I have no idea why the stars are so bad at this Dairy Queen because I had an excellent experience where the staff went out of their way to be helpful and kind. The store was immaculately clean. The staff were absolutely lovely. Truly. I was with my Nanni and cousin and her toddler. My Nanni has a limp so they brought the food and ice creams out to our table without us asking or anything! It was super nice of them. The food was delicious. We also bought a cake for my Nanni's birthday and they were careful and neat when writing out "Happy Birthday, Nanni" (she's kind of sassy and likes it spelled with an "i" unlike other Southern grandmothers who spell it with a "y". Lol. They were good sports about it). We stayed there laughing and talking for an hour it was so pleasant! I would most certainly visit this location again. read more

Apparently at some time long ago I felt so disappointed with the burgers at Dairy Queen that I can't even remember when I last gave them a chance. I had become to feel the only thing worthwhile at DQ is the Blizzard. The Blizzard is, and has always been awesome. When I say, 'a long time'; I mean it may well be I haven't had a burger from DQ in the 21st century! Today I was craving a burger. I didn't want a fancy burger. It didn't have to be the best in the city. I was fine with getting fast food. When it comes to fast food burgers my go-to restaurants have been for a long time Hardee's & Burger King. I used to really like Wendy's, but in recent years I've been really disappointed with the quality. I love the burgers at Hardee's, but their locations aren't close to home, and worse; these days most of the area Hardee's locations have very limited hours. Most are only open for breakfast & lunch, and the nearest location offering online ordering is more than 20 miles away. I think it's safe to say the Chattanooga area Hardee's franchise is struggling. Sorry for the tangent! I'm here to discuss Dairy Queen. So, I place my order online, and went to pick it up. The DQ app was very easy to use for ordering. When I went into the the DQ store I was impressed first with the layout, and apparent cleanliness. The staff was engaged, and I was quickly greeted. I did have to wait a few minutes for my order which was surprising given I placed it online about 5-10 minutes prior to my arrival at the store. It was just a few minutes wait after I arrived, so, I was ready to excuse that if the food was good & fresh. It was. It is probably a good thing that they didn't prepare my order as soon as I ordered it, and instead waited to prepare it until I actually arrived. That small wait is worth it to get fresh food. With the first bite of the burger I was immediately impressed. First, it was prepared correctly with my customizations. Most importantly, that burger was damned tasty! All the toppings were fresh. The meat was flavorful, and juicy. The bun held it all together well. It appears DQ is really focusing on quality, and service these days. I'm very pleased, and based on today's experience can easily rank DQ burgers in the top 3 of fast food burgers in Chattanooga. Unfortunately, their locations are more sparse that the Hardee's locations. I will definitely go again. If their locations were more convenient, I'd go more often. I visited this DQ on 153 today 4 burgers, 2 fries, 1 opinion ring, 1 cheese sticks, ice cream cone dipped cotton candy, diet coke and one cotton candy shake. Condiments.... Catchup, salt, marinara sauce, OH LORD !!! Got 2 napkins, 2 packs salt, 4 catch-ups, no one said anything about cotton candy chip shake but apparently that's what you get is chips or bits so that was a waste, the burgers had so much mustard on them the store probably had a shortage. I hope we didn't break them on this visit since they couldn't spare a few napkins and some salt and catch-up. Im really disappointed. read more

Stopped in on a whim. Think of DQ as a kids place. We both had a chili dog, fries and shake. It was great, tasted really good, fries were crispy and shakes were delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We're typically not into fast food due to cleanliness of the restaurants and staff with bad attitudes. DQ was clean and we enjoyed our meal. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Dairy Queen is very nostalgic for me but I can only remember eating here, (not this particular location), once in the past 10 years. Tonight I noticed one close to my hotel and decided to give it a try, It was late and few restaurants were even open, so it was nice to see that drive through service was still available. I ordered a chicken strip basket with onion rings. We waited a bit for the strips as they were prepared fresh. They were promptly delivered to our car with the requested sauces and we were on our way Overall, everything was good and hot. The onion rings were not over battered and I love being able to actually taste the onion. Although they were crisp, I like a little extra crisp on mine. The strips were good. My husband ordered a pineapple sundae which was weird. He actually ordered it and added peanuts. Yuck! As if the combination wasn't bad enough, the ice cream was weird to us, This may be because we tend to eat a more authentic ice cream as opposed to a processed soft serve product. Actually, we don't ever order the eat ice cream here so we didn't know what to expect. I say skip the ice cream and stick with the savory menu and you will be fine. We Finished eating and I went back up to tell them we ordered blizzard and were ready for them. I stood up and watched them make two cones and a peanut butter blizzard and a peanut butter milkshake. They did NOT wash the blender off and went on making other orders. I stoped one of the girl and asked them shouldn't you be washing that off for allergy purposes. She said no. This Dairy Queen is very bad. We are fans of DQ but will not return. We gave this restaurant 3 tries to get it right. The service is hit/miss. The last 2 times we went, they had no chocolate ice cream. They tried to make a chocolate Blizzard but the fellow making the shakes did a horrible job. Since there was no chocolate ice cream they offered to add syrup, which they charged me extra for! I ask the young, disinterested cashier about this extra charge and he essentially said, 'too bad'. This was bad enough but when we received our chocolate Blizzard, there was virtually no chocolate and by the time we had eaten 1/3 of the ice cream, it was all vanilla! Bad service, bad execution, bad restaurant. I would encourage you to go to Cook Out. Just south of this place. They have excellent food and shakes, without the attitude and you will actually get what you pay for. read more
