We drove from Kansas City to San Diego and back and stayed in 12 different hotels, so we're comparing them all. We stayed here one night for $86.29, which was the average price for the trip. SHE: Compared to all the other hotels we've been in, this was the lap of luxury. HE: Very luxurious. How many pillows were there? SHE: Were there three? No, no, no, no, no? Were there two? No. HE: Were there four? There were four, at least, maybe more. SHE: There were more because there were two beds, and they each had four pillows on them. HE: So we had eight pillows! SHE: That's how you define the lap of luxury. Eight pillows. HE: This was a big chain hotel that had four floors. We were on the fourth floor. I think it's near the airport, but we could not hear any noise at all. SHE: It was a big room, very nicely furnished. Everything was in great condition compared to the other hotels on our trip. The freezer froze, which was great. HE: The shower had a bar in it, so I guess it was an accessible shower, but it was like a normal shower. SHE: It had a three-way shower head. HE: Not much of a view out the window. That doesn't matter. SHE: The outlets were in the right places, and it was the first place we stayed at offering breakfast. They had like three or four different friends of coffee, and a waffle maker, and three cereals. HE: There was a lovely lounge eating area, too. And an outdoor area. That was nice. Very nice hotel in a decent area for local places to go eat, drink, etc. but I have to say I was expecting more for a Holiday/Hampton hotel. I could not change my temp in the room at all. I played with it, called downstairs for support but nothing. It was 75 degrees so not that hot but stuffy with no air circulation. Because of that, partially, I was not able to sleep comfortably. At about 5 AM I woke up, did what I had to do and then tried to go back to get some sleep and there was a consistent knocking against the wall. Not from a room but from what sounded like the stairwell that was next to me. It just kept knocking. I don't know if it was hammering from the plumbing, someone in the stairwell but it would not allow me to go back to sleep. As far at the hotel, it is well kept up. Very nicely designed. The staff was polite and professional. The breakfast was decent, actually pretty good. Should be more than 3 Stars but that room did now allow me to sleep. read more

Property has a lot of deferred maintenance like floors were coming up off floor in room, bathtub had permanent dirty looking spots, entire room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks with dust and dirt all over floors and furniture. People were walking the parking lot and coming in and out of property all night long making it hard to get any sleep. Stay was further complicated by me getting bitten by bed bugs. I have 5 bites and they itch like crazy. I travel a lot for work and have stayed at hundreds of hotels and properties and this one ranks worst of the worst by far. The end of our out west adventure. Came in this area because my hubby wanted visit with his father and army buddy. Lots of restaurants in this area Tempe scottsdale Phoenix. I have a botanical season pass and enjoyed going to theirs. As for the hotel .. didnt lolove their pillows but that is subjective.Bed was good. Wish we had brought bathing suits this trip to take advantage of pool. Shower door was off track and some stains on the carpet. Stayed1 night and here are the only 2 positive things I can say: the staff is friendly and the washer & dryers work great. Cons: We stayed in room 223 and could not have been more disappointed. From the pictures I saw the rooms looked clean if a bit outdated. We walked in and I was afraid to take my shoes off. Carpet was dirty, as were a few other things here & there. There was a musty smell that even frebreeze couldn't get rid of. The charging ports wouldn't work but luckily we brought adapter plugs, one look at where the fridge was and we were sure there was mold growing in it. The bathroom seemed ok and for the most part was. Except the sink would back up and the shower had very little pressure. Since we were checking out soon we didn't bother to call the front desk, we just grabbed our things in the morning, ate a mediocre breakfast and left. Never again at this location read more

