosphere to relax and enjoy the holiday. This rooftop event delivered exactly that. Thank you to Vīb Hotel Tempe for inviting us out to experience Sunset & Sparks. We had the opportunity to stay at Vib Hotel this past week for a two night stay. Upon arrival the front desk clerk was friendly and even gave us complimentary parking. Don't mind if we do! The first thing I noticed about our room was the layout. Typical hotel rooms have the headboards of the bed against the wall. Our room was totally different. There was a long desk which was the headboard of the bed and the foot of the bed faced the window. As a result, there was very little space between one side of the bed and the wall. It wasn't a big deal but worth noting. Our room was clean and quiet which was appreciated. I also really liked the fragrance of the body wash and lotion. It was definitely a little detail that I noticed. All in all our stay was comfortable and relaxing. If we are back in the area we would probably stay at the Vib Hotel again. read more

Genuinely enjoyed my last-minute booking of this hotel. It absolutely gave everything that it was supposed to give and left nothing behind. The check-in was easy. We were graciously greeted by the front desk attendant was very informative about the area. This hotel is close to everything that we needed from bars, restaurants attractions. This location even has two bars inside of the hotel one on the first floor in the lobby along with a taco restaurant on the sixth floor of the hotel is a rooftop bar. Both bars are fully stocked to cater to any taste. The bartender was great very conversational very informative. I also enjoyed the accommodation that I had of my room. It was very spacious. It was very clean and it had all of the complementary items from dry bar that I personally did not use but glad that they were available. The only thing that I can say that I was not a huge fan of was having to pay $10 for parking. Another thing that I did not like the taco bar was not as tasteful as recommended. I strongly suggest other alternatives surrounding the hotel. The tacos appeared very appealing however to taste they were very bland, not to mention lack of seasoning, cold and cost $5.5 for one and $15 for three. read more

This hotel was so cute and clean the staff were friendly the decor was dope! The front desk guy Forest was so sweet and explained every thing thoroughly. The pool was super nice. Also very clean! They have a little taco joint inside to get food if you're hungry it's open until 10pm but it's a little pricey! The rooftop restaurant was closed obviously no one wants to sit up there and cook during the summer months.. so unfortunately I didn't get to experience that. The gym is perfect for a work out just enough space without being huge. The only things I wish it had were a hot tub and breakfast would've been great but I'll definitely be back :) read more

It's relatively new. Maybe 3 years? The property is nice. Ground level bar and seating is comfortable and welcoming. Check-in was fast. Mobile checkout is a given. There's a Taco Supply takeout that has really tasty tacos. Seriously. Might take a while because only one person is on staff, but if it's Ryan?, he hustles, and it's worth the wait. The bar prices are reasonable, if they don't exactly make great drinks. The rooms are very small, but well-appointed. Typical Best Western, one side of the king bed didn't have working receptacles. And the showers are freezing if you don't keep the bath door open. Good food within walking distance. I'd stay there again. read more

Not horrible, but if you're on the 5th floor on the weekend, expect that you'll be disturbed for hours by the music at the rooftop bar. It's loud, and quite literally shakes the room. if you have little ones that need to go to sleep at a decent time, either make sure there aren't any events going on, and/or request a lower floor. read more

Rooftop Bar was super cool, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. I only saw one issue with the rooftop (6th floor) bar the bathroom is on the 1st floor just off the main lobby area. I was there for a DJ set not staying at the hotel. I will definitely be back for future events. read more

If you are a BW Rewards Member you'll be disappointed. And if you're not a Rewards Member, you'll find you're up-charged for everything. Don't let the slick interior fool you; and most important don't be fooled by the seemingly low rate - there all all kinds of added charges once you get there. I regularly stay at BWs all over the West Coast and Southwest for business trips. This is the first BW where breakfast and parking wasn't automatically included. Instead BW Vib uses a tacky "pick-a-perk" system where you can choose one "perk" that's free, then you're charged extra for any other "perks" you happen to use. Unlike EVERY other BW I've ever stayed at: If you park in the lot, you have to pay for it; if you want coffee from the dining room, you have to pay for it; if you want breakfast, you have to pay for it; if you want a drink (even non-alcoholic) you have to pay for it. No where in the reservation process are you warned that what BW usually includes as part of your stay will are treated as extra charges at this location. EVERY other BW I've ever stayed at ALWAYS provides parking, coffee, and breakfast at no extra cost - it's all just part of your stay; and if you're a Rewards Member, they always give you two water bottles at check-in, and are happy to accommodate special requests - not so at BW Vib Tempe. AND all those extra charges don't go toward your rewards, only the base room rate does, so you actually end up with fewer points for your next trip. Finally, the front desk staff was rude, spaced out, and clueless; it was pretty clear management hadn't invested in any PR training. read more

