I have been going to this place for years and about a year ago I moved to Georgia that unfortunately does not have a Publix in Blackshear area. This store and the staff are extremely friendly. They are like a family to me. The pricing and the food quality is so much better than what you can get in Georgia. I stop in and stock up on all the Bogo's whenever I'm in town. The store is also very clean and well stocked. You need to build a Publix and Blackshear Georgia and close down the Piggly Wiggly and IGA . read more

Yes Publix is close but so are WD, Aldi's and WMT. It's not the proximity that keeps me as a regular customer but the cleanliness of the store, the friendliness and professionalism of its employees and the quality of its products. I love Publix Super Markets and visit them quite often, the service is typically great in addition to great BOGO deals. It's a great place to grab subs, groceries or even just a quick bite to eat. I have to be honest, this is not the best Publix. The deli has been out of sub toppings on several occasions and not really interested in replacing those missing items. That is a slight inconvenience when you are spending your money. Also prepare to wait, for some reason it seems like there are never enough check out lanes open. I love this Publix. Well, I just love Publix period, but this is a really great one. I guess I'm just echoing what everyone else has said about this being the best Publix in the area; I wholeheartedly agree with them. The manager, Robby, at this Publix is really great. The employees in all the departments are so friendly and helpful. Unlike many other grocery stores, it's always extremely easy to find an employee in this store when you do need help with something. Love that they always offer (and do) take my groceries to my car for me when my husband is not with me. Heck, even when my husband is with me, they still offer! The store is always clean and very well stocked. Great produce. Love the deli department; Publix subs are by far my favourite. Love their sweet tea too (and I'm not a tea drinker). The parking lot is also always nice and clean with no potholes or stray carts everywhere. The parking spaces are also large so you don't have to worry about opening your door and dinging someone else's car or vice versa. Publix does cost more than Walmart and it is also slightly more expensive than Winn Dixie. But I'd rather pay more and not have the headache of dealing with Walmart or Winn Dixie. Publix definitely nailed it on the head with their motto "Where Shopping Is A Pleasure" ... it truly is. read more

Leaving a review for a store is something new for me, especially since it is a grocery store. Although what prompted this review was "bad", the outcome was pretty amazing customer service. I went into Publix to pick up my son's cake, and then fill some balloons up with air. Stay with me here. So I pick my cake up and take it out to the car, I was alone and the store was fairly empty so I assumed it wouldn't take long. I then went to produce to fill my balloons up, I quickly found an employee who was able to fulfill my request. I found it strange she went into the back to fill it up when she was pretty capable at the station to the side - but I digress. She then handed them off to me and I went to check out with package in hand. I gave it to the cashier and when she went to hand it to the person bagging ( it was the customer service manager ) they didn't see a sticker on the balloons for quantity and price, so they went to count them. It happened pretty fast, but long story short the cashier let go before the other person could grab it and they floated right up. Immediately I was crushed because I had brought in my own balloons and only had four extra ones in my bag. Quickly they began working to get the balloons down, the cashier kept apologizing but really it wasn't her fault. The previous employee didn't add enough weight to it. The bagger; Micheal ( I believe was the name mentioned? ) began trying to get the balloons down. He tried another balloon with tape, a long stick with tape and lastly the stick but on top of a ladder. At this point I wasn't worried about the balloons, just my cake. I was just going to get my four balloons filled and be on my way, that's when Micheal offered to credit me for the balloons ( and for a fee much more than what mine would have cost ) I declined twice but they insisted I pick some balloons out and have them filled. I opted for having my four filled, and that's when yet another employee came bring my balloons in tow. Michael was able to get my balloons down, and I didn't have to pay for my balloons. The customer service was overall just amazing. He worked to get my balloons down, and then made sure I wasn't inconvenienced again by comping my balloons. This is the best Publix on this side of town by far. It's always well stocked, very clean and the staff is super friendly. The only minor complaint I have is how busy this location gets... Seeing as how it's one of the best grocery stores in the area, I can handle the crowds.... During busy times they have most of the registers open, which is a big plus considering most stores can't be bothered with opening more registers. We will definitely continue to use this location. read more

WAITING ON THAT CAFE! This was a very nice Publix and best of all, I was finally able to get my much coveted Mardi ras wings!! Perfect! We also purchased more of their prepared salads because they are so good and very fresh. We lamented the fact that the Jacksonville stores do not have an eat in cafe and a convenient register in the deli/hot bar area for convenience. If they decide to expand and add these additional features they will be unstoppable! The store appeared clean and organized and check out was fast and efficient. read more

Publix is a wonderful store. This location is a good one. The staff that I encountered during my visit was all smiles today. Since it's the end of the week it was very crowded but the store was still clean enough for the traffic. There are many products here that are hard to find in other grocery stores. I absolutely love Publix grocery stores. I'm from the north and we don't have Publix up there. The workers are friendly, the goods are priced appropriately, their subs are amazing, the produce/deli/bakery are all good, and the stores are clean. This specific location is nice. I come here at least once a week and the deli gals know me first hand from all the subs I order. I wish this store was a bit bigger and had a few things that other bigger and newer Publix stores have. I'm pretty sure there isn't an organic section in this store like other newer ones have. Not a big deal as I don't eat a lot of organic, but it's nice to have the options. This grocery store is certainly one of the best on the northside. I can't stand to go to the Walmart at River City unless I absolutely have to. I can't stand Walmart in general so glad Publix is around. read more

