It is my pleasure to review Great Northwest Gutters. We had asked for recommendations from a trusted contractor for a gutter company. They told us that they only use Great Northwest Gutters. We had a few issues with the gutters that were installed when we bought our house. Two of the corners on the house were not draining at all and during storms would dump water in sheets - one just outside our backdoor. In addition, several corner seams were rusted and leaking through. We called to schedule a (free) estimate on a Friday and on Monday morning Austin showed up at 9:00 am. We walked around the house and talked about how to fix various problems - adding a downspout from the second story to the first floor gutter, moving downspouts avoid excess water across shingles, etc.The next day Austin had emailed us a quote with choices: aluminum or steel, square or round corrugated downspouts and color choices. We went with steel, corrugated and black. The very next day two crew members, Reynolds and Nahum, showed up on time with their truck. Both Reynolds and Nahum were professional, courteous and very conscientious. Whenever they had a question they would find my wife or myself and get an answer before proceeding. They took down the old gutters efficiently. Once all of the gutters were down they vacuumed up the resulting mess: mud, leaves and debris.After that was done, they began manufacturing custom lengths on site for the house. Ours is a two story house with 30' plus runs and multiple corner returns. Reynolds and Nahum had no problem with any of it and were able to move from one section to another with no lag time. At the end of the day, we had new, beautiful gutters installed.They cleaned up everything from the project including the screws from the disassembled old parts from the driveway. All the seams were tight, caulked and perfectly fitted, including a bit of custom downspout work feeding directly into our rain barrels. Reynolds and Nahum are truly top notch professionals. We had old, leaking gutters replaced on our 1 story home and adjacent shed. Our service team of Reynolds and Nahum did an excellent job and the gutters look great. It went VERY fast and they were so pleasant to interact with - that counts a lot for me, so I hope they receive the recognition they deserve, as I don't usually take the time to post reviews. For our estimate, we had specific requests, and had to have some minor fascia work done by a different company, whom Great NW referred us to, but once all that was squared away, scheduling was prompt, had great vibes from the crew who did the work, and everything was thoroughly cleaned up. These are my go-to guys now! Joe responded promptly to my first inquiry and to any calls after that. I appreciated that he took the time to educate me about gutters and downspouts and then didn't upsell me at all, just told me what I needed to have done. I believe that you can tell a lot about a company by how well they recover when things don't go as well as planned. This is why I'm giving a five-star review to Great NW Gutters. I was initially disappointed by aspects of the new gutter system installed by Great NW Gutters; but management went to great lengths to not only "make it right" - but to go above and beyond to "make it even better." I understand that this sounds funny in reference to gutters: but in the end, they ace'd the recovery and demonstrated phenomenal ownership and care for their clients and for their reputation. Gutter cleaning and repair. Good work and fast. Five stars there. They seem to want to make it as difficult as possible to pay them though. They don't accept PayPal. In very tiny print on the bid, they say there's a 3% fee for credit cards. Fine. I asked if she was ready to take my card information. Then she says they don't accept Discover. I requested large gutters on our home, because we only have 4 downspouts. I was told the house wouldn't support bigger gutters, which was a lie. I've had nothing but trouble anytime it rains. They most likely didn't have the equipment to make the larger ones. When I called to complain, the manager got real affended and accuisatory. With the current rain causing a mini niagra falls, I'll be making another call to complain AGAIN. read more

Things did not go well with this business. The job was to replace all the downspouts and two gutter sections in my house. First, they showed up late. We had the job scheduled for a Friday, and close to noon they had not arrived yet. I called the office and they said the crew was on their way and that they would be at my house in 1 hour. They arrived over 2 hours later. Second, in order to install some downspouts, they had to remove a couple of boards from my deck. After installing the downspouts, they told me that they did not have a saw to cut out the excess on the deck boards. So I had to do the cutting and re-attaching myself, even though the estimator was well aware that a couple of cuts had to be made to fit the wider downspouts. He even mentioned this to me explicitly when he did the estimation! Third, after the work was "finished," I thought they had done a good job after all. However, after they left, I noticed a huge problem with the installation of the gutters. They had failed to build the gutters with the 'wing' that goes under the roofing materials. This is very important for the type of roof I have because it acts as flashing that protects the roof deck from moisture, and also to prevent the gutter from leaking. In addition, and for the same reason, the gutters were about one inch lower than the rest of the gutters around the house, which looked pretty bad aesthetically. I called the office and they sent a repair specialist who agreed with me and concluded that the installation was botched. They scheduled a re-install of the gutters a week later. After the re-do, I believe the gutters are now properly installed. In addition to the issue above, I also noticed poor attention to detail, e.g., gobs of sealant inside the gutter which affects water flow, forgotten parts and tools. Not very professional. I do not recommend this company and I would not use them again. read more