We enjoyed our stay, but it might not be for everyone. It's very noisy, with a very long train going by several times a night, planes going over, and cars screeching around the corner. None of these were under the control of the hotel. Also, the very nice rooftop bar is open to the public so there were a lot of loud, drunk, scantily clad people in the lobby. It also has a very strong perfume smell, so if you're sensitive to smells, it might not be for you. But it's a great location for spring training or ASU activities. The staff was all very nice and accommodating. The Taco Supply take out restaurant was amazing and they also had a great Peet's coffee and a nice lobby bar. We would probably stay there again. read more

I went to see a show at Tempe Improv and found this hotel nearby (1.5 miles). It's very close to Mill which was nice to walk to. You would think being near everything the hotel would be packed and noisy - NOT AT ALL. That part was kind of weird. We stayed on a Saturday night and there was one couple at the bar. That's it. It was quiet. The rooftop bar was closed which was disappointing (probably makes this review more 4.5) but I figured it was closed due to the lack of guests. Which is really surprising given the hotel's location and the hotel itself is clean, modern, and has really nice features. I would recommend this hotel if you're staying in Tempe. read more

I don't typically do this but I feel it needs to be said. The bartender up on the roof top on 3/12/25 named Jay.... I ordered a Tito's sprite with a lime. Got handed a Tito's soda with lime juice. At first I didn't think anything of it as maybe they didn't have Sprite. Ordered a second and specified again Tito's sprite. Well he gave me Tequila the second time. Along with a homophobic comment (which you can have your views just don't share it to those that don't know you or you don't know) I immediately said you can close me out and went to the lobby bar where I was greeted very nicely by Matthew. Matthew immediately got my drink order and was very fast and friendly. Matthew is the only reason for a 5 star review as he saved this place and I hope that this company values him as an employee. read more

Although my room overlooked the rail system it was a nice stay. The bed was comfortable. Room decor was pleasant. Downside, there is a drink fridge not an actual mini fridge. Stayed here on two separate stays and it's close to mill street, Whole Foods, etc. The hotel does have a microwave, it's available for everyone to use downstairs. read more

The manager Ashley and her horrible employee Forest there in Tempe are both rude, have no customers service, disrespected both my daughters. It started when Forest called Ashley cause he didn't have a manager available to make decisions about the situation (they allowed to let my daughter use her points to reserve a room there thought). So during Forest and Ashleys conversation my daughters could hear Ashley talking shit about my daughters and Forest was laughing and saying little word out loud showing they where obviously talking shit. NOTE: They had reservations to stay there one of my daughters is employed by best western and when they came to the front desk where told because of them being 18 and 19 years old they where not aloud to stay at this facility. When no where in the employee hand book does it say that and why could they use there points in Vegas at the age. Then there is Forest repeatedly stating they had to be 21 but when my daughter contacted her manager, Ashley decided to be condescending and say only this one time and for them to never come back or until they are of age.. In my opinion I would never spend my time or money ever on a place that can't treat any aged person with respect and with good customer service. You might wanna get this shit show in their place. read more

I liked this hotel. It was pretty new and clean. It was also near ASU and Mill Ave. It was an approximate $15 Uber ride to the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Plenty of good restaurants were within walking distance. I had very good front desk service and was able to check in a little earlier than 4pm. Caution: Try not to get a room on the 5th floor as the rooftop bar (very cute) has music which is very loud and the DJ is "on" until 11pm (I think every night). I heard someone recommend the "best tacos ever" from their lobby restaurant! read more

I stay here when I visit my ASU student. They have been extremely accommodating, especially the first time when we were nervous about moving our daughter to college. The maintenance team was exceptional, the GM was present and helpful and the lattes were VERY helpful. I also appreciated the car charger which is free to hotel guests. There was only one negative. A voracious boundary enforcer without much heart at front desk who refused to honor my daughter's reservation, which I paid for when my 18 year old was very ill. All she needed was to check in for a few hours so she was safe until I got there. Unfortunately, it only takes one lady with a lack of compassion to sour a good "VIB." I was annoyed after using every service the hotel has to offer, making friends there, and spending A LOT of money over my week long stay two weeks prior. I've decided to try again because the location is perfect. read more

