When I first walked in, I thought I walked into a pediatrician's office. It has a very comfy, kid-friendly feeling. This was probably because their entire front office is dedicated to kids with toys and stuffed animals. They have a pretty large selection of glasses that range from normal to cool. The staff is also really nice. A staff member listened to what I was looking for and recommended some nice glasses for me to try. I think I'll be back to make a purchase. When I went to this place last year, it was a mediocre experience. I decided to park in their back lot so I didn't have to pay the meters in the front. The lot has obvious signs that indicate parking for patients of Dr. C only. As soon as I pulled into a spot, someone on the staff, who was standing in the doorway to the office, looked at me as if I was illegally parking. Anyways, when I got out of the car, the person immediate yelled/asked if I was there to see an optometrist. WTH? Yes. Why else would I park here? The experience with Dr. C was again mediocre. She seemed pleasant, but then she seemed super interested in WHY I had chosen to see her rather than another optometrist. I answered because I work close-by and it was convenient that they had parking. Apparently that answer did not satisfy her because she asked again WHY I chose her because there were much closer places to where I worked. Ok...? Thanks? I'll go elsewhere next time. Anyways, I finished with the eye exam and got my contacts and left. Fast forward to a year after my first appointment (today 1/27/2016): I get random call from the office saying my appointment tomorrow needs to be rescheduled because Dr. C is sick. BUT I DON'T HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TOMORROW. I remember very purposefully not scheduling one because I did not like how I was treated at my first visit. All in all, nothing at this place sat well with me: unfriendly staff, a doctor who was weirdly interested as to why I chose her, and an appointment that was forced upon me. An eye doctor is an eye doctor, right?! Wrong. Until you have been to a truly caring, thorough and competent Optometrist, like Dr. C, you do not realize how much an eye doctor can really do. The best story to illustrate how much Dr. C cares is that I was having a weird pain in my eyes and called her office number after hours. I left a message not expecting to get a call until they opened again. Within a half-an-hour I received a call back asking me if I could come in the next hour, on her day off, to have an exam! I often heard friends complain that their eye doctor constantly bully them into buying item through them- Dr. C and her staff have never done that. She also has given me free samples to make sure something is the right product for me- before I spent money at the pharmacist. My company changed their vision insurance, one Dr. C wasn't on, and I recently had to go to a different optometrist. Boy, what a night and day difference. I am confident the new doctor gave me the wrong prescription, something she dismissed when I questioned her. So, I am going to back to Dr. C and just paying out-of-pocket. She is extremely knowledgeable, very patient and treats every customer as if they were a part of her own family. Her Business ethics are impeccable and her kindness is unlimited. Possibly the friendliest and most professional service I've ever experienced. I'm honestly amazed by Dr. Cacciotti and her excellent staff. I showed up at Dr. C's without an appointment, without my health provider's vision card, blind as a bat after having broken my glasses, and frustrated, as several other doctors were only offering me appointments a week out. I was received by a super-nice person, I didn't have to wait long, I got a new prescription in no time, I got a great eye check up, I got consulted and got an excellent new pair of glasses... and it all just seemed right. I highly recommend this optometry office. Dr. Nakada gave me the most thorough eye exam in the 13 years I've been going to get my eyes checked (at different places trying to find an optometrist right for me. I can now say, I have found the place for my eyes!). The exam did last longer than all of the places I've been to before, but at the end, I felt like everything had been checked and rechecked for accuracy. The feeling you get when you walk in is very family oriented. There is a section for kids, and a pretty big seating area with lots of things to read and nice comfy chairs that you just sink right into (and not to mention little sweets to munch on). The staff are all great, very warm and welcoming. They don't make you feel like you're at a doctor's office, the atmosphere is very light and cheerful. Violet, who helped me pick my glasses and adjust them, has really good taste in helping me pick out glasses with the style I was looking for. Everyone here is so nice and helpful! I've been going here since I moved to LA about a year and a half ago. I actually found this place on Yelp and the reviews are dead on. I recommended Dr. C Optometry to my boyfriend and he likes them as well. They were quick and helpful. They have new up to date or better technology. I've always hated the glaucoma test machine where they shoot air into your eye. They have a new machine for that here. It doesn't make me cry anymore. These optometrists are FANTASTIC! I never thought I'd like an eye doctor so much, but the people here are efficient, friendly, and helpful. The woman who helped me pick out my glasses was honest (what is needed when one is glasses shopping solo) and told me all sorts of little tricks for glasses wearers! They also contacted me quickly, knowing I'd be going out of town and was hoping to get my glasses sooner. The doctor was great, and was kind enough to offer me methods of contacting her if I should acquire the dreaded pink eye (I work with children). Probably the best optometrist experience I've had yet...and that says something since I started wearing thick glasses the age of 9 . I'm so blind at 26 yrs old that I qualify for a full year's supply of contacts at no cost to me due to meeting the "medical necessity" req with my insurance provider. Obviously, what YOU qualify for depends on your own insurance, prescription, etc...but my point is that Dr. Nakada at Dr. C Optometry made it a point to let me know that I was eligible - that's some excellent customer service in my book! Been coming here since 2012 and I really enjoy the staff. I first met Dr. Nakada and she is so sweet and genuine. I see her once a year but she remembers me and that makes me feel like I matter. I'm not sure I can say much more about Dr. C and her entire staff that hasn't already been said in the other reviews. She's been my optometrist for around 15 years, but what she did for me today I can't thank her enough. Without warning, my retina started to tear. It was 11:30 a.m. I called Dr. C's office and explained what I was experiencing. I had no idea what was wrong. I was told to come right in and Dr. C would see me. As soon as I got there Dr. C diagnosed the problem and her staff immediately was on the phone getting me an urgent referral at the Doris Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. By 2 p.m. I was having laser treatment to repair the tear. Thank you Dr. C for seeing me on a moment's notice and getting me the urgently needed treatment in time to repair my retina before in became detached. read more

The equipment is state-of-the-art, and she is truly caring which puts my child completely at ease for her check-ups. The level of care here is exemplary! I do agree with another reviewer that the staff is laid back and they don't inform you if appointments are running a bit late - the solution: just ask them! Dr. C takes the time to give her full attention to each patient without rushing no matter how busy it is, and waiting 10-15 minutes past the appointment time is not unusual for any physician visit. Two stars for the overall experience. First the good: Dr C is a good optometrist. Now the bad: parking is very bad, as residential apartment development has taken many of the street parking spaces, and the tandem parking in the alley out back requires moving your car so that others can get their cars out. Metered street parking out front is shared with an adjacent dance/exercise studio, so parking can be limited when a dance/exercise class is in session. Additionally, we have always spent at least 2 hours overall, including waiting, eye exam, and selecting frames. Selecting frames can be a high pressure sales experience, which is done at the end of the exam, so the natural feeling is that you just want to leave because you have been there too long already. Sometimes it seems that the sales pressure takes advantage of this. My recommendation is to break the process into 2 visits: one for the exam, and the other to select frames so that you are fresh and more able to resist the sales pressure. read more
