How I love this tiny unassuming little local gem! We've been here a bunch. First off, the decor and ambience are just perfect. It's just so pretty, artistic and interesting to look at. I tried to avoid words like favorite because every time I find what I think is my favorite restaurant in Miami I come across another that seems to completely fit that category. But I have to admit that this one checks off all the boxes and now that I live closer is a place where I find myself occasionally even more than once a week. That is because it is one of the prettiest restaurants to enjoy a meal in, the food is beyond exceptional, and the serving staff is so kind and attentive that I think to myself why don't other restaurants send their staff here to see how to do everything right. I love it here. I have tried a number of dishes here, but generally settle on the chicken, tikka masala, the Samosa Chaat, and some garlic naan. That is not to say that the lamb vindaloo or chicken korma are not wonderful and that the other dishes and appetizers do not call out to me frequently, but these are standout dishes in a restaurant where everything stands out. Always served looking beautiful, the taste is consistently wonderful. Perhaps my only criticism is that their scale of spiciness is much lower than other Indian restaurants I have been to so if you like the food with more typical spice, let them know in advance and they will accommodate you. Don't simply stick with the mild moderate or spicy instructions. I love the decor and sitting under the umbrellas, I can't decide if they're going for romantic, classy, or simply comfortable. Somehow, the restaurant does all three at the same time. This is the kind of restaurant you put on your list of places to go again and again and again because they are consistent and absolutely never disappoint. In a city that seems to really know how to do Indian food. I must admit I have several that I enjoy, but this is the one I returned to often not only because of the food but the intangibles. Urban Rrasoi never disappoints. We've been a few times and always try new menu items. EVERY SINGLE ITEM IS DELICIOUS. I was so excited that I completely forgot to take pictures. And, if you know me that doesn't happen often. We had chicken mulligatawny (a soup) and samosas to start. They were absolutely incredible. For dinner we had Chana Masala with their rice. Absolutely insane how flavorful. The restaurant is nicely decorated, they always have Bollywood movies playing, which is so fun, and the service is always great. I was craving butter chicken and found this little spot. Placing the order was smooth, it would be ready in 15 min. I did have to wait about 5 min when I got there for the food but it was expertly packaged. Service was quick, the staff were friendly. Inside the restaurant was clean, it was very quiet because there were no guests, but they had music playing. The food was a solid 8/10. To start, I ordered samosas which come in an order of 3. They had a slight kick to them but the texture was perfect. The star of the show: the butter chicken was creamy, perfectly seasoned & juicy. The sauce mixed perfectly with the rice, which was yummy. They offer the choice of chicken, lamb, vegetarian ,or seafood with you choice of preparation (tandori, korma, vindaloo etc). The special arrives on a nice compartment platter with several small servings of items. I opt for the chicken korma which came with rice, naan, lentils, chilly chicken, sweet potato fries and Gulab jamun, a fried dough. All of the items tasted fresh. The only item which I didn't eat was the fried dough which was covered in a syrup which was overly sweet for my liking. The service was adequate. My friend who ordered a chai had to request it several times. When it did arrive, she said it tasted (and looked) like instant. The food is definitely worth another visit. read more

Tried this place for lunch. I really wanted to try Biryani. I had the goat Biryani. It was really delicious. I'm not usually a fan of Indian curry but my friend ordered the goat curry & it was succulent & full of flavor! Although the chef mistakenly made it medium spicy instead of mild. The server had him make a mild one. I preferred the spicy one. I have now changed my mind about Indian curry dishes. I'll definitely try it again. The service was really great The restaurant is decorated tastefully. There are beautiful original Indian paintings all over. It really adds to the atmosphere. Came here a long time ago with someone else during covid and I remember that the food and service was amazing. Now recently came back and they did not dissapoint. We had the lamb and chicken masala. During prime time parking can be a headache because the shopping center is very populated. The ambience is very chill with the Indian music playing in the background. Honestly price to value is amazing as well as you wont leave hungry for around 25 per person. I just want to start off by saying I wish I could rate this place higher, but the service we received is the reason I gave the score I did. As soon as you walked in you're greeted with the smells of pepper and spice and I was extremely excited for this meal especially since I had eaten here before. Our server was amazing as well. She took care of us as soon as we got in. And that's where the great service ended, she did her best, but she had no control of the speed of service in the kitchen. We ordered several dishes and a side salad as an appetizer. It took 30 minutes for our side salad to come out whilst a table of 8 that came in after us were getting their main dishes. This was my first time trying authentic Indian food and it was delicious. Since I am a picky eater I went through the menu before getting to the restaurant and took advantage of the descriptions on the menu to plan my order. The team was nice and the food came out promptly. For drinks, we had the Mango Lassi and White India Paradise. The Mango Lassi has a fresh taste and smoothie consistency and the White India Paradise was refreshing and like a sangria. To start we had the Samosas, this was my first time trying them and I was not sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised, the tamarind sauce that it was served with pairs well. For our mains we ordered the Butter Chicken and Shrimp Tikka, both were amazing, but the Butter Chicken was my favorite, the Shrimp Tikka had a spicy kick even when I ordered it mild. The Garlic naan and Cheese Naan were both so good, but the Garlic naan was my favorite, especially with the cream from the butter chicken. For dessert, we had the Gulab Jamun which smelled amazing but was too sweet for my taste. Overall, Urban Rrasoi was delicious and a restaurant I would try again. Finding a place like this nearby was very exciting. We grew our love for Indian Cuisine during our time overseas and had been missing this type of food for a while now. It's a small restaurant but we normally go during lunch time and have not had issues, not sure how it is during busier times. We also ordered this week with Doordash and were pleased. My favorites are Chicken or Shrimp Tikka Masala and Chicken or Shrimp Vindaloo. I usually go for the medium spices, yum. As far as naan bread, either one is fine by me. It is located in a Kendall plaza and the decor inside is beautiful. There is always Indian music playing which I love, and the paintings and the colors and photos on the walls are astonishing. Makes you want to visit India. The service is great. We are greeted properly and they always make sure that you have a full glass of cold water to help with the spiciness of the food. The food comes rather quickly whether you want to eat there or order for pick up. The food. So many different options, including vegan options for those who prefer it, and they are all delicious. I have had so many of their dishes from the butter chicken to the lamb biriyani to the Tikka Masala. Delicious delicious. I've tried all their naan, but the plain one is definitely my favorite. I don't think I've ever been there without ordering 2-3 orders of the naan. It's just too good and it is always fresh. The naan takes the longest to come to the table because it is always made fresh so I definitely recommend ordering a bunch of naan before you look at the menu for your appetizers and main course. I recently returned from a month in India and wanted to try to chaat - aloo tikka chaat. My friend loved it. It was fine, not as many crunchy elements as in Jaipur's chaats. I ordered the goat curry.
