Very nice hotel in a decent area for local places to go eat, drink, etc. but I have to say I was expecting more for a Holiday/Hampton hotel. I could not change my temp in the room at all. I played with it, called downstairs for support but nothing. It was 75 degrees so not that hot but stuffy with no air circulation. Because of that, partially, I was not able to sleep comfortably. At about 5 AM I woke up, did what I had to do and then tried to go back to get some sleep and there was a consistent knocking against the wall. Not from a room but from what sounded like the stairwell that was next to me. It just kept knocking. I don't know if it was hammering from the plumbing, someone in the stairwell but it would not allow me to go back to sleep. As far at the hotel, it is well kept up. Very nicely designed. The staff was polite and professional. The breakfast was decent, actually pretty good. Should be more than 3 Stars but that room did now allow me to sleep.

Property has a lot of deferred maintenance like floors were coming up off floor in room, bathtub had permanent dirty looking spots, entire room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks with dust and dirt all over floors and furniture. People were walking the parking lot and coming in and out of property all night long making it hard to get any sleep. Stay was further complicated by me getting bitten by bed bugs. I have 5 bites and they itch like crazy. I travel a lot for work and have stayed at hundreds of hotels and properties and this one ranks worst of the worst by far. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here!

The end of our out west adventure. Came in this area because my hubby wanted visit with his father and army buddy. Lots of restaurants in this area Tempe scottsdale Phoenix. I have a botanical season pass and enjoyed going to theirs. As for the hotel .. didnt lolove their pillows but that is subjective.Bed was good. Wish we had brought bathing suits this trip to take advantage of pool. Shower door was off track and some stains on the carpet. Hotel complimentary breakfast was ok and appreciated saving a bit.

Stayed1 night and here are the only 2 positive things I can say: the staff is friendly and the washer & dryers work great. Cons: We stayed in room 223 and could not have been more disappointed. From the pictures I saw the rooms looked clean if a bit outdated. We walked in and I was afraid to take my shoes off. Carpet was dirty, as were a few other things here & there. There was a musty smell that even frebreeze couldn't get rid of. The charging ports wouldn't work but luckily we brought adapter plugs, one look at where the fridge was and we were sure there was mold growing in it. The bathroom seemed ok and for the most part was. Except the sink would back up and the shower had very little pressure. Since we were checking out soon we didn't bother to call the front desk, we just grabbed our things in the morning, ate a mediocre breakfast and left. Never again at this location

What a great staff of humans! My first Cousin came into town a few weeks ago and stayed here while visiting since his accommodations had a hiccup which, caused him to pick this location prior to my knowledge. He was a thrown back by the night time traffic in front of the property as he didn't realize that this area is not the best but had already booked it before informing me. Honestly, he ended up enjoying his stay here after all... since, the traffic isn't in the hotel nor allowed in the hotel lots. I visited him while here for his morning breakfast and the awesome employee lady in the cafeteria allowed me to eat with my cousin and chat since he was a guests. I'm not sure, if anyone is aware, but Hampton hotels in all States, have one of the best breakfast buffets offered in my opinion, than any other hotel I've gone to. I usually start at W hotels but I've stayed at Hamptons and have not been disappointed. In any case, my Cousin loved his stay and stated that his room was clean. I didn't go up to the room and opted to feed my face while waiting for him to grab his items for our day travel. Thanks to the entire staff, for keeping this hotel crisp clean from the widows in the entry door, throughout the cafeteria and front desk area. Very very clean!!! The young lady in the cafeteria was on top of all of the cleaning and deserved a raise and 6 months off with pay... this lady was really cleaning with her soul. Loved that for them!!! Thanks for providing out of town guests with clean accommodations.. I will recommend all Hampton hotels as I've stayed in nice ones myself, in other States. As always, There's free parking onsite. This location isn't the best but it isn't the worst either. It appears to be safe. It's close to restaurants.

Came into the Tempe/Phoenix area to visit friends and needed a place to stay a couple of nights. Hotel was clean and modern. Ample parking. Surrounding immediate area was a little secluded but various businesses and restaurants close by. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We got in early and the person at the front desk was able to get into the room earlier. Room was clean, roomy, and had nice accommodations - mini fridge. We didn't use the gym or pool, but checked it out. Both were clean and well maintained. Rate was good, and they include a complimentary breakfast. For the breakfast it's a good selection, including hot times. They have a waffle maker, so fresh crispy waffles.

First time staying at this location. The entrance/lobby was nicely decorated for Christmas. The seating area where they serve breakfast was spacious and well appointed. The room was quite large with a very nicely designed bathroom. I really like the sink area, the shelf behind the sink was very handy for holding toiletries and I liked that the mirror is hung higher. The shower also had a shower head that accommodates taller guests and that is nice. I really liked that they had 3 towel hooks in the bathroom, so much nicer than the typical hotel one hook on the back of the door. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the barn door that serves as the closet and bathroom door. A lot of light leaks out around the barn door if you keep the light on at night when sleeping so you can see to make your way to the bathroom. The breakfast was adequate, it would be nice if the egg option was up graded more and if there were more hot food options. All in all my hotel stay was pleasant, this hotel isn't fancy but it is fine if you need a clean basic hotel stay.