Ok, our older home needed new gutters a couple years ago and I got a few quotes. The important part was a guard. We have an over 80 ft cedar tree out from that lays down a significant amount of detritus. Several season of needles, one very heavy, sap, yellow sticky pollen is ridiculous amounts as well as the "flowers" that look like banana slugs. Oh and huge cones. One year our old gutters were clogged over 4 inches on top...then frozen rain...that stank. Often they clogged and caused roof leaks and overflow into the flower beds below. Nightmare after nightmare. Anyway, I was super hesitant to go with a gutter guard as so many sites mention they don't always work on tree needles. The fine folks at Great Northwest Gutters Gabe me a fair quote and slapped up a new system in no time. Since then, aside some build up on top of the guards that I knock down about once a year (with a stick in 10 minutes) all has been well. Yesterday my yard guy was getting the moss off my roof and offered to clean the gutters. The attacked picture is 3 years since these were installed with no previous cleaning. Unbelievable. We recently had our gutters replaced and added the gutter guards. Matt was the estimator. We found Matt to be friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He walked us through the process and explained the what and how. I tend to be a bit of a researcher and had lots of questions. Matt answered all of them. Did I also mention he has a lot of patience. We enjoyed having Matt at our home and were very comfortable that we knew what was going on and why. Josh had us scheduled and said if someone canceled he would move us up. The next day I realized our schedule was the one day (of course) we had an issue with. Called Josh explained the situation and he immediately met my second choice with no problem. Thank You Josh. Then there is the duo of Edgar and Mario. They showed up on time (actually a bit ahead of time). They were also friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We requested three quotes on gutter/downspout replacement. Since the neighborhood had many large leafy trees, we needed 'gutter guards', also. One of these contacted was Great NW. Great NW offered the most terrible service, I have encounter in a long while. Example- I called on a Friday (no answer, left the above message). My wife said, "it's Black Friday", so the office might be closed, so I called back on Sat and left the message again to several extensions, asking to be phoned. Monday came, nothing happened, so I called again, about noon. Finally got to talk to a person, who took our info and said they would come out to give and estimate that Friday. I thought we were done, but wait. Someone called at 3PM on Wed and seemed confused, so we talked thru what we wanted and I again thought we were clear. Guess what? They never stopped by. We received a call on Friday indicating they had done a "drive by" and the quote was $$$ but NO INDICATION of what was included in that quote. We had to call to find out the quote was just for gutters, not downspouts or gutter guards. Obviously, we went with another company. read more

Rather than doing our own research, we went with this company since it was recommended by the company that installed our metal roof. Great NW Gutters has done many projects after metal roofs were installed and understood the nuances. This seems to have worked out well. I spoke with a few different people getting things set up, and they were all helpful and friendly. Our roof installation happened a month and a half earlier than planned, and Great NW Gutters set up a new install time without complaint. I feel like they made an effort to give us a good price. The gutters look fantastic. If it ever rains again, we will know if their performance lives up to their looks. We were disappointed that the crew was a bit careless placing their ladder. They damaged our brand-new fascia near the front door, and we watched in horror from inside as they climbed a ladder that was placed against our window! I think the crew leader was doing his best, but he couldn't watch the trainees every minute. But the work looks first rate, and they did a thorough job of cleaning up. Would recommend. read more

We had a full gutter and downspout replacement done by Great NW Gutters on our vintage 1930's house. The bid was clear and they answered all my questions. The crew that came out to do the install were professional (on-time, cleaned up), friendly (explaining things) and practiced good social distancing (Corvid 19). We needed to tweak the installation once they were on site. The crew proposed an alternative to complete the work and even had someone come back out to the job site from the office with some additional parts that were going to be needed because of the modification. We had a solid stream of water pouring down the front door. Why?!! Major freakout ensued at our house. Oh man, are we gonna have to replace the whole front porch? Maybe even the whole roof? One theory was the gutter downspout that dumped directly onto the roof right above the soffit. Great Northwest Gutters were quick to provide a reasonable estimate, and scheduled a date to do the work within the next week. They moved the downspout and cleaned out all of the gutters on our two-story house. Done and done. The next time it poured buckets, I opened the door and - like magic - no drippy streams! Not knowing at all about this company, I had first called another local roofing company that I was familiar with but had never used before. Their office staff was very pleasant but execution and follow-up were terrible - because they "no showed" to our appointment twice. I could go on but this is a review of Great Northwest Gutters. So I was still bitter about the other company while I was driving to an appointment for my work (I'm in outside sales) and I happened to drive past a truck that said 'Great NW Gutters' on the side. I figured that since I struck out with a roofing company, I would try these guys because their name suggests that they must be all about gutters. I decided to call them for a quote. I was refreshed that they were quick to come out, provide an estimate, and schedule the install upon my acceptance. They scheduled me in within 2 days, and the work was very good although I had noticed one thing after install that needed to be finished up a little bit more but they came right out, took care of it, and without any hassle. Thank you for getting the job done well and for making everything right. While my job was only doing partial gutters, I won't hesitate to call them for the rest of the house when I'm ready for that. read more

We had one 8-foot section of gutter that was sloped the wrong way and would not drain. Over the years, I tried to get three people (roofer, siding installer, handyman) to re-slope that gutter, but they said it was not possible. It finally rusted out. I called one gutter company who said they could replace that section for their minimum price ($400) but could not promise to re-slope it, so the problem would not be resolved. Then I called Great Northwest Gutters, explained my problem, emailed photos, and got a quote back by email. Their employee showed up on time, was very polite, installed a new gutter and downspout, and RE-SLOPED the gutter so it is finally right. In order to change the slope, the installer simply extended the flashing. Their minimum price was a bargain at $295. If we ever need new gutters for our whole house, we will call Great Northwest Gutters. read more

Had Great NW Gutters install complete gutter system on our house. Several obvious mistakes were noticed and they agreed to come fix them. Then we noticed more mistakes, notified them, but the individual who came out to perform the repairs claimed those were not mistakes but were supposed to be that way. We called several other gutter contractors in the area, described the issues and showed them the photos of the mistakes, to get a second opinion. All looked at the photos and said Great NW Gutters need to fix their very obvious installation structural mistakes, and if they don't, they should be reported to the CCB. Only after we called Great NW Gutters again and mentioned reporting to the CCB did they come out and fixed the problems. We hope their upper management/ownership investigates why some of their customers have these issues with their crew's workmanship and customer service. We would have really liked to be one of the customers to give a 5-star review for this company, but, unfortunately we were not the lucky ones. read more