This hotel was recommended by a friend who visits ASU frequently. While the facility itself was nice, there is a light rail station about 30 yards from the east side of the hotel, and when the trains stop there, they're very noisy. One stopped and idled for about 5 minutes at 3:00AM, waking us up. If you stay at this hotel, insist on a room on the west side (odd room numbers), otherwise I wouldn't stay here. In addition, in the room we had the king bed was so close to the wall that there were only about 8" between the bed and the wall. So getting out of bed requires you to crab walk sideways to the end of the bed. read more

This hotel is a must! Everything is a 10/10. The location is perfect it is about a 5 minute walk to Mill Ave and has many restaurants and stores around. We stayed here twice and both times have been great. You definitely cannot hear the train from the rooms nor the planes so that is definitely not a worry. You are required to use your hotel key to enter and to use the elevator which makes you feel super secure! Pool is very clean and they have music playing outside. I must shoutout the front desk!! They were all extremely helpful and kind, but a special thank you to Andre I believe his name was (might be wrong) They provided 10/10 costumer service. The rooftop area is a bonus with great views and drinks with music. This is definitely my favorite hotel in all of Arizona. read more

Hotel was ok. The room was loud due to railway adjacent to the property. The hotel advertised a free night on your next stay if you stay 2 nights. I confirmed the offer with the front desk. When I tried to verify the free night, Best Western denied it was available. They said the offer advertised through the hotel was a mistake and would not honor the free night. read more

I would have loved to have given this hotel a five-star review, but there are a few issues with the hotel that must be corrected. First and foremost, the hotel is brand new and beautiful. The room was spotless, and the staff was amiable. That said, here are the issues with the hotel. First, it is located in the direct path of the Phoenix airport landing pattern. As insulated as the room appears, you still constantly hear the plains flying over as they approach the airport. There is nothing the hotel can do about that, but a fair warning for anyone who may be a light sleeper. Second, although the rooms were clean upon arrival, good luck having them clean after arrival. We left around 8 am Saturday and placed the house cleaning door hanger on our door handle. We returned to our room around 12:30 that afternoon to an unclean room. We observed the maid cart down our hall as we left, so we knew they were cleaning other rooms, but they must have skipped our room for some reason. Finally, the main reason I did not give this hotel a five-star rating. It is located right next to the train tracks. We were awoken at 4:20 am Sunday morning to the loud horn of a freight train passing through Tempe. It wouldn't have been that bad if it were just once, but this train conductor didn't want anyone within a mile radius to sleep in and decided to blare the horn five times as it passed the hotel. This will be our last stay at this hotel which is unfortunate because it is a nice hotel for the price. read more

What a horrible experience. When we arrived I thought the hotel was super cute. When we got to our room, the ac was not working. Our original room was a king lounge. They then downgraded our room to a regular king and said they could not refund the difference but the guy at the front desk said he would talk to the manager and see if anything could be done. He called me later that evening and informed me that they could not refund us but we could have credits at the bar. Which we were fine with. When we went to try to use credits, we were told that the manager said she never approved that. And they were not going to do anything to compensate for different room Rate. We could never speak to manager in person because there was never one working. read more

Poor customer service all around during the stay and an even worse experience having called both the hotel directly and the Customer Service line requesting information on what I believe to be a fraudulent charge on my card. I recently stayed at Vib Tempe 1/28 - 2/1. In that time, my room was only cleaned and restocked once. In addition, I had booked and paid through Expedia however when I checked out they charged me again using the card I put on file for incidentals. I've called 3 times now to have my card refunded and each time I was told it would be taken care of however, I'm still out $683.54. The most recent person I spoke with was rude, distracted and could barely follow along with the conversation. read more

We booked two nights, the first night, we noticed hundreds of little flying insects all over the room. It was so disgusting we told the front desk we couldn't stay in the room. Then the front desk employee, Antoinette, moved us to another room a floor down. This room was also infested with the same kind of bugs. This time we decided it was too gross to stay there and left for another hotel. When we checked out, Antoinette was completely apathetic and said she was well aware of the problem. We disputed the charge with her and she pretended she was going to get us a refund but she had to check with her manager first tomorrow morning. We never got a call and when we called back the next day. When we finally did get ahold of someone later, they said there was nothing they could do on their end to refund the charge. We paid $400 to not stay in this hotel and no one at Best Western will help us to refund the unprovided service. Needless to say, I will never stay at a Best Western again and will be leaving reviews everywhere I can to prevent others from dealing with same awful situation I've been dealing with. read more