Let me preface this by saying I'm an extremely impatient person. I'm working on that but every time I walk into a Publix it tests my patience will power. With that being said: Why is the service soooooooo slow at Public stores???? I don't care about personal service at a grocery store. I shop here because Publix has the best produce I have found in the area not because the deli counter will offer me a slice of turkey. Just cut the stupid thing and bag it. After pushing around a dirty cart and picking up items that a million other people have touched WHY ON EARTH would I want to take a piece of deli meat in my filthy hands and put it in my mouth???? Well, this Publix has taught me that I need to avoid the Bakery counter as well as the Deli counter because it apparently takes 20 minutes to take a cake out of a case and put it in a box. SIGH. But since Publix is the nicest grocery store in the area, I find myself returning to their stores. But maybe I need to have a couple of cocktails first. I'm a HUGE FAN of publix but this location drives me crazy. The employees a extremely helpful, and nice however the prices a way higher than other locations in Jacksonville, and the pharmacy is an issue. My wife and I have had roughly 6-7 rx filled there, always called in from the doctors either an hour or two before, or in some instances the day before and they're never ready. We always end up waiting 20+ minutes at a minimum and it seems like the staff always seems surprised when you say it was called in. Most recently my wife's rx was called in 24 hour prior to her showing up and it still hadn't been filled. I know this isn't a publix wide thing because I've never had this problem at the other locations. read more

This is the publix closest to where I live and I enjoy shopping here. This location is convenient and not usually over crowded. The store is always clean and very well staffed. The staff is just like you would expect at publix, extremely kind and willing to go above and beyond to make their customers happy. Their deli and bakery is a little smaller than other locations, but they make up for it in the fresh fruit and veggies section. I've recently discovered the prepped meals section and can't wait to try some of the pre-made fresh dinner options. I also enjoy that Publix has a variety of options for every item and they carry obscure items that you won't find at other grocery stores. The price is higher than Walmart or winndixie, but if you're looking for something specific Publix will probably have it. read more

Publix equals quality. The employees are courteous and go out of their way to make shopping a pleasant experience. The pharmacy is excellent. The only qualm my husband and I have with our Publix is that they allow fund raising groups to stand at the entrance and exit of the store, and these people have the tendency to get in our faces as we come and go. Oftentimes, the fund raiser groups are not even from our neighborhood area! This does not make shopping a pleasure. read more

This Publix located a crossed the street from First Coast High school surprisingly isn't infested with High school kids roaming the parking lot. Back home for w.e reason that's what we use to do after school. Anyways, you will find in Publix typically everything you can at Walmart with a slight higher price for some items and not others. However, what they do have is a awesome Beer section compared to the convenience stores in the area. The fried chicken boxes personally are way better than KFC. Plus its at a fraction of the cost then the COL. Basically if you just need something real quick and your not needing a home fridge worth of food come on by. I come here 2-3 times a week..clean, friendly staff, well stocked, yummy deli & bakery..No real complaints! I prefer to spend a little extra here than shop at cheaper Walmart up the road. My only suggestion/wish is that the organic/all natural section was bigger. read more

Now this is one of the best super markets in the area. I do get a sub from time to time. I like another sandwich shop most of the time but you know when you just want something different. The store is normally clean and well stocked so I guess that is a good thing. I do like their variety of produce and it seems fresh. I'm likely to go to the farmers market or king's street market but in a pinch. I do find a lot more specialty items here then in other markets. Publix no doubt about it is the best store to shop when it comes to buying food. How ever the Pharmacy is a different story. When going in to pick up your medication now they ask you everything about yourself right in front of other customers. They ask your Name date of birth and your address. That's a little to much information about ones self in front of everyone. If they can't respect your privacy a bit better I'll have to take my business elsewhere. read more

My wife and I were visiting from Texas and some friends of ours from Florida had been raving about Publix subs. We stopped in before heading to the airport to fly home and got some sandwiches for the plane. Went there to get a sub some catfish and popcorn chicken they gave me to sub relatively quickly and then I stood in line for the other things literally for 25 minutes while two employees were behind the counter just talking and laughing with somebody back there looking right at me ignoring me no one was in line at the time so I walked away got some other things came back stood in line for another 10 minutes while they continue to do the same stuff not even come to the counter so wasted a total of 35-40 minutes waiting on stuff that I didn't even get. I shop here frequently and the customer service is decent. But then I tried to apply here and it was all a different story. I spoke to the customer service manager over the phone to see if there were any open positions since I've been trying to apply for 4+ months (and you have to do a 45+ minute application every month the "renew" your application) so when I spoke to the cs manager he told me that there were a few openings that he was looking for and I made it clear I went to First Coast High School right across the street so that he understood I was under 18 and couldn't work anytime before 2:30. He told me there was still openings for minors and to come in the next morning at 8 for an interview. I waited at publix for over 2 hours for the "interview." When he finally got there he told me he no longer needed to have an interview because he was full with employees (when he just told me the evening before he needed new employees). When it comes to paying customers the employees are friendly and considerate. When trying to apply for a job they don't take it seriously. When I left the day I was supposed to have an interview the cs manager told me "all I can tell you is to apply again next month and the month after that until you get a call." read more

This is the only Publix in the area, so everyone shops there. It has become increasingly more & more difficult to find a parking space since all these new subdivisions have popped up in the last year. There are just too many people shopping there and it's hard to shop when it's over crowded. They also seem to have a hard time keeping the store stocked. They always seem to be out of something I regularly buy. It's gotten to the point that I've started using the Walmart Grocery service to buy all of my groceries. You order your groceries on their app, pay for them then choose the location & time you want to pick them up. When you arrive - they load your groceries in your trunk and it doesn't cost a dime extra for the service. I only go to Publix now if Walmart doesn't carry something we want or need. Publix needs to build another store off Alta/Yellowbluff, come down on their prices and offer the same grocery service Walmart has (at no extra cost!) before I'll return to shopping there every week. read more
