This is the restaurant attached to Radisson hotel in President Plaza (across the street from Aberdeen Centre on the Cambie side). We stopped by on a whim and didn't have high expectations, but dinner turned out to be a good experience. Mozza serves a mix of Italian and American food. The attached lounge is usually open later than the main dining area. We ordered bacon wrapped scallops, la bestia pizza, and spaghetti con vongole. The food was a nice surprise. Though lacking in refinement compared to higher-end Italian restaurants, each dish was tasty and had good flavour. The pasta was cooked al dente and came with a lot of clams. For the pizza, I would have preferred the dough to be more crispy by leaving it in the oven a tad longer, but the toppings were very good. We stopped by near closing time so maybe it was rushed that night. The inside of the restaurant is modern and clean. The waitstaff was super friendly as well! They came back to check on us many times to see if anything else was needed. Mozza describes itself as Italian comfort food. I have to agree; it hit this mark since we left with full bellies and satisfied palates, as well as the warm feeling that accompanies a good meal. Looking forward to the next visit so I can try more dishes!

What we ordered: Limited Gigantic snow crab 3lb with salted egg yolk sauce - highly recommended by staff Seafood fried rice Baked large beach oyster with four unique flavors. Highlight was definitely snow crab! Salted egg yolk sauce was great as usual, crab meat was so tender and sweet! I am glad to follow staff's advice. Presentation was good, too. Rice cake was chewy, soft and paired with sauce so well and so addictive. Seafood fried rice was also great! Clam was so juicy and delicious! prawn was nicely firm and very good. Ingredients were outstanding. And Baked beach oyster was also great item. Oyster paired with each unique different flavor(Forgot to ask what kinds of each flavor..), Oyster itself was very large and creamy. Highly recommend this item, too. Overall, our revisit to Fishman was another great experience. Restaurant was packed, No doubt this restaurant is very popular for long time.

This is the place to come to have northern Chinese style seafood, especially fish. You choose from hotpot, soup, or steamed fish and get tons of fresh choices. You can choose for the hotpot the soup, weight of fish, veggies, spiciness level, and other adjustments. It is HUGE! We chose the nonspicy soup, with package of tofu skin, lotus root, seaweed knots. The fish is pretty good. Good flavour - though I have to admit I'm not one to try the spicy, but don't worry the soy no spicy flavour is still pretty flavourful. I got some rice to go with it and I definitely recommend something to go otherwise it's pretty soupy. The other dishes were reflective of a very high quality place. - cucumber salad was excellent. I loved the peanuts in there to contrast. - I LOVED the Morel mushroom and tofu. It was amazing. The morel... wow. So succulent. Brown sauce has great balance too. - I really liked the fried rice. It's spam I think and really hits the spot. Not salty, seems just light enough. The service was excellent too. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

The food was authentic Cantonese dim sum, everything we ordered tasted fresh and exactly like the dim sum I grew up eating. We especially enjoyed the har gow, steamed beef tripe, bean curd rolls, turnip cake, and chicken feet. The whole restaurant also had such an authentic Hong Kong/Cantonese atmosphere. Pretty much everyone around us (both the staff and customers) was speaking Cantonese, which made it feel like we had stepped into a traditional dim sum restaurant back in Hong Kong. Great food, great atmosphere, and definitely somewhere I'd come back to. If you're looking for authentic Cantonese dim sum, Fisherman's Terrace is absolutely worth a visit!

We went around thirty minutes after opening and only had to wait a few minutes - but we could see a line brewing after we got seated! The tables are seated very tightly so it's a game of Unblock Me when you or the table next to you need to get up for whatever reason. However, the furniture and decor (and the chandeliers!) do remind me of banquet dinners. They do all the classics well, the star being this black sesame filled sesame bun (that was akin to tongyuan) that was a crowd favorite at our table.

Once my order was completed I found a seat and started to eat. The seating area is limited and if various options, a couple tables here and there and a counter by the window. I left my water and soda to drink them later after heading to washroom. Staff cleared my water and soda away. I still had half of soda in it. I felt thirsty after eating my food in the end. It'd have been nice if she asked me first before clearing dishes. I don't think I'll go back.

I made a reservation just in case, but to my surprise, it wasn't too busy. The restaurant isn't fancy, but for me, it's all about the taste. When I arrived, I spoke with the chef (I presumed) and asked for recommendations. He suggested a few of their most popular dishes. I especially loved the oyster pancake, blanched squid, and the taro dish with sweet-and-sour sauce. The service was very friendly too, which made the dinner more enjoyable. If you never try Chiu Chow cuisine before, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

I recall frequenting a number of Chiu Chow restaurants as a child, salivating over large platters of marinated meats, indulging in delectable stir fries, and overeating the delicious fried taro dessert ubiquitous with the cuisine. For those who don't know, the Teochew or Chiu Chow people are a sub-ethnic group within the majority Han Chinese population, with their own distinct dialect and culture. The Lower Mainland used to have an abundance of restaurants specializing in this regional cuisine, including Park Lane and Tong Kung in Richmond, but all have closed shop over the last few years. I've been searching for something to fill that gap and I think Chuan Yue fits the bill. This unassuming hole in the wall covers most of the classics. Between the two of us, we tried the marinated goose, satay beef and gai lan pan fried noodles, oyster omelet, and oyster and minced pork soup rice. I'd say the goose isn't necessarily a must order - there's a lot more skin and bone than I'm used to and I'd probably go for the duck instead once they have that in stock. The oyster omelet was phenomenal though. With its crispy edges, chewy crust and an abundance of oysters, this dish was a real winner. We also really enjoyed the oyster rice soup dish. The broth was light and comforting, and the cilantro and marinated olive leaves throughout added a savoury touch. We were both stuffed to the brim and opted for no dessert, but lamented our decision as we saw their fried taro dessert headed for another table. The waitress was came back from the kitchen with a few pieces for us to try, knowing we wouldn't have room for a full order. We'll definitely be back for this as the sugar coating was perfectly crunchy and the taro expertly cooked. We spoke with the owner about how rare it is to find authentic Chiu Chow food in Vancouver anymore, and he was incredibly kind, telling us we could pop in anytime or request specific dishes if we so desired. He even gave me his business card, pointing out that he's the vice president of the Vancouver Teochew Association so he doesn't serve anything inauthentic. All in all, despite their dated interior, Chuan Yue is a great option for traditional Chiu Chow style dishes. I can't speak for their other offerings but I do think they're worth a visit if you're looking for something new.

For mother's day, our family made the trek from Seattle to celebrate at this restaurant. We did not realize they had merged with Mui Kee Chicken Pot until we called. Anyways, we were seated and ordered our food. Everything seemed to go well until we wanted our waters refilled and order a second round of food. We sat staring at the wait staff as they addressed every table but ours. After 30 minutes, we went up to try to refill our own waters but we're told to go back and sit down. We were finally able to add an order of their signature chicken pot, steamed veggies, and some fried chicken wings. After another 40 minutes, we were still sitting there waiting for more water, while wondering where our veggies and chicken wings were. The broth in our chicken pot actually dried up while we were waiting, and nobody offered to refill our broth as well. I think eventually the manager or owner came by and apologized, and removed the charge for the veggies (as it never came). At this point, we all just wanted to leave and buy some water. I hate to write this review because we always enjoyed the food at Daowei, but this was by far the worst dining experience I've had to sit through.