What a great staff of humans! My first Cousin came into town a few weeks ago and stayed here while visiting since his accommodations had a hiccup which, caused him to pick this location prior to my knowledge. He was a thrown back by the night time traffic in front of the property as he didn't realize that this area is not the best but had already booked it before informing me. Honestly, he ended up enjoying his stay here after all... since, the traffic isn't in the hotel nor allowed in the hotel lots. I visited him while here for his morning breakfast and the awesome employee lady in the cafeteria allowed me to eat with my cousin and chat since he was a guests. I'm not sure, if anyone is aware, but Hampton hotels in all States, have one of the best breakfast buffets offered in my opinion, than any other hotel I've gone to. I usually start at W hotels but I've stayed at Hamptons and have not been disappointed. In any case, my Cousin loved his stay and stated that his room was clean. I didn't go up to the room and opted to feed my face while waiting for him to grab his items for our day travel. Thanks to the entire staff, for keeping this hotel crisp clean from the widows in the entry door, throughout the cafeteria and front desk area. Very very clean!!! The young lady in the cafeteria was on top of all of the cleaning and deserved a raise and 6 months off with pay... this lady was really cleaning with her soul. Loved that for them!!! Thanks for providing out of town guests with clean accommodations.. I will recommend all Hampton hotels as I've stayed in nice ones myself, in other States. As always, There's free parking onsite. Came into the Tempe/Phoenix area to visit friends and needed a place to stay a couple of nights. Hotel was clean and modern. Ample parking. Surrounding immediate area was a little secluded but various businesses and restaurants close by. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We got in early and the person at the front desk was able to get into the room earlier. Room was clean, roomy, and had nice accommodations - mini fridge. We didn't use the gym or pool, but checked it out. Both were clean and well maintained. Rate was good, and they include a complimentary breakfast. For the breakfast it's a good selection, including hot times. They have a waffle maker, so fresh crispy waffles. read more

i Had the most unprofessional experience! "Gabby " the attendant who answered the phone, was very rude and argumentative!

I'll start off by saying I've stayed at many Hampton Inns across the country and for long periods of time. I have been a Hilton Honors member for going on 5 years and was able to book my 2 night stay using points I've built up. I've always loved them and was so comfortable, but I was extremely disappointed with this location. It started off with the digital key not working to get in through the side door closest to our room so my fiance was left standing there while I walked around with my service dog to the front entrance. Since it was so late you needed a key to scan in which I didn't have so I kept ringing the bell but no response from anyone and no one was at the desk. a guest who was there had to open the door for me. We finally settled and looked forward to laying in bed only to be greeted by a springy mattress that's harder than a rock. We then went to plug our laptops in and the outlet didn't work. Then we went to wash our face and the sink was clogged and the water barely went down. The curtain was also hanging down exposing the room (which was on the bottom floor as we requested) so my fiance had to fix it. This was by far the worst Hampton Inn location I've ever experienced and I would not recommend it at all! read more

They don't leave a bottle water in the room rather you have to buy it at the desks for $2.00. The front desk has a bit of an attitude. Cleaning is every two days and you have to ask for bed changes . For the money not so good. read more

Air conditioner smelled like mold. Our daughter can't be near anything that's moldy or musty due to her illness. We had to change rooms but it didn't help. Rooms are ok, but I've stayed in better. At 11:30 pm we had to go somewhere else. Management really needs to figure out what's going on with the air units. You should also be doing a mold test to ensure your guests are not exposed to mold spores in the air. It can make people very sick!! I don't have an illness like my daughter but I could smell it when we turned it on. it's awful!! read more

Our one-night stay was just prior to Christmas, 2025. Upon checking in, I couldn't get the t.v. to work. I called the front desk and they came to our room and instructed me to use one remote control for volume and another one to change channels. The next morning, I tried to get back on the ABC network and couldn't. We stay in many hotels around the world & I've never experienced anything like this. Other odd things included a wall thermostat that had power and seemed to work but the heater never came on. I had to use the controls on the unit. Why then have a thermostat? Maintenance also appears to be an issue. We will not stay at this hotel again. read more

I have been falsely accused of taking their pillows. All pillows were on the beds when house keeping entered the room at our departure time. When speaking to management they stated they would not refund the money as they believe the housekeeping staff that cleaned the room. I traveled with a back pack spoke to staff before I left I would clearly like to know where they think I hid the pillows. First time staying at this location. The entrance/lobby was nicely decorated for Christmas. The seating area where they serve breakfast was spacious and well appointed. The room was quite large with a very nicely designed bathroom. I really like the sink area, the shelf behind the sink was very handy for holding toiletries and I liked that the mirror is hung higher. The shower also had a shower head that accommodates taller guests and that is nice. I really liked that they had 3 towel hooks in the bathroom, so much nicer than the typical hotel one hook on the back of the door. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the barn door that serves as the closet and bathroom door. A lot of light leaks out around the barn door if you keep the light on at night when sleeping so you can see to make your way to the bathroom. The breakfast was adequate, it would be nice if the egg option was up graded more and if there were more hot food options. All in all my hotel stay was pleasant, this hotel isn't fancy but it is fine if you need a clean basic hotel stay. read more