Lots of seating in the lobby / breakfast area

This is a long overdue review for this amazing hotel…read more I've visited Tempe to attend the Innings Festival three times now. Each time staying at a different Marriott property: Aloft the first time, Westin the second time, and at this Residence Inn during my last visit. And I have to stay, this was probably my best stay. Location wise, this property is a couple of blocks away from the Westin. But still within walking distance to the Innings festival site. The nightly rate to stay at this property was also much lower in comparison to Westin and/or Aloft (at the time of booking). And being a Residence Inn, obviously breakfast is included in the rate. Anyway, the check in process during my stay was quick, and the staff was super friendly and hospitable. Actually, all the staff encounters I'd had during my stay were super pleasant. From offering me a bottle of water when I had purchased a pack of ibuprofen to just a simple hello and a smile as we're walking by the front desk. I don't think I've ever stayed at any Marriott property where the staff is just overall pleasant! During check in, I found out that my room had been upgraded. I had originally booked a room with two queen beds but got upgraded to a two bedrooms suite with a personal bathroom in each bedroom. The hotel room also had a little common area and a kitchenette. Awesome! The noise level at this hotel was pretty much on par with every other hotel I'd stayed in so I'm not complaining about that. I thought my bed was comfortable and I always had a good night sleep during my stay here. Breakfast foods are pretty much what you'd get at any other Residence Inn. You get your eggs, sausages, potatoes, juices, waffles, etc. And although the hotel was sold out during my stay (or so I was told), the line for breakfast never got too long. And although I didn't drive here, there's a parking garage (I think public parking garage) attached to the hotel and I believe it was only around $15/night to park there. So they weren't charging insane parking fees that hotels located in downtown anywhere typically charge. Would I stay here again in the future? Hells to the yes!

Cons: Proximity to the airport leads to a lot of noise, making it difficult to sleep. They did provide earplugs which didn't help very much. No room service. Responses to messages on the Marriott app are slow. No makeup mirror in the bathroom. Room was uninspiring. There was one small drawer and no other place to unpack. The shower was of dubious cleanliness. Coffee machine in the room was sub-par (W has nespresso for example). Limited toiletry extras. Housekeeping doesn't go the extra mile (for example arranging toiletries for you, restocking lotion, etc).

You can hear virtually every passing car, and I honestly can't remember ever making that complaint about another hotel. On Saturday night, the DJ on the 14th-floor rooftop had the bass turned up so high that our room on the 8th floor was literally thumping. I called to ask whether the music could be turned down and was told it could not, and that it would continue quite late into the evening. I then asked whether the hotel had a couple of fans we could borrow to help mask the noise. Unfortunately, they didn't though they did offer earplugs, which I appreciated. To their credit, the front desk was empathetic and relocated us to another room, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall noise issues were still enough that I wouldn't choose to stay here again. If you're planning to enjoy the rooftop nightlife, this may be a great fit. If you're looking for a quiet night's sleep, I'd look elsewhere.

I did self parking at the Brickyard Parking Garage for $16 for 24 hours which was a 3 minute walk across a side street and down a short flight of stairs. I found it super convenient and would recommend it to anyone looking to skip valet. The lobby was nice, very clean and open with high ceilings and a comfortable sitting area. Austin got me checked in quickly and hooked up with their welcome package that included two free margaritas at the rooftop bar Skysill, two free cups of coffee or tea at their coffee shop and two free smoothies from Terra their restaurant on the 1st floor. I stayed in one of their Executive Suites With Mountain View and when I say the room took my breath away, I actually gasped!! It was more than I could hope for with beautiful views overlooking Tempe and Phoenix in both the living room and bedroom, a big comfy bed, a nice sized table to get work done at and a beautiful bathroom complete with a spacious shower and luxurious soaking tub! The room also came with bathrobes, complementary water bottles in the mini fridge, wine glasses and a corkscrew. I really loved being able to relax knowing everything was thought out! The rooftop bar and pool was beautiful, again with breathtaking views. The welcome margarita was good and strong but the Hibiscus Paloma was a show stopper! I also really enjoyed the rooftop patio the next morning when I took my laptop up to enjoy the sunrise over the city while getting my work day started. My morning was a breeze, enjoying beautiful views, my complimentary tea and smoothie but the standout of my stay was Aneesa at concierge. I had a last minute schedule change for a meeting that left me stressed for time to checkout and make my meeting but Aneesa saved the day when, without hesitation, she moved my checkout time back so I could complete my Teams call in the privacy of my room and not feel rushed to leave. A couple places I feel the hotel may have room for improvement on is stocking additional amenities for the bath like epsom salts or bubble bath and the windows of my room could have been cleaner but those little things really didn't bother me much at all. Honestly, I just walked across the street to the 24hr CVS and bought some bubble bath after my drinks and enjoyed a nice relaxing soak, it was perfect! I took pillow down to the front desk and dropped off. Aamil and the lady upfront apologizing... They were not the cause of my frustration. I do appreciate them and their service this night.... especially because they were pouring my drinks when I sat at the bar!! I thought an apology would happen at some point from management...not so much.. I will clearly chalk this up as a fail for Moxy Hotels.... as this seems to be missed by several of the Marriott chain hotels...and I continue to be loyal...(head scratching I know) The 2 star rating was given because the check-in experience was having me at zero stars...but the evening and morning staff working (Aamil, Kiara) was superb!! Smiling and friendly. Unfortunate experience So many choices out there ... Was told I was getting comped breakfast. After checking out - I get on the plane and find out I got charged for the comped breakfast... Questions just reach out! Respectfully, Bryan Oklahoma City

