They sat us at one of the semi circle booths, and even had rose petals on the table. Ambiance is 10/10. Our server was Ireland and she was the best. Pacing was on point with the wine, appetizer, main course, and dessert. Great vibes and knowledgable on the food, when we had questions. Service was also a 10/10. The bread with their special butter was a great starter 8/10. The ceviche is probably the best I've ever had. I recommend eating the pepper that it's in, especially if you like spice... 11/10. We also had the cioppino and salmon, which were both delicious 9/10. This place is a must, if you're in North county. Unlike most places that only offer 4 or 5 basic items, Vintana has a good variety to choose from. ​Full-Sized Portions: Usually, Happy Hour means tiny "tapas" sizes, but here, you get full-sized portions that actually fill you up. ​Tuesday Date Night Deal: We did the Tuesday Date Night menu--$74.99 for two entrees and a bottle of wine. In 2026, finding a deal that good for a quality date night is rare. ​The Cons: Slow Service & a Spillage Slip-up ​The Wait: Despite having a 4:00 PM reservation and arriving on time, it took over 20 minutes just to get us seated. The staff is very friendly, but the overall pace felt a bit slow. ​The Incident: During dinner, our server brought out a mussels dish with a lot of liquid. Unfortunately, they spilled about half a cup of the sauce on the table and the floor, and about a good big tablespoon right onto my wife's clothes. Look, I get it--it's an accident, it's not life-or-death, and it's incredibly awkward and embarrassing for the server in the moment. We have been to Vintana many times. Tonight I'm finally writing a review. Tonight was a very nice dining experience. It's been a while since we have been here. There are many updates that add to the ambiance. The main dining area is as nice as I remember it with an upscale feel. Walking to the main dining area is a long dining table and a display of their bottles of wine. Tonight Daou wines were on display. The food: Husband is very picky about what he eats and I am happy to say he loved his swordfish entree. I took a taste and it was delicious! The complimentary bread reminds me of Yorkshire pudding bread. Our appetizer was chicken potstickers on top of ramen like noodles and dressed in a Thai chili soy broth--delicious! I didn't really have an appetite, so I went with the Romain Cesar salad (my go to when it comes to salads). New to me is the outdoor patio where there were several tables of diners. This is where they have happy hour every day. The sign says Vin-Tiki lounge, where they have live music. Sounds like a fun time! I think the Lexus dealership has really upped their game with Vintana. It's been some time since we've visited, so it was nice to see that they still had many of their classics on the menu! If it's your first time here, Chef Deborah's pepita encrusted cheese board, mussels, and lobster mac n cheese never disappoint. We came to celebrate my 30th bday and my mom's 60th bday. Although tempted to order one or two of the above classic, we opted for our individual favorites - mine being the ahi stack with a side salad, and my mom's being the cioppino. The ahi stack was presented just how I remembered it - mango papaya salad, blue crab, ahi tuna, tobiko, and for me extra cucumber, no taro chips, and an addictive swet chili like sauce. Only thing is that this time the tuna seemed almost too "molded," almost like there was a thin layer of gel holding it all together, more sinue, or the pieces I got were not as delicate as I remember. Maybe it was a one off since every other time, it's been spot on. As for three cioppino, I did not mind the revamped the version and enjoyed the polenta cake that it is now served with! If I could, I would order a bowl of the broth ... that is how good it is. NOW, I'm not sure what happened but after our plates were taken away, I started feeling an allergic, tingly feeling on my lips and in my stomach. Typically this starts to develop when I eat peanuts or pinenuts, but based on the menu descriptions, we assumed there were neither present in the dishes. Maybe there was some cross contamination, or maybe there were one of these nuts in the cioppino's herb vinaigrette (also a new component I don't believe was on their previous version)? Regardless, I am not sure ... This just served as a good reminder to ALWAYS inform your server of any allergies before ordering, even if they don't ask like in our case. This review is for the happy hour menu. We could've ordered almost everything if we didn't have any restraint, but also this was our first time in the restaurant. Parking was easy; dining was outside with lots of shade. The service was great; everyone was so friendly. We didn't wait long for our food or drinks. They even split the salad for us individually. The portions were generous than what we expected for a happy hour menu so it was a really GOOD deal. We ordered the lobster bisque, mussels with a red curry sauce, farmers market green salad, and ceviche. They were all so delicious! All the flavors were present as stated in the menu but were balanced and subtle which we loved. Our favorites were the bisque and the mussels. The lobster bisque was delicate and creamy with a hint of lobster. The ceviche was a tad bit too tart but we still enjoyed it with the fried chips. For happy hour, I highly recommend this place. You drive to the top of the building with parking in the back just drive to the right and follow the signs to go up. It's a blessing they don't charge for parking. The ambiance is top notch with a view from the roof over looking Escondido. It's perfect for a special occasion. The service was pretty spot on. We were there for a celebration and wondered why we haven't been here since before Covid. Probably similar