TOTAL BOTCH JOB!!!! Stay away from this place like the plague unless you want to have your lips totally blotched and then be treated like a POS. I went here to get some juvaderm in my lips. I had gone here previously and had a positive experience. This time I went to an injector named Dorna. I told her to please only use half a vial of as I have a small mouth and I wanted a very subtle look. She stopped halfway through the procedure and told me she had already is 2/3 of the vile and what would I like to do next? Obviously I was taken aback but I kept my fingers crossed that it wouldn't look overdone. I was horrified when I got home to see there were six huge bumps, two on the top and four on the bottom. But, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and I waited a week, gently massaging them and hoping that it would settle down. It certainly did not. After eight days had gone by is it only gotten worse. I went back to have the juvaderm removed and was given a run around. Long story short, Dr. Lasar didn't want to pay for the dissolving. Finally, somehow -- I talked some sense into them and they reluctantly comped the dissolving process which was incredibly painful. I sat there for 20 minutes having needles full of acid inserted into my lips. Sounds fun right? Not one apology or acknowledgment of what it happened. Then I told them that they're going to need to refund me for the original service as it was not done properly and they told me that was not possible. What? So I paid for a service that wasn't properly provided, I had to endure pretty severe pain to get it corrected and they want me to pay $500 for this? Whoever runs his business must be off their rocker. This is no way to treat a customer especially when such an egregious mistake was made. Shame on them!!! The new space (they relocated a year or two ago down the street from their previous location) is very open and clean. What I love the most are the people. I feel like they do the job, the reason I come back is their pricing... but really lately I have been thinking it is not worth it. The amount of time they make you wait despite the fact you have an appointment and come 5 mins early is ridiculous. I have waited for 30, 40, 50 and even 60 minutes! That's an hour later than my appointment. They offer no compensation for your wait, and if you can't stay that long because of your schedule then they just offer you another date and time... at which you will wait again. I got one of the Formosi packages with the Laser Rejuvination and Laser Hair Removal, and I called to make an appointment for a Laser Rejuvenation treatment. The experience leading up to the procedure and the procedure itself overall was fine. I was running late to the 3:30 PM appointment, and I called around 3 PM advising that I was running late and asked if that was okay. They said it was fine, and they moved my appointment to 4 PM, which I thought was really nice of them. When I got there, one of the girls that checked me in (Karina I think) was really friendly and helpful. I went with my Mom, and she welcomed both of us really nicely. She talked to me about the procedure, and was reassuring, which was nice because it was my first time doing anything laser related (esp on my face!) so I was nervous. The procedure went well, it was really quick and absolutely painless. My skin felt so much softer, and it definitely looked brighter after. Which is what I wanted. The practitioner that was performing the procedure was really nice, but talked to me a lot about the other procedures they do there -- which is fine and expected, if anything. In the end, I ask her about post-procedure care, and she gives me a quick: "sunscreen and no gym for 24 hrs! They'll tell you more in the front." Afterwards, they brought me out to their lobby and started talking to me more about other procedures that they recommend. And I was genuinely interested in seeing the prices for the facials. So they brought me out to the front, and showed me the prices on some menu-style form and explained some deals they were having. I was talking to Karina, mostly, who was explaining all the bundle deals they have. I didn't want to make any rush decisions, or commitments, since this was my first time doing any form of laser treatment and I don't do anything spa-related so I'm very inexperienced. So I politely declined and said I would talk to my Mom about it, and I'll call her to schedule anything out if I was interested. She would then proceed to tell us more deals, which we'd politely refuse and give the same answer. Then, the other girl at the front desk cut into our conversation and said: "If it's a financial thing, we have other options." Karina would then pick up on that and give me cheaper options, which I would decline again, telling them straight out I wasn't comfortable committing yet and I wanted to talk to my mom about it first. Then, the other girl said, visibly irritated said: "Seriously? There's absolutely nothing to talk about. So, what you're really saying is that you're not interested." And I told her, "it's not that I'm not interested. It's my first time doing this sort of procedure, and I just want to see what happens and how my skin reacts before jumping into anything else." And she sort of scoffs at that answer! How rude! We go back and forth for another minute or so, wherein she finally cuts me off saying: "well are you going to at least leave a tip?" Thereby ending further discussion. I hand her the cash, and she looks at it, takes it and turns back to her computer without saying another word. It would have been a great experience, but that lady really ruined everything for me. Ugh, I keep hoping my experience here will change but unfortunately it just goes from bad to worse after probably 8 or so visits. I initially came in due to a Formosi deal for a facial and after a good initial facial experience, I was basically pushed into buying a facial package for around $500. Fine. They're definitely EXTREMELY pushy at every visit to try to get you to continue to buy more treatments and keep trying to sell you before they let you book your next appointment. But here's the prime source of my frustration...on my second or so visit I really my esthetician, Miriam. She made great recommendations and wasn't scared to get into the extractions. After that I tried to book all my appointments with her which I was assured was no problem. In 5 subsequent appointments, only 2 have been with her...Two were with someone I asked to never be paired with again after the first experience and yet it happened again despite specifically requesting Miriam. I normally go into the Manhattan Beach location, but my schedule changed, so I went into the Santa Monica location today specifically to see Miriam. I showed up, only to get someone else! When I mentioned it, the girl at check out very rudely told me that there was no guarantee I would get her since schedules change. I understand that, but I've never been somewhere where they don't call to inform you of a schedule change. I would have much rather just scheduled for a different time to get my appointment with the person I prefer. She also literally said, "so what do you want?" in a super rude tone at check out. My experience here is always so inconsistent. Some estheticians give an awesome massage with the facial, some won't touch