I sought out a CoolSculpting center that primarily focused on CoolSculpting and used their newest technology - CoolSculpting Elite - and stumbled upon Dr. Freeze CoolSculpting Center in Irvine, CA. I believe the company's name is actually "Time Unwind," and "Dr. Freeze" is the brand they use for their CoolSculpting service. On May 31, 2022, I had my initial consultation with Angel. He was very friendly and thoroughly explained what CoolSculpting is and then reviewed my problem areas that I wished to have treated. He used a marker to mark on my body where the applicators would go. Then he went over the packages offered and recommendations for me. He also recommended EmSculpt in addition to CoolSculpting. I purchased eight CoolSculpting sessions (treatment cycles). He said I could use the treatment cycles how I wished, but that each applicator applied to the body counted as one treatment cycle. I requested to use their advertised 0% financing; however, he told me that they could only provide financing to me if I paid "full price" for the treatments, so I paid with my card to receive the "discounted pricing" for purchasing eight sessions. To be noted, I have never seen nor been introduced to the physician who works there. The morning of June 2, 2022, I had my 1st flanks appointment with the technician Julie. Disposable shorts and tank tops are provided so the gel does not get on your clothes. Then several photos are taken to track progress. Julie struggled quite a bit to get the curve applicators to properly suction to my body; however, she made the experience comfortable and she was fun to talk to. The evening of June 10, 2022, I had my 1st appointment for my lower abdomen with Julie. I was told that the CoolSmooth applicator was used because I have a small amount of fat on my lower abdomen. This applicator takes longer because it doesn't use suction like the other applicators. On August 31, 2022, I had my 2nd flanks appointment at lunchtime with Julie for my flanks. There was another technician assisting her as well. I was instructed to lay face down in the chair. I noticed the sheets and pillowcase were not changed and had a significant amount of gel on them from previous customers, so I mentioned it to the technicians, and they changed them for me. Due to the medical nature (and high cost) of these treatments, sanitary sheets and pillowcases are an utmost necessity. My appointment was scheduled for 12:15pm; however, both technicians struggled for over 45 minutes to get the applicators to properly suction on my body. They changed the gel pads three times for each flank since they were struggling so much. I flipped in various positions per their instructions, and I was covered in a significant amount of gel by the end. After much struggling, Julie asked me if she should use a smaller applicator. I told her I would go with what she recommended so they switched to smaller applicators and changed the gel pads again. It took a couple more attempts, but suction was finally achieved. I returned at 5:00pm on August 31, 2022 for my 1st outer thigh appointment. There were three technicians in the room with me. Angel was the one who marked my thighs and applied the applicators. The applicators were applied fairly seamlessly and without a lot of struggle. On December 9, 2022, Rachael was my technician for the second treatment of my lower abdomen. She used the smaller applicator rather than the CoolSmooth applicator, which was used the first time. The applicator was applied successfully the first time. Rachael also mentioned their membership offerings and other treatments, such as Botox and microneedling, which were never previously mentioned during my previous visits. Unfortunately, I have not noticed any changes to my body after these eight treatments. I am 34 years old, 5' 3" and weigh ± 130 lb., with an athletic build. I work out an average of five days a week and have maintained a pescatarian diet since 2006. Since we are planning our wedding, I have even increased my awareness and been stricter with exercising and clean eating. I was told I was the perfect candidate for these treatments; however, these treatments did not seem to work for me. (The side/waist line) It feels like holding ice to your skin, and a really good suction! After the 35min of freezing, it's removed and they have to massage the area to break up the fat so it's easier metabolized. This can be a bit uncomfortable. Just flex, close your eyes and hang in there! (The flanks were A LOT more sensitive than the abs were.) You're set up in a pretty comfy chair with Netflix. Bring some snacks, water, a book, your phone, headphones, some socks, and you'll be fine! The areas treated were sore for a few weeks... getting better each day that went by. But the whole process is non invasive, so you can get up, get dressed and go do as you please immediately after. I saw my peak results in about 8 weeks. Even though I'm devastated that I did not get the results I wanted after wasting $7000, I feel like you are treating your employees in a very unreasonable and unethical manner. When I was asked to post a 5 star review on Yelp, Rachael gave me a laminated guide sheet to detail what I needed to put in my review in order to get the B12 vitamin shots that would "help achieve my results faster". The laminated guide looked professional and was not something Rachael put together herself, it seemed like she was just following a process from management. If you are trying to prove a point to an unsatisfied customer by waving someone's job/livelihood - in this case, the two employees who were obviously just following protocol (that you created), then I'm appalled by how you run your business. I hope your employees find a better place to work at, since you are entertaining their termination - based on actions they took to support business practices that you created for them to follow. Here are my responses to your "copy and paste mitigation response": "The fat reduction with CoolSculpting occurs over 6 to 12 weeks. This gradual reduction means patients who examine their bodies on a daily-basis tend to underappreciate the changes that have occurred because they are observing them as a series of subtle incremental decreases in fat." - I received the second round of treatments during late January 2021. I waited until mid May 2021 to post an honest review of my experience. This timeframe is more than 12 weeks. I'm aware of "gradual reduction", which is why I proactively measured the areas I wanted to treat back in November 2020 and did a final measurement in May 2021. No change. "CoolSculpting only reduces 20-25% of the targeted fat with each treatment and only targets the subcutaneous (pinchable) fat cells. As a result, the improvements achieved with a single round of CoolSculpting can be accurately described as "subtle" - and it typically takes at least 2 rounds of CoolSculpting on the same fat bulge to achieve a noticeable and satisfactory outcome. This is why all of our Dr. Freeze CoolSculpting packages come standard with two rounds of treatments on the same targeted areas." - I did two rounds of treatments in the same targeted areas. My initial consultation was scheduled with Julie via Zoom/ on a Friday afternoon. She was able to answer questions and fit me in for an in-person evaluation fairly quickly ( the following Tuesday) and was very accommodating with my work schedule (she was willing to see me at 7pm) My in-person impression of the office and location was good. The front desk girl was very nice. The facility appears to be very clean and well kept. Julie was the sweetest, we talked about what areas I like to see improvements on and she provided her recommendations on what she felt that areas didn't need any attention, and areas she recommends for treatments etc.,  but I didn't feel pressured into purchasing the treatments.
