My whole family has seen Dr. Nakada since 2010. She is very thoughtful and thorough. She always remembers everyone in our entire family, and she made my kids feel very comfortable getting their eyes examined. They weren't afraid at all. Her waiting area is like a living room, stacked full of interesting and unusual books which you rarely get to read because you never have to wait! Dr C is relaxed and very knowledgeable and really makes you feel comfortable. The prices are fair and well worth the exceptional treatment you get from Dr C and her staff. Violet, who helps you chose your eyewear is so patient and accommodating and usually suggests the frames you end up choosing. Everyone at this office is great - from Dr. C, to the opticians, to the front desk staff. We first started going here because our son needed glasses and they've got a wonderful range of kids' glasses (as well as a great selection of adult glasses at many different price-points). From the moment I walked into her office, I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the staff and the welcoming atmosphere of the office. Dr. C is a very skilled, committed and compassionate doctor who took the time to listen to my concerns and answer all my questions. Due to a certain eye condition, I have visited many doctors over the years. Let me just say that Dr. C is a rare gem - a truly intuitive doctor with a genuine interest in helping her patients. Within just a few minutes, Dr. C recommended something no other doctor had in the past 30 years which immediately improved the quality of my sight and eyes. I was truly blown away by this experience! I've been coming here since 2011 and generally had a great experience with Dr. Nakada. Staff is generally very helpful and friendly and I enjoyed the four years I had been coming here. The reason I am giving 2 stars is because of an experience I just had which has really soured my opinion of this establishment. I had my annual eye exam earlier this year. At the time of the exam, Dr. Nakada asked me how my contact lenses were working out and whether I needed more lenses. I said they were working fine but I didn't need to buy any more lenses at that time. Apparently, the doctor understood this to mean (without confirming with me) that I didn't want a contact lens prescription. A couple months later when I did need to buy lenses, I contacted the office to get a copy of my prescription. I was told that I didn't have a contact lens prescription and that I would have to come back and pay an additional $85 for a contact lens prescription (in addition to the $116 I had already paid for my eye exam -- which is what I paid in 2014 for an eye exam WITH contact lens evaluation). Why they thought I would not want a contact lens prescription simply because I didn't want to buy contact lenses from the office that day is beyond me, especially since I had been getting a contact prescription from them for years! Moral of the story - if you decide to come here for your eye exams, demand a copy of your prescription (for both glasses AND contact lenses) BEFORE you leave so that you ensure you got everything you came for. Otherwise, you may end up having to come back and pay extra for something that should have already been included. read more

I called Dr. C to schedule an appt, but unfortunately, due to all the 5 star ratings, she was quite busy. Unable to get back to me, she ended up calling me the following day. I had already went to see another ophthalmologist, but hadn't been given a solid diagnosis. Dr. C was kind enough to take time out of her schedule to consult with me over the phone. She then refereed me to a top notch diagnostician who was able to get to the root of my problem and prescribe the appropriate medication. Dr. C went out of her way to consult with me over the phone, then referred me to an amazing diagnostician and then even took time out of her Saturday to follow up with me to see how it went...all without ever meeting her face to face. This is clearly a doctor that does what she does for the love of the game and not necessarily for the money. If there were more doctors with the same morals and work ethic the world would be a significantly better place. read more

She was very thorough too. And her staff is very thorough, with that same attention to detail and focus just on me, without a sense of distraction by their workload. My son has been to many other optometrists, and could never get his contacts to fit comfortably; he went to Dr. C and got the most comfortable fit he'd ever found. I have been going to this place for some years and it always has been a good deal. I don't know what happened recently( last October 2015 to January 2016) but my glasses were not right. I had to ask two times for adjustment, the second time they asked me to wait and they forgot I was there, so I had to ask again. Later, I had to wait almost two month for the final correction. I have finally my glasses, but I an not willing to ask for their services anymore. Some friends of mine who recommended the place told me they recently had a similar experience. The explanation they received was that the Insurance had changed its policies. But this does not justify the mistakes and the delays. read more

Dr. C Optometry did a great job with my new glasses. My vision is clear and my eyes adjusted right way, even though it was a new and stronger prescription. I called several other optometrists before making a decision. All, including Dr C, were pretty much the same price range (except 2 or 3 higher priced outliers) but Dr C and her staff were stand-outs in addressing my concerns. For instance, I was overly worried about my prescription being exactly right since I was getting a much more expensive type progressive design and protective coating than ever before, so as a second opinion, Dr C gave me a thorough but low-priced vision test at my request, even though I'd already had one elsewhere. Then Violette reshaped my frames, which were too big. This was much more involved than the usual small, last minute adjustments, and made a real difference. (In fact she also reshaped extra pairs that I'd bought as backups in an online sale.) When Violette found out from the lens lab that I'd be better off with a somewhat more expensive progressive design than what I'd originally been quoted she didn't charge me extra for it. She was attentive, knowledgeable and skilled every step of the way. The rest of the staff were also very pleasant. Just to keep this from seeming an overly enthusiastic review (which Yelp guidelines discourage) I'll somewhat reluctantly mention that there was one noteworthy clerical glitch made by one of the clerical staff, which was taken seriously and addressed.
