We had Dr. Roof do our new roof, which went fine. They were in a partnership with our Solar Company. They then had to add the solar by destroying the roof tiles that we had just installed. The solar company blamed the roofers and Dr. Roof blamed the solar company. After 4 years and numerous calls and emails for appointments, they still have not replaced the broken tiles or fixed numerous leaks that they left for us! They brought someone out to do a repair, but the employee Keven, did not bring any equipment to do the repairs. How is that possible? So as stated, We've been calling, texting and emailing for someone to come back and fix the tiles and make the repairs to our leaking roof for four years and no-one has returned our requests or inquiries for an appointment to do the repairs. Alert! Alert! This business if fraudulent. They replaced my roof, but did not pay their materials provider. As a result, their materials supplier has filed a Lien against my property, and they are holding me responsible for the cost of the materials after I paid the contractor the full amount of the contract. The contractor is not answering any calls now. I have contacted the project manager, Nikky, but nothing has been resolved. The owner is allegedly out of the country. We hired this company to fix the flat roof that was leaking into our bedroom. It went very badly. From the very beginning, communication was lacking. No one ever told us when they were coming or what they were doing. Everything they itemized in their estimate/work order, they didn't do. The materials they said they'd use? They didn't. The tiles they said they'd replace? They tried to glue broken ones together instead (see photos). The gutters they said they'd clean and reroute? Nope. They also got silicone and tar all over our skylights, stained the fascia boards, broke tiles. The single most important thing they said they would do was fix the flat roof and create proper drainage by adding a slope. That did not happen either. By the end, one of the owners had to come out to assess the situation in person. He promised they'd fix the work that, he agreed, had been done improperly. We gave them an opportunity to fix the problems. We had hoped that perhaps it would all get resolved. Some things were addressed. But the most critical issues were not. The final result has been a roof that actually drains WORSE than it did before. See for yourself in the photos. Two days after our last rain and water pools everywhere, just sitting. Not draining at all. And, of course, the roof is still leaking into our bedroom. So now we're out the $7k this company charged us. And we're having to get estimates for another company to demolish everything Dr. Roof did and start over to fix it properly. I am assisting a 82 yo person that cannot see anymore, whose roof is leaking. This company was hired by the contracting company to do the roofing job. Of course, the poor workmanship did not come to light until years late, due to our lack of heavy rain in CA. I called the company and they were ready to come out to inspect, and repair as needed. However, the owner had a doctor appointment the day they want to come, and they said they would call back. No call of course, so I called and the person I spoke to earlier could not talk and said the owner would call. The owner did call and said their work was only guaranteed for a year. What reputable roofing company only guarantees their work for a year? NONE. The screenshot of the permit process shows the quality of work performed. The owner's comments are what I expected from this shady company. Yes, Myra offered to come out and inspect and fix the roof, but she told me there was a five (5) year warranty on it. And we are still in the five year window. There has been no work done to, on the roof since their work on it. 1/3/24 Update: We received a response from the bond company since we tried the longshot of presenting a bond claim. Well, it seems we were not the only one to make a claim. Per the claims examiner, "However, we must advise you that prior to receiving your claim, American Contractors Indemnity Company received multiple claims against bond number 100307084. After evaluating and determining the validity of each claim, we disbursed the entire $15,000.00 penal sum of the bond available to homeowners who were damaged prior to January 1, 2023, to a previous claimant. They will not properly do your roof, and you will not find out until you have several leaks much later. We live in Los Angeles, it doesnt rain here often. So it took us a awhile to find out, but they just did our roof and avoided all flashing around Air conditioning and air conditioning vents. Its like asking someone to cut your grass, then when they are done you find out they only cut the grass and left everything like weeds etc... to grow. They did not convey to me that i didnt have flashing they just did the work around the ac units and other sections and said the roof looked good and i wouldnt have to worry about leaks. They tried to pass the responsibility off on an AC repair man. AC repair folks do not do roof repair. When they did the roof initially they also broke my ac unit and tried to have their "cousin" tell me it was my fault. I had to force them to bring in a proper AC repair company to assess it who confirmed it was their roofing damage. I had them come out to look at several of the leaks that were suppose to be part of their "warranty". They came out at first and then decided the best way to deal with me was just to completely ghost and ignore me. The owner of the company Gil even came out and said that i would finally have people respond and help me because he was involved. The only thing i got was his number that he also ignored me on it. I have spent so much time dealing with this company for them to do What they are responsible for doing, i regret using them so much. save yourself the trouble and use a different roofing company. read more

