I went to Dr. Dental in East Boston to see Dr. Jindal for a consultation about a restorative procedure. The front office waiting area was filthy, the floor covered in dirt, the chairs were dirty, and the walls had holes and cracked paint. I went into the exam area (no cleaner than the waiting area) and met with Dr. Jindal. We talked about the procedure, he never examined me, then he told me my insurance would not cover the procedure (which it did) and I would have to pay him $700 in cash for his services. Taken aback by his deceitful conduct, I opted for another professional to help me. HERE'S THE KICKER...I went to another dentist, and my insurance denied coverage for my teeth to be restored. I called my insurance company, and they told me that Dr. Jindal already performed the restorative procedure and filed a claim for payment. I was LIVID! Watch out for Dr. Jindal. I was attended right away by Dr. Jindal when I had some pain in my mouth! Great service and it was extremely fast to get an appointment.

Jindal (not worth adding doctor) was from the moment he walked in, absolutely clear that he was disinterested in my case. Before I had even begun my line of questioning in the "consultation appointment "He was already half way out the door. Though If I had more extensive work to be done on my teeth - more money of course- I'd bet he would have been on his knees praising me, which reinforces the perception that financial gain is the primary motivator for him. I'm glad the clinic managed to book me, which earned the one star. I was warned about this place. My wife had a similar experience with Jindal. She had an appt there and told me once she informed jindal she didn't have insurance- he was already out the exam room abruptly before she had even finished her sentence, only his money-grubbing scent of an odor was lingering in the room - leaving only an impression of his focus on monetary gain. He is the analogy of an "ambulance chaser" for dentist. We left that clinic with the impression that Jindal was being more concerned with financial benefits rather than providing genuine dental care for her. Furthermore, I guess the consultation and x-ray fee appeared to be of little significance to him, more like pocket change, which raises concerns about his integrity and dedication to patient care. Initially, I chose to withhold my negative feedback, take the high road, but after receiving a follow-up text requesting my thoughts on the experience, I felt compelled to share this review, so my comments was destined to warn others. I'll do my part for other potential clients to steer away of jindal who seems to have the interest of draining as much money off people if he likes you. So i would hope people will look elsewhere for dental service and expose jindal's true nature of why he became a dentist - because it's not treating people on a human level that's for sure - that is of course if you have potential money on his way". So, in summary I strongly advise potential clients to seek dental services elsewhere and consider Dr. Jindal's true motives carefully. In my opinion, his practice does not prioritize treating patients with respect and genuine concern unless there is a financial incentive involved. read more

They were rude. I had a tooth extraction and they wanted me to pay the 2000 for extra bone in my gums but I didn't have the money. They left me I. A room for 2 hours then pulled my tooth and told me to leave. That was it I had no real explanation as to what I should do when I get home they just pulled my teeth out that's all. They wouldn't give any pain medication except for Motrin. That's definitely no enough for what I just went through. Now I'm home mouth bleeding g and no pain relief AND they won't pick the phone up. Went the with a a toothache and the dentist suggested pulling I believe 8 of my molars out, at the time it was the only procedure my limited mass health insurance would cover so I thought it was a bit odd that I've never had pain before and it was only on one of them were I felt pain so I asked for a copy of the X-ray to get a second opinion and they made it sorta difficult to get it so I left it alone and forgot about it. It's now been almost 4 years since that visit and the pain never came back. The dentist said it would and with a lot more frequency and stronger pain and it simply never happened. If I could give them a minus star I would! This is a disgrace...my Mom is 83 her insurance paid for her to get implanted dentures (two posts on the bottoms and two posts on top) so the dentures would snap securely in and out. The tops are fine but the bottoms keep breaking. She can only eat soft food since she got them last year. She decided to use her old dentures in place of her constantly broken ones that scratches her gums and tongue...so all they had to do was order the implant connectors (tiny circles that snaps onto the post) the lab is in Quincy...it's been 3 weeks and it's still not here. I am very disappointed with my recent experience at Dr. Dental. I have been a patient there for many years and have previously left positive reviews. The dentists I have seen have all been good, and their services are reasonable. Although the office is not very new/maintained, I overlooked that piece because the dentists I saw always did a good job. On my last visit, I was charged for a full set of X-rays because Dr. Dental took them before the insurance would cover again. Despite me stating that I would not have wanted a full set if it wasn't covered by insurance, I still had to pay since the X-rays were already taken. I was not told this before services, and the person I spoke to stated that they should have shared this with me. This was unprofessional in my opinion considering it was their mistake. In addition, they had me listed twice in their records. I reported this MULTIPLE times before this incident, but I believe they looked at the wrong file when they made this mistake. The care and compassion here truly is amazing. I have a very complex dental condition and the staff at the Meridian Street Dr Dental went out of there way to help me and guide me in the right direction. Karina at the front desk is incredibly friendly and super personable. She made me feel comfortable right away. In addition I witnessed her interactions with children and was more than impressed. Shirley, the dental assistant, added to the welcoming atmosphere even more. She was helpful and compassionate. Dr. Jha was incredible. She broke things down for me and gave me the time and support I had been looking for. She is knowledgeable and intelligent. To add to that Dr. Jha is kind and patient. Brought my two kids to this office in the hopes that it would be better than our horrific prior experiences at Kool Smiles. Well they surpassed my expectations. They were friendly, curteous, timely, and the Dentist was excellent with my children. My 3 year old daughter cried throughout her whole experience 6 months ago. This past saturday's visit she barely shed a tear. The Dentist was so calm and showed her exactly what she was going to do. I went to get a consult for a root canal. My appointment was at 8:30am, and when I arrived at 8:15, the office was locked and no one arrived until 8:20am...the office is supposed to open at 8am. Fine. They took in 2 other people before me, I was finally seen about 40 minutes after my scheduled time. The place did not look clean. While the doctor seemed very nice, I would not feel comfortable having dental surgery there. Although they did quote me about half the price of another dental office for the whole procedure. They market themselves as affordable dentistry, which is why I originally booked the appt. But....there are some things I am willing to pay extra for. Like cleanliness and comfort while I'm receiving oral surgery... I did not return for the procedure. I would not return for anything. read more

I went in for a routine cleaning with a little pain on the right side of my mouth. I was then told I needed a root canal on my left side in addition to 4 to 5 fillings. Considering I was not feeling any severe pain, I was incredibly skeptical. They showed me the x-rays and insisted my tooth was rotted down to the nerve and told me to go as soon as possible to a different office in Malden with a recommendation to look for a root canal and "do the needful." I went for a second opinion and the diagnosis I received at East Boston was laughed at. I was told I did not have any cavities and the discomfort I was feeling was explained by sinus pressure on very deep roots. I am incredibly disappointed at what feels like either a scam or complete incompetence on East Boston Family Dental Center's part. Let me start by saying that I absolutely hate writing bad reviews!!!! I had been going to this Dr. Dental location for years. I had an amazing dentist! She worked during her pregnancy but unfortunately didn't return after the birth of her child. I had no prior knowledge of my dentists departure upon showing up for my next appointment. I got a dentist that was unfriendly and rushed through everything. I just chalked it up to her having a super busy or bad day. A few months later, I had a teeny filling in my front tooth fall out. I made an appointment to have it refilled. Well, I ended up in the hands of the same dentist as my last visit. She told me she would not fill it unless I bought a $375 mouth guard from her because it was just going to fall out again. I asked if I could just buy one at Walgreens or CVS. probably the worst dentist i have ever been to in my life. never in my life have I had a cleaning done and the dentist not even use floss. the total time spent cleaning was ten minutes or less, they also lied and said I have a cavity. it is sad that in dentistry the dentist have their own standards as to what a cavity is. I went there today with my husband and 14 year old son. It was thee best experience I have ever had at a dentist. We were greeted by the 2 receptionists with warm genuine smiles. They gave me paperwork to fill out and it was a couple pages long but you only fill out the highlighted areas which is super easy. We all had the same dental hygienist her name I think began with an L (ugh I hate when I can't remember!). She explained everything she did and was really gentle. She was pleasant and had an awesome personality. I had Dr. P who was pleasant and gentle, he explained everything that was wrong and the best plan of action to the best suit my needs. You can clearly tell that he really does care. We already have another appointment tomorrow for my son and I know he is in good hands. I can't say enough great things about them!!! read more

Worst dentist experience ever. The Indian dr was horrible. When the xray came out, he asked if any of my teeth hurt, I told him no, he asked if I'm sure, I told him sure, however I did mention I know I need root canal on 1 tooth. He just had to knock on my teeth with his equipment. I was so pissed! I told him it would hurt anyone if he hit it with a medal, & on top of it I already told him. AND there were more! I had a feeling to get up & leave I don't know why I didn't. I wish I did. It took him 5-7mins to clean my teeth, he didn't bother to floss. I know there are more then 1 doctor at this location, I wish I saw someone else. He is the reason I will never come back! I appreciate the receptionist very much as they always find a way to accomodate my needs whether its a routine follow up or an emergency. Dr. Z is an amazing dentist who always explains things thoroughly,effectively, and most importantly, with honesty! THIS IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL OFFICE ! I will not by any means recommend anybody to be seen here. The staff is very unprofessional. The lady in the front , her name is Lydia, was very rude to me. She looked real irritated and did not look very pleasant to check in with. She did not make eye contact with me and did not have a smile on her face. I immediately thought this was probably not going to be a good experience. But i gave it the benefit of the doubt. On top of that, my appointment was scheduled for 3 pm. However, I did not get seated until 3:45. When I asked Lydia why I was still waiting, she said to me: "They'll be right with you" . She did not apologize and still, she did not have a pleasant demeanor about her. In my opinion, She should NOT be in the front because she will drive patient's away- like she did me. I finally got called, and overall the cleaning experience was brief. I saw Dr. Mirror for my cleaning (not sure of that's how you spell his name) and he was nice. However, i felt like he was rushing through my cleanings. I felt as though i didn't get enough time to ask him question regarding my oral health. The assistant, Max, seemed to be real attentive to me and providing me with answers which was real nice of him but I would rather trust a dentist's word over an assistant. Overall, this office is poorly managed, poorly conducted. The rooms were not too private and it was too much chaos. I guess you get what you pay for- $57. I will NOT be going back to this dentist office and i certainly do not recommend anyone to go there. read more

This is the most ignorant dentists I ever experienced in my life. One of the dentist started a root canal, she told me to come back in two weeks, then she went on vacation and she forgot that she didn't finished my root canal, she forgot that I have a temporarily tooth on, but that's not the worst part of the whole situation, that temporarily tooth was so bad that it came of wen I was rinsing my mouth. I called about ten times no one even answer the phone, a week later I finally got in touch with them, they said that there's no way that other dentist was going to finish a work that someone else has started, but the best was the attitude that the person who was talking to me, like everything I was going through it was my fault, I don't want anything free, if you are going to charge someone, for something, at list try to be professional, if I pay for some thing like that I expect to be well executed.
