We arrived at 7:20 PM and it is now 8:31 PM -- and we still have not received our food. This experience has been beyond frustrating. When we first walked in, we stood at the front door for about six minutes with no acknowledgment from any staff. It became obvious no one was coming to seat us, so I had to walk toward the back and ask someone if we could be seated. That should have been the first red flag. After finally being seated, it took nearly twenty minutes for someone to come take our order. Now, over an hour later, we are still sitting here without food. No updates. No apologies. No sense of urgency. This level of service is completely unacceptable. Waiting over an hour for food without any communication is ridiculous. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this restaurant based on the service alone. read more

Came here from an influencer review as it seemed quite interesting. The empanadas were quite good and had a nice savory flavor. The mofongo was interesting and the sauce accompanying it was quite good. It was a bit too doughy for my tastes and the protein portion size was too small for the price. This place is quite pricey but I would consider returning in the future to try more items since it is novel to me. read more

We went here with our friend from DR who mentioned that this place was pretty close to food at home. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious from the chicharrons to the fried fish and plantains. They have seating inside and outside. Parking is plentiful. Service was great! And they even have a little mini-mart at the registers as well where we grabbed a bag of ground DR coffee and a few suckered for the kids. We can't wait to go back! read more

While my churrasco was super juicy, tender, and well seasoned, my mofongo was really dry. Now on to my suggestions: I highly suggest you order appetizers. The meal come out kinda slow and you'll have something to eat and you can chat while you wait. The beef empanadas, mofongo, and the orange and milk drink was hitting! I ordered the peppered steak with the concon which is the very crispy rice that is stuck at the bottom of the pan with beans. Now the rice wasn't right. It wasn't crispy and it was more like it was heated up and old. If that makes any sense. Like, when you leave rice out and it kinda get hard and then you heat that up. That was disappointing. Because I love crunchy rice! The peppered steak isn't like an American steak. We would call it a salisbury steak with the texture of chicken fried steak. I read the reviews and was so excited to try it. However, I was so disappointed. Let's first start with the positive. The servers were great. No downtime for them. Very pleasant. The food was a major let down. Ordered empanadas as a appetizer . 1 hour before they came out. Had a seafood empanada. The filling was basically chopped clams that come in a can. No other seafood seemed present, and the cost was extra. Had the bistec encebollado and I am not sure if it was steak or a tire. Extremely bland and I could barely cut it with a knife. It was one dried out piece with no seasoning. Dominican food has garlic, but clearly there was no garlic to be found in any of the dishes. The wait time to be served was unacceptable . Husband took one bite and was ready to leave. Not sure if they were short staff in the kitchen, but it reflected in the food. I want this restaurant to be a success since there are so few carribean restaurants in DFW. Please look at the review and use it as a tool for improvement . I want your restaurant to win. read more

My husband was so excited to find this place right down the street from our house. We moved from NY last summer and missed the good Dominican food from back home. We tried the items below and we've loved just about everything. Mangu - My personal favorite. It's seasoned and mashed plantains served with a fried egg, fried cheese (!!) and pickled onions. My mouth is watering just thinking about this. You can also get it with sausage, but I don't eat pork. Beef Empanada - Some of the best empanadas I've had in awhile. The filling was seasoned perfectly. Chicken Empanada - Even better than the beef! The chicken wasn't dry at all, as it often tends to be in an empanada. So good! Chimichurri - It wasn't bad, but we didn't know it contained pork. The patty is a mix of pork and beef. Chicharron de Pollo - This was good, but sadly not as good as the one we're used to. It's seasoned nicely, but the style is a little different. The serving here is also about half of what we got at our favorite place in NY. It's served with rice and beans, which were really good! Churrasco - My husband loves steak and he said he enjoyed this one. Pastellito - This is like a Dominican shepherds pie and you can get it with potato, sweet potato or plantain on top. We opted for sweet potato and it was really good! I'd like to try the potato version next. We really enjoyed our food here and will definitely be back. I was in town briefly and was curious what the Dominican food scene looked like here. I was surprised there was even a Dominican restaurant here so I decided to order take out. I ordered their Pernil plate with rice and habichuelas. It did not come with a green salad as indicated on their menu. It was served with an interesting chimichurri style mojo sauce, which did not complement the Pernil well. The Pernil itself was not seasoned properly, at least the not way that I'm used to it being seasoned, and tasted like it had been sitting around a bit. I also ordered a beef pastelito and it was fine but nothing out of this world. Overall, I wouldn't order from here again. I forgot to take a pic unfortunately. read more

Going to be honest with this review. As a half Dominican/Mexican brother that was born in LA, this restaurant makes me feel right at home. Not only is the food great, but the staff does an extremely good job keeping the restaurant authentic. It's rare to have cultural restaurants like this that dedicate their love and soul into providing a Caribbean food experience to Texas. The Mofongo de Camarones is my favorite but you've got to try the Chivo Guisado one day. They make it better than myself Dominican food is something everyone should try. Found this place on GrubHub and it did not disappoint. Dallas needed a good Dominican restaurant and this is it. My wife and I have loved Dominican food since we had it in Queens, NY several years ago. We both got the "tres golpes" with mangu and it was just like we remember it. We also got sides of tostones and yuca frita with mayoketchup. All of it was amazing and we highly recommend it.
