I lost my hearing aides, they were still covered by the lost or damaged agreement. I called the office and told them, gave them my credit card # to pay the deductibl. I was told that they would be in the office within the week. I am now in week number 7 trying to get my replacements. every time I call it's a different story. Recently, I made an appointment with Dr Woods to get my hearing tested. It took three weeks to get the appointment. After the testing I asked about different types of hearing aids as she only had a $7,000 over the ear variety to sample. I asked about in-the-ear rechargeable. She told me they didn't exist. She also told me ITC (in-the-canal) hearing aids were all older technology. I left, feeling her agenda was to only sell me the specific type of hearing aide she was pushing. She didn't really seem to care what might be right for me. Afterward, I did a little research I found a highly rated ITC rechargeable hearing aid with the very latest technology. Starkey ITC Livio Edge AI 2400. I contacted a couple local Audiologists and found prices ranging from $5,200 (New England Audiology) to $5,600 for the pair. I called Dr Woods to ask whether it was something I could purchase through her. She said I could but the pair would be $7,200. When I told her I was doing some price comparing as it was a big investment, she became rude and told me I was undermining her profession. This was my first experience with an audiologist and I have to say I was very disappointed with knowledge, care and level of service I received from Dr Woods! read more

I dropped my hearing aid off to be cleaned, as it was clogged with wax. They called me that same day saying I needed it to be repaired and it was going to cost $300. I went to retrieve it because I'm not paying that without getting a second opinion. They were closed when I got there and so I called the following day, for them to be closed for a week. I finally got ahold of someone today and was able to retrieve my hearing aid. Later in the day I decided to open the box they gave me my hearing aid in and saw that my hearing aid was in two pieces. Not the way I gave it to them. I called the office to ask why my hearing aid was in two pieces and I got a very rude person on the other end. I never got an explanation as to why the earpiece was detached from the hearing aid. All I got from her was saying " I thought you were going to bring it to Manchester." "I don't know why you even brought it here." And then she made a snarky laugh and said "Yeah why don't you" when I said I'll see if someone in Manchester can put the earpiece back on. read more

My current Audiologist who I have had for 15 years was retiring in July. I was very concerned on who would be as competent, thorough and friendly as she had been with my hearing tests and fitting me with hearing aids. She recommended Dr. Woods. I called and received an appointment in a timely fashion. The office staff and manager were very friendly and competent. When I sat with Dr. Woods and explained my concerns, she had me at ease at the first appointment. She ordered my new hearing aids and worked closely with me until I felt comfortable with them. I would avoid this place. A test to correct feedback from an initial configuration caused excessive noise in my right aid and my tinnitus spiked markedly--like having been at a deafening rock concert. Not fun. I do not agree that this is standard practice. Plus it was PAINFUL. This cannot be standard operating procedure. I am own my own and will contact the manufacturer and also to look for more humane solution to the problem I am having. read more