Dr Roof replaced my very old CalShake-over-wood shake roof with a very nice looking Owens-Corning shingle roof quickly and painlessly. The demolition and OSB board covering was done in one and a half days with minimal mess. Then all in one day, they installed all of the waterproofing and shingles. It looks very nice. And the price was in line with other roofers, even though Dr Roof was offering much better quality shingles. We really enjoyed Nikki as our sales person and project manager. I could not be more pleased with the results. I had our garage and home roofed. It involved demoing the two roofs already there. It was amazing how quickly they were able to get the old roofs off. Plus, the truck for the debris was able to maneuver our narrow driveway without hitting a thing. There were some spots where the plywood needed to be replaced. They did a great job replacing the plywood. Next the supply truck came with the materials. Large truck. They too were able to get their truck in so they could conveyer belt everything up to both roofs. We had high winds that night and I was concerned that something might blow off the roof, especially since the noise was quite loud. Not a thing moved. Waited a couple of days, plus a weekend for the inspector. He signed off and everything was go the very next day. The crew was amazing to watch. I know they are use to working on top of buildings and I am sure they have a routine that allows them to move quickly through a job. But the guys and the gal were so nimble up there. The garage and home were done in a day. That included special work around the sky line. We did run into what I would consider a major hiccup, not Dr. Roof's fault at all. I was very impressed how well Yuval, our Project Manager, and Dian, the office contact, owned it and handled it. They determined the issue and offered a choice of solutions. An excellent solution was agreed upon. And through it all they were kind and professional. What could have turned out to be a major problem turned out very well, and only added one more day to the project. Speaking of which, they finished way ahead of time. Several neighbors have already commented on how good the roof looks, it really compliments the exterior. I am very pleased with the end result. A roof is a major purchase. I scheduled an appointment for a roof replacement estimate. I chose a different roofer to go with. I cancelled the estimate appointment with Dr. Roof at 8am. The receptionist at Dr. Roof that I spoke to told me I had to cancel the appointment through Angie's since that's where I scheduled my appointment with. The Dr Roof receptionist also informed me that if their estimator showed up not aware I cancelled the appointment I could be charged $200. for showing up to do the estimate. I did call Angie's as instructed and the Angie's receptionist told me I had to cancel with Dr. Roof and not Angie's. I explained I did that and Dr. Roof instructed me to call Angie's. Well, the Angie's receptionist said she would take care of cancelling the appointment with Dr. Roof. This was my first experience with Angie's and Dr. Roof. I WILL NEVER USE ANGIE'S again or any contractor listed with Angie's or recommend Angie's or Dr. Roof. Don't do it consumer. This is a company that did exactly what they told us they would do. Their representatives Yuvi and Noah were conscientious and checked in via text, dropping by, or phone call every day. They were friendly and knowledgeable about their products and the work involved. They told us they would have the project completed in a specific timeframe, and they did. We had a large project that involved a brand new roof (some new decking, all new shingles etc) on both our house and our detached garage, plus a new HVAC unit, as well as new laminate wood floors. We needed to replace our roof after a series of strong wind storms but we were having some issues getting our insurance company to pay for the full cost of replacing the roof. So we were tasked with getting a few estimates from roofers. Many of the roofers we called gave our roof a cursory glance and told us they couldn't do the partial replacement suggested by our insurance company. Some of the roofers we called refused to come to the house to give us an estimate and some never even returned our call! But Dr. Roof gave our roof a thorough examination and told us that even though it was best to replace the entire roof that they would work with us if the insurance company refused. Armed with their estimate, we were able to go back to our insurance company and get the full amount. Even though we didn't get back to them for a few months, when we called to set up a date to choose the tiles we wanted and get the ball rolling, they were available the very next day. The day after that they started work removing the existing shingles and by the end of the following day the new roof was in place! The entire job was done in essentially two days! The workmen men were very professional too. They took measures to make sure nothing got into our pool and protected the plants we had around the house. When they were done, they cleared out all the debris so well that the area was cleaner than it was when they arrived! I would definitely recommend this company-they were fast, professional, did great work, took care of all the permits, AND not only did they stick to their original estimate, it was also among the lower ones we received! This company is dishonest, manipulative, and unprofessional and I refused to hire them. We need a repair from wind damage and are also interested in estimating a full replacement. "Melissa" replied and said that they don't do repairs, only full replacements. I said fine, we want to know what a full replacement will cost, anyway so I asked to make an appointment. She asked if I was the only person on the title and both the "husband and wife" are required to be at the estimate. I saw where this was going immediately and replied, "No - I will be the only one involved." I know that this is a common high-pressure, manipulative sales sceme (Google it) and I will not tolerate it anymore. Melissa confirmed the appointment but then later emailed again insisting that my "wife" be present (I don't have a wife.) as "The law requires both parties on the title of the home to be onsite for the estimate." - Which is an outright lie. There is no law requiring this, but as I said, it is a common manipulative sales tactic. Also, I have 3 other estimates from other contractors scheduled this week and not one of them even asked about this. After I wrote back to Melissa and said "Please cancel the appointment, we are no longer interested in doing business with your company. Thanks for your time.", she REPLIED to that email and said: "Good morning Troy I understand your formal communication is email, but may you kindly provide me with a phone number? I would be grateful. I ask for a phone number in case my project manager assigned to your estimate gets lost or has a question while he is on his way to you, he can communicate with you." She either ignored or didn't pay attention the email she replied to. I'm not sure which is worse. There's no way that this company is going to be honest and fair for any customer if they think it's OK to lie about the law to get more sales leverage. read more

