Extremely Disappointing Experience With the LASIK Department…read more I am extremely disappointed with the way my LASIK surgery process was handled. As a soldier, I understand that medical procedures have strict eligibility requirements and that a patient can ultimately be found ineligible. What I do not understand is the way this situation was communicated and handled from beginning to end. Prior to my appointment, I was informed that the slight deviation in my eye could potentially result in disqualification. I understood that this was a possibility and was prepared for the procedure to be denied if the medical evaluation determined that I was not a candidate. However, after traveling approximately seven hours to the facility based on being told that my surgical packet had been approved, I was given a completely different explanation. Upon arrival, I was told that the deviation was not simply a potential disqualifying factor--it was apparently too severe for them to operate on. I was then informed that I would never be able to have eye surgery. That is an extremely significant conclusion to give a patient, especially after previously communicating something substantially different. If the condition was severe enough to make me permanently ineligible for eye surgery, that should have been clearly communicated before I was told my packet was approved and before I made a seven-hour trip. The only additional communication I received was an abrupt phone call from an optometrist who identified herself as Ms. Wang. The only instruction I was given was essentially, "Stop rubbing your eyes." I was not provided with a clear explanation of what had changed, why my previous information was different, or why I was suddenly being considered permanently ineligible. What was particularly frustrating was that the surgeon would not even speak with me directly to explain the decision. Instead, I was left dealing with an individual who was extremely argumentative and disrespectful in the way they communicated with me. Rather than treating me like a patient who was simply asking legitimate questions about a major medical decision, I was spoken to in a condescending manner, almost as if I did not understand the most basic concepts being discussed. I was not asking anyone to perform a procedure that was medically unsafe. I was asking for a reasonable explanation of why I was previously told my packet was approved, why the determination changed upon arrival, and why I was now being told that I could never have eye surgery. Those are completely reasonable questions for a patient to ask. The seven-hour drive made the situation even more unacceptable. This was not a minor inconvenience. I spent significant time, fuel, and effort traveling based on information provided to me by the department. If there were unresolved medical concerns that could result in permanent disqualification, those concerns should have been addressed before I was told I was approved and instructed to report for surgery. The biggest issue here is not that I was ultimately found to be a poor candidate for surgery. Medical professionals have every right to determine that a procedure is unsafe. The issue is the lack of consistent communication, the apparent change in explanation, the absence of a meaningful solution, and the disrespectful manner in which my questions were handled. I would strongly encourage the LASIK department to reevaluate how it communicates surgical approvals and disqualifications to soldiers. Patients deserve accurate information before traveling significant distances, and they deserve to have major medical decisions explained to them by qualified medical professionals--not dismissed, talked down to, or left without answers

I'm left crying over and over and this last time I couldn't even speak I felt so bad about myself from how horrible he was treating me. He had never cared about me and my health. Dr Rumery was the kindest doctor and truly cares and listened and wanted to help and always supported and wanted and found ways to help. From the first visit I was mistreated and I have anxiety days before each visit eith Dr Khan I have never been so mistreated. He is cold, doesn't listen forgets what he says he's going to do then lies. Years have gone by and my health has worsened because he brushed off my care. Dr Rumery warned me about him the surgery center did the ultrasound techs and I still was pressured. No one shoudk be mistreated, the way he treats patients. I have heard okther patients leave crying and yelling. Even a northbay patient. Northbay used to stand for compassionate care.. Dr Khan is not compassionate nor good care.. he is cruel, doesn't listen and truly affends people. Esp the truly disabled chronically ill. I've never been treated so badly. I've complained before nothing changed. He does it to me cause he can. I have nightmares. I can't see him again after what he just did to me recently I can't. He hung up on me after how bad he t treated me. Then he just hung up on me after belittling me. I feel less of a human and I feel uncomfortable and not safe with him with my care.. Northbay should care about their patients their have been so many complaints:( zero starts

From the very first visit, I was welcomed with genuine kindness and understanding. Throughout my treatment, I felt truly cared for--not just as a patient, but as a person. I received a combination of expert adjustments, decompression therapy, laser treatments, and shockwave therapy for persistent pain in my neck, shoulder, back, and knee. Now, I feel fantastic--better than I have in years! For so long, I limited my activities out of fear that the pain would return. Living with that constant worry was emotionally exhausting, and there were times I felt hopeless. Thanks to AIPM's genuine care, I am now able to enjoy life again and do things I once thought impossible. Dr. Tam and his team always listened to my concerns and made sure I felt heard every step of the way. I can't recommend them enough to anyone seeking relief. Yes, the consultation included a comprehensive (and admittedly costly) treatment plan, but after trying patches, medications, and even physical therapy with little success, I found that this was absolutely worth both my time and investment. The results began after just two sessions--my pain nearly vanished, and each appointment brought noticeable improvement. What's more, I don't even live in Vacaville or the surrounding areas. I traveled from Nevada and committed to a full two-month treatment plan. That's how much I believed in their care--and I'm so glad I did!