There is a small supplied kitchen and refrigerator plus cooktop stove and small refrigerator freezer. You easily could live there for months. It has a high top dining and working counter. It has a large screen tv that swivels for watching from bed or living room. It has a clothing closet. It has two low dressers four drawers total. And a nightstand. TV stand has some small shelves. By door you find a shoe and pantry nook for small food storage. Also has a dishwasher. Pros: Can cook and eat there. Rooftop pool with bar. Great location by arena and football stadium. Walkable to restaurants, Trader Joe's, ASU Tempe campus, light rail and buses and transportation center all right there. Town Lake and office complex a few blocks away. Free breakfast every day that's pretty good and varies a little each day with free coffee and other morning drinks. Has a workout room with a great view. Very friendly and helpful staff, went out of their way twice to fetch sweetener and ice. Small convenience store next to front desk. Reasonable daily parking fee that includes unlimited in and out privileges Cons: On a five night stay, housekeeping only checked on us 2 days. Needs small repairs here and there. Example: 2 or 3 drawers had loose pulls that needed screw tightening, saw a weather strip partially detached from door frame. Small workout area had limited equipment. One treadmill was broken one day and I had to wait an hour for the treadmill hog on the only working treadmill to get off despite posted 45 minutes max use rule. Other equipment like weights a bit limited. They allow pets and one day we had to deal with a barking dog somewhere morning and night. We complained twice and the hotel staff could only say they tried and that people are not supposed to leave their pets unattended. Bella from light rail every five to fifteen minutes if you get the southern/western side of the building.

The first impression was warm and inviting: the decor has a cozy, Native American-inspired vibe, complete with a little fire pit area that added to the charm. At check-in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly front desk staff, who made the check-in process smooth and of course offered us the Signature Doubletree cookie. The hotel's layout blends indoor and outdoor spaces, so after checking in, we had to walk outside to reach our room. While the room felt a bit dim, outdated, and slightly worn, it was decently clean and worked just fine for a short overnight stay. One of the biggest perks of this hotel is its proximity to the airport--super convenient for layovers or early flights. They also offer a shuttle service, and the drivers were cheerful and friendly, which made the travel experience very enjoyable. If you're looking for a quick and comfortable stop near the airport with friendly staff and a unique ambiance, this hotel is a solid choice.

We were staying one night in Phoenix before our flight and decided to book through our Hilton Honors account at a DoubleTree. The location we originally wanted was full, so we chose the Tempe property instead. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. The woman at the front desk was very standoffish. When we asked about room rates, she quoted a much higher price than our Hilton Honors rate, so we decided to book online while standing in the lobby. When we went back to check in, she told us we had to wait. I also asked for one of the famous cookies, and she said they "weren't ready." She offered no welcome, no information about the hotel, and didn't ask any questions. If you're the face of a hotel, a warm and friendly attitude makes all the difference. Once we got to our room, things didn't improve. The property itself feels very old and outdated. The carpet was torn right at the entrance with sharp pieces sticking out, the AC was loud and squeaky, the headboard wasn't attached to the wall, and we heard a strange tapping sound all night long. We decided to give the property another chance by trying the on-site restaurant, Milagros. Unfortunately, both meals, the ribeye and fajitas the ribeye was raw (and made my husband sick later) and the steak on the fajitas were super tough and both were disappointing. The steaks were poorly cooked and lacked flavor. The one bright spot of the evening was Pedro, who apologized sincerely and provided 50% off my fajitas. His customer service was excellent and truly appreciated. Overall, this hotel does not reflect the quality or hospitality I've come to associate with DoubleTree. It's old, outdated, and lacks the warmth and care that usually make this brand so dependable. I truly hope management takes steps to refresh both the property and the guest experience.
