This is a long time coming. Recently inherited an older car, so have to usually get it smog checked before renewing at the DMV. DP Star smog center is very quick (in and out in about 20 minutes), reputable (they have signs everywhere saying do not ask them to perform illegal practices) and a local business. The place I normally do my smog checks at was unexpectedly closed and voicemail full with no explanations. I found this place online and was pleasantly surprised. They took my car in and serviced it right away. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. They offered me coffee that they had brewing inside. This was in December. When they were done, they said Merry Christmas and gave me a cool car calendar and hand sanitizer! Definitely will come back and recommend. read more

My family has been coming here for at least 20 years. I remember being here with my grandparents and their 80's Datsun and now I write this waiting for my mom's car to be 'smogged' I called a few other places before remembering that this place was here and I'm happy I did because their price was lower than what I was quoted elsewhere. Same owners and same great service I was in and out in about 20 minutes. I'll keep this place in mind for next time and recommend it if I can. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. He declined to run the smog test. He said that he wasn't going to do it because the catalytic that was installed was not for my car and that I had a bad coolant thermostat. My Check Engine Light was on and those were the two problems it had so I took care of it before taken it in for the smog. Check engine light went away on its own after these two issues were fixed. When he told me that, i was ANGRY because I paid a lot of money to get it fix. I went back to the muffler shop and mechanic shop accusing them of doing a bad job and to fix it or give me money back just because this so call technician said so and I believed him because he knows. RIGHT?!?? BUT GUESS WHAT??? The muffler installed is the correct one and my coolant thermostat is good. HE JUST REFUSED TO HELPED ME BECAUSE IT'S AN OLDER CAR. What was so hard of doing the smog and see if it passed or failed, but he didn't want to. He just said to get it fixed and go somewhere else. WTF, ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!! He only want to work with newer cars. If you have an older car STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. read more

My mothers car needed a smog I drove very far to this place out of the neighborhood hoping to have a good experience. Long story short mom's car did not pass the first time I was told to drive 100 miles to restart the computer which i did and was told it would cost $8 more after completing the drive to get a certificate. We did exactly what the owner told us to do and when we brought the car back we were told his warranty expired and had to pay again for the entire smog job. This place SUCKS and i will never go back or recommend anyone to this DP STAR AUTOMOTIVE OFFICIAL SMOG TEST. read more

First time doing my smog test, they had recommended this location to me and I'll be coming here when I need to! Place is clean and comfy they are very nice and helpful here. Came 20 min before closing and it was a bit busy but didn't wait more than 15 minutes. I brought in my Toyota Camry 09 & paid $52. Super quick and not bad on price point TAKE CASH THOUGH -paid a small fee because of debit. The workers are very friendly and welcoming. read more

I went to CKS based on my mechanics referal. My mechanic is very honest and he's been in business for over 40 years generation to generation. So I trust him. The service was quick they had 2 technicians there and the price was cheap compared to some other places I've been. It was only $58.00 out the door. This place is test only station. Definitely will go back when I need to. read more

I made an appointment through their website, very user friendly, and received a confirmation text shortly after. I decided I needed to modify my appointment, there didn't seem to be an option to do it on the website, so I texted the number back and asked to change my appointment, this was done quickly without issues. I arrived to my appointment 10 mins early. Dru was very helpful, friendly and professional. He entered my car's info into the system, and once my car passed the smog check, everything was updated and entered into the system already so that when I pay my registration, the DMV (or in my case, AAA) will see that my car passed the smog test. In case the system isn't updated, I was provided with a hard copy certificate to prove that it passed. My entire appointment took 10mins altogether, can't beat that! Pricing was fair and affordable, depends on the year of your car. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs a quick smog check station.

There was a faux pas where I locked my keys in my car just that quick. I had to wait for a bit to have an extra key brought to me. There were a few cars that came through for the service. I finally was able to pull up. Everything was fine and he handed me my smog cert and receipt. What he failed to do was return my registration form but I did not realize it until I got home so I went back to let him know he still had my form and without even looking, he was very adamant that he gave it back and I was 100% sure he had not...I hadn't been anywhere else and it was not in the car. So I asked if he could just look but he was rude and very unsympathetic to my request. I was insistent so he half-heartedly looked and I asked about a stack of papers that he finally rushed-looked through and then I ask about some other stack of folded papers that happened to be other registration forms of other customers that he claimed that they threw away. He tossed them at me to look through. I did not recover my form. Why would there be a stack of other customer forms that customers threw away just laying around if they threw them out? Why didn't he throw them out if that was the case? He probably didn't return their's either! Then it dawned on me that perhaps he was right and so was I. I had been there for a minute and he had my form the whole time so when the other cars came through while I was waiting for my extra key, he probably handed my form to one of those other customers or it's still there at his shop stuck somewhere but didn't bother to really look for it. I have no complaints with the smog check only the rude-ass merchant and because of that, I will go elsewhere where courtesy counts when spending my dollars! My form was never found that the merchant said he returned to me. How it got lost from his shop to my home is beyond my comprehension! Note: if any fraudulent activity arise as a result of my info being hijacked by this business or mistakenly given to the wrong customer, Best Buy Smog will be liable!!!!!!

The mechanic came almost at 10 saying he was working out.... Then he said he thought it was one of the part and wanted me to come back on Saturday, when I went back on Saturday they were closed. I went back to home and I replaced motor instead of some other part he ordered. A little unprofessional