Check in around 6 pm was quick and easy. Our room was nice and spacious with ample room. The lighting in the room could've been better though. There weren't many lights for such a big room. It was like many Hampton Inn rooms - large space, large bathroom, basic furnishings. Our window faced the parking lot which was nice as we could see our rental car from the room. Good location for visiting ASU, etc., rooms are large and clean. Minimum of stars is primarily due to the Inflexibility and the less-than-helpful attitude by the front desk. FYI early check-in is never granted prior to 1:00pm (without exception) as I observed many individual members of an out-of-state college hockey team try (and fail) to get an earlier check- in, despite the fact that they were scheduled to play ASU in a matter of hours and had just driven themselves over 6 hours. Being able to store their gear and freshen up would go a long way towards a win for these men. And BTW, am not affiliated with this team, but I would be shocked if their coach/manager hadn't requested this accommodation prior to the team's booking. But the weirdestand by far the most off-putting thing I've ever experienced in a Hampton property was that the large automatic sliding doors leading main lobby doors were locked and everyone checking in had to ring a doorbell and wait to be buzzed in. When we asked the same joyless, and condescending reception staff person why the sliding doors were locked was that it us corporate policy to lock the main lobby doors 24 hours a day. As a decades-long Hilton Honors member I have NEVER experienced this supposedly policy before before (and makes one wonder in what kind of neighborhood this property is located). I have really begun to enjoy the hotel and management. It has been my 4th trip here in one year (college.) It is centrally located to everything or just a hop away from the 202 Loop. It is quiet for the most part, I haven't heard any type of noise off of Scottsdale Road and it is quite busy and loaded with stores. 15 or so to the AP as well. They may provide breakfast daily; something hot, continental, coffee and teas, fruit. It is just enough to get one started on the day. I even do the laundry and its worked out for me. I am sure I will be back. read more

My family has stayed this week two times at this hotel, one time on our way to CA, the other time in our way back home to TX. We have absolutely loved the staff, complementary breakfast and rooms. The have being updated and they look wonderful, with pretty white barn doors, they even have a nightlight in the bathroom to help find the way if it's too pitch black. The showers have big size high quality body wash, shampoo and conditioner. I absolutely recommend this hotel, and I plan to remain a customer whenever we are in town. read more

Not a bad place to stay, considering the last two times I stayed at a Hilton property both were awful. Anyway I get here way before check in and they didn't have a room ready yet. The guy at the counter said it usually isn't a problem for early check ins but a huge group had checked out all at once and the cleaning staff had their hands full. I didn't mind waiting so I settled down in the lobby and maybe 10 minutes later he called me back over and said the room was good to go. The room was nice enough although there weren't enough outlets for all of the light fixtures and appliances so I had to plug the desk lamp into the actual desk outlet to get power to it, haha. The bathroom was spacious but there is no barrier between the shower and the rest of the room so even a brief shower leaked water all over the floor. I had to use a couple of towels to soak everything up. The next morning some guy was behind the counter filling out papers and when I got up to checkout he said he "wasn't actually here", called for someone and then left the building. Whoever he called in the office never came out and then a third person waked by into the office and left me standing there. Then the guy from yesterday came running over from the other direction and helped me get checked out. They must work this guy hard because he was pretty much the only guest services staff member I saw during my stay, other than right now. I'd stay here again. Just be careful pulling into their parking lot because its kind of narrow and people don't slow down to let you make the turn. read more