to the other reviews about the steaks. I had the ribeye and just expected something more tastier for $65. My wife said the pork chops were good. I agreed the crevice was very good from another review. The only reason I'm leaving 4 stars is because of how we were seated. Some of us had to basically crawl over the chairs to get to our seat. Love this location, just such a surprising spot for a nice restaurant. Have come for Happy Hour on the patio in the past, what a beautiful backdrop. This last time my husband and I split a chef's meal for two with a whole Branzino two ways, a side salad with yellow squash and risotto. Although the fish tasted good, there were so many bones you could hardly take a bite. The squash salad was weird, several people at my table tried it and didn't like it. The risotto was fabulous. The portions are great and the prices are on par with other locations. Will definitely be back, one disappointing meal doesn't account for a whole experience. Vintana Wine + Dine is known as the "modern elegance" in North County. I've always been curious about this dining destination and was excited to find out it was on the San Diego Restaurant Week list. I was ready to wine-n-dine! My GPS took me to a Lexus dealership but I saw the signage for the restaurant which reassured me I was at the correct location. The drive into the dealership was a little odd, but the good signage directed me to the parking in front of the restaurant. Suprisingly, it's located on the upper level of the stylish building. The first impression really matters to me so when the hostess at the reception area warmly welcomed me, I felt right at home. I didn't have to wait too long to be escorted to my table. As I walked through the restaurant, I was impressed by the beautiful decor and the romantic atmosphere. During my dinner, the servers were attentive and knowledgeable. Kevin, my waiter, had some good suggestions for the SDRW menu. The service from all of them was consistent like a well-oiled machine. My entree was exquisitely delicious...love anything braised and really loved the crunchiness of the vegetables but when it came to the dessert I was hoping it would be on the warm side. Wonderful experience from start to finish! We were welcomed by live music, a talented woman singing and playing piano, which set such a beautiful tone while we waited for our table. The ambiance is incredibly romantic, with dim lighting that creates the perfect mood for a date night or special celebration. We were seated on the patio next to a fireplace and stayed warm and cozy all evening. There was also a private party happening in a separate section with a DJ, which made it a bit louder at times, but honestly, I enjoyed the lively atmosphere and music. A huge shoutout to our server, Alberto, he was incredible. Friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. His service alone would make me want to come back again. For food, we ordered the sesame-crusted baked brie, kung pao calamari, half roasted chicken, seafood paella, and a side of red velvet cake--everything was delicious. The mocktail "Prickly Without the Pear" was a great as well, perfectly balanced, sweet, and tart. This is a really cool restaurant! It's situated on top of a lexus dealership! So you can come here expecting some awesome views because you're essentially on the 3rd floor of the complex. The restaurant is huge. Lots of tables and very spacious. The waitstaff were incredibly cool and polite. The ambiance wasn't loud but also not library-quiet. This is a perfect place for a date or a group dinner. Their house bread is really unique. It's basically a big hollow bread puff that's seasoned. Their steak is cooked perfectly well. It's tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We also got their sea bass which was amazing. I'd get this one again too. The fish was really tender and essentially fell apart. Super tasty and savory. Easy rooftop parking. I liked the vibe here. People dress up and larger parties are easily accommodated. We saw many tables of 6 or 8. We enjoyed an anniversary dinner here and they made it feel special with a card and dessert. The house popovers that they bring out by default with jalapeño butter are magical. Overall... fantastic. Let's start from the beginning. It was a friends birthday celebration. Six of us met at the bar for a drink prior to our 7pm reservations. Drinks were good, but boy howdy are they spendy. Our host checked us in for dinner at 7 and we were sat at 7:22. What's the point of a reservation if they make you wait. Was not a good first impression. While waiting we stood near what seemed to be an entrance to the kitchen. As you can see from the photo, there was a trolley with many desserts just sitting out. No idea why or what for, but it looked unsightly and made me question their sanitary food handling standards. Once seated things went smoothly. Our server was perfection. Really. She made all types of accommodations for us and made the evening go smoothly. The rest of the service team was also superb. All food arrived together and even though some of us were on the pre fixe restaurant week, three course menu and others chose from the regular menu (courses we're all messed up) it worked fine and that level of detail was appreciated. Tuna 9 out of ten Lobster bisque 10 out of 10 Chicken breast 8 out of 10 (one serving was dry) - the flavores were huge and fantastic Short ribs 9 out of 10 Ribeye 7 out if 10. Ordered MR came high end of medium but it tasted good. Pumpkin hummus 8 out of 10 Tomato bisque 10 out of 10 The desserts were hit and miss. Truffle was amazing. Choco brownie was stellar. The apple pie tasted store bought. Not bad, just meh. As the night closed we got the bill and it was no problem to split it. About $600 plus tip. They added a 5% charge, which when we