you at all for extractions, it's extremely frustrating to not be able to get the service you want considering the amount you pay. And on top of that, I get consistently really rude service both in person and when I call to schedule. It's just unbelievable how poorly they treat customers. in the words of Whoopi Goldberg.... "you're in danger girl" Got the Fermosi package facial & laser hair removal which now I know is a massive scam. Starters: The facial room was very sterile, disorganized and uninviting: it looked like I was entering an execution room to be strapped down for lethal injection. The facial was average and the quality of the products were cheap. Sweet esthetician but poor bedside manner. At one point she covered my eyes and left the room without telling me; I adjusted my arm position and the steamer was so close it cinched off my hairs. The laser appt was equally as terrifying and the woman who performed it was cranky AF. She rushed through both under arms in 3 minutes tops using her Jedi laser beam vs my poor defenseless pits. She never stopped to ask how I was doing; and I tried to tap out but the laser was too loud and SHE WAS MOVING SO FAST! I just laid there, arms over my head, and took it like a champ crying underneath the thick uv googles. After she was done I told her I was in severe pain to which her response was, "Slap some aloe on it." Shes my worst fear: an emotionally distant person who hit it and quit it leaving me only with a hot, burny, painful rash. At check out, the front desk woman tried to up-sell me on the laser package. When I politely declined she was so rude and made me feel absolutely horrible about it- she even held my parking validation hostage!After being bullied for a few minutes I finally told her that I hated the whole experience and would never be coming back! Ugh. I get Brazilians every 5 weeks aka the inner crevices and folds of my vage waxed and I'm tellin ya- this hair removal was NOT a normal type of "discomfort." They had me pay before my appointment and it was $5330 i came in asking for sculptra & Milana the front desk lady that takes your payments & convices you to get something els... Anyways i thought she knew what she was talking about, because i had a consultation that day & she acted as she was the nurse. She wanted me pay in full i only payed $1000 deposit & told her i will pay the day off, she still contacted me constantly & said i had to pay in full because they need the money to purchase my vials! How poor & unprofessional that started. So i payed in full, $5330. Day of my appointment, the nurse still had the nerve to ask me what i'm here for after i payed! Numbed me for an hour, then injected 4 vials of voluma. Remember I was there for 10 vials. AFTER she injects 4 vials, SHE TELLS ME THAT SHE wont inject more that sculptura is a better choice for me but if I do sculpture I'm gonna need more vials so if i'm willing to pay another 2,300 she will give me good results?? Let me start by saying that the front desk is not only dishonest but also super incompetent! I had an appointment with them on 11/14 at 4pm. They never called to confirm my appointment the day (or two) before like they usually do. So I called that day in morning. As usual, nobody picked up. Alana returned the call 2 hours later. She told me that I won't be able to use my groupon and would have to pay extra for the service as I was there in april which was more than 6 months before my current appointment. I told her that nobody told me about this when I was booking the appointment and she said that I had been informed about this in April when I last visited which is a flat out LIE! However even if I assume they had told me in April (which they had not), why was I not told about this when I booked the appointment? I was only informed about this when I called the morning of my appointment to confirm my appointment. I asked her if she is willing to honor the groupon and she kept saying I will just honor the appointment (not the groupon). I had no interest in it since I was never informed about the extra payment I had to make when I booked the appointment and their facials are definitely not worth the price they were asking for! Here is another kicker! Check the attached photo! Their groupon clearly states in the fine print -- Not valid for client active within last 6 months. This definitely did not apply to me! She just kept saying Dr Laser policy is for clients not active within last one year. Well, then make sure either you align your policies with what you are advertising out there or make sure when you advertise you advertise it correctly! People read the fine print before buying groupon to make sure they are eligible or expect to be informed when booking an appointment. Don't make your clients pay for your stupid mistakes. P.S : This appointment was very much important to me as I needed to get facial before my scheduled chemical peel next day at my usual medical facility. It is usually advised to have extractions done before the peel to get nice results! But of course Alana didn't care! Btw, she was also not willing to give me her name when I asked "May I know who I am talking to". She said why does it matter who I am talking to! It does ALANA! I've had a lot of facials and I've never had someone stick a needle in a blackhead or a perceived whatever. OUCH and UGLY. I'm hoping it clears up/calms down by morning but I'm not hopeful. So, first impressions are cute, but I place even more value on how I feel once I've left an establishment, especially one where I've spent several thousand dollars over the years. I started at DR LASER a few years ago for tattoo removal and couldn't be happier with my results. I'm melanated and skin with a higher concentration of pigment can easily burn and scar, they were knowledgeable about that and expertly removed my tattoos with no scarring or burning. And because I had such a great experience, I've since branched out to chemical peels, skin rejuvenations, micro needling, and PRP. DR LASER really cares about their patients, I always feel valued, listened to, and properly counseled. I just left an appointment today and received the warmest, most knowledgeable and curated attention and service from Ani (hope I'm spelling everyone's name correctly), Amanda, and even one of the owners, Joe. I have some problem areas that I'm highly self conscious about, Amanda shared some of her own personal struggles and before and after photos just so I knew I was in good hands with the treatments I was contemplating to address my issues. Went here with a daily-deal voucher for laser hair removal. The location is clean and fresh with a roomy lobby and cozy waiting room. While sitting in the waiting room, I looked a little closer and actually realized the place is a little shabby around the edges. Although it didn't affect the service by any means, it did slightly downgrade my perception of how nice I thought it was initially and is why I didn't give five stars. Service was great, and most of the staff I've dealt with in my four visits are pretty nice. I got laser hair removal and had exceptional results. After doing six sessions at a different medspa and seeing lackluster results, I was frustrated and disappointed in laser hair removal in General. But the effectiveness of Dr. Laser's equipment totally changed my perspective.
