Everything looked clean inside and out. ** I was hungry so I boogied home. Unfortunately it was a bit cold so into the microwave it went while I heated a piece of cheese garlic bread ! There is also a Dairy Queen in Yoakum, Texas where I grew up as a kid. What fond memories! Eating at this one in Alvarado was everything I expected from eating at the local DQ. The food was fresh and cooked-to-order. Service was also very prompt and friendly. The restaurant and surrounding property seemed clean and well-maintained. Now, let's talk about this feast: Chicken Fried Steak--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and smothered in a rich, creamy gravy that could make even the most devoted vegetarian rethink their life choices. Creamy Mashed Potatoes--also generously blanketed in that same glorious gravy, because if you're going to do comfort food, do it right. Green Beans--but not just any green beans, the homemade kind with little bits of bacon that make you feel like someone's grandma made them with love. Dinner Rolls--fluffy, buttery, and downright dangerous. You tell yourself you'll eat one, but then another one magically disappears, and you're left wondering what happened.