He came looked at the roof he counted the layers and told us that by code we can do up to two layer all together. He gave us an estimate it was in our budget and we told him to start right away. Their material cost was several factors higher than what I found later. Also the labor cost and duration was inconsistent to what I was told when I signed the contract. I noticed one of our vent pipes had fallen over, so contacted several companies about fixing it. Most quoted me several hundred dollars, if they bothered to respond, but Dr. Roof said they had someone in the area and if they just needed to put it back on they wouldn't even charge me! This was the only company that even went on the roof to evaluate the problem. Turns out, the company that tented our house cut the sealant around the pipe to lay it down and never bothered to reseal it! Dr. Roof put it back on and resealed it for me. I loved how responsive they were, answering questions promptly and giving me updates on when they could arrive. I will def be contacting them with any future roofing needs! read more

Do not use this company! My experience has been very different than those listed. The first mistake made was that the company stated that I did not need a permit because my roofing job was too small to require one. The sales rep, Noam, had no idea what type of shingle that was previously laid on my roof, but stated that "for sure" it was Night sky by Owens Corning. On the first day of install, I questioned the type of shingle. The foreman, Dekel, assured me it was the same. On this same day, one of the workers, ran into my front yard tree despite my telling him to repeatedly stop. He didn't seem to care. The truck made a huge gash in the tree. After tear off and re-decking, I noticed much of the rotted wood not being replaced and questioned this. On the second day, I had an appointment and was unable to be there through the process. When I got home, I definitely noticed that the style and color of shingles did not match my existing roof. I then noticed that the nails used were too small for city compliance and would not hold in a high wind. I also noticed the shingles were being laid end to end and not in a diagonal pattern standard for roof laying so leaking will not occur. The sales rep, Noam, bought shingle colors that did not match the style or color of my roof the third day. I decided to go to a local distributor and find the shingle and style on my existing roof. I found it that day and put the shingles on hold. I then inspected the attic of the garage to check for nailing of the radiant barrier I had decided to apply for cooling the garage attic better. I noticed the nails were not nailed to the rafters but in the middle of them. The nails poked through at least an inch causing a possible safety hazard upon standing. After about a week of no work, and after talking to the distributor and manufacturer of the shingles, I decided to file a verbal complaint with their corporate offices. Much to my dismay, the complaint was overlooked and I called local building and safety to find out if a permit was filed. None had been filed on that day, so the next morning I filed for a permit in person. Upon leaving, I had the front desk show me how to set up for an inspection to find a permit had been filed the prior night. A few days later I called the company to find out if they were going to continue with the work and correct all the mistakes. The CEO, Gil, was extremely rude and inconsiderate on the phone leaving me only to end the call and make arrangements to have another roofer complete the work and get a refund through my creditors. Shortly thereafter, Gil showed up to my house to rectify the situation and despite his behavior, I decided to allow the company to continue the work and make corrections per the city inspector. The next day, The inspector cited the contractor and gave them a corrections notice. They had to remove the underlayment and shingles previously applied and nail the radiant barrier on the frame. He also told them to remove the shiner nails on the inside of the attic and remove the remainder of the rotted wood. Per the city, all roofing jobs must have permits and an initial inspection to show that the sheeting and barrier are nailed correctly and all wood replaced as needed. That was not done as the company was trying to finish this job illegally (without permit) and I believe with an extremely inexperienced crew. The crew once again came out to make corrections for another inspection. This time the general inspector had the inspector supervisor reassess the corrections. Once again, the contractor did not pass inspection as all nails were not capped down properly and all rotted wood was not replaced. They were only given a partial approval. In addition to this, the company purchased the shingles that were not title 24 compliant for heat, stating it was my fault. The distributor claims that they told the contractor that they were not heat complaint prior to purchasing. It is the contractor's responsibility to make sure all shingles are compliant with city codes. It would not have been an issue to order a closely matched color in that same brand, CertainTeed. However, they seemed as though they had no idea what they were doing. The inspector stated that they could not use those shingles. I also had previously emailed them and made it very clear that if the roofers could not lay the shingles correctly per manufacturers specs including proper fastener size and per city code, they would have to leave the premises. I inquired in writing as to when the roofers would be back to correct the corrections and Gil stated that I would have to pay for the corrections this time. According to the contractor's state license board, it is the responsibility of the contractor to make corrections without charging the customer. In the same email, Gil stated that he is not certified to apply CertainTeed shingles on residential homes. I filed a complaint with the CSLB . read more
