She spends the time needed to hear the problems and to explain the issues, engaged with all the myriad data points every time I have an exam (imagine doing that for every patient; I know that she does because I'm acquainted with a few others of her patients and we all marvel about this) and yet at the same time she always brings a positive/encouraging friendly/kind/caring demeanor that is attentive to the smallest issues and patiently gracious even with the eccentricities of difficult patients (ask how I know). Her staff is professional and kind in person, and you'll generally get a same-day reply from Dr. Barlow or her staff (never later than the next day!) when you send an inquiry through the MyChart system. Dr. Barlow not only gives good, targeted referrals for specialist care, she follows up to make sure that care was provided to her standards. Dr. Barlow comes across as a wonderful caring friend - my wife and I think it's almost a miracle that we'd be blessed to know a physician who's both so razor-edge sharp and yet such a lovely person.

I requested that they change the billing and resubmit to my insurer, but they said that would be fraud since it wasn't a physical. They said I need to come in twice for a physical. For a Physical? This place is highly unorganized, or is running a racket. I'll bleed to death before I walk in their door again.

Their recorded phone information instructs patients to call their pharmacy and have the pharmacy call the office for Rx refills. This has twice caused me to run out of my prescription. My pharmacy has records of faxing the office numerous times, but the office does not respond. The excuse for that from the office is: "Your prescription is a controlled substance. You must call the office for that refill." However, they acknowledge that those instructions are NOT on their recorded phone information. When asked why - they do not respond. They also require prescriptions such as this to be picked up at the office after they telephone the patient. They do not telephone. I have stood for 20 minutes at the office after waiting the 48 hour time period to pick up the hard copy of my prescription (which is what they insist that I do) only to find out they have faxed the prescription to my pharmacy. No negative comments about professional staff, however office staff is sorely lacking and very unresponsive to the problems they create for patients. I intend to address this situation with the medical board as well.

I have experienced providers constantly leaving; an aggressive confrontational Doctor who didn't like the fact I was educated; a case where a provider prescribed the wrong medicine, resulting in a medical emergency; one doctor at their westside clinic disparaged my mode of dressing; others totally treated me like a second class patient because I am a person of color. Today I had a conversation with one of their administrators, Mr. Green, who had promised me a phone call back 4 weeks ago, he said he would get my Mounjaro prescription sorted out even if it meant prescribing it for another condition (!) ... when I reminded him of this he just hemmed and hawwed, and changed the subject, complained that I had the gall to report that one of their providers approached me in a racist manner, and I had said so to their face! Well, duh, as if his staff is above reproach; this sort of current cultural criticism is valid and I stand by it. I often got second class care because of my identity and public presentation. I experienced bad things at Duke City and I must say something about that. This place is a prime example of what is wrong with our nation's healthcare system and it would not be wrong of me for others to follow suit and turn the page on this flawed clinic. 1

They stated they were informed by their manager to no longer take walk ins. This should've been communicated when we called 10 minutes earlier. This clinic is living up to their 1.5 star rating. Would recommend more transparency via clinics name, receptionist and the website if you're no longer providing urgent care services for walk ins at certain times.

The PA who saw her listened briefly to her lungs, then became focused on her perception of heart attack symptoms in my wife, after my wife stated her chest hurt when taking deep breaths. My wife left without any real treatment or investigation of her symptoms. Two days later, my wife was seen by a different PA at a different urgent care company. Her lab results showed she had pneumonia. The new PA prescribed proper medication and now my wife is on the mend. Would not recommend this office.
