My love for pork chop was the deciding factor and it did not disappoint. We were seated in a quiet corner and we had a chance to chat with our guests. No loud music to fight over conversation, we had a wholesome and engaging discussion. The star of the night was Bone-in Pork Chop and it shone proudly! It was tender and sauce elevated the cut very well. It's a must have! The other dishes were good in their own right, tasty and flavourful. We were celebrating a birthday and the surprise Story Cheesecake gave a beautiful ending tonight.

Our server was very good. I think her name was Shaelin. I hope I got it right. We ordered a bottle of wine and started off with an order of escargot. Wine prices are on the high side. The escargot were delicious - plenty of garlic butter and 4 good slices of toasted bread to mop up the sauce. Our server gave us time to digest our appetizer before bringing our entrees. My husband had the rack of lamb. It was perfectly cooked medium rare as he had requested, and it was delicious. I ordered the pork chop. It looked like it was a tomahawk cut. It was very good and well prepared. We finished out meal with banana bread and it was really good. It had a shortbread base that really was a nice compliment to the banana bread. It was a lovely evening - good food and good service. Prices were average with the exception of the wine prices.

The food was what gives this a just okay review, it was good and above fast food but in comparison to other restaurants the food is very basic with not much flavour. It is still good and palatable, but it didn't leave a lasting impression and I don't know if I would return. My friend and I ordered mozza sticks to share as an app and they were good but small and could've used more cheese. The grilled cheese as a main was delicious by far our favourite of the night. The basic burger was mediocre with the meat tasting a bit burnt yet it was pink on the inside (fine by me) and a bit dry. The pickles weren't my fav either with them being sweet? I asked for no tomatoes but was shocked there was no onion or such, and the sauce I saw but did not taste. Both my friend and I acknowledged that they had amazing fries, but a refill of ketchup would've been nice. Finally, I had placed my file folder on the table while dining and forgot to pick it up on the way out and no staff alerted me as they were actively clearing it as soon as we got up. That made me a bit sad.

The space was clean and our food arrived fairly quickly. We ordered the fried chicken and beef brisket soup curry. The spices weren't as strong and fragrant as the one we had in Sapporo which is what made it so memorable for me the first time. It was also a bit salty for my liking. But the fried chicken piece was about double the size than the one in Sapporo! Perfectly juicy and the crispiness is a nice contrast to the soup and soft vegetables. Beef brisket was soft and tender but would pick the fried chicken over the brisket. The rice was a bit lackluster compared to the more fragrant one in Sapporo. It's hard to compete with soup curry from the motherland, but this is still worth trying if you're looking for something different from the usual ramen or sushi.

I guess that's the trendy thing. They give you rice refills. The soup - I ordered the kakuni pork belly curry soup. The Kakuni is really really well done. Very tender and soft, absolutely wonderful. I also liked all of the other veggies - broccoli tomatoes corn etc. the soup is on the peppery side but has a great soft flavour to it. I also added eggplant which had great texture. The rice is also very unique. It is more like whole grained rice and feels healthy. Its texture contrasts with the soup and goes well with it I think. Don't expect traditional curry but if you're open to something new this is an enjoyable meal.

Food: I ordered a two piece combo with one spicy and one original. Im not a fried chicken kinda guy, so, just take it as a grain of salt, but weren't bad. They were very crispy. The combo came with a side, a biscuit, and a bottle of drink. The biscuit had sweet crispy glaze on it, which was unexpected. I liked that they have bottled drinks, not a soda fountain. Because I don't drink soda, I got a bottle of water for the airplane ride. I went a couple of restaurants down and got coffee from Starbucks. Service: The lady who helped me was (came across) blunt but was nice. She even gave me a free chicken finger to try. Price: My two piece meal with a biscuit, a side, and a drink came to CAD 10.35 (USD 7.80), which is more than reasonable for airport food. I'm not sure if I will return here, but they didn't at least disappoint me. ***************************** If you found something useful in my review, please hit "useful" so that I can improve my reviews.