asked, they took off. As you know, I am 100% against these charges. Make your prices reflect the cost of doing business. What a delicious meal! I think my favorite part was the lobster Mac and cheese - shredded lobster and very cheese Mac n cheese! In addition, the bread is so unique and yummy! For dessert, our server surprised us with a yummy red velvet cake. Throughout the meal, our server would come and ask us how we are doing and was amazing with answering our questions. When I heard that my work dinner was going to be held at Vintana, I was so excited; this restaurant has been on my list for a while now! First, location. Vintana is located on the third floor of a Lexus dealership, which is definitely an interesting and out-of-place feature. On the bright side, the venue is very large and easy to find. The parking lot is on the side of the building--just follow the signs leading up the structure. Now the restaurant itself is really beautiful. The ambiance is lively, gorgeous, and refined. It is truly a great spot for the vibes alone. You practically forget you're at a dealership (until you look outside, haha). With a place this nice, it should be no surprise that the service was similarly great. Our waiters were hustling to get our plates served and cleared. However, my colleague did complain that the bartender seemed to overlook her while she was trying to place an order. That being said, I wasn't there, so I can't speak much on this interaction. Finally, onto the review of the food! Unfortunately, this is where my review may get a bit critical. First, we had a charcuterie board laid out for appetizers. The meat selection was pretty solid, but the cheeses were very basic. The breads were too crispy for me, almost to the point of being straight-up crackers. Second, we were each served a popover (a type of bread that somewhat reminded me of a giant cream puff sans the cream). I liked the texture of this, and it was fun to eat. Sadly, it was slightly burnt, so all I could taste was char. Next, we had a salad with mixed greens, corn, croutons, and strawberries. I liked that the dressing could come on the side! The strawberries added a nice freshness to the dish, which was overall good but nothing crazy. For the main entree, we had a white fish and steak over a bed of asparagus and mashed potatoes. I loved the mashed potatoes, which were creamy and seasoned beautifully. However, the proteins were rather disappointing. The steak was very tough, so much so that I struggled to chew it. Although the fish was soft and flaky, the seasoning really threw me off. I'm not sure how to explain it, but my coworkers and I agreed that it was just a very odd flavor palette. Finally, dessert was a slice of red velvet cake. I am a dessert lover and by no means picky. That being said...I was still let down by this cake! And it takes a lot for me to be let down by a sweet treat. Visually, it was stunning, sure. But the flavor was rather tasteless. I kept taking a bite, but honestly, I was not tasting much of anything besides the strawberry sauce on top. The best part of this dish was probably the two dollops of cream cheese frosting. Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance and convenience of Vintana, but I was really disappointed by the food. I don't think I would go out of my way to return, but then again, I would be open to giving it a second try. read more

Cool spot over the Lexus dealer in Esco. Pretty nice upscale place that was poppin on a Saturday night. I went with a NY strip with a side of broccolini. Strip was cooked just how I like and super flavorful. I can't remember the sauce that came with it but it was good. The broccolini was also good I just prefer broccoli. Also had a wedge Cesar which was a great starter. Plenty of seating but it can be busy even if you have a reservation. Parking is at the top and generally there's always something open. read more

What an absolutely wonderful happy hour lunch experience on Sunday. The value alone was impressive--every entrée and drink was only $10!!! The food was a highlight. I'm allergic to seafood but my partner said the ceviche was fresh and bright, and the Korean barbecue wings were outstanding--flavorful, perfectly cooked, and easily a favorite at the table! I also enjoyed a non-alcoholic prickly (without the pear) drink, which was refreshing! We ended up ordering several items, and everything we tried was enjoyable and well prepared! Service, while just a tad slow, was completely understandable given how great the deal was and how busy they were. What really stood out was how friendly and kind the staff were throughout the meal. They offered great recommendations and made us feel genuinely welcomed, which more than made up for the slight wait. The ambience was a bit mixed. We loved the elevated view, but at the time of our visit, seating was limited to overlooking the dealership below, which took away slightly from the atmosphere. Located on the third floor above Lexus in Escondido, you couldn't ask for a more beautiful restaurant. The views, decor and all were spot on. Unfortunately the food said otherwise. We came in to celebrate 2 birthdays and this was our first time in. Our friends had been there a few times already. We learned that this menu was new and started about 3 wks ago. The staff were very friendly and service was mostly okay. I ordered the NY strip and asked to have it cooked medium rare. I even asked the server, do they cook it exactly on temp. And he said yes. Well when it arrived, it was way overcooked. The manager was making his rounds to see how everything was going and that happened to be just as I was cutting it and he apologized and had it re made. The temp on the second one was good but the steak was very chewy, lacked flavor and had a lot of fat for that kind of cut. And at that