This was my second time hiring Dr. Downspout to clean my gutters, and I'll keep going back to them. Easy scheduling, friendly and prompt customer service (note: make an appointment earlier in the rainy season...once those gutters start overflowing, these guys are booked!). Ben and his partner showed up and took care of the gutter cleaning and inspection, including replacing a cracked rubber rain boot that my roofing inspector noticed, while they were up there on the roof. Last time they were out two years ago, Ben cleaned the lint-clogged dryer vent that was way up high. For free! He also noted that our cheapo mass-installed gutters were starting to rust in places and might need replacing in the future. Now that is what I call going above and beyond customer service. I called them in for a gutter cleaning assessment on a 1927 cottage with recessed gutters. They determined that the system was mostly in good shape, but there were some gaps in the gutter coverage and some underground downspouts that could get clogged with leaf debris from some nearby fir trees. A few weeks later, they had installed a few feet of new gutters to fit the gaps, added debris traps to my underground downspouts and fixed the piping, zinc treated the roof, and cleaned a ton of fir tree debris out of our gutters. All for a reasonable price! They also gave me plenty of good tips and advice on how to clean my own gutters in-between professional cleanings! All in all, I was very impressed! read more

I've worked with Dr. Downspout in the past and they were terrific. I needed them again and it took them a few weeks to respond to my initial inquiry. Then they came out and took photos for a new downspout installation that runs underground. I waited a couple weeks to get the estimate, got it (and the price seemed fair), but had a question. I quickly emailed my question and didnt hear back. Another week went by and I sent it again. I called. I left voicemails. I called and called and emailed and emailed over a month and never heard back a peep. no answer from their main number, no response in my inbox. NOTHING. So what gives? I get the Xmas and New Year's holidays and having a bit of a delay, but its been about five to six weeks and no response? Your lack of response has cost you business. read more

Recently spent some time with my mother in Portland. She was having some issues with her gutters clogging and water flowing over onto her porch whenever it rained. I got on the roof and found the gutters were just chock full of old leaves and garbage. Called Ben with Dr. Downspout, he answered promptly and was a pleasure to speak with over the phone. He set an appointment same day and came out to the house at the agreed upon time. Ben was awesome - showed up on time, took good care to clean and repair the gutters, and even fixed a few loose board up under the eves while he was there. Called to get an estimate to replace some facia boards and re-slope a couple of gutters. Ben came out and looked at the gutters and was worried that the job was too big for him. I then asked him if he could give me a quote for the smaller of the two and he said yes and that he'd email it to me. A week later, nothing. I called and he apologized and said he was busy and that he'd send me a quote. Finally he sent me a quote which said "Correct rain gutter slope issues by removing and reinstalling the existing gutter. We will be prepared to replace the fascia board on the porch area if able. This would increase the price by 75.00." I accepted the quote and the job was scheduled but they never came out. I called their office, but they never got back to me. Very unprofessional. read more