Located near main highways and close to the airport the price was attractive. The few blocks either side of the hotel are unusual. A strip club, Goodwill store, bikini drive thru coffee store are all present. In one direction is ASU, Scottsdale is in the other direction. Staff was friendly but not knowledgeable about the area. I asked about a grocery store. Nobody knew but I located two within four blocks after searching. Room was clean, breakfast the standard Hampton Inn. Do not stay at this hotel! I really am not sure why they received 4 stars bcuz I would give them 0 stars if I could. I checked in with my children on Thursday night and by Friday AM we were riddled with bed bug bites. My daughter noticed hers first and I was in denial until I started to notice mines. Later on Friday at around 10pm we actually SAW the bed bug in the bed. I took pictures and video to prove my findings and was told by AMY at the counter that I was still going to be charged until the hotel did it's own investigation. They did change my room and if it wasn't so late I would have gone to another hotel bcuz I didn't feel comfortable staying there another night. The night guy told me that I wouldn't be charged but I was told something completely different when I checked out the next day. Also, I get that it's COVID season but they could have gotten the trash that was left by the elevator on the 3rd floor. Someone threw away their dirty diaper which stunk up the entire 3rd floor area (as soon as you got off the elevator)! This place is trash. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!! I now have to go find a laundry so that I can wash all my stuff before I get on my flight today. They will never get my business and hopefully you will be smart to NOT stay here!!! UPDATE: I got a call from Amy after I checked out that I would not be charged for my 2 night stay! Thank goodness.... that would've been bad business on their part to make a customer PAY for getting eaten up by bed bugs. ​ American Airlines booked me at the Hampton Inn after giving up my seat for a voucher. They instructed me to call the number to book the free airport shuttle. We called. Dun dun dunnnnnnn.... Mailbox Full. I was completely prepared to write off the hotel after googling a number and still being unable to connect. We Ubered over and were greeted by Shawn. Shawn set us up for our luggageless night with tons of toiletries and kindness. He also reimbursed me for my Uber ride. Thanks Shawn! Overall the hotel was tidy with spacious rooms, comfy beds and a yummy hot breakfast bar which ends at 10 am. Only a 10 minute ride or a $10 Uber from the airport and this is a very comfy, convenient and good value stay. The pool looked clean and I spied coin laundry amenities available. ​​ read more

Possibly the nicest Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at! I was so pleased with the location! My room was like an apartment, the entire property was also impeccable and brand new. (Check out my attached pictures.) The room had a microwave and a refrigerator, which I loved. The staff was super friendly and there was even a nice outdoor patio area with a TV. This location is extremely close to the airport and the price was very reasonable. It's close to a TON of restaurants and stores which I appreciated. It is also only about ten minutes away from ASU. There is a ton of parking available. There is also a pool. The property is very well maintained. Will definitely be staying there again in the future when I'm in Tempe! read more

Very nice hotel. This is one of Hilton's brands and they have a good setup, similar to Courtyard or Hilton Garden, where it's all about convenience. This middle of the road accommodation is the type that was served by Travelodge or Best Western back in the day, when "motels" were more common. Here you check in quickly. The rooms are in a hallway like a hotel but fairly accessible like a motel. The rooms are clean and have plenty if towels and places to plug in your cell phone. They have breakfast included which is not a "full" buffet, but does have waffles, cereals, oatmeal, pastries, toast, etc. plus fruit, juice and coffee. Free newspapers is a plus. People who work here are very nice and check you in efficiently. read more

I was very happy with almost everything at the hotel. The rooms were very nice and clean. The issue is that the curtains do not close! Not that they were broken, they are designed that way. My party stayed in 230 and 209 and both rooms had the same window coverings. We traveled with our small baby who woke up when the sun came through the windows. It's just unacceptable that a hotel where people are traveling from different time zones does not have black out curtains. read more

This is a fairly new Hampton and is very nice. We needed a microwave so when We checked in I mentioned it to the front desk and by the time we got our luggage and started up the front desk young man said it was already in the room. The homemade cookies were out so I grabbed a couple of them for a late night snack. Our room was one of the new modern style rooms and was very nice. it was clean and had all the amenities we needed including the microwave. The beds were very comfortable and had the famous clean duvet covers. The breakfast room was large and the food was kept fresh, hot and filled all the time. The homemade waffles are the best. The location is very convenient to the airport and to the interstate. I will come back to stay here again when we come back to this area. read more