price point, I expected more. The lobster Mac was very good however. It was rich and had plenty of flavor. The short rib was tender but definitely needed more sauce. Some small pieces of detail include the following; we had to ask for a serving spoon for the lobster Mac and what came back was a normal or should I say smaller than normal spoon. It also was not served with any side plates. Water also was not refilled until dessert came out which was way after we finished ours. The last thing would be sunlight coming in from the windows was very blinding toward the end of our meal. I would recommend placing more shades or being more attentive on that matter. For dessert we ordered the mudd pie and the butter cake was a bonus for her birthday. I personally enjoyed the butter cake. It was soft and was rich in flavor. The mudd pie was served way too cold and we had a very tough time cutting it. It had good flavor however. I appreciate the front desk person who seated us first when a pushy lady arrived with her party after me stepped in front of me. but the front desk seated us first. We got a lovely table with view and the sunset was amazing. Kevin our server was very patient as he helped me select a wine to go with my filet mignon. I don't drink but he chose a red wine that was good. Husband got the tuna steak with garlic risotto which was so delicious. My filet was fantastic. Dessert was a cute delicious cake with an anniversary message. Double kudos to Kevin who noticed we left our card and chased after us to return it. Fabulous food, wonderful ambiance, fantastic staff. We came here for a late dinner on a Saturday night. The ambience is lovely, with a modern vibe. It's above a Lexus dealership which is kind of odd but parking was ample. Service was fast and friendly. They have a good wine list and they offer a taste before you decide on your wine selection. The food was delicious and the portions were large. We ordered a lot of food and there was plenty of leftovers. They also have Yorkshire pudding as your bread, which is very fun. This is a fun place for a date night or special dinner. Prices were appropriate. The lighting was bad for my photographs so the food actually looks way better. read more

Definitely not as popular as back in the days. A few friends and I went for Happy Hour and we dined inside to avoid the heat. I don't think it made a difference after all. The drinks weren't tasty so I barely touched both the drinks I ordered and I didn't want to chance a third drink. Our food was ok but nothing to rave about. Service was ok but they definitely messed up on our ice cream order. They put balsamic vinegar instead of chocolate syrup so the poor kids. lol. It was funny but.... It was nice to dine at a dealership which is different from your standard restaurant. read more

I've been a handful of times now and every time I've been, I've had great meals and great service. Yes this place is pricey so get your wallet prepared. However, they do have a great deal on Sundays called a Girl's Dinner and it's lots of good food, plus an alcoholic beverage. See my pictures for more info. It's a great deal and who doesn't like the idea of getting together with yo gurls for a yummy deal?! The location is a bit different, being it's on top of a Lexus dealership and that can be a tad intimidating but it's not. It's very chill ambiance, on the higher end so dress to impress. Or wear nice jeans with a cute top. Oh! And do ask what goes in what plate because the veggie pasta and hummus I got was SPICY! High Expectations, Lackluster Execution I really wanted to love this spot based on the menu and reviews, but the experience was a letdown. Despite arriving 15 minutes early for our 1:00 PM Saturday reservation, we were met with a lukewarm greeting from the hosts. The Service: It was a series of misses. Our wine took 25 minutes to arrive, and while our server mentioned a brunch menu, she never actually produced one--even after acknowledging it was missing. It took another 20 minutes just to place our order, and my water glass remained empty for the duration of the meal. Please also note they include a 5% additional fee for service and costs so this felt insulting. The Food: While the presentation was beautiful and "aesthetically pleasing," the flavors didn't match the visuals. The soup, salad, and fish and chips were all surprisingly bland. The Silver Lining: On the plus side, parking and signage are excellent, and the environment is great for large groups (if you aren't in a rush). They also have a solid "buy one, get one" deal on wine to-go. Verdict: Great vibes, but the service and kitchen need to find their rhythm. read more

This place is a hidden gem . If you've never been you've got to try it. It's upstairs of the Lexus dealership in Escondido. The hostesses are so nice along with the wait staff. The inside is beautifully decorated, and if you love wine this place has everything. The food is always good and tasty. Today I had the lobster bisque with a BLT for lunch. My soup wasn't very hot but full of flavor. Not worth complaining about cuz it was delicious Lots of room for guests inside & out. We ate inside due to the weather being overcast but the patio seating is great when the weather is good. Restrooms are always clean and the bar area is a great place to just meet up with friends and have appetizers. They also have a great Happy Hour! I highly recommend if you're looking for a nice place for a quiet date night or fun with friends. read more

Absolutely stunning dining room unassuming located off the freeway on top of a car dealership. The vibes are very upscale Cheesecake Factory meets modern chic winery. We went here for lunch, and we were able to choose from both breakfast and lunch options. Favorites from the table were the frittata and the shrimp lettuce wraps.
