Received an appointment for an estimate on 7-25, with a window of arrival of 12:30 to 2. He arrived at 6:45. Asked for and was told I would receive an estimate for cleaning, after an inspection of gutters. Emailed on 8-1 to see if I should contact someone else to get this done, because no email or estimate was sent yet. Still no reply as of morning of 8-3. read more

I had my chimney swept last year without much thought about who I used and it was an icky experience, a bit overpriced, and I felt like it just wasn't something I wanted to repeat. I asked for references and that took me to Chutes N' Ladders. I had a few phone calls and received lots of good advice, unfortunately life was so busy I never got someone on site to check things out. Then summer happened and we forgot about the chimney. Fast forward to today and I wanted to get out ahead of the rush so I booked an appointment early in the month. The wait was worth it. Professional, courteous, kind, pleasant, and efficient are words that come to mind when describing the experience. This is a company doing business the right way. It was actually cheaper than before, and I'm confident that I'm good for another season of wood fires. I can see how some might place a premium on availability to schedule and punctuality. I, myself, being time challenged, give large allowances for what I'm sure is a tremendous challenge that a small business would face servicing customers in a broad geographic area. I think a chimney sweep is more than just a one-and-done transaction like buying a burger. I prefer a company who will take care of me over several years even if it requires me to be proactive about scheduling and flexible about arrival time. read more

We were unsure of the status of the chimney in the rental we just moved into and the owner called Chutes and Ladders to inspect and clean the chimney if necessary. After the inspection it was determined that a cleaning was not necessary so the cost was just for the inspection. He noted that there was not a cap on the chimney and he had one he had just removed from another fireplace so he installed it. He came back a couple of days later with a new cap because one of the screws on the used one did not suit him, no extra charge. Great Service. read more

Had them repair gutter then clean all gutters in March 2023. With first major rain October 2023 gutter once again is tearing away from roof. Jeff did not show up for scheduled appointment to take a look. Now I cannot even get a call back from multiple messages and emails. read more

It was easy to get a fair quote through the Yelp system, great communication from the company, on time and friendly services... and the best part is that our gutters actually work again! Amazing. I've had a landscaper clean our gutters for a couple of years and they never seemed to work so we thought they needed replacement, perhaps they just weren't being cleaned properly. This company is very professional, kind, reasonable & competitive pricing, and most of all, they do FABULOUS work Honey Chile! Mmhmm. We had work done on our chimney, dressed it up with a nice topper (I can't remember the technical name) and did some repair on the inside of our fireplace. We also hired them to repair and clean our gutters. They were not like other companies that I'd called for estimates that tried to sell us what we didn't really need. In 2020, they cleaned and inspected my chimney. Since I was pleased with the results and their responsiveness, I called them in late May to schedule a cleaning of our disgusting gutters (seedlings and weeds were visible from below). Ours is a two-story house with gutters all over the place. Jeff just finished. He did a great job, cleaned up after and was done in under an hour. PS: The invoice was exactly as quoted, though I think the charge for our embarrassing gutters could have easily been more (please don't tell them that). ;-) read more

I've hired Chutes N' Ladders twice now, once to inspect and clean my gutters, and another time to inspect my chimneys. Both times the guys were punctual, knowledgeable, friendly, and were all-around just great to work with. The fellow who cleaned the gutters in the fall went out of his way to move my patio furniture that was close the eaves, so it wouldn't get dirty while he cleaned the gutters. And he stacked it all neatly for me to put away for the winter. Very helpful! Jeff (I think) looked at the chimneys and said they were safe to use, but didn't need cleaning yet. Awesome! He recommended capping them, which I was glad to do, as I needed a way to keep out the pesky bird who last year nested in the chimney! Jeff had the materials on his truck to cap the chimneys, and the work was done really fast. No bird nest this spring - yay! Gutter cleaning. Easy to schedule, good price, showed up on time, did the work correctly and then didn't charge me for part of the cleaning because there wasn't much to clean in those areas. Did some minor repairs as well. Only minor issues. Some of the detritus from the gutters was left on the ground in the garden. Some of the repaired leaky areas didn't hold. Chutes and Ladders was great to work with. We had three bids, and theirs was the fairest. I didn't get the sense they were trying to oversell us in the least. Although they did take a bit to get back to us after my initial request for an estimate, they did get back before we had made a decision and I'm so glad they did! After getting back to us the first time, however, Gina was very prompt in communication throughout the process. The work was done on time and as quoted. Joe was spectacular! Very polite, prompt, and friendly. When he finished doing a great job on our chimney, I asked him if he could quote me on another small job. He ended up fixing it right then and there for me! This is our "go to" business for cleaning our gutters. I thought we might need gutter work but their workman not only cleaned the gutters but also made sure they were attached firmly to the house.